101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iran can't print paper, guy tells them to use BitCoin on: October 17, 2012, 07:09:48 PM
To bad they cant download the software easily.

Solution

Good luck shipping them directly to Iran without it being seized by customs. You would have to funnel them through Russia or China first.

Oh god, I am going to be so raped by Obama if I continue talking like this.
102  Economy / Speculation / Re: These dips are being made by institutional investors. on: October 17, 2012, 07:04:26 PM
They are trying to get Bitcoin on the cheap. I would consider it a bullish sentiment more than anything.
O!  You must have bought quite recently - just a few days ago you were proving we are facing a slump.

Short-term investing is the game.

The biggest concern I see is technological illiteracy, it might be very hard for them to understand how bitcoin works.

All Iranians (is that the correct term?) I have ever met, where really smart and educated people, so I don't see a problem there.

... It could be of course that the smart people get the hell out of this country.

No, they really are decent people. They aren't the brutish, impoverished, savage brutes the international media portrays them to be; just people who want their own sovereignty.

104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Writing analysis on Satoshi Nakamoto. on: October 17, 2012, 05:34:53 AM
And they still control the world! And you know which ones are doing what because you are so brilliant! If only everyone else wasn't so stupid we could see that you know everything and stop listen to you and save the world!!!

The open and obvious world domination by corporations and international finance  that control the world's armies and police forces are simply smoke screens for 500 year old secret societies that really run things from underground lairs! And you're on to them!!!

lmao

If I put someone on ignore, do I still see the threads they start?

I never stated nor implied any of that.

Bavarian Illuminati

Interesting topic but this made me stop reading.

Atlas does raise a lot of interesting questions, too bad he's a bit of an idiot and lunatic.

The organization certainly existed. Secret societies have certainly existed.

What if I told you that every effective thing I do, I do anonymously?

When I do actual work, I will never be credited for it.

And didn't you promise a Woolong Device prototype quite some time ago?  Where is that?
Some guy in the UK patented its core technology.

Anyways, offtopic. I am done.

By "patented", I'm assuming you also mean "engineered, documented, and developed".  Face it, you're a do-nothing "ideas-man", Atlas.

What about that code-analysis, by the way?  Someone patent that, too?

No, they just wrote the software principles on a piece of paper and made it illegal for me to distribute the Woolong Device in the UK.

And if I am do-nothing ideas man, so be it. Ross Perot made Apple what it is today just by throwing money at Steve Jobs. Vision alone can make things happen combined with capital. I am good at saving money and growing it through investments.

As for the latter, MIT courseware is being studied.
107  Other / Off-topic / ITT Your biggest fear. on: October 17, 2012, 03:58:46 AM
I am not afraid of anything of this Earth. I will stand my ground against any man that opposes my well-being or existence and the well-being of anything that I value.

What I truly fear is reality falling apart. I am afraid of becoming schizophrenic at any moment. Shadows, ghosts and demons appearing before my eyes.

It's not the actual perceptions I fear but the lack of control over my own perception, my own mind, my perceived reality. There is clear no evidence this could happen to me. I've experienced only minor paranormal occurrences: My dogs barking at the shadows, random whispers and noises in my ear. Regardless, I pretty much dread the idea of hallucinations, paranormal, anything that I cannot fully quantify, grasp or fight off. The fact I hear of people experiencing such things --consistently so-- scares me even more.

I can fight off a physical threat or obstacle. I can't directly fight off insanity and the reality I know falling apart -- and I dread it.

What are your fears?

109  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why are people scared of taxes? on: October 16, 2012, 10:06:48 PM

Simply taking it by force is not enough.
Yes it is if you can maintain your possession of the property you have stolen. That's all that matters.

Any purported legitimacy is a spook. If its in your hands, it is yours regardless of the law.
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Writing analysis on Satoshi Nakamoto. on: October 16, 2012, 09:53:30 PM
How can we get a writing analysis done on all of Satoshi's written works to see if there is consistency among them?

Someone already did it. I read about it more than a year ago, but can't find that paper now.
Have any defunct links for it?

I started with some amateur textual analysis of Satoshi Nakamoto's Bitcoin paper, extracting fragments of phrases and running them through Google. I figured I'd see if any of the ones in the paper appear elsewhere online. People tend to repeat themselves. The trick is to plug in unique-sounding fragments and place them in quotes. That way you only get a handful of results to comb through. I struck out on the first few, which all appeared solely in the Bitcoin paper, and there was one irrelevant link. Then I tried the term "computationally impractical to reverse." It resulted in 26 results...

Wooo. Thanks!

My brother in law is a Lt at the local jail, he does not hire anyone young at all. Boredom tends to get the best of them, and the new guys always work the crappy shifts. "Young ones belong on a bike patrolling parks."
Well, that might be the sentiment here. We'll see. I would put money on you being right.

Let's settle this once and for all.

Irrelevant and pointless. I mean name a single good reason why it would matter?

For history's sake. Historians make a living at this kind of thing.

Hmm, Hazek, you wouldn't happen to be associated with Satoshi Nakamoto, would you?

How can we get a writing analysis done on all of Satoshi's written works to see if there is consistency among them? I am becoming more convinced we are dealing with an organization here a la Bavarian Illuminati, who started many of the world's revolutions.

If we can prove that there is no consistency among the communications of Nakamoto, we can prove that Bitcoin's first implementation is the work of many anonymous individuals.

People have said that Satoshi Nakamoto has been very hard to communicate with. The software has been said to be beyond the work of one person.

Let's settle this once and for all.

You may not know what Satanism is. Not a religion, but instead a self-described philosophical organization. It is comprised of atheists. www.churchofsatan.com/pages/_FAQ03.html if you're interested.

Yeah, and how stupid can you be to name your little club of self-indulgent atheists after a mythical god creature?

Not stupid at all. They use the name to keep the idiots out.
116  Other / Off-topic / Re: Work on: October 16, 2012, 07:50:27 PM
dank, there is absolutely nothing original about your ideas - including your idea that a whole generation should turn on and drop out - they were common in young adults 40 years ago.  Just because an idea, a realisation or an experience is new to you doesn't mean it's never been thought of, realised or experienced by others in the past - I belong to the Age of Aquarius generation and I can assure you that you're saying nothing which wasn't said by the hippies of the 1960s and 1970s.

So where did they go wrong? At what point did they stop dropping out? How can we learn from their experience to make it relly work this time?

The idea that you can sit around all day while everybody provides for you only works until your parents kick you out.

Was I the only person to find odd that they would download/parse blockchain.info webpages instead of downloading the blockchain itself and working with it? lol

may be they found official client too cumbersome to use, scraping webpages is much easier Smiley
The web is always easier to work with.

You tell a girl with an ego you love her and you'll scare her off.

Dank, no, that's now how it works. People get scared when you tell them you love them suddenly because it reeks of mental instability, depression and desperation.

Welp, my resume is under departmental review. I might get a phone call tomorrow.

Good luck.  Do you know much about the recruitment process?  It takes months here and includes physical and psychological testing.
I have a feeling it's much longer than Wal-Mart indoctrination week. I am ready for anything. I've been sitting on my ass for too long.

As long as I'm not in charge of towing hundreds of pallets in less than 2 hours, I think I'll survive.

And thanks!
