261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Many big powers agains crypto on: December 27, 2019, 01:15:00 AM
By the looks of it seems it actually may be a targetted attack on a niche of crypto youtubers.
https://twitter.com/VitalikButerin/status/1210028097996820481?s=09
https://twitter.com/ChicoCrypto/status/1209891720827006976?s=19

Some say about (a) certain telegram group(s) that orchestrated the attack, others blaim BSV, some go to the extent of claiming big dump ahead (did not unserstand if btc or alt) and "they" want to shut theese guys up (tho to be fair the Craig Wright theory may be slightly more plausible IMO).
Whatever it would be, seams YT may not be the main culprit here, which is good news either way Smiley
Seems they would need to tweak their community report system as looks like it may be exploited by a certain group. What is the end game is anyone's guess.
262  Other / Meta / Re: Anyway to limit the virus ANN scam? on: December 26, 2019, 12:18:51 AM
So there is any effective way to prevent this happenning again?

Prevent them from posting... NO. Prevent users from falling for this scam... YES. By getting infected and losing all their crypto. Hey, didn't say it would be a free lesson! Once you pay for something you remember it and are more likely to use it in the future.

The free tips are always the same: do your own research, use only open source, compile the wallet yourself, check user feedback/post history, check github account etc.
I am shoked at the number of posts "win wallet pls" after a few others in red and bold with "VIRUS, DO NOT DOWNLOAD". I guess it's a darwinistic behaviour, natural selection and whatnot. Hope not Idiocracy...
263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Many big powers agains crypto on: December 25, 2019, 01:07:04 PM
It is clear why it may also seem as an organized attack on certain youtubers, but 2-3 year old videos have also been taken down, some even 10years. If someone who has 10k users flags/reports some videos and they are actually taken down then there is a huge flaw in YT TOS. But I doubt such a huge platform under Google's umbrella lacks in that department.
Not sure what to think about this. Some articles claimed videos were about bitcoin, cardano and iota, but general info, trading details and concepts etc.
Out of the youtubers in op I am subscribed to chico crypto. Saw a few vids and there is no bias or affiliation.
https://youtu.be/tKc3eq3_lFI . Video has 12 min if you have the time...
264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Many big powers agains crypto on: December 24, 2019, 11:04:24 PM
I just read this article and it really startled me. Seems "the big boys" are not betting on the crypto horse and would hope to see it die out.
Guess that is no news but when social media platforms are applying this type of censorship it crosses some limits in my book.
https://news.bitcoin.com/speculation-abounds-regarding-youtubes-removal-of-crypto-content/
Is this the beginning for a new crypto exclusive youtube clone?
265  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I start earning BTC? on: December 16, 2019, 12:32:29 PM
... I don't have much to invest...

Prepare to lose all you invested! This is the first step. If you feel comfortable losing that amount then that's how much you should invest (not only in crypto... more of a general rule)
Install some wallets, Bitcoin Core, Electrum, MyEtherWallet (make sure you download from official link! no short-link or any bs like that) and try to get familiar with them. Lots of malware out there, please also read here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1652275.0 .
Then take a step back and think: what can you do ?
Any freelance work that can pay in crypto (BTC or any other): translations, design, coding, any service that you can provide ... (would recommend talking a look in all boards and reading stickies .. will help a lot with forum interaction), participate in bounty campaigns and see what fits you better.

266  Other / New forum software / Re: A feature to fastly switch orders & contents of columns in table (Suggestion) on: December 12, 2019, 02:27:53 PM
... Correct but if such things can be built-in the new forum software, why not?

Quick tip:
1. copy the table bbcode in notepad
Code:
[table]..[tr]..[td]...[/td]...[/table]
2. replace "[" and "]" with "<" and ">"
3. save as *.html
4. open with Excel/Libre and go crazy with the columns

Takes 1 minute of your time but for forum devs maybe weeks of programming and hundreds of lines of code. Also I don't think it would be a feature used by more then 10 users here. Does not seem to be worth it.

Just as an idea, took me a week of learning angular to make a new page for a dynamic website and display some details from db.

