261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it possible to inherit a gambling debt? on: March 02, 2024, 03:11:15 PM
The high rate of gamblers who take loan for gambling purposes is quite alarming, and most of them are fathers to kids. Most of them don't end up taking care of their debt before passing. What happens to the funds, when the lender comes for his money? It's quite a tough one for a person who isn't a gambler to inherit a trouble from a gambling dad. Such things also increase the anger of the society on gamblers, because the addicts are, also, good at extending their problem gambling to other close relatives. Could it be talked through in the law court?

This is funny to me, how will a right thinking person borrow to satisfy his gambling curiosity I see this as an education in the highest level, the level of gambling this days is becoming something else, though I have not seen where this happens but I don't know if this is legal in anyway, if a gambling addict borrow money to play gamble, if he didn't present the purpose of his borrowing which I know that it is not possible, this matter can be presented to the competent court of jurisdiction because debt is involved but I know that a good money lender can not give his hard earned money out to anyone without a collateral, no matter you use your borrowed money for it doesn't concern the borrower, what matters to him or her is the repayment of the debt.

I really dislike the situation of someone gambling with borrowed money. Such a gambler is clearly not aware of his actions and exposes not only himself and his family, but also the entire gambling community.

In my opinion, to sue the debtor you must have a loan agreement, otherwise you simply can not prove that the transfer of money is a loan. At least this is the case in some jurisdictions.
262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take time to read the terms and conditions of casinos before registering? on: March 02, 2024, 03:05:22 PM
The terms and conditions of casinos and other companies is usually very lengthy and somehow boring for some people. Hence , many people rarely find time to read them. They may actually contain some of the complaints that people raise about some casinos such requiring KYC if there is need or suspicion of money laundering activities.

What is your take on this?
Gambling and casino sites actually feature extra long posts that are in the form of terms and conditions. All those rules and regulations users don't spend time reading. Users create accounts without reading all those conditions, due to which later users face various problems. In particular, various information regarding deposits and withdrawals are mentioned in those terms and conditions.
I usually do not read the terms and conditions of those casinos or gambling sites carefully and carefully before creating an account. I never feel bothered to read all those terms and conditions because they definitely add important updates.

Very often ignoring the reading of the rules and conditions of the casino leads to the fact that the gambler unintentionally violates some of the clauses, which further leads to problems.

Personally, I do not read the terms and conditions of the casino in full, but be sure to look interested in my questions - whether it is allowed to use the casino in the jurisdiction where I live, whether it is allowed to use VPN. These two questions for me are the most important.
263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mom won 50,000$ in Lottery on: March 01, 2024, 06:55:49 PM
Any gambler wants to win such money, but to everyone's regret it is not possible for everyone. There was a time when I bought weekly lottery tickets, but in the end I gave up this idea because I never managed to win even $5000. In addition, I realized that the lottery does not cause me any feelings except regret about the money spent. Slots or poker in this respect bring much more positive emotions, even if not always.
264  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does having children have an influence on gambling habits? on: March 01, 2024, 06:49:34 PM
When you have one or more children, you have heavy responsibilities. Sometimes you're on a tight budget. Can being a parent change our playing habits? Are losses even harder to bear when you're in charge of a family? What are your experiences in this area?

In my experience, having children changes your outlook on life a lot, and it's not just about gambling. You become more responsible in almost everything.

Before I didn't have children I could spend half of my monthly salary in casinos. Now I don't allow myself such spending as my desires are not as important as my children's lives.

Of course there are people who are not changed even by having children, but it seems to me that this is probably an exception to the rule rather than a pattern.

266  Local / Альтернативные криптовалюты / Re: SOLANA on: March 01, 2024, 01:26:44 PM

UPD:

267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: February 29, 2024, 06:17:34 PM
-snip
Unless of course OP wants to have fun with this, and can happily lose the 1%

1% is the safest number to use in gambling for those with low and high incomes. Losing 1% in a week, maybe will not make a gambler regret about it. However, if gambler lose 40% in a week, this is no longer a have fun and i think low budget gambler will regret about his loss. That's why, the suggestion of 1-5% is the safest. but emotional control and management have an important role for gambler to keep their consistency in applying the 1%. Of course, this number can be very small and it could be said it is less possible to expect big wins from 1% if the gambler's income is less than $500 per month.

Exactly. A lot of people have a monthly income of $500 or less. I don't think you can fully enjoy gambling with a $5 deposit. Sometimes $100 to $200 isn't enough for me. So you don't need to listen to anyone about 1%, but just find some extra income to spend on gambling. In almost any country you can find some kind of part-time work. If a person has access to the Internet, there should not be any problems with earning money at all. If a person can not earn extra money for gambling, then it is better not to play gambling at all, but to engage in self-development.

Jupiter:

272  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: February 28, 2024, 04:05:16 PM
Excessive gambling is detrimental to the life of a gambler no doubt, stories, facts and truths have proven this that they suffer a lot of pressure, tension, loses and frustration. I am also concerned about the impact of gambling on the lives of those dependent on the gambler like his immediate family(wife, children, parents and siblings). I have heard stories of children whose early lives were messed up due to the bad habits of gambling addiction of their fathers. A very recent one is one account in this forum which created a topic staring his hatred for gambling and backing his claim with same ugly story of being a product of a home where the father is a gambling addict. He stressed that it ruined his father and affected him disastrously. I know how painful and frustrating it is when your foundation its poor, and the negative effect is massive.

