Is the party over?

Looks like the ROI on new equipment is about 1 year right now, of course we know as difficulty increases, it could take longer...

On the other side you are making far more than the electricity costs and if the coin value keeps going up we are all good.

I've got a question, it was a good run from December to June because of the huge increase in the value of the all the coins (across the board), the question is: how did YOU feel about mining outlook last December and January?
263  Other / Off-topic / Re: My Mom is a stupid greedy bitch that only cares about $$$ on: August 15, 2017, 02:19:40 AM
I have the misfortune of living with her.

The only reason I do, is because I'm afraid without me she'll end up on the streets and be a huge embarrassment to my family.

All my mom does is complain that I don't pay the bills, and how I buy useless shit. I'm on a part time job making $9.00 an hour.

I will not sacrifice my financial future by settling accounts that are not fully under my control when I barely have enough money to eat.

Here is her pattern of behavior.

Wait right before I have to start getting to work. Then bitch about how I'm not giving her enough money.

That woman has fucked over more people in her life than anyone has the right to. Now I understand why my dad left her and sued for custody of me and my sister.

Unfortunately he lost. Now I'm 23 and still living with her but quickly realizing she's an irredeemably bad person. I could have moved out of here yesterday but I thought I'd be a good son. That's what society teaches you. Take care of your bitch mom.

Well, I say fuck that.

365 days from now, I should be living somewhere else, and that bitch will finally appreciate the finer things in life. Like not having a son who's there for her.

Even living on your own, you will probably need to make more the $9 an hour to make it. Any way to increase your pay (another job?).

Does your mom have a job?

If not...your mom is probably in her 50s, so she can get a job...is that an option?

I see a lot of older people working at Walmart, it looks like an easy job.

Well guys, it appears that the AMD Vega 64 is a huge bust in regards to mining... heck its kinda lackluster in the gaming results also... 440.3 watts for these results...
https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@storxusmc/amd-vega-64-liquid-gpu-mining-results-wow

yeah pretty bad numbers.  I am glad I ordered 3 x 1080 ti's last week

What's a fair price to pay for new 1080 ti's ?

I've seen them for around $720 in my area.
265  Other / Off-topic / Re: Got offered 5-10k to marry an asian girl US Citizenship on: August 14, 2017, 03:40:08 AM
Isn't that illegal what would happen if I got caught?

Don't do it, aside from the fact that it is NOT legal:

Imagine someday you meet that special person who you really want to marry and spend your whole life with...and she find's out about (1) -you've been married before and (2) - the reason you married before (for $$$)...and she drops you like a ton of bricks
266  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's the oldest Comic Book you have or your Favorite(s) ? on: August 14, 2017, 02:42:54 AM
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (1963) #7.  It was my dad's we found it when he passed away and was cleaning out his attic.  It's not in the best of condition, at all, but we've since taken care of it and keep it with our other collectibles.

Wow that's older than anything I have...

Anyone else?

I'm surprised there aren't more comic book owners out there
267  Other / Off-topic / What's the oldest Comic Book you have or your Favorite(s) ? on: August 12, 2017, 10:07:11 PM
I've got to go check...

Off hand, I know I have some old X-Men and Iron Man comics...and I do have the Death of Superman.

What do you have?
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: August 12, 2017, 09:50:53 PM
I'll save everyone some work. The coins giving "more" profit are Solaris and Signatum. BUT, it's a iffy profit because the pools are not reliable in the short term and small miners.

I hate people "hiding" their game, it's childish

heh, heh, i think you need to look up some terms Cheesy   Try:
-PoW
-Game Theory
-Nash Equilibrium

not "hiding your game"  is whats considered a "zero-sum game" with PoW coins, THATS why people generally dont say what their mining publically Cheesy
Hehe, don't worry, it's something only vets really know, as most bought rigs not even knowing what crypto was, i understand Cheesy

Everyone knows...Some of us just feel uncomfortable taking knowledge then not giving it out

This is a small place. . .

edit - just imagine what this place would be like if everyone applied game theory. It would all be lies and shilling no truth to be had anywhere in anything mining related...

It would be terrible

There are a ton of lurkers just reading messages and not contributing though, not sure if they are newbies or they just don't want to help anyone but themselves.

271  Other / Off-topic / Planning a Trip to Disney - HELP ME I'm clueless !!! on: July 22, 2017, 04:40:28 PM
This is insane...there are way too many options. I have no idea where to start.

Details:

Orlando, FL
4 people, 2 adults and 2 kids (age 6 and 9)
5-7 days...

Budget about 4-5k, but I don't want to spend a boat load of money (I'd rather buy GPUs or Bitcoin, know what I mean).

Flying in - I have a friend that lives there, but I still think I want to rent a hotel/resort.

