it would be pretty good for the PT.  Get dividends on weds, invest int hings through the week, and pay out slowly on a daily basis...

The point of the PT is that it's a direct reflection of AM, not additional investments.

I'm sure there are some other funds out there that do this.. Aren't there?
probably BTCinvest, I think he has other investments. You are right, it would want to be a fund with daily dividends.  I'm not sure why anyone would invest in something like that, but it seems like the fund manager would stand to make some good money.

It'd just be spamming the chain with lots of small transactions daily.

I'm sure there is a positive spin to it, but I don't really know what it is.

The actual way to do this would be to pay daily divs BEFORE they came out, based on the mining wallet, then do a weekly div to correct it. Then you might get people's attention. Hmm...

There ya go!

Edit -

Ticker name can be TAT-ASICM-DAILY

Do I get some sort of credit for that?!??!!!! lol

Is this weeks mining dividend still right around what the last few have been even with the low hash rate over the last couple days?

Can someone tell me what the last 4-5 weeks dividends were for mining alone?

Thanks!!
Between 1.4 and 1.7 or so.

Agreed! My one request is for Friedcat to post the answers himself - it'll make it much easier for newer people to search for his posts than to go through hundreds of pages. I believe someone else requested this as well.

I agree that it would be ideal.. We could probably just make a shill account that you could follow, that only posts the updates. That might be a good middle ground.

I hate for us to ask a lot.. Because frankly, he doesn't have to respond to our requests...

Reminder / Update

ThickAsThieves, VJain, Franktank and myself have put together the next round of questions for the community to vote on.

Once we have a consensus of the top three questions, ThickAsThieves will submit them to Friedcat.

The last round was a big success, so we will continue doing this for the foreseeable future.

The questions are available for voting here:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1M7wigyDWjKjabHKdC7msaEfXvYaNxtMbbmTIRss8EqU/viewform

If there is a question that is not listed, please let us know and we will discuss adding it.

I'm wondering what the significance is of who is doing share transfers?

Is it currently a problem? Is it too fast? Too slow?

I'm not sure that this really matters at all. We're probably looking for something to complain about if this is what we're complaining about.
270  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: June 24, 2013, 08:17:30 PM
Something that needs to be taken into account is that there are a limited number of chips and it seems to take months to get more. These can be used for Blades to mine with or USBs to be sold. As competition increases, AM will need to use more chips for Blades to maintain a competitive share of the network hash rate. They'll have to reduce the amount of hardware they sell and they'll only be able to sell it at competitive prices.

I don't see how they can possibly maintain income from hardware sales and maintain their share of the network hash rate simultaneously.

You forget that ASICMINER has had an enormous head start against the competition.

Are you still leaning toward bitfunder for the exchange?

Did the hashrate drop to 10 TH?
The 24-hour hash rate estimate dropped to around 11.5 TH: http://runeks.dk/bitcoin/

But that's just an estimate, only ASICMiner knows the answer.

Here's a 24 hour chart in 4 hour increments:

http://www.dpcapital.net/blockchain/?hours=4,8,12,16,20,24

there is no date or time there where is this info coming from that is not a open public site..thanks

It comes from the same place everyone else uses.. Blockchain's JSON API.

Their API only gives 36 hours of data. I just poll it every minute and store the information so that you can go back for as long as you want (starting at about 11 days ago.)

Here's one for the past 11 days:

http://www.dpcapital.net/blockchain/?hours=24,48,72,96,120,144,168,192,216,240

how comes the hashrate is going down on the chart while it says blocks being found is increasing?..thanks

Hashrate is the product of blocks found, the timeframe in which they were found, and the current network difficulty.

For example, if I found 2 blocks in 1 hour, I'd be mining at an estimated ~45 th/s. If I found 2 blocks in 2 hours, I'd be mining at 22.5 th/s (half of the 1 hour rate.)

Hope this makes sense.. ASICMINER does not publish their hashrate, so we must infer the hashrate from the data we have available.

Ian

the only info  i see is for BitGuild so ...hmmm

Not sure where you're looking, but the info is there. Check your PMs, I can give you links to answer your questions, as most of them have been asked here ad nauseum.

Question regarding ASICMINER shares:

In the last two weeks, ASICMINER shares have gone up one full BTC each per share.  I know that they're a great company and all, but why the extreme jump in price so quickly?  Am I missing something?  Were they way underpriced two weeks ago at 2.5, are they now overpriced at 3.5, or have I missed a major announcement or something in the last two weeks that has caused it to gain so much value so quickly?

I am assuming (with some confidence) that the market was uncertain how ASICMINER would respond to higher network difficulty and competitors releasing products at much cheaper prices.

The price jump is largely due to the big 1000 share 2.5 wall coming down, and Friedcat's post that indicated that the USB ASICs are now 0.99 BTC rather than 1.99 BTC.

Did anyone catch this part from the updated terms from the USB miner thread found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=217104.0

Customers in the rest of the world
If you reach the total volume of 1,000 USB sticks, price is dropped to 0.89 each and we will pay back the price difference of all your historic transaction of USB sticks.

Does this mean that they are going to refund 1.99 BTC-0.89 BTC = 1.1 BTC per unit to anyone who has purchased over 1000 units?  Or 1.1BTC *1000 = 1100 BTC to each person who has purchased over 1k units?  If so, where does that BTC come from, and how does it affect dividends?  Or am I reading this wrong?

I suspect this means that they will pay back the difference in any items ordered, assuming the current rate  of .99 BTC rate.

So if you order 500 at .99, and 500 more at .99 (totaling 1,000 USB devices,) ASICMINER will pay back 100 BTC (1,000 * 0.1).

Why the hell is friedcat verifying shares anywho... people can just sign their div address....

I should probably know this, but can you explain what this means and how it's done?
279  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 21, 2013, 07:46:16 PM
I haven't heard this company (BTC Garden) mentioned much when people are discussing potential future hashrate competitors:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=213172.0

Would anyone who has been following this care to share their opinions and/or calculations on this company's potential chance at success, delivery date, and hash rate?

The issue with future potential hashrate competitors is kind of a tough one.

ASICMINER has a huge head start, and (should have) a huge bank account.

It would take a competitor of massive proportions to have the same amount of stroke the AM currently has with vendors.

Future hashrate predictions/competitors don't always pan out into a real competitor. Those are the two things to consider for the pro-ASICMINER side of the argument.

As for the competition, they could be successful if they can manage to execute on what they offer in a timely manner. Current competitors do not seem to be doing this.

this thread has gone to shit.

Holy shit. Are we just going to keep bitching about the same thing over and over?

Have we asked Friedcat about a dedicated webspace for announcements and discussion? If not can we get that question to him?

See the previous posts regarding questions for Friedcat from the community.

This question IS included in the voting, it did not make the cut last time. We will vote on it again shortly. (Probably within a week or so)
