There are two possibilities:
- all the lazy holders have, by coincidence, bought ixcoin
- the real holders are just a few, but very big ones

I don't believe in coincidence.

There are 3 possibilities.  Even though the second one is very much the case as well.  Holding a large % of coins, and not trading them causes the coin to grow very stale.

The 3rd possibility, which I know for a fact exists, as I have a few friends that are big BTC miners.  The coin is merge mined with BTC.  That is a blessing and a huge curse rolled into 1.  The BTC miners are getting these coins, but since they are worth virtually nothing, they don't even bother downloading a wallet to pick them up or sell.  They just sit there collecting dust, and causing the coin to grow stale in the process.  They aren't even touching their NMC coins, as they feel $7 a coin isn't worth their time to collect them up and sell either.

Granted Cryptsy isn't the biggest exchange out there.  But looking at volumes and seeing times where no IXC was traded, ad other times when 3 coins traded here, 7 there is very discouraging to anyone wishing to invest in this coin.  Especially when you consider the sheer number of coins that are available in the market.  This isn't 21 coin we are talking about here.

There is a 4th possibility,  the coin is so evenly distributed.

This is a very real possibility.  I think we have thousands of merge miners holding a few thousand iXcoins each and most don't sell cause its not worth enough to make a difference.  Early huge miners like BCX hold 200,000 coins but that's rare so that means the newer miners hold much much less.

This is a good thing for iXcoin.  This is what you want to have in any global coin.

However, how do you explain the massive trading volume of NMC every day?  In BTC-E NMC ranks #3 in trading volume after BTC and LTC.  So your explanation that miners just hold the coins also doesn't explain the lack of trading volume.

But he's saying the miners don't even hold the coins.  He's saying they don't even have wallets so then where are these merge mined coins going?

And yes, why does DVC, NMC and other merge mined coins have lots of volume.  There's something else going on.

Money supply showed on my screen is smaller than what the post said. So I updated my wallete from 10.0 to 10.2.1 . As the infomation above shows, the total supply is 396 trillion, not 420 trillion.

42 trillion, not 420 trillion.

Collected info about the 3rd iXcoin exchange C-CEX.com

- Ukrainian exchange
- full operational from February 20th 2014
- SSL, VPS, 2FA
- direct funding and withdrawal using http://payeer.com/en/
- the trading fee will probably be 0,2%

Twitter: https://twitter.com/CryptoCurrEncyX

Sounds like maybe a dubious Mickey Mouse exchange.  We can't even get on a good exchange and Luke thinks we will have media access like no other coin.  lol, I don't know if I wanna laugh or cry.  What's the guy talking about?  Maybe he's the one looking for a quick profit with talk like that.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 29, 2014, 04:07:34 PM
Quotation from Luke Connell:
"iXcoin will have one thing almost all the altcoin's don't have aside from Dogecoin and that's access to global media agencies and news outlets."

Is there anything I don't know? It sounds like a big statement to me.

Yeah, Luke, can you add to this?  iXcoin has no access to any media.  We can't even get coindesk to write an article.  Most think iXcoin is dead so what and how exactly does iXcoin have access to media that no all coins have cause I see many alt coins in the media all the time.  Even crappy coins like Coinye and FeatherCoin.  iXcoin gets zero media compared to these coins and a new website and logo Will not change much at all so what so you mean, Luke?

We would all appreciate some honest help here cause I feel Vlad and Friction are right, we will soon be buried under a massive avalanche of new coins and with new high budget brand coins coming in they will steal all the media, mindshare and investment money.

We have to move on this and if most votes are in I see no reason to wait 2 more weeks.  I feel there are important things you're not telling us, Luke.  I'm a long term holder as are many here so please level with us.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 28, 2014, 10:08:47 AM
I know it's dangerous to encourage this, but just to make someone happy with the name we got.

http://www.basiliansisters.org/emblem.html

Wow, interesting.  IXC means Jesus Christ?  Then what Vlad was saying about XIC being the devil holds some water since the devil likes to do everything backwards.

Wow, the symbolism just keeps on coming.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reshaping and Rebranding the iXcoin on: January 26, 2014, 11:17:33 PM
The reshaping yes, but not the rebranding.  We need to keep the same name and the same protocol.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 26, 2014, 11:16:25 PM

I totally agree with the costs suggestion.  We have a new guy who out of the blue wants to cover costs so let's bring him in.  He obviously cares enough to develop an entire plan and roadmap for iXcoin so that means he owns a lot of coins or he's been hired to develop iXcoin.

Who has an account on reddit?  Leave the new guy a comment to join us - any negotiations or discussions is gonna take place here where everyone knows to find the info on iXcoin.

I'll do it.

I will too.  Like vlad was saying, More of us should post our opinions and we should really try to keep the discussions central to one location so new investors can more easily find it.

That said, this thread is probably the best place to hold voting and discussions.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 26, 2014, 11:13:11 PM
I really like these 2 background effects.  I think they would look great with the red color as well.  Of course we can us different backgrounds at various times.

Anybody else like these backgrounds more than others?

270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 26, 2014, 11:10:30 PM
Red or Gold ...
Gold or Red ...

