261  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge: Win $25 + 8 Merits every week! (Round 6) on: April 20, 2018, 08:20:23 AM
One of the participant of this campaign : AleksNewman has been caught of copy-pasting by botany. Please ban him from the campaign.

Here's the quote :

Investing means buying an asset that actually creates products, services or cashflow, such as a profitable business or a rentable piece of real estate, for an extended period of time. An investment is something that has intrinsic value – that is, it would be worth owning from a financial perspective, even if you could never sell it.

To answer why bitcoin has become so big, we need to separate the usefulness of the underlying technology called “blockchain” from the mania of people turning bitcoin into a big dumb lottery. Blockchain is simply a nifty software invention (which is open-source and free for anyone to use), whereas bitcoin is just one well-known way to use it.

262  Other / Meta / Re: Simple improvement for the report function on: April 20, 2018, 07:49:52 AM
I don't particularly find that to be a huge issue, but I suppose if it does turn out to be simple to implement, then why not?  Could come in handy.

My only small complaint is the way it takes you back to page 1 of whichever forum you're in once you press the "submit" button.  It seems like it would flow better to be taken back to the thread itself.  Or, an alternative solution would be to open it as a new window/tab like +Merit does.  That way, you can carry on reading where you left off.

I always encounter this problem because if I am looking at past reples on a thread then after reporting a particular post it's hard to get back to the same page of that thread. To overcome this I use Ctrl + Click on the Report button, it opens up the report page in new tab.

I would like to know, whether reporting same post by different users help the mods in any way ? Like does it get high priority or just shows up as redundant reported post ?
If it's the second case, then it's much better to display if the particular post has already been reported by other member to avoid wasting mods' time.

Another feature would be to know which of the reported posts caused one's accuracy to drop. Because in my case with 430 reported posts and 98% accuracy I would like to know those 2% posts (9 posts) which were reported incorrectly by me so as to save the time of mods in the future.
263  Other / Meta / Re: Possible to assume control of abandoned account? on: April 20, 2018, 07:28:24 AM
It would be much better to just create a new ANN thread, considering tens of new coins' ann threads get posted nonetheless.
You may comment on the previous thread with BIG text to draw users attention to redirect them to new thread.
Lastly you may request the moderators to lock the previous topic, but I believe that this may not happen considering how busy they already are.
264  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can someone explain why there is a space between these two images? on: April 17, 2018, 08:38:55 AM
I think you can edit two photos together on a piece of paint, then there will be no space, then only one image instead of two images.

Your solution would not help the OP because he wants to have seamless visual image but both of which should lead to different languages' link.

Edit: In preview the Images look attached but on posting they are one space apart. I would update this post when I find the solution.

Edit2: PROBLEM SOLVED !

Look :

I used glow tag and the same colour as the image's background to fill in the space between the two images.
The restriction of size tag is a max of 99pt so images bigger than that would not work.

Here's the code :

Code:
[size=99pt][glow=#1d232f,200,3][url=http://www.google.com][img]https://i.imgur.com/RzYOoqe.png[/img][/url][url=http://www.facebook.com][img]https://i.imgur.com/08TIo4v.png[/img][/url]
[/glow][/size]

265  Other / Meta / Re: mobile friendly bitcointalk on: April 17, 2018, 08:18:16 AM
The current bitcointalk website is still pretty functionable on mobile sites. I frequently have to zoom in & out to go from one page to another because the page-links appear tiny.
By the way, the new forum software that is being developed is aimed to make the forum mobile friendly but we don't know when it would be released.

I have received the vouch copy from adm1n0.
The seller sent me the steam key instantly and it worked perfectly. The game I received was slightly priced slightly more than 2$.
I received this game.
This service is primarily beneficial to increase the number of games so as to increase your steam profile rank or try your luck to get expensive games for 2$ !
267  Economy / Marketplace / Re: New type of bitcoin market?!! on: April 16, 2018, 09:02:31 PM
I recently came across this site via my friend. It's a site where you use bitcoin to purchase electronics. (Stolen or something)

But it uses bitcoin as payment. My friend said he has dealt on this site before and received everything he ordered.

What do you guys think about this idea? Sort of like a black market.

Anyways, here is the site: http://dracardula.com

Let me know what you think!
Another one of those posts where the OP ( always a newbie , coincidence ? I think not !) encounters some site and wants the reviews from the forum users.
OP, if you know that the stated site is selling stolen items, where are you even caring to share it with us ?

Well, you buy first!)
And tell us how it works!)
All interesting this, but I do not think that someone will want to spend their money for nothing!

He may be the owner of the site and would easily fake the transactions, but whatever, we the community are not fools.
268  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: wfees.com - exchanges withdrawal fees in USD on: April 16, 2018, 08:51:57 PM
Nice little site you have !
I think most users would be willing to use an exchange of its trustworthy along with minimum fees as your site states. So, I would recommend you that you add ratings to the exchanges listed on your site. The only problem may be is unbiased review.
Suggestions aside, your website is easy to use and has clean user interface and does what it states.
Edit : Just saw that you are planning to evaluate exchanges too. Great !
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: newbie bounty manager on: April 16, 2018, 08:08:53 PM
If they are just using a newbie account then they don't know bitcointalk very well. They should at least attempt to rank up first otherwise they can't get graphics or fast multiple posts
The forum has already implemented the "Copper Member" which any user can buy for ~0.002 btc and get relived from few of the forum restrictions that low rank members like newbies suffer. It is ideal for campaign managers and dev of new coins that require to post ANN threads with graphics.
270  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where can I buy a video game with bitcoin? on: April 16, 2018, 08:00:23 PM
I know that you can buy or sell goods here in this forum, things like PC, ps4 which you asked for, and also bitcoin mining machines too. In this forum, you can by anything using bitcoin and maybe altcoins. When it comes to other sites, amazon and ebay( have not really confirmed).
If you are thinking of buying from untrusted users on the forum, make sure to use a trusted escrow service because most of the account/game keys sellers are scammers. They list their keys on autobuy sites and self-moderate their thread to easily scam others.