267  Other / Meta / Re: Why not tokenize the forum? on: December 07, 2019, 11:10:38 AM
If you want to tokenize the forum have a look here
The idea is not completely bad but there are just 2 things wrong.
1. It will not de descentralized as there would be a major authority... Theymos (pretty much like btc and satoshi). And whatever he sais goes!
2. This is not a multinational company type of place. Tho it would have had the possibility to become one for a while...

P. S.
Each of us could use some bitcoin, but the world need blockchain dude Smiley
The world needs Bitcoin, not blockchain.
268  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Bitpay Big Exploit? - 323 btcs sent to unknown address on: November 29, 2019, 11:21:22 AM
Weird things happen
The ~294 BTC still in Bitpay address

Seems case is closed since github issue was also closed.

https://github.com/bitpay/copay/issues/10364

OP, how did this story end ? Got the $2.5M back ? (I get chills when just writing that amount...)

...I dont have any thread name of the orginal thread because the owner changed it to " . "

User : Nakzone-org

github with the infected download file : https_://github.com/nakzone/nakwallet

Webpage : https_://nakzone.org  is down already

Looks like there was a Malware and Trojan download link on the Wallet Link .

Archive of the Thread : https://web.archive.org/web/20191128190719/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5204448.0;all

There are 127 replies with the thread title Smiley)) "[ANN] Nakamoto [Deployment in ALIPAY]"
website (nakzone.org) was just a forum. SMF with similar almost identical board structure as bitcointalk and contained only german/danish LINK SPAM posts without anything to do with crypto what so ever. No loss there Smiley
270  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] Nakamoto [Deployment in ALIPAY] on: November 28, 2019, 09:19:54 AM

Alipay says it does not want to work with the cryptocurrency industry just for public delivery. Together with Alipay, we are trying to achieve the lifting of the ban on cryptocurrency transactions for banks in China, both for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Therefore, we do not run ahead of the train. Our main goal is the integration of Nakamoto into Alipay and we will do it. Gradually improving, we will actively move our project to the cryptocurrency market. We will be glad to people who will promote the Nakamoto project.

After signing the contract, documents will be attached to the topic

The forum you have in OP contains only spam posts.

Please do not reuse user + passwords on other sites... no matter how trusted they are

What is your presentation site, wp, roadmap, team etc?
Is there a time frame for the AliPay info?
271  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] Nakamoto [Deployment in ALIPAY] on: November 27, 2019, 05:56:15 PM
You scanned the zip archive of Nakamoto wallet for Windows, on The VirusTotal resource showed 10 detections, let's analyze why it happened. NAK Nakamoto-nest.EXE and Nakamoto-service.exe, NAK Nakamoto-Nest.exe, then it will show 0 detections, NAK Nakamoto service.exe, it will show 10 detections.
But, let's take the original turtlecoin wallet and check how many detections it has, in the archive the same files as Nakamoto's wallet, scan, Turtlecoin has a socket.exe 0 detections, Turtle turtle-service.the EXE is almost the same detector, only in 8 detections. Trojan Trojan, this is false information. Are you talking about Trojans? This is false information that you are ruining the project, you should understand it if you understand it.

At last someone who can write a full sentence on-topic. Smiley

It just looks odd that it has so many flags in VT. Will scan turtlecoin myself later to see.
The main concern in my opinion is the Alipay affiliation OP claims as from everything I could find there is no evidence. On the contrary... Pretty much that's my concern.
I am a man and I can admit when I am wrong ( jury not out yet on the trojan part tho)

Not here to kill the project, just to make them prove their words.
Not russian so the smart remark from earlier does not affect me.
Just please shed some light on the AliPay deployment.
NO SITE, NO WHITE PAPER, NO ROADMAP, NO TEAM ... just some words without cover (for now)
If more evidence is presented will change my mind about project.

...The future of NAKOMOTO is the introduction of ALIPAY in China's payment system as an anonymous means of payment in the Chinese market...

Can you please provide some evidence of this ?
Upon a simple search it seems AliPay's position about crypto is not encouraging:

Russians are the most stupid nation.
Considering the above that was the last of your worries...

Quoted for posterity! Even the bump service is going:

273  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] Nakamoto [Deployment in ALIPAY] on: November 27, 2019, 01:09:43 AM

Well that Trojan.Razy is quite a handful it seems.