I don't know if you realised it, but even Bitcoin has the same problem: divided between gold and orange logos.

I say:
- Do we agree on the logo?
- If yes, should we postpone the decision between red and gold?
- Do you agree on the black color assigned to the back?

Bitcoin itself uses the orange logo check the website. For some strange reason people created the gold logo, probably because they gave some of those gold coins to early adopters.
If you check the meaning of the color orange you will find words like young, innovation, creativity. Which is probably how they seen themselfs when they started the bitcoin project.

I'm not saying you have to pay attention to this, but somebody mentioned earlier that the coin has to be perfect if we use it.

PS: the meaning of black is death.... will a black coin be the end of IXC?(hope not Cheesy)

I like the black background, it's chic and it makes the logo stand out.  I like the bright gold logo but the red as well so I would support either one.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 26, 2014, 07:50:02 PM
Did the yellow/gold one just become more orange?  Kind of looks different.  I agree the spacing should match to be more pleasant.  Good catch.

I see Friction's point with the red.  We need to get the final 2 colors perfect and side by side and then do a vote.  Like friction says, we do need to think about the branding and long term.  At this point I'm not so sure which one is best.  I like the gold one best but I also see what Friction is saying.

Let's get them touched up and perfected and see them side by side and do a vote.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 26, 2014, 07:26:17 PM
latest update, made a few reds and yellows:

We can take these two?
<still lurking>

Like them both, that red is very vibrant, but not too hardcore.
Still prefer the gold, tho'

I totally agree, that's a nicer red than the first darker one but the gold is beautiful.  Vlad hit it with that suggestion.  Thanks to the designer who made it all look so great.

Key points about the reddit take over attempt ( http://www.reddit.com/r/ixcoin/comments/1w5xk4/reshaping_and_rebranding_the_ixcoin/ ):

I've been considering the feasibility of re-branding the iXcoin. Code named: Project Evolutio

...

Bitcoin will likely become a quasi-reserve currency of all virtual and cryptocurrencies due to its investment driven focus resulting in a valuation hindering its use as a transactional platform by the mass market.
The newly re-branded cryptocurrency formerly known as iXcoin would serve as a reliable, secure, stable and professional option targeted towards e-commerce, financial securities and global remittance markets with an emphasis on flexibility and mobility.

....

I will cover the costs associated with services to facilitate voting, logo and website designs.

Anyone want to help cover the cost for software development?

Is IXCoin going to be the 'white label' of all other alt-coins?

Why, it looks like the reddit guy is willing to cover a bunch of the costs.  Nice!

I guess everyone that sent money to the Cent Dump is feeling sad now...I just need it to get to 0.00000001 BTC and my family and I's life is completely changed Cheesy lol

lol 1 satoshi and i think i would wet myself! that would be a house completely paid off and a couple of hundred BTC left over!

Iwent out for a couple of beers with a mate 4 hours ago and came back to this!

I cant be happier :-) been waiting for this moment for ages and explained it to the wife how i thoought it would go and im completely surprised at how accurate i was! hopfully the year long prediction i carried on explaining to the wife that involve the house, yacht, cruise, holiday homes buying Dubai and all that comes true aswell! (im thinking it might not be 100% realistic but i can dream! :-) )

cant be happier for anyone that has been waiting for the rise and i look forward to posting again when it hits 0.00000500 and it makes me a millionaire :-) (i said i can dream Tongue)

Roll some of that into iXcoin.  Speaking of being accurate, Vlad has been accurate about so much - and it doesn't hurt to diversify.  I'm thrilled to have gotten into CENT at the bottom and I'm planning to buy more iXcoin with my profits.

I agree with the guy who says once it breaks 10 it's gonna run wild.  At this pace it's gonna only take a few days.  Somebody wants into this thing in a big way.

Big plans on the way.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 23, 2014, 09:42:06 PM
There's 17 million coins out there.  I have such a hard time believing $.11 is too low giving almost all those coins were either mined for free or bought at 1 Penny or lower.

So why isn't any other coin with that many coins outstanding not behaving this way?  Especially for a coin supposedly nobody wants.  Why aren't the pools and miners dumping everything they have?  It just doesn't add up.  Out of 17 million coins there should be a few million with low standards or in need of quick easy profits and we have never seen that on this coin.  It really makes you wonder what's going on behind the scenes.

4th market using CENT

Why would they do this?

Ironically, because CENT proved XPM is not enough for cheaper or highly diluted coins.  CENT wanted and deserved to be priced lower but it simply couldn't.

So how long before someone (like Vlad with his ShitCoin) figures that out and releases a CrapCoin with 100 trillion coins.  Such a coin would garner a huge value not cause it's good but simply cause there is nothing cheap enough and liquid enough to price it with.

CENT is perfectly named and perfectly fit (now) to be the perfect currency base for a 4th market which will deal with ultra cheap coins (like NXT, LOTTO, SHT, etc) and ultra diluted coins.  With hundreds of new coins coming out there's gonna be a lot of those and unless they use CENT then someone like Vlad can come along and Greatly and profitably game the system.  I believe that was one point he was trying to prove, that with 100 trillion coins he could have had a top ranked coin even though it was a total ShitCoin.  Good for us that the name itself kept the coin from being listed otherwise he would have proved to be correct.

