Just read chancr3's ann on the supernet forum. Thought I'd stop in and catch up with what's happening. Very nice work so far and good to see Bitstare part of the SN core. I look forward to keeping up with latest developments.   Smiley

It looks like the bots are going crazy on bittrex.

Bots (or someone) liked my order at 0.00777  Grin

Edit: and apparently plowing through to lower valleys  Undecided

CZ can you please elaborate on the deal that you did not accept? i.e. who specifically was the "outside" investor and what did they want?

+1
I have no INSIDE INFORMATION, but has anyone heard of a confidentiality agreement? I do business in the solar industry, no one discusses anything without one. I would expect any serious investor to want one.

If its the case here, I don't think we will told any more than we already have. So lets move on.

Jon  Wink

I doubt seriously there is such a thing in a decentralized open source community project, is there? Even if so, we the stakeholders are the investors and should know these dealings: hence "CZ's pre-announcement". These announcements and dealings greatly affect whether and how I/we should increase or decrease stake and trust in this particular investment and community. Who is CZ keeping a secret/protection from, us?

Edit: it is clear imo that this "deal" has put quite a bit of sell pressure on the market and those of us who don't know what went down are out of luck. Although the investment (money) side of it is important, more so is the trust in having a level playing field in the future. I think it would be wise for the devs to be very clear on what happened.

What is the current *correct* block height?

Please calm folks. There is a place for SEO marketers AND C++ coders in this world. Maybe time to drop the argument.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Sia: Siacoin (scn) and Siastock (stk) on: October 09, 2014, 05:56:32 PM
Don't get me wrong. What I'm hoping will happen is Taek replying with "Hey guys, there is a misunderstanding. This is a big bump in the road and the road will take longer than expected, but sianotes will still be extremely valuable one day because I'm confident I will find the solution. I just need some time to sort it out."

Yea, maybe this is the case but none the less sianote holders should see an effort made to place a buy wall imo. A buy wall speaks louder than what you have just written (with all due respect). If the sia team is so confident in producing a product, then they will have no problem placing this. Conversely, if they are "giving up" then they should put up a wall with remaining funds.

A few informative threads about AT for those wanting to understand better. The origin of AT (with CIYAM) began as part of NXT, hence the links.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=463731.0
https://nxtforum.org/automated-transactions/information-of-the-at-project/
http://ciyam.org/nxt/

It's quite clear that as AT (and the corresponding language) is a prerequisite for cross-blockchain communication, the more coins that adopt this the better, say for example a lottery, where increased user base across blockchains increases the payout, etc. Still reading.

Sorry, I must speak up here. I see many words but noting near what was promised when I funding Sia. You plan to wait out another six months in Boston (one of the most expensive cities in the US) and still have no product!

How about putting up a buy wall on those NXT sianotes for 2500? I think that's the right thing to do, don't you?
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Pre-ANN] E-Peso Coin (Philippines Government Backed Proposal) on: October 09, 2014, 04:04:42 AM
I just thought, with 10,000 legally mandated full nodes, this might be good as a hybrid PoW/PoS coin.

So, some may be asking, what's in it for me?

Pros:
1. bragging rights
2. possible government job as crypto consultant / board member / whatever
3. ooooh, escrow contracts (1% of 1 billion isn't bad huh.)

Cons:
1. would need additional physical security

Someone else is going to be making money on the hardware procurement (10,000 computers, 10,000 hard drives, maybe SSDs). And if they all need to be mining Proof of Work, it's either 10,000 asics, or 10,000 GPU rigs.

In terms of cost efficiency for the Phil Gov, it seems likely that they will issue a fully minded POS and have 10,000 low energy consuming nodes. Herein the debate of POS vs POW security.

Would love to see this happen. Please keep us posted as to who and how this will launch. Would love to take a holiday to Cebu funded by E-Peso

We will also be developing a very exciting new "use case" for AT that could well be its "killer app". It will be an "atomic cross-chain transfer" AT that will allow transactions to effectively occur across two blockchains that are using AT.

