261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: December 17, 2023, 06:43:01 AM
Quote
Guideline 1: Gamble no more than 1% of household income
Don’t bet more than 1% of your household income before tax per month. For example, someone with a household income of $70,000 before tax should gamble no more than $58 per month.

Recently I decided to risk only 1 percent of my gambling portfolio into each bet. This makes my bet risk free as I know that even if I lose the bet i will lose only 1% of my gambling money.

Do you guys also follow a similar strategy like gambling with 1% or 2% on each game? This way not only we are safe from losing big amounts but at the same time, we never find ourselves in a situation where we go all in, in some bet and then have the fear of losing all of our money.

You must have heard 1% strategy in trading, the same can be applied in gambling too and believe me, you will feel a lot more comfortable using this 1% of your money in every game.
This also gives you a lot of games to play before you end up on your money as on every bet you will use 1% of your money. In case you lose all bets, you will be playing 100 games because your money is exhausted.

The Lower-Risk Gambling Guidelines

risk 1-2% depending on the amount of capital. Because every game has a minimum bet. This risk calculation only applies to players who have large capital.
But I agree with the amount of risk, because you can be calmer when playing and don't lose big money in an instant. Unfortunately this advice doesn't work for everyone.
You have to be smart in finding a gambling site that has a small minimum bet, so you can play with small bets.
262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do Owners of betting companies bet? on: December 16, 2023, 06:52:00 PM
Do owners of betting companies place bet on their own platform or is there a policy specific policy that restricts them from betting. Do you think that there would be conflict of interest or that it will be unethical if owners bet on their own platforms. These are the questions that I am seeking an answer to.

It's possible if he plays along, it's fine after all. He created a casino company because he understands how to play.
Besides, why is he playing, because his casino company is already making a profit? Possibly playing just for fun.
The analogy is the same as a director who takes part in a film, he does it because he is happy and passionate about it.
Unless you have lost a lot of money there, maybe you feel you have been cheated by the owner who is playing.
263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: December 16, 2023, 06:26:54 PM
I want to pose a question that I believe is quite expensive for many of us here, and it's a dilemma most of us can relate to. We all know that gambling is a game where we put our luck to the test. However, there's a crucial moment in every gambler's journey. the moment when you hit that big win. Do you cash out and savor your victory, or do you continue playing in hopes of even bigger winnings?

I've often wondered how many of us can truly stop playing when we are ahead. It's a challenge because the allure of winning more can be irresistible. I've witnessed situations where a friend deposited money into a casino, faced losses, and just when he was on the brink of frustration, he struck a significant win. Did he stop playing? No, he left his winnings in the casino, only to lose it all again.
So, I ask you all, what would you do when you finally make that big win? Would you cash out immediately to enjoy your winnings, or would you keep playing in the hopes of an even more substantial prize? Shocked

Of course I will take my capital gains. I use the rest to play again if I really want to play again.
Because I don't want to spend it all playing gambling where we can't be sure when we win or when we lose.
That way, I can play calmly without any burden, because I have withdrawn the capital. Even if I lose, it won't be a big problem.
Instead of my brain thinking hard to predict, I'd better be wise enough to take advantage when I win.
264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Money laundering in crypto casino on: December 16, 2023, 05:59:01 PM
We all know the recent issue about the mixer status here in the forum. Crypto casino is also being use for money laundering by some criminals that’s why every casino has AML policy.

I’m just curious what will be the fate of crypto casino once money laundering activity from mixer will jump to casino now that mixer will not be advertised here which means it has less exposure. Is there any possibility that crypto casino will be seized by the government just like what happened to mixers in case they failed to screen the laundering activity?

Tracing money laundering is the responsibility of government agencies, not the casino's responsibility.
The highest policy lies with the government, casino companies only operate according to the rules that have been set.
It doesn't seem fair if the government's failure to trace money laundering cases has an impact on casino companies that have followed the rules. They must be objective to overcome this.
Because without us realizing there are quite a lot of workers who work for casino companies to earn a living for their families.
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most gamblers do not believe they can consistently make money, that's why... on: December 16, 2023, 04:20:10 PM
As you've read the thread title, I'll continue the explanation here, as it cannot accommodate additional text. I've come across numerous topics and posts where gamblers express disbelief in the idea of consistently making profit through gambling. It makes me question whether these individuals are truly involved in gambling or if they're posting without the real experiences and knowledge. Personally, I firmly believe that there are people who have achieved real success in gambling. What perplexes me is why many discourage gambling as a means of making money. Instead of outright saying no, they could guide gamblers with the right strategies on how to stay disciplined, enhance skills, minimize the risk of bankruptcy, and increase the chances of winning.