"Speed pass" is a must.
3 days Disney, 2 days other parks
Rental car - if needed/recommended

What else do you need to know?

Please any help is greatly appreciated, and please tell me about your trip (mistakes and things you did right)...

Thanks

272  Other / Off-topic / Re: Suggest me a movie (Comedy, Drama & Action) on: July 21, 2017, 09:32:35 PM
If you're interested in some kung-fu packed action, you got to try Jet Li movies. Not recommending that you go all out on Jet Li films but you might want to consider the following:

     1. Once upon a time I, II, III
     2. Tai Chi master
     3. The Bodyguard from Beijing
     4. Fist of Legend
     6. My Father Is a Hero
     7. The Warlords

Nice list...esp Tai Chi Master

It's not a jet lie movie, but don't forget: Iron Monkey (Donnie Yen)

And Ip man...with Donnie Yen
273  Other / Off-topic / Re: Suggest me a movie (Comedy, Drama & Action) on: July 21, 2017, 09:24:19 PM

274  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are these Hackers ever caught? on: July 21, 2017, 01:30:51 PM
they dont get caught if they are smart enough.

They have to spend the money at one point...unless they have deep connections, you can't just get rich overnight, people will notice...right?
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ALERT***A new SCAM COINDASH from the scammers of GETGEMZ scam project!!!!!! on: July 21, 2017, 01:06:16 AM
Hopefully the media will connect Alon Muroch to both GETGEMS and COINDASH, now that they've both scammed investors.
Both already being the worst scenario in crypto and especially for the coindash, there is no reason to buy its shares rather than just throw the token to the trash or just try to burn them all. incompetence developer in the worst project. That's so clear in my opinion

never understood why a trading platform needs millions in funding

This ^^^^^

Can't pull up the white paper...or anything, the website takes you to a distribution plan page.

I am in no way defending this company or supporting them and the project,  I also understand the loss of confidence in the project (I feel for those impacted), but with ethereum's value increasing, does that soften the loss a bit?

They will have operating capital, although at this point, they may have little trust from the community...

For this (and all) ICO's isn't there a breakdown of what the money is for (salaries, R&D, bills, going concern principle, equipment, wild parties)?

276  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many cats are on this bed? (count carefully) on: July 21, 2017, 12:07:40 AM
Maybe 6-7 cats seen in the photo. Is that your cat?

6, but it could be five because:

one fell off and bumped it's head

277  Other / Off-topic / Are these Hackers ever caught? on: July 20, 2017, 11:53:55 PM
Are Hackers ever caught? For anything?

Even after the fact; for something not directly related to the hack...like buying drugs or instantly having a shit ton of money with no documentation on how they got it...when a few days/months ago they had nothing?

We are talking about millions of $$$ here, unless it is a state sponsored hack, the money has to show up somewhere at sometime...most governments want to know how you got it.

Even if you a cash in - little by little - buying a house, car, nightclub tables, etc, people start asking questions....

279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Survey] Who controls the Altcoin scene ? on: July 20, 2017, 09:18:04 PM
I know the answer but i want to see if you all do.
Or if you care ?

Who controls the Altcoin scene ?

Spoetnik.

Why ?

He has guided us morally over the years.

The right answer has been revealed.

All hail Spoetnik.

I love reading Spoetnik's messages Smiley

Lets honor Spoetnik with "SpoetnikCoin"

Think he would like that altcoin? Probably not!

280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining dropping rapdily on: July 17, 2017, 01:29:41 AM
WARNING: partial rant below

Don't worry "noobs" it's not you paying the price for this or will be crying...the noobs are on the sidelines watching. Sure the "easy money" is over (okay, okay, there is never easy money).

When you are "in the money" you can reinvest EVERYTHING and you have nothing to lose...It's the miners reinvesting their profits (the good thing is they have profits)...and many of these miners do not post here, they lurk, read, buy more cards.

You can look at it - as if - the mining community has cannibalized itself, but don't worry about them, they are "in the money"...and the noobs are currently "locked out" because it isn't worth it right now to go into mining (especially on a large scale)...but large is also a relative term.

Ethereum went from $40 to 400 in what 3-4 months...the most logical move was to add as many GPUs as possible! Now the downside difficulty up and value down.

As a hobby I would say jump in on a small scale...also buy coins on dips...there will be another run. I hate to use a gambling analogy, but play with money you can afford to lose.

Maybe the negative comments are directed toward noobs because a lot of the current miners are frustrated the difficulty level skyrocketed so quickly.

Look, I think ETC will be a $500 and BTC will be at $4000 at the end of the year...I'm adding equipment slowly with no expectations at all...I also have some cash on the side in case the shit hits the fan