So I want to ask, between the gambling addict and his immediate family, who does the addiction affect the most?

I'm sorry about your story. I know how hard it is to be a family of gambling addicts. This should be a lesson to other people that gambling addiction is not a good thing. I have a friend whose father was addicted to gambling and he is now also a gambling addict. This is especially sad because he became a gambler because of his father, not by his own choice as an adult. I saw his childhood life completely destroyed because his parents often fought. So I think the immediate family suffers the most from gambling addiction. Don't become a gambling addict if you don't want to see people you love suffer.

Everyone is different, but many people have mental health problems that affect their children. It is not necessary to blame all problems on gambling, alcohol, drugs, etc. because all problems come from the person himself. A person may not have any addictions, but this does not mean that he is not a despot to his children. I believe that it is possible to solve any problem and get rid of any addiction - it takes desire! Of course, it is a pity for children who are traumatized by their parents. The only thing I can recommend them is to find a good psychologist to work through these moments and help them forget this difficult experience.
273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: February 28, 2024, 03:54:42 PM
~snip~

If a person needs money, they are clearly doing the wrong thing and need to reevaluate their life. If a person tries to recoup his losses in gambling, it means that he is not able to control himself and he needs to work on himself instead of gambling.

I am sure that such people will blame gambling for all their problems. They will never take responsibility for their actions. I would not recommend gambling to such people, because of their actions many people have a wrong opinion about gambling.
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do people truly risk their money on bets for profit? on: February 28, 2024, 03:42:31 PM

Any person who plays gambling in the first place should realize that for any entertainment has to pay. Casino is not a charitable organization. Rich gambler is well aware of the risks and therefore relate to losses more calmly. Poor gambler apparently does not want to understand that losing in gambling is a mathematical pattern. Why does this happen? Because in most cases, the poor gambler plays gambling for the sake of winning, the rich rather to have fun.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do people truly risk their money on bets for profit? on: February 27, 2024, 06:36:52 PM
I don’t know if I’m really staying my points well but I wish to know if people really have to gamble without intentions of making money?

If I’m to be asked to say my opinion about gamblers, my answer is that; about 99% of gamblers are doing it for money making and not for fun. Why would you risk your money to have fun when their are thousands of other things you can do to have fun without having to trouble your mind or sane self on the thought of not losing the money you’ve just placed on a bet. Gamblers gamble for money and not for fun and that’s just the fact.

Gambling is a high risk game, and as we know, the higher the risk, the higher the profit can be. Of course, most gamblers gamble because of the possibility of winning, some of them do not even realize that they play because they need emotions and of course there are gamblers who get an emotional explosion during the loss / win. You will not get such emotions in a movie theater, on the beach, in a restaurant, strip bar. Of course there are entertainments that can cause a similar emotional explosion - skydiving, bicycle trails, but these entertainments also cost quite expensive and are not available for everyone. In addition, they can lead not only to injuries, but also to death.
276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it ethical to break your gambling rules on: February 27, 2024, 06:27:49 PM
I think ethical is not the right word to use about gambling because it might be unethical to be even gambling and it's somewhat redundant.

If you are talking about yourself and how it's going to be with you, then it's definitely your choice if it's "ethical" for you. I think it's more about the consistency of your choices in life with gambling because you are setting rules but you don't follow yourself. It's about discipline, IMO. That's the better word.

Absolutely agree with you. Discipline is one of the most important aspects of gambling that does not carry negative consequences. And ethics depends very much on where the gambler lives, his religious beliefs, upbringing, etc. By the way, many gamblers do not come to the realization that it is discipline can change not only the view of gambling, but also the results of gambling sessions.
277  Local / Альтернативные криптовалюты / Re: [ETH] Ethereum - мировой компьютер on: February 27, 2024, 06:19:08 PM

280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: February 26, 2024, 12:54:08 PM
Gambling addiction has indeed puts strain on relationships by causing financial problems, emotional distress, and social isolation. While gambling can be fun, becoming addicted can have serious effects,  like having financial problems and communication breakdown. To deal with the reasons of addictions and fix relationship, getting help is very important.
If a person is completely addicted to gambling, it is better not to be in a relationship with him. I try to stay away from people who are addicted to gambling because I know that gambling is an addiction that will destroy the life of the person who gets addicted. Gambling is ours.  Should be taken as entertainment If we want to take it outside of entertainment then our life will be ruined. The less time gambling can be played, the more we can stay away from gambling addiction.

If you do not care about the person who became a gambling addict, it is an understandable decision, but most often in gambling addiction fall dear to us or relatives. To turn away from them when they are experiencing problems and they need the help of the closest people is quite a despicable step.

If I find out that someone I care about is having problems with one of the addictions I will try to help him, besides I always try to talk even with people I don't know very well who get into unpleasant situations. After all, very often a simple dialog can open your eyes to the problem and lead to its solution.