CIYAM - are you aware of ATOMIC and it's development which hopes to serve the purpose stated above? I have cross-posted both here and on the ATOMIC thread simply as a messenger in hopes that you and CryptAxe might chat.

Post to ATOMIC documentation: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=780833.msg9135301#msg9135301

Edit: I realize these are two different platforms (your development is unique and requires AT) and that competition is good. I image you are much further ahead than ATOMIC  Grin

Anyway, for what it's worth.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ATOMIC: in SuperNET CORE - single blockchain for trading all coins&assets on: October 09, 2014, 03:39:35 AM
Hi CryptAxe. I am cross-posting a quote from CIYAM (Ian) who was working on automated transactions for NXT (AT will launch on NXT testnet on Oct 15...up to devs and community to go live). CIYAM has now decided to work with the Qora platform if enough crowdsource funds are raised.

Link to ANN: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=522102.msg9125859#msg9125859

To the point: please see the bold below. It appears that Ian and his team are working on a similar project as ATOMIC. For now, it appears that it's done with a unique language created by Ian.

My purpose here is to simply be a messenger and I would hope that you and CIYAM would at least communicate ideas so not to waste time and energy. Maybe there is a chance for collaboration.

From what I know CIYAM and some members in the NXT community are in a ruffled state (nothing like a successful product to mend wounds) but that's really beside the point. Simply for what it's worth.

Just to clarify a few things - AT is *open source* (under the MIT license) and was originally written in C++ by myself (the prototype is available if you scroll down to the last link in http://ciyam.org/at).

The language that ATs use is an artificial "machine code" (that I invented) and yes we do hope down the track to be able to build higher level languages on top of it (but for now very useful ATs can be written in machine code as our use cases have already proven so we are not rushing into the development of any higher level languages).

Assuming enough funds are raised during the "crowdfunding" period then these funds will then be used to pay for time and effort on behalf of the AT team to help Qora to implement it (in a manner that will be *compatible* with other AT implementations). A portion of those funds would also be used to help get the "lottery" created and promoted (with a decent "first few rounds reward added" to help encourage participation).

We will also be developing a very exciting new "use case" for AT that could well be its "killer app". It will be an "atomic cross-chain transfer" AT that will allow transactions to effectively occur across two blockchains that are using AT.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: October 09, 2014, 03:23:23 AM
Just read the good news after a few days away: this is very positive for qora for obvious reasons. Welcome Ian et company!

I look forward to purchasing 5 million assets and more as qora moves ahead and as the community learns more details about the implications of TF and the TF asset.

@qora - I know you are not one for much communication, but would really like some feedback:

Does this mean qora is now/almost OS?
Will Ian or others come on board as qora devs part time or others full time?
Can you tell us about TF implementation and qora testnet (if there is one)?
In what way can we/others get involved to leverage this momentum?

I'm really excited about this project. Cheesy Qora has a terrible community if I'm honest, primarily because it is closed source and devs migrate elsewhere. With Ian helping to integrate TF (together with OS) will definitely bring "new talent" and ideas. I hear Qora rumbling again.

You mean AT, not TF?

Yes, thanks for the correction...  Embarrassed

Thanks for the great update.

@Pizpie: unfortunately, my hotmail has no spam folder. Not sure why but this is what I mean by having problems. I can provide an alternate email if that helps. Is there a contact address for the forum administrator with whom I can follow up? Thanks

Edit: another option is to try and add the forum email address (from sender) to my hotmail "safe sender" list. Can anyone who received the password reset email add the from sender email address please? Thanks

Give me your username and we can change it manually.
This goes for anyone else having troubles.
Please check your spam though, as these troubles are on the user end.

Thanks but I sorted the problem. For those using hotmail (live), which really is terrible IMO but cant go back now, add nhzcrypto.org to "safe" domains in settings and request new password from the forum once again. The NHZ mail will go through.
