261  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would you consider a new ATH? on: February 25, 2017, 01:29:54 PM
Don't worry, you'll never have to ask this question when BTC will reach 1350, destroying all previous ATH  Cool

No reason for the rise to really stop. The small dump isn't going to do anything!
262  Economy / Speculation / Re: We all gonna be filthy rich and here is why: on: February 25, 2017, 01:28:45 PM
So having a long breathe and being patient may really extremely pay off in for instance 10 years?!

If you have the money to invest, a long-term plan for owning Bitcoin is probably a good investment.
Even owning 1 Bitcoin would be a good idea for any investor.

I agree, on long term btc might become something that will change your (future) life!
I try to put at least 2 or 3 btc on a side every year, it's becomming harder with the rise of the price but can't say I'm unhappy about that xD
263  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: February 25, 2017, 01:26:42 PM
Gold, the price is always goes up every year, but it is more stable then if you invest for a long period of time I guess gold is the best but if you want to earn in a long period ,bitcoin is good too because the volatile price we can earn fastly and we can earn more that we can imagine so both of them is good

The advantage with gold is that it is very stable, and it has given more returns than any other major investment type (such as bank savings, mutual funds, real estate, and antiques) since the last 100 years.

Are you sure of that?

I don't remember the exact figures right now (anyway, you can find them yourself), but if you had been investing in US government bonds your returns during 100 years (which you refer to) would outperform gold by a good margin. Actually, for the last 40 years gold prices were lagging behind dollar inflation. Regarding gold mines being mostly exhausted today (your other point), there is a huge amount of gold dissolved in sea water, and if someone develops a cheap process to extract gold from it, gold prices will seriously decline

Hmm... Sure but if someone manages to find a way to produce a lots of "whatever metal" for cheap the price will go down...

That's very unlikely to happen. There is not only gold but lots of different metals in sea water, the guy who invents something allowing us to get those metals will change the world so much that it's very hard to predict what will happen ^^

Sounds like tons of empty promises to me.(I asked about a simple main site update months ago and all I got was MUCH the same your getting now from Mcventure)... Hell if i was serious about bringing this coin back I wouldn't have made an announcement until I had at least back up developers. If you buy this coin now you deserve what you get... PERIOD

HINT.... They don't even update the OP to state changes or at lease Remove Justin's Mug (video) from it.... Yea until something MAJOR is announced a spade has to be called a spade. smdh. I was about to put alot of cash in this!
Seems to me that it's the case for most altcoin in fact...
Empty projects without much innovation
and in the end a fist in your rectum.

That's all you get from altcoins.

You're a new user I can't really risk sending you money first.
and you dont have any trade on your feedback profile so also cant take this risk sending u first we can use escrow

Anyone who would scam for 10€ with a hero account is an idiot!
But if you feel safer I got no problem to use an escrow as long as you're the one paying the fee Smiley
nowdays i seen hero mzmber scam so only will deal with escrow
I let you chose and contact him then!
Paypal money is ready I'll send whenever you've put the btc into escrow Smiley

268  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin has gone beyond gold prices on: February 24, 2017, 05:14:32 PM
- It proves Bitcoin is a great guy, Bitcoin becoming a top choice for investment. "Bitcoin has now exceeded the gold price", this is something everyone has wanted, a product that can replace gold and paper money in the future. Well, I've heard that in the future, Bitcoin will combine with gold, i don't know it is right or wrong, but if true, it would be great for investors like me. Bitcoin will open up a whole new world, I hope for this too much

Well I still doubt btc can replace gold...
It's just not the same purpose. BTC is useless as fuck when you think about it ^^
While gold still has some real use and value even if limited.

Lots of coins released day by day, but this don't looks as bad as some others coins.
At least they are not trying to raise hundreds of bitcoins for absolutely nothing and sounds legit that the team want to use ICO as tool for raise funds for future developments.
Think they can reach the target easily here, i'm out of PoW mining phase but i'll take a look when the ico is launched.
yes, agree and low market cap its easy jump 2-3x the value.

