Having seen coins meant for everything from powering wireless plans to identity verification to renting disk space, I truly wonder if anyone actually uses these coins for anything other than trading. Do any of you actually use altcoins for their related goods/services, or do you just load up with the intent of turning it in to BTC?
I think it's nice to dream about becoming the Warren Buffett of crypto, but I don't think that will happen without a sizable initial investment and lots of time to get very in-depth with different markets.
Personally, I gave myself a couple hundred dollars to start playing around with and see where I could take it. If I lose it all it won't hurt me, but if I manage to do well I can continue to trade and invest without adding more of my income from my "real" job until I feel much more comfortable. I think with enough trading savvy and maybe a little mining on the side I should be able to grow my investment and increase my spending money, though I don't see quitting my job to do this full time as a viable option.
I'm in the same boat right now, but I've just been getting in to trading altcoins as a hobby for a week now. I'm viewing my initial losses as the cost of learning (definitely made a few boneheaded mistakes already), but I think with time I will be able to recoup and maybe even make a little extra.
Seems pretty stable right now, perhaps getting ready to rally? Also it's great to see the OP still taking part in the discussion after 360+ pages! Here's to Verge's bright future
It would be nice to hit that $500 mark people keep talking about, but I doubt it will happen. I'm just hoping I can cash in on a good price before it drops and stabilizes
