1224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: April 03, 2023, 03:06:37 PM
I don't know which candidate I would bet on in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't bet on Biden, because I think he's too old to be president. It is clear that the president is just a puppet, but it is not a good idea to put a man who constantly forgets everything at the head of the country. Who knows what document they might give him to sign.
1225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What could be the Symptoms of Getting Loss in gambling According to you? on: April 03, 2023, 02:57:37 PM
I do not think that the sparkling irresponsibility can be conveyed by any symptoms. Virtually every gambler loses a large sum of money and it is good when with this kind of experience comes responsibility and understanding that gambling can only be done with money that would not be sorry to lose. If a gambler does not learn any lessons from the losses, then he had better stay away from gambling, because gambling will bring him only frustration (of course, if he does not turn out to be the lucky one who will win a big score).
1226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chasing looses Vs Finding closure: Any difference? on: April 02, 2023, 03:09:21 PM
Someone who is addicted to gambling to the extent that he sells assets or property just to gamble is very difficult to recover from, even doctors or psychologists will not be able to cure him.
If he can recover, he will not recover completely but rather forget about gambling and when in his daily life he still sees gambling activities he can easily return to gambling and become an addict again.

Gambling addiction must be treated as any other addiction, the first step is to realize that there is a problem, then talk about the problem and the last step is to work on a solution, but most of gambling addicts are chasing looses on the long road, and that never has a happy end.

Betting back to the topic, I don't think is the same, chasing losses is different, and the fact that someone says "I will be betting until win" is a risky move because bad streaks can be really bad and lead to a huge loss.

Any gambler knows that gambling involves a casino advantage, so hoping to win back his past losses is the same as finding a needle in a haystack.

Everyone wants to win at gambling, but how many of us do? How often do we win enough to cover past losses? It seems to me that it happens very rarely. I think that those who gamble simply need to learn how to lose, because this is a very likely outcome of the game.
1227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your local gambling game that you didn’t see in the crypto casino on: April 01, 2023, 02:30:16 PM
It seems to me that in many countries there is a sufficient number of gambling games that are still not represented in casinos and especially such games are many among card games, because each individual nation plays its own card games of chance. And they are somewhat similar to others, but sometimes have important distinctive features. I will not name the games that are in my country and they are not available in the casinos, but I am 100% sure that in every country there are such games.

Quote
Poor people get addicted to gambling very easily. Since they don’t have the brains to get rich

Plenty of poor clever people exist.   A lack of variety or experience in large gains would make the gambling larger then life so be more disruptive perhaps.   A rich person in theory is gambling a lower percentage of their net worth, a greater amount of wealth is not liquid so cannot be gambled perhaps.   The poorer parts of an economy or population tend to have far higher worth in purely cash positions, weekly wages etc. so in that sense more harm is possible.   Poor people also suffer most from inflation for example.

I am not an expert in analytics, but it seems to me that the poor do gamble more than the rich, but this is not because they have no brains, but because they are less financially educated, and some of them are not educated at all. Also, when you have very limited money, your entertainment is also very limited, and of all the possible ways to spend the evening after work, you are left with a bar, a strip bar, gambling, or computer games. A rich person can afford a wider range of entertainment.
1229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The future of CBDC in gambling. on: April 01, 2023, 10:09:23 AM
The governments of many countries are always introducing innovations ostensibly to improve the safety and quality of life of their citizens. In fact, all innovations, including CBDC, are introduced in order to better control financial flows. I think that no one needs to explain that after the introduction of CBDC, the government will be able to freeze funds in any unwanted purse. As for the casinos, they will simply be forced to integrate payments into CBDC.

Join the discussion by extending the list if possible.

You can add this

A person who is desperately in need of money can do anything to get money. Gambling is a shortcut to money and many fall for this trap.
So people who are desperately in need of money will easily get addicted to gambling.

Gambling is not a shortcut to money, but an entertainment that constantly requires money! If a person does not understand this, it is better not to talk to him about gambling at all and to protect him from gambling experience, because most likely the wrong idea about gambling will lead to his problems. In order to gamble, you must have not only free money, but a sufficient level of self-control.
1232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Neymar Loses €1M in Casino in Just an Hour on: March 31, 2023, 04:57:03 PM
Liberty means that anyone can do whatever they want as long as they are not hurting other people. Neymar didn't gamble with anyone's money, he didn't lose anyone else's money, he didn't broadcasted it so that addicted people should watch, he didn't force anyone to watch, and he didn't lose on purpose to make others feel better about their loss neither.

It was his own money, his on computer, his on webcam, his own twitch channel, if YOU end up watching him and get a bad lesson out of this, that's your fault. You can't claim its unethical just because what he did put a wrong psychological thought into your brain, that's what you did, not him. I believe he has every right to do this as he wants.

I absolutely agree with you. Neymar can do whatever he wants and if someone doesn't like what he does he can just stop watching him. Neymar does not owe anyone anything and can dispose of his money the way he wants - he can lose all his money gambling, or give it away to charity. It's his choice. And those who do not like it probably just envy him.

~snip~

It seems to me that Neymar with his action once again reminded us all how you can lose money very quickly in gambling. I also don't really like that celebrities show their followers gambling, but only because it can be seen by underage children. Although on the other hand it's their personal choice and we can't influence this situation in any way.

1239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Skill Based Slot Machines on: March 29, 2023, 03:04:19 PM
I prefer to play traditional slots, where the outcome of the game depends on luck rather than skill. If I want to test my strength I play poker or any other gambling game in which I have the opportunity to influence the outcome of each individual move. In my opinion slots is not a game to think. Slots is more of a quick gamble just for fun.

Many of us are used to playing on centralized gambling sites with the ability to ask support questions, deposit and withdraw funds in multiple cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies. Most of us still trust the reputation of the casino rather than the smart contracts on which all casino activity would take place. It seems to me that in the future all casinos will be decentralized. It's just easier now to get a license and attract users to traditional gambling than to decentralized gambling sites.