Re: destruction of coins to reduce float.
I just realized that Cryptsy probably has the most coins and most of those are probably the interest coins. I think if they destroy a large chunk of the interest coins they have it will be a win win for Cryptsy, and everyone invested in CENT. If anyone knows Vern, pls forward this idea to him and see what he thinks. Thanks

Lol.  How would destruction of trillions of their own coins be a win for Cryptsy?

Why wouldn't they rather buy up even more at the rock bottom price of 1 XPM-Satoshi and when they're done accumulating then they announce a 4th market using CENT which would take cent up at least 5 fold, especially if they remove their trillions off the market and then slowly unload their large share over a period of mo ths into any major buying price spikes.

That's the smartest move unless you'd go destroy large chunks of your coins to help out everyone else.
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 23, 2014, 06:48:25 AM
Vlad, I love the SmartMoney angle and it's obvious that's where digital money is gonna be very soon.

So why don't we really start pushing iXcoin as the first SmartMoney in an attempt to be the official SmartMoney out there.

For that to be legit we need Friction to add something to the code, like colored coins, but much more simple to implement as soon as possible.  Cause 3 months is too long and I think someone else is gonna see this and run with it and we'll be the metoo coin which really sucks.

Let's make sure we do the press release right.   It's not like we have a ton of development coin funding.

Press releases should be only once every 3-6 months.   Too many, dilutes the message.   So if you need to, try to cram in as much as you can.

Also, we have to choose out battles.  We can't play the popularity contest against the likes of DOGE.  So time tested, mature is the current angle we have.    Hope this brings in the smart money.

Truth is, we got two main competitors  NMC and DVC.  Both have flaws:

NMC - Really resting on their laurels,  these folks really don't make an effort to push their cause.
DVC -  These folks are active.  They've already sent out their press release.  Consult it for ideas.   The problem I see with it is that 90% of all mined coins go to contributors and currently the way it is distributed doesn't have much structure.   So people who are investing will demand higher accountability.

Very good point - We need to stay focused.

I also agree about the competition.  Namecoin doesn't seem to ever do anything and not to mention they had a horrible death late last year.  I remember reading about it on their thread.  Also, isn't Namecoin very specialized - I mean, it's not ideal for a general purpose coin - it's more about domain names so it's not a good fit for other things.  So Namecoin is out of the running for global adoption in my opinion but that didn't stop it from going from .$001 (one tenth of 1 penny) last year to $1 (that's -1,000 fold) and now with the latest run it went to over $10.  So that coin went up some 10,000 fold, which has never happened in the history of the stock market (according to the Vlad).  And it did it in under 12 months, and with no marketing and with nothing really ground breaking or special.

As for DVC, it has a great community and it is a well known coin but yes, miners get very little and the dilution (infinite) turns off any new investor who knows anything about investments or stocks which where the smart money comes in.

So, out of all the classic, old school coins, the most secure in the world that only leaves iXcoin and iXcoin has so many good attributes that I really becomes a no brainier.  From it's shocking similarity to Bitcoin to its benefits with nine of the stigma and negatives which Bitcoin carries to the fact iXcoin can be molded and shaped exactly as needed to become a true SmartCurrency, a currency which can be pushed out to the masses and easily understood (because it's just like Bitcoin) and integrated (cause anything which recognizes Bitcoin can be made to recognize iXcoin) so much so that it almost looks like it was planned out all along.

I wish I had money right now to buy more iXcoin cause although there may be new "hot" coins like dogecoin, those coins honestly don't look like they'll be popular or even around in 6 months, let alone 3 years and its funny how none of those devs understand the security factor cause they all keep pushing out scrypt CrapCoins so even though there's hundreds of coins out, there's really very very few which can even compete with iXcoin and it doesn't appear that all these wonderful devs even get it.  I love it - iXcoin stands alone and all these new coins aren't doing anything to even challenge it (on the security side).  Lol.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RazorLove Cryptocurrency Services - DBL, CENT, & FOO/BAR Updates on: January 23, 2014, 03:24:22 AM
Does anybody think this is just a repeat of around 31st December? A big push to get it to 2 or 3, then it will just fail and we'll be back to 1 with another massive wall to get past.

Is there actually anyone working on websites or uses for this coin or is everyone just throwing ideas around and not bothering to do anything? The websites that were created haven't changed in over a month and the links on one of them don't even work. The other just has an image and a hidden forum.

There was no big push to do anything.  This is simply what happens when buyers show up.  The idea is to try and guess what the buyers are thinking.  Is it just new buyers who see a cheap coin or do we have the same concerted effort which I felt were trying to buy up a big chunk of cent in order to profit from it after putting it to use.

My best guess was that Cryptsy would use it as a fourth market currency which would of course create a massive spike in demand so that may still be going on.  This is just speculation given cent is looking near death so who would spend over 20 Bitcoin now buying up nearly 1 trillion?  It just add up since most who wanted cent probably already bought it so who then, is buying now?

Any ideas?