How is this coin any different? Oo
I fail to see any kind of innovation here...
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: RISE | Under Construction on: February 24, 2017, 05:08:09 PM
McVenture - can we get a little insight here.  lots of FUD, for obvious reasons - can we get a roadmap or something or everyone is going to dump again.  i am trying to care about rise but you guys are not great with the communication thing.  maybe update twitter ?  let investors know what is going on please. thanks

Hi Seektree, all the info available to me has already been released through the post of Scifi.rem (Rise co-founder) earlier this week, see below. Since then there hasn't been anything new to announce yet. The team is busy finding a new developer to replace Justin/Richard/Nathan (Don't Panic Consulting). This has the highest priority. Only after we have a new developer/dev team saddled up a new roadmap can be devised. As soon as more info comes available it will be posted here. Thanks.

Development Update:

We have a fairly big announcement. We are in the process of restoring investor confidence and part of that process is to reward our current Rise token holders, as well as getting delegates forging as soon as possible. Even though we are currently on this path, it’s only fair to mention that we had hit a bumpy road.

Previously, we have been pulling teeth, trying to get updates from our development team. It had gotten to a point where we were instructed to formulate emails as the “method” to reach them. Days had turned into weeks and even after many promises of daily updates, we still didn’t see progress. Many of you guys had stressed your concern as well.

We were then told by Justin that his development team needed more funds to continue the project. After close examination, and to prevent our funds from becoming more depleted with little to show for it, we discontinued funds to Don’t Panic (Justin’s business). As a result, Don’t Panic including our co-founder Justin walked away from the project.

However, we have acted quickly and are working with another developer right now. We will let everyone know who this is in an upcoming announcement. All Rise 2.0 work so far has been transferred to our new developer. Before we move further on that, we have decided that we will push out Rise Classic by cloning Lisk to get delegates forging and earning rewards ASAP.

We had relied on Justin’s promises that Rise 2.0 code base was going to be “easy enough” for him and we counted on his insight, such as promising a working prototype by December. It was moved to January, and then to February. And nothing came to fruition. “More funds” was never part of our original agreement with him.

So we have decided to move quickly and get Lisk cloned and delegates forging (Rise Classic) while Rise 2.0 is looked at by our hired new developers. We don’t want to waste any more time on this. In addition, we will be rewarding our token holders by providing them with Chipz which is explained below.

We are in negotiations with an online casino software supplier with the aim to launch a fully operational online gaming platform that will operate using Chipz tokens as the currency. Rise holders will receive Chipz tokens based on their holdings. The value of Chipz will be determined by the free market as soon as it hits an exchange. In order to use the casino players will be required to purchase Chipz tokens... Chipz will be available for purchase direct from the casino converted at the current market price or from an exchange. As soon as fiat gateways are available on the Waves network the casino will begin accepting fiat tokens that can be used to instantly purchase chipz for use in the casino.

More details to be revealed as we advance the Chipz project.

McVenture and myself will check in regularly this week here at the forums to make sure we answer any questions you guys have. Thanks. And let’s get this project rockin’. Good things to come!

Rem

One question, did you guys dump the dev premine too at bittrex ? Or is it still there ?

Ahahah!
I love the question
"do you guys still believe in your own project or did you already leave?"

272  Economy / Gambling / Re: Investing in btc casinos on: February 24, 2017, 10:33:46 AM
People, don't spread incorrect info. OP made most of his money on Betking when a single guy lost 1k BTC betting over a few days. That s it. Pure luck, one time opportunity. After that it s only very limited wins and loses. In the end, there might be some profit but it ll be far, far way from 40%.

If I'm not wrong, it is not a one time win because as per me betking profits grow quite gradually over the time but only one time there was some sudden jump, but surely it was not a 40% at one time. Investments take time to turn your money into profits.