A much secure way is to buy a virtual bitcoin debit card and load it up with your crypto and buy from steam or any other online store.
271  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: cpu mining and mobile mining bitcoins ? on: April 16, 2018, 07:55:06 PM
Do you know any software from which i can earn daily $2 or $3 using old computer (bitcoins) and from mobile.

Thanks for answering and providing link.

Ahmed.
Don't even think of mining bitcoins with your old pc or mobile. Long gone are the days when you could run miner on old pc and earn some coins, but due to increase in difficulty it is not possible to earn a decent amount to cover your power consumption, even with high end pc, unless you have a ton of asic miners. You may try your luck by mining other altcoins though.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: newbie bounty manager on: April 16, 2018, 07:24:59 PM
I've seen a campaign with a newbie bounty manager is that trustworthy? Do you think this campaign can be not a scam?
Thank you for your answers.
Just judging a campaign as scam on the basis of campaign manager's rank is not entirely correct but it does raise some red flags.
Many times the companies that start the campaign are new to the forum so have new accounts. In order to fully declare a campaign as scam, you must read about the project in detail and then only invest your time there.
Personally, I would join campaigns where the managers are experienced and trustworthy.
273  Other / Meta / Re: Indian Sub New Moderator ? [Recommendations Welcome] on: April 16, 2018, 11:56:34 AM
If theymos is actually looking for a moderator for the Indian Sub-board, then I would like to apply for the same.
I am an Indian and I browse through the Indian board now-and-then and report spammy posts as soon as I encounter one.
The fact that you are appointing yourself doesn't seem very reliable.
...
I just wanted to put my words out, and if the admin considers me worthy he may chose me, or else I would still continue with reporting posts and move on.

If I can't recommend my own name then I'd recommend
Amitabh S

He was one of the first guys I interacted with and someone who's actually polite and incredibly knowledgeable of crypto.

-edit-

Damn I should really read up on what happened & the people involved .. just read this..
The private keys were held by CSO Amitabh Saxena and the company has filed a case against him, his response to the way in which the funds are hacked are just flimsy and i do not think Benson has anything to do with the loss and the company has ensured that they will be crediting its users, it is a really unfortunate situation and with him being removed as the moderator i hope the local board wont be a junkyard.

-edit-
...

Glad you edited it, I was going to comment whether you were kidding or not about suggesting Amitabh S.

274  Other / Meta / Re: This article worth 50 merit ??? on: April 16, 2018, 06:04:27 AM
I also stumbled upon a post that received 50 merit for no reason.

Screenshot :

There is no reason for this post to receive 50 merit points. He just stated that they are still discussing and pinkman12345 gave 50 merits.

275  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Just started a new project, let me know what you guys think! on: April 15, 2018, 04:49:58 PM
Another flaw I see with this service, apart from the security concern is that you may give the person cryptocurrency using that metal card, but for him to either spend it or either send the funds to another person abroad, he would require to use the private key online and setup wallets, etc in order to perform any transactions which might ultimately defeat your purpose.

Apart from this, you should update your website, graphic wise to make it more visually appealing and professional looking.
276  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Just started a new project, let me know what you guys think! on: April 15, 2018, 03:55:37 PM
Right now, one of the main things holding people back from buying cryptocurrency is the difficulty and complexity of setting up a wallet, transferring money to and from various exchanges and finally purchasing and storing them.  That is why we created Loaded Crypto.

In my opinion, it is not actually the process of setting up the wallet, etc that keeps the people from using crypto; it might be the volatility and price fluctuations that make it risky for new people to get involved in.
Coming back to your service, how can we trust your service ? You would have control over the private keys. It is much more risky than to use coinbase that also holds your private keys.
What do you have to say about this major issue ?

I came to know about the patrol feature today itself (by QS) and would use it irrespective of whether I get appointed as mod or not.
278  Other / Meta / Re: ask : find thread we just failed post? on: April 15, 2018, 01:03:02 PM
im wanna ask sir. im failled posting,  so my posting automatic save in draft. now how to search thread we just failed post? then i can copy paste from draft to the thread. thx u

To view the contents of the failed posts, go to Drafts here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=drafts
To search for that particular thread, just lookup your browser history.

thx you sir. very help me. but how can search history if browser was closed. and the browser set, dont save history until i quit my browser. thats nothing we can do?

sorry for my bad english.

For most of the Browsers, the shortcut to view history is : Ctrl+H

Also, for future you may keep in mind posting at a gap so as not to encounter such failed posts due to posting limits because of your rank.
279  Other / Meta / Ability to Delete other users' posts on NON Self-Moderated Thread on: April 15, 2018, 12:41:46 PM
I had started a non self-moderated thread and while viewing post history of one of the users who had posted there, I saw the option to delete that particular post :

It is not board specific, I checked with other threads that I had opened in other boards too, and the option is still there.

Although while viewing the posts on the thread there is no delete option, as one would have if the post was self moderated like this :

I haven't tried to click on that button to delete any posts, but I would like to know whether the button works or not. If yes, is it intentional by forum admin?
