261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are the world’s governments not using cryptocurrencies? on: December 04, 2019, 11:33:28 AM
Some of them might use some cryptos as one of the parts of their financial reserve (maybe with seized BTC and other cryptos?). But the point here is the volatility.
More likely is that some special services might be using them already for years as speaking of their grey/black budgets.
It is impossible, they won't and they don't even try using it as one of the parts of their financial reserve. You said it yourself, volatility is what makes them stop about the idea of using bitcoin. It is not just risky but they cannot afford to have losses just because of its price changes.
https://www.newsbtc.com/2019/07/22/bulgaria-big-on-bitcoin-as-reserves-could-exceed-its-gold-stash/ - seized BTC it is.

263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have there been any money laundering schemes that used cryptocurrency? on: December 04, 2019, 11:03:35 AM
Actually, money laundering is keep increasing in our society and scammers are using cryptocurrencies to get money from others. It is the reason why the governments are creating more laws and regulation to it. There are politician who are not favor in cryptocurrencies that's why there are still countries that are not still regulating it.

The problem with scammers using cryptocurrencies is that unlike with card payment (or in some jusrisdictions wire transfer as well) you are not able to reverse transaction - the most notable exemption to this case is the series of events which lead to hard fork between Ethereum and Ethereum Classic.
264  Economy / Economics / Re: Does halving really create deflation? on: December 03, 2019, 02:54:12 PM
Historically the price of bitcoin starts to increase well after halving and to reach the rally frenzy it will take over an year, we have experienced those in the past and we expect the same in the future too but you cannot call the current market situation in a bear trap, the market was stable for a while and if the market is not having the strength to move higher usually it will have a shake up and that is what we saw in the past few weeks.

Each new BTC price cycle is longer than a previous one, and this time we have as well rather bearish factor called FATF guidelines.
265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quantum computing is not really a Bitcoin problem. on: December 03, 2019, 02:51:36 PM

If they have the quantum computer, they probably attack satoshi's wallet the first chance they got. However it might be very difficult for them to do it since satoshi had never publicly done any transaction for the public key exposure.

What about other BTC, which were lost on early days, when HDD had been getting broken etc.?
266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have there been any money laundering schemes that used cryptocurrency? on: December 03, 2019, 02:47:17 PM
This is exactly why FATF created its guidelines, which potentially can paralyze the whole cryptocurrency market. As well, considering that privacy coins have the anonymous transfer modes, which somehow can break the transaction trace - here is the reason why those privacy coins are treated by authorities of many countries with full hostility, and even forcing exchanges to remove them from the list of available ones.
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google possesses threat to bitcoin. What do you say? on: December 02, 2019, 02:24:31 PM
Basic Google threat to Bitcoin (like anything else) is that because of the fact it is almost a monopolist on the search engine market. Because of that google in the very first place they can manipulate search results to promote content of specific type.
Example - you google "how to buy Bitcoin", and the first page would consist only doom and gloom information about Bitcoin (like hacks, or how low went BTC during the last downtrend or some articles claiming BTC is used for criminals), and only on second or third page there will be the first information related to what you have been searching for.

Alternatively, there will be no search results - or like with youtube they own "This content is not available in your country".
268  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Is there anyway to buy alcohol online with bitcoin? on: November 29, 2019, 04:13:55 PM
What do you mean exactly?
I am not sure to understand  Smiley
Comparing "En primeur" price (its value in BTC) and the final sale value (and how much "en primeur" paid BTC price is worth now in USD).
269  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Is there anyway to buy alcohol online with bitcoin? on: November 29, 2019, 03:39:55 PM

The process you are mentioning (reserve the wine for the future) is called "En primeur" of "wine futures". It is a method of puchasing wines and invest before the wine is bottled.
It is very popular in Bordeaux area and this service is provided by Bordeaux Negociant (you can't buy Classified Growths at the Estate directly).

Purchasing to a Bordeaux Negociant ensures traceability and pristine strorage conditions, which are crucial in the wine industry.

Our companies (Lasserre & Papillon for B2C and btc-wine.com for B2B) are the only one Bordeaux Negociant to accept crypto currency as payment.

Fine wine are a great asset to diversify you portfolio into a tangible one (It could hedge crypto's market fluctuation as a tangible USDT!)

Would you be so kind to give us such comparison?
270  Local / Polski / Re: Wytyczne FATF on: November 29, 2019, 02:33:36 PM

271  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy bitcoin with credit card on: November 28, 2019, 12:12:45 PM
hi,
is someone accept credit card as payment option for trading, I will like to buy bitcoin

You can try some of the exchange that accepting credit card like Binance, Coinmama, Coinbase,
Localbitcoins, Cex.io, Kraken, and 24option, also City index. These are the exchange platform who
are accepting payment using credit card.
Yes! Ive seen a lot of exchanges that offers to trade your credit card money to bitcoin, but I dont want to use credit card, it has a limit and also an interest every month. If you have a money invest it do not use credit card. I think in order for you to register your cc to the exchanges you need a fully verified account.