Yeah but there is a difference between seeing your money grow steadily and hitting the jackpot like the 1k btc lost xD

That was a freaking too high amount of money, of course it made a huge profit to EVERYONE
273  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitstamp ATH 1180$ and rising!!! on: February 24, 2017, 10:20:42 AM
i would not get overexcited as usual to only discover that i was only a delusional, when the dump will begin again

a reasonable target is now 1500, or the next mental barrier, i can safely say that there will be a play in the $1200-$1500 range

i understand that here the big pump is always possible, but if we can really go that high it will fall even quickly later, i don't like that, but i guess it's good if you can predict it and sell at the top...

A big pump really?
Don't know, the up trend has been rather slow
If it was a pump that was a slow but powerful one!
Usually pumps go much faster no? This seems... Natural and stable to me :/
274  Economy / Speculation / Re: That's time that's sure : we are in a pump on: February 24, 2017, 10:18:47 AM
I am stunned...I don't even know what to do with my BTC right now.  I want to keep holding, but I could buy so much useless stuff right now for cheap...

...but if I do that, I know the price will shoot even higher....

The only thing you should do with btc: hold

Or gamble with it Cheesy

But never sell your btc, when it'll reach 5k you'll be more than sorry xD
275  Economy / Speculation / Re: This pump is not sustainable. on: February 24, 2017, 10:17:59 AM
Damn who the hell can handle the shorts? xD

I'm really impressed by people actually earning money during the corrections
I can't predict shit concerning them, just too hard

What I see is that it's time for hoooooooooooooooooooold Cheesy
276  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITSTAMP ALL TIME HIGH BROKEN on: February 24, 2017, 10:16:24 AM
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahou!

Damn I'm glad I haven't shorted when we reached the 1050$!!!
The people who did must feel like so fucked xD

BELIEVE
277  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is no longer a currency on: February 24, 2017, 10:12:09 AM
Hmmm
Technically btc has never been a currency
It's like every "coin" like ethereum too for example
It's a token linked to the blockchain technology
but the consequence is that... You can exchange this token considering it has a certain value... So it's like it's a currency ^^
278  Economy / Economics / Re: Where can i invest my money? on: February 24, 2017, 10:10:08 AM
I do believe that the money always goes to money. If you were born in a rich family then you have all chances to become rich. If you were born in a poor family your ultimate dream is to become a top Manager in a large company.
People who have more money then they have the chance to make more and more, but I think it s also a game of luck some time a financially weak person find an opportunity and he make a lot of money with a very very little investment. And good planning and strategy also give you chance to make money with little investment.

That's why rich people will always become rich but if you are an aspiring poor guy that has dreams in your life. You need to invest, you cannot be rich by just simply working along with a company that pays the same amount of monthly salary. And you can invest into bitcoin if you can look on its price, if you bought it earlier with lower price. You can become rich with it.

When I think there was a time faucets gave btc...
Yeah, real btc, like you entered a catcha and boom, you got 1 btc
the guys who believed in the tech must be soooooooooooooooooooo rich
like sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo rich ><
279  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: February 24, 2017, 09:50:47 AM
I don't see much possibilities of investment on this thread :/

Well it's not very surprising...
The only "legit" thing I've found here will be casinos so...
Yeah it's great and all, but you still take high risk for peanuts ><
280  Economy / Marketplace / Re: ZERO Confirmations after 48 Hours on: February 24, 2017, 09:46:41 AM
I sent .1 BTC to a friend with a 0.001 Transaction Fee on 21 Feb 2017 (48 hours ago).

I never had a transaction confirmation take this long?  I looked on blockchain.info and it shows Zero confirmation on my address and then receivers address.

Is this something I should be concerned about, or just keep waiting?  Is there anything I can do.

Thanks

The 0.001 fee doesn't mean a lot... How many inputs/outputs for the transaction? The fee is based on the transaction size (in bytes), the transaction size is based on the amount of inputs and outputs. In other words, a 0.001BTC fee might be overkill in case you only used 1 input to create 1 output, or insufficient in case you used 50 inputs to create 2 outputs.

Maybe you can post the tx id, in that case i can have a look what's wrong (hint: in 99% of the cases, it's an insufficient fee)

You really have cases where 1mBTC fee isn't much? Oo
How do you know how many inputs and outputs will be needed though? You can only know once you've launched the transaction no?
