If you have the ability to do something or have possession of something, it is your right and not before. Rights are very simple in that sense. When you start making a wishlist of things you don't have and say they are your rights, that's when you start being silly and religious.

Whether nature gives me a right, or whether God, the people's choice, etc., does so, all of that is the same foreign right, a right that I do not give or take to myself. Thus the Communists say, equal labour entitles man to equal enjoyment. [...] No, equal labour does not entitle you to it, but equal enjoyment alone entitles you to equal enjoyment. Enjoy, then you are entitled to enjoyment. But, if you have laboured and let the enjoyment be taken from you, then – ‘it serves you right.’ If you take the enjoyment, it is your right; if, on the contrary, you only pine for it without laying hands on it, it remains as before, a, ‘well-earned right’ of those who are privileged for enjoyment. It is their right, as by laying hands on it would become your right.

Give Silk Road one reason why they should accept Litecoins.

Because they can.

Another way to say it would be, what's a good reason they shouldn't? I don't see it causing any harm.

Because the exchanges that use them aren't as hardy and established as Mt. Gox.

The irony here is that the LTC/USD rate has been more stable lately than the BTC/USD one.
The question here is if that stability will continue if LTC becomes widely used?

Look at the herd go.  You guys having fun?  LTC is doing quite well, BTW.

That whole thing is going to collapse dude. You can't even buy meth with LTC.

That's fine.  I can buy BTC with LTC.  So...
You used to be able to redeem US Dollars for gold as well.

Atlas, can I sell now? Or will I get hit by 14 USD a hour later?

It's a gamble. Right now all trades are based on speculation of the week that has yet to come, with no dollars supply side.

I do feel confident that we will be in 11.40-11.50 range at the end of today.

let us not forget that for americans, it's a holiday so the banks are closed. tuesday might be rather dramatic as a result.

If you subtract the weekends from the price sentiment, I think you'll find a mild bear.

A long term price chart discounting market movements over the weekend would be very interesting.

I offer a .02 BTC bounty  Shocked Cheesy

lol this picture is pretty much bitcointalk in a nutshell.

I don't do that Elliot Wave Theory mumbo jumbo. I rather trade based on horoscopes than that crap. It's as if the Marxist Labor Theory of Value and Milton Friedman had an autistic child.

270  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: An idea for an exchange: No trading fees except after withdrawal. on: October 08, 2012, 11:41:15 AM
So what happens when you make a bad trade and you're left with less than what you owe the exchange?

How would the exchange cover the trades if not enough people were depositing?

You can't owe less than 5%. In my idea, the 5% comes out of whatever left that you have to withdraw. Whoever profited from your bad trades will pay whatever you didn't.

I don't understand your last question.
271  Economy / Trading Discussion / An idea for an exchange: No trading fees except after withdrawal. on: October 08, 2012, 11:17:10 AM
It would work like any other exchange except the necessary fee would only come after you withdraw your money from the exchange, say a flat 5%.

Whether you buy or sell, you will not have to worry about the fee or tobin tax in your trade. If you sell high and buy low with even a satoshi of difference, that profit will be right in your account. You will only have to consider how much profit you will need to cover your expense when you withdraw.

What if you deposit money, don't trade and back out? That's fine. No fee will be deducted unless you make a single trade.

Thoughts?

This exchange would be suited for speculators and not somebody who just wants to sell or buy BTC.

Here's the dream behind this: Imagine being able to trade 1 BTC up to 10 BTC with no restrictive fees stopping you along the way!

And I stand by my statement that my comments in this thread are not made with sexist and/or misogynistic intent, in fact I don't think anyone's comments in this thread had sexist or misogynistic implications.

Of course not. Most people in this thread don't seem to accept that "Maria" is a woman. If is hard to be misogynistic if you don't believe the target of your ridicule is a woman.

I think transphobia may better describe the gender-specific comments in this thread.

I will accept that maybe most people don't find "Maria" very credible. That does not fully explain why the thread turned nasty so quickly.

You don't actually use the internet very much, do you?  If you do, you clearly don't spend much time on forums.
The fact that this is the Internet does not change the fact that there are real people behind the names, and it should not change behaviour.

Being on the internet hasn't changed my behavior in this situation. I would call bullsh*t when I suspected in real life too. And when those real people want to be real people I'll treat them as such, but when they want to hide behind a fake persona that they call the truth and then make wild claims of prestige I'm going to call bullsh*t and I'm going to point out holes in their credibility.

She/he asked if we knew how much BTC she/he had, I said enough that he could probably become a woman if he wanted to. There was no malicious intent in my statement, it was a statement of fact. I didn't say anything about whether I thought such decisions to be right, wrong, moral or immoral, I merely stated that it could be done if the OP chose to do so.

Again, if a trans-gender person is going to take offense to the comment it is not because the comment was made with malicious intent it is because they WANT to see malicious intent in the comment.
Accusing anyone of faking their gender is woefully inappropriate without evidence. Nobody here accuses anyone who claims to be a male as faking their gender, and this should be no different.

Oh man, this forum is being so pussified and neo-liberalized that it almost seems like a parody.

I also wish to apologize for my emotional charade earlier. I had no basis in my belief of a decline. I was just simply greedy.

Emotions make a horrible trade.

No harm done, but I still don't see us stabilizing around $11.50, maybe $11.00.  Lips sealed
Why?

Its still Monday, and I can see $11.50 having a lot of resistance. There seems to be a few large players selling a lot of coin, and I just don't think they are through.

Is it plausible that most speculators have already sold?

Possible, but I'm still sticking with my statement that $10.60 is our short term low. Next week should be interesting.

Let's see what happens. : )

Well, I think it can still be deduced that we will be stabilizing around 11.50 by the end of today, more or less. Let's see if this holds true.