Depends from the exchange, for us (Linkkoin) card verification is an element of verification procedure as well.
Moreover, we ask our customers to cover CCV code on the back and part of the card number itself. As well it is often spoken about credit cards in general - but in fact, debit cards work exactly the same as credit cards when speaking of using them online.
272  Local / Polski / Re: Wytyczne FATF on: November 27, 2019, 06:00:43 PM

https://bithub.pl/wiadomosci/gielda-kryptowalut-bitbay-monero-regulacje-anonimowe-kryptowaluty/

@Linkkoin Jak sytuacja wygląda u was?

Tutaj akurat są dwie, a będą 3 ścieżki:

1. Molochy wydające karty płatnicze przez dostawców płatności wymagają rozszerzonej weryfikacji użytkowników kupujących anonimowe krypto

273  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Is there anyway to buy alcohol online with bitcoin? on: November 27, 2019, 05:45:47 PM
There are some vineyards with such a good reputation, that you do not buy actual existing wine but you buy (reserve) the wine to be made few years in the future. Then they are stored by these purchasers for the next few years and then sold once again to the final customers on auctions. This is one of the ways people make money by investing in alcohol.

Maybe it would be worth to give a try (even for purely academic purposes), to make a bet like this:

1. Buy XX bottles of such wine for BTC (even if the wine would be stored at someone's else wine cellar)
2. Sell the wine to these final customers on auction
3. Compare the final value of the wine and BTC.

274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It’s dying for the 378th time, so when’s the 379th? on: November 27, 2019, 10:06:14 AM
If bitcoin really dies, then the entire crypto market will die.I don't think that's possible.Lowering the price does not mean death. Cool

Some see death, some see opportunity
275  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this a sign of the next Bitcoin bull run? Or just another bull trap? on: November 27, 2019, 09:55:11 AM

if bull run will happen by December, then well and good, but I will not expect on that, instead I'll wait for it next year where the big event will happen.

First, we had a death cross recently (triggering right now), and as well in the past in most of the years, the second half of December was always a downtrend due to upcomin taxation period, Christmas or cashing out for winter holidays. Unless there will be a bull run triggered by some whale, you can accumulate BTC cheaply, but do not expect much return yet, we are still away from 2020 bull run.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Hit As Per The Experts Predictions? on: November 26, 2019, 05:43:58 PM
What are your predictions for BTC by the end of year and why?

Cheers!

One of the many predictions here:
1. We had this month a cross of death (50&200 day MA), which usually gives us shorter/longer
2. For most of its history, BTC because of such things like taxes, Christmas and winter holidays, its price is starting to go down ~19-20 of December each year.
3. May 2020 - BTC halving is a major bullish factor.

So then our magical orb claims this time we might see lows like ~$5000 levels and then enjoy all the way up until 5-6 weeks before halving itself, this is usually when the hype train ends.

Of course, all of these predictions may turn out to be a huge miss, subject to some other factors (whales, legislation, hacks etc.) which may turn over the tide.
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All of you Bitcoin Hodlers are mentally ill - *Must Read! on: November 25, 2019, 05:27:18 PM

Some poor bastards tried to cut their losses at 4k USD not long ago and a month later Bitcoin was worth more than 10k. Any good advice for them?

As always - go against the tide, during panic sells you buy, when greed blinds people you sell. And buying when the breakfast tv is fuelling the hype is the worst decision you can make (unless you will keep BTC in your wallet until the next bull market with new all-time highs takes place).

Of course this is not the most effective way of investing in BTC, but it works if you have little trading skills.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Ups and Downs over the last 10 years on: November 25, 2019, 04:57:09 PM
The best-proven strategy for regarding BTC as a store of value:
1. Late 2017 - the breakfast TV celebrities starting to talk about how awsome is BTC (literally a couple of days before the price began falling down).
2. Late 2018 - OMG BTC is dead, it is a scam (and then price just shortly after started rebounding).

Aka - why you should never trust a mob.
279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It’s dying for the 378th time, so when’s the 379th? on: November 25, 2019, 04:47:14 PM
$700< gains of BTC within just couple of hours, wish we all had been dead like this!
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How exchanges treat the stolen Money? on: November 25, 2019, 12:13:21 PM
There had been some cases already, where stolen funds got frozen by exchanges. As well, with FATF recommendations coming into force, there will be a requirement to verify both sending and receiving parties. This aims to exclude stolen funds from being used. This will have some side effects, like removal of privacy coins from the list of available coins/tokens.