Quote from: Kaspersky.com
Crazy Razy, bitcoin thief

The Razy Trojan secretly installs malicious extensions for Chrome and Firefox to serve phishing links and steal cryptocurrency.
source: https://www.kaspersky.com/blog/razy-trojan-cryptocurrency-stealer/25454/

Not to mention the way users are replying is weird and clearly unnatural. Makes me believe is probably using a bumping service.

I'm not 100% sure tbh but just being 60% sure on so many wrong things is more than enough for me.

LOTS OF ISSUES WITH THIS. BE VERY CAREFUL !

Github repo seems to be a clone of https://github.com/turtlecoin/turtlecoin + some direct uploads (usually very bad sign)
And after that we also have this:

Seems like there are enough reasons to stay away ! FAR AWAY !
275  Other / Meta / Re: Account hacked and stolen on: November 22, 2019, 12:25:21 PM
~besides if it's really it's his account then he can delete those post the thief just posted if he recovers it.

I can't delete my posts and pretty sure Hero Member status does not come with that possibility. So he can't delete them either. It's just an interesting situation and am a bit curious about the possible outcomes  Huh
276  Other / Meta / Re: Account hacked and stolen on: November 22, 2019, 11:29:41 AM
Can someone please hack my account ? I'll try to get in back 800 posts later  Grin

I know it's just fair to get back what is yours but you lost a bike and now try to claim a car... just saying.
Curious how things like this play out
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cryptocurrency (CCY) Insurance platform for Investors. on: November 20, 2019, 05:04:40 PM
It actually seems like an interesting project. Leaving the other question marks aside can you give us a little more details regarding the insurance part of the project ?

What kind of KYC will you be doing?
What is your initial insurance fund ? Are there / will there be any major investor(s) or you will only use funds from presale rounds ?
Do you have (or planned) partnerships with any major player in the industry ?
Is there a list of insured coins ? Does the max insured percentage change depending on what type of coin I invest in ?

... We have a good idea and we know how all will work....

How will it work actually ?
I can ensure my own wallet with my own coins ? I swap half of my coins with CCY and can deposit/withdraw at any time and if coin goes to 1sat at least I have CCY ?

You can't pre-announce your project 1 year in advance and expect people not to be suspicious.
After MVP we shall see more.
278  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Get Paid in Bitcoin for answering tech questions on: November 14, 2019, 02:19:36 PM
The idea sounds interesting! As others said you might need someone/something to handle disputes
whats stopping someone from just not paying anyone even though they answered the question perfectly? If payment is compulsory how do you filter out spam and false answers or answer which is not what the asker intended?
Not sure if it would be worth the hustle ... but I would suggest making your own coin also.
BTC and "DHARR Coin" for bounties.
Airdrop a bunch so you have a user base and get them familiar with the platform and the flow of things.
Then add on exchange and keep on improving the platform.
It can be anything you dream. It's just code ! Smiley)))

Either path you take good luck with this. I'll bookmark it just in case Smiley
279  Other / Meta / Re: Adding a ‘Use a brand new username’ sign on Bitcointalk sign-up page. on: November 11, 2019, 09:44:25 AM
People are very fond of their usernames. It just so happens that in my case I use a different username than usual, but that's just because the one I usually use was taken.
I don't see any point in having different usernames of each platform. Maybe use a different email address would be a good idea, but for user... just don't see it.

As others before me mentioned: this is our cyber identity. If we are smart and sociable we can get some reputation and make that username mean something. Whatever your username is you probably had it for lots of years, from IRC chat rooms, online games, etc.

Use different email addresses. Don't reuse passwords and make them as complex as you can. But when it comes to username... just be yourself! That's my opinion Smiley
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: sCoin - Cryptocurrency that will change the future of crowdfunding! on: November 07, 2019, 02:09:46 PM
... Development began on sCoin in September 2019 and the platform officially launched in November 2019 ...
So it took you 2 months to "make the experience of participating in an ICO safer, more consistent, and much easier" + a website that does not work.

PRO tip: first register the damn domain and then advertise it !!!

(if anyone else is interested to start a crowdfunding revolution grab the domain for only $7.99)

Also you said the project is something like a kickstarter for ICOs. So... instead of giving money to projects we give them to you. Solid plan !!! I'm sold  Grin
