$27B British asset manager Ruffer Investment makes a $15 million Bitcoin bet
Ruffer Investment has revealed that it purchased $15 million worth of Bitcoin in November via one of its multi-strategies funds.
The company views the Bitcoin bet as an insurance policy against currency devaluation.

The way the title is phrased makes the claim a bit funny, 15 million dollars/pounds of BTC will not protect 27 billion from currency devaluation, at least not in the short term !

However, it would be an interesting result for all of us if it turned out to be an effective hedge

As a Texan and Republican, do you support Allan West, Texas GOP Chair, in calling for a break up of the United States?

Technically Libertarian. I’m not sure how I feel about talk of secession. Gut tells me it’s a bad idea.

Ok. Could you kindly provide a bit more detail?

Why do you think the Texas GOP bringing a bill to secede from the United States is a bad idea?

Bob

As a Texan and Republican, do you support Allan West, Texas GOP Chair, in calling for a break up of the United States?

“The federal government is out of control and does not represent the values of Texans. That is why I am committing to file legislation this session that will allow a referendum to give Texans a vote for the State of Texas to reassert its status as an independent nation,” Biedermann said in a statement.

Does coinmarketcap not show prices denominated in BTC anymore?
279  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 01, 2020, 02:04:00 AM

People/friends started asking about investment in bitcoin.
I tread carefully. The problem is that they always first ask about bitcoin and few months later it turned out that they changed it to something else.
You cannot teach someone a life experience.

Sadly I got a friend into Bitcoin and he got burned daytarding Ripple.  We don’t speak of it again.

at least you speak. I lost a friend in 2017. he saw me bitcoining all year, bought some bitcoin. after ath he told me "bitcoin is old tech" and invested in cardano, ripple and electroneum. I tried to stop him. $60k. family is broke now. all gone. we don't speak no more.

He thought that he was smarter than you, but instead demonstrated his lil selfie to be a dumb fuck.

Pour one out for the homie.   Cry Cry

Yes it’s rough.  Look at all the big block idiots who cooked their own goose - and they were on the Bitcoin train far earlier than me.

We have cried and laugh together, but sure have earned these days and days that have still are coming our ways!!!

Met true friends on this forum cause of this BTC-community, friends for life!
Yup. The weird thing about this forum is that we're all from very different walks of life and have all followed very different paths/philosophies/beliefs and roads.

However all of us have this bitcoin thing in common. And that's a neat thread to bind us all together.

One day we will all fly our black helicopters to the desert, meet, and have one hell of a bonfire party.... Meantime I enjoy the different points of view and common cause.

Fuck you I’m nothing like you my helicopter will be pink
