I have posted about Pizza Day (without the girl), but this day is always mentioned as the first transaction or purchase of Bitcoin and it is not entirely correct, as always V8 has been fast and has warned me, I already modified the post, now it is better, I did not know it either, but I am glad to know that the first Bitcoin transaction was from Satoshi to Hal Finney.

Umm... I guess.

The issue is the first transaction exchanging Bitcoin for a real world good or service. And while it is possible (indeed, I would say likely) that some unnoticed tx fulfilled that role first, the Pizza gets the nod. Hey - we gotta start somewhere.

Good interview, a bit more substantive than the usual cointelegraph fare...

I was surprised to glean a new insight therefrom:

And we realized that interest income is disappearing from our planet. It's an extinct feature of the banking system.

Closing quotes are good too, but may just be a pandering call to action. So I won't quote.

Drumroll please!

I proudly present my new xhomerx hat:

The creation of the hat was a very intense process for xhomerx and I sincerely hope he recovers quickly from all the painful bites he got while trying to squeeze the little critters onto the hat to take a photo.

Creepy. I like it. All it needs to complete is little round glasses.

Can't believe the hat fad is still going on.

It's not a fad. It's a comfortable old garment. Like an old sock.

Hertz has filed for Chapter 11

Lowering the standards such that dead horses may be included in the specification.

FTW

...or something.

what do you guys think about this? problem or not?

Too early to tell. So far, it just looks like the variance to be expected following a halvening.

There was a time one could pretty much read every post on the forum each day. Of course now, if you miss a day or two, just reading all of the WO can be a struggle.

This is incorrect. There are multiple reasons why a running node would restart extraNonce or increment it, and a number of other details that Sergio got wrong. It's really important not to aggrandize Sergio's work, Jimmy, not the least of which is respect for Satoshi's choices.

What’s the relevance? Seems all Greg is saying is “Don’t look over there”.

Ok... your little puzzle hooked me, jbreher.

Who is Greg?

Hmm. I _thought_ it was a 'wink-wink, nudge-nudge, knowwhatimean' open secret that Midnight Magic was the alt Maxwell first uses when seeking plausible deniability.
I could be wrong. I have no proof thereof.

Regardless, what 'midmagic' is spouting has absolutely no relevance upon the veracity of Jimmy's analysis. Whatsoever. It's an irrelevant sideswipe meant merely to confuse and deflect.

O.k.  Thanks for the explanation that still seems a bit of a puzzle to me because I doubt that Greg would be purposefully providing convoluted or misleading information in regards to bitcoin technical analysis.  He might do so in regards to BIG blocker battles, but whatever, I don't know.

Otherwise, you are tentatively thinking that Jimmy Song's analysis adds some value in proclaiming that the coins are NOT likely to be satoshi's.

Well, what Jimmy is saying is that these coins are from a block that do not come from the so-called 'patoshi sequence' (when was this term coined? We've known about this for years, but the 'patoshi' name is new to me). As such, they are not strongly suspected to be satoshi's. Though they could be - satoshi _could_ have also been mining on a machine that was uncorrelated with his main miners. Seems unlikely tho.

What midmagic is saying really has no bearing whatsoever upon the question of whether or not these are satoshi's.  Complete non sequitur.

But I don’t want to have a pizza delivered tomorrow. Corona-Chan is keeping me off prepared foods.

Another puzzle?  "Corona-Chan"  What is that?  You are trying to be funny about the chinese origin of our lil ongoing situation?  Seems to me that other places, besides China, have put their own lil signature on making a possibly bad situation worse... but hey.. difficult to call anything exactly while in the midst of it,  amirite bout dat?

You are on a puzzle roll.  Answer one puzzle with another puzzle, and I wonder how helpful that is...  Are we getting anywhere?  fast?

I did look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morris_Day.... but don't know how much homework I feel like doing in order to attempt to resolve your seeming puzzle proliferations.  Maybe one puzzle just keeps leading to another puzzle and we no don't get anywhere.

Hmmm. Maybe too obtuse? What time is it? It's pizza time, buddy. You, me and Morris can get us some Papa Johns in an international tripartate transaction. In order to celebrate the wonderous works of St. Laszlo of Hanyecz.

HAPPY BITCOIN PIZZA DAY.

Bitcoin transfers are instant.

If you are speaking of BTC, that ceased being true upon the activation of RBF.
Humble plane ticket salesmen disagree. Other than that, you are not worth the trouble.

It has already been pointed out that humble plane ticket salesman has until the time you actually board the plane to nullify your unsettled purchase. Why you persist in publicly humiliating delusion is a mystery.

To 'jberher' - not sure what you are up to here. But you seem to have chosen your username deliberately to be confused with me. I believe this against this forum's terms of use. If you post further, without first providing a tenable explanation for this choice of username, I shall be forced ask the mods to deal appropriately.

Seems to be a breach of protocol.

This is possible.  But it seems unlikely to me.  Someone in that position would almost CERTAINLY be being advised by a cryptographer with a good idea of what these action would portend.

I'm sitting here scratching my head trying to figure out what specific knowledge from the cryptographer's domain could bring to this decision.

And technically it's still 1MB in the code, we just don't have to include all of the transaction data we used to, so we can squish more in.

Well, not really. It's still more than 1MB of data in the block. Relabeling it as some sort of loosey-goosey 'weight' does not change this fundamental reality.