If you're someone who doesn't believe anyone can be profitable in gambling, you might as well consider yourself not welcome in this thread. I'm looking for people who maintain optimism about their chances in gambling so they can share valuable insights.

Now, let's hear your opinion. In 3...2...1... go!

I believe there are gamblers who are able to generate consistent income from gambling.
But the question is whether the amount of money he holds is enough to support the consistency of his game?
Most people hope to consistently win at gambling, then use the results to meet their living needs.
In my opinion, a consistent gambler is a gambler who has money specifically allocated for gambling, he will not use money for family needs and will not even use borrowed money.
266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: December 16, 2023, 03:57:50 PM
I'd like to share my experience with you all. Even though I'm not currently employed, I went through a phase of gambling while I was working in the past, and the outcome wasn't positive. It affected my job performance because, as you may know, when you lose, you tend to dwell on your losses and constantly think about strategies to win. When we talk about work, it usually means we're not particularly wealthy, and imagine what happens when we gamble money we can't afford to lose, especially when we're not earning much.

Let me tell you, the feeling is far from pleasant. It leads to a decline in your work performance, which can have significant consequences since that's your primary source of income. It might be manageable if you're winning, but the harsh reality is often quite the opposite. Even when we do win, we tend to spend most of our winnings, so we don't treat it as business money. This leaves us in a precarious situation when we lose because the money we initially budgeted for our families gets diverted to cover unexpected gambling-related expenses.

I'd like to hear from those of you who have experienced this or are still dealing with it. Please share your testimonies.

Gambling at work is a bad thing. Bad for the company and bad for yourself.
Work will be neglected when we gamble while at the office, because our performance will decrease and that is detrimental. If this happens repeatedly, it is possible that you will be kicked out of the company.
Which means you won't get the salary you might normally use for gambling. It's better to be wise in gambling, you have to be able to manage your time. Because life is not just about gambling.
267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prove me wrong: Gambling is both more relaxing and entertaining than trading! on: December 16, 2023, 03:26:02 PM
I don't know for sure what percentage of middle to lower class people gamble just for fun, what is clear is that the percentage is definitely high because many of them get depressed when they lose gambling.
But for most middle and upper class people, gambling is a way to have fun, not a place to earn income.
Likewise with trading, it will be very tiring and stressful when we take it as something very serious, therefore it must be considered as something fun.
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Qualifiers on: December 15, 2023, 05:51:07 PM
Bayer Leverkusen appeared strong when facing Molde at BayArena.
They beat their guests with a score of 5-1 in the final Group H match of the 2023/2024 Europa League.
Thanks to this result, Leverkusen successfully completed the group phase with a clean sweep of six wins.
Leverkusen also has the right to qualify for the knockout phase with Group H champion status and has 18 points.
Leverkusen has a chance to become champions if you look at the progress of their match results without losing a single match in the group phase.
269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Target your wins in a series of bets on: December 15, 2023, 07:32:25 AM
I just felt I should bring this up here maybe it will help someone in managing expectations and the entire gambling process.

From experience, I have realised that many people run into problems when they focused so much on winning a particular bet amd when such bet fails, they easily slide into psychological crisis.  Considering that gambling is a game of probability with the chances of losing higher than that of winning, it is therefore expected we work out ways of approaching it so we can remain profitable.

One way of approach is to focus on winning certain number of bets in a series of bets. For instance, you can target to win at least 4 bets in a series of 10 bets with the odds being at least 5 odds. This way, you can lose 6 times and win 4 times yet you still remain highly profitable.

This is my approach and through it, I don't get depress over few loses. This method works for me and I feel it will also work for others. Your opinion are highly welcomed.

Yes you are using statistical methods to manage your bets.
In my opinion, that's the best, because that way we can enjoy the game more without burdening our mental state when gambling.

It is really effective but only a few people can use it, because most of them are dominated by greed when they win, fear when they lose.
Eventually they will spend a lot of money gambling until they become depressed because they don't feel like they are winning.
270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Type of gambling and Intelligence on: December 15, 2023, 05:37:48 AM
People's intelligence level cannot be determined by what type of gambling game they play.
There are many kinds of gambling games because everyone likes it, some like roulette, some like slots, some like soccer gambling, and so on.
It all depends on how much they like it, not how smart they are.

Moreover, the results of gambling cannot be guaranteed 100% no matter how clever a person predicts.
It all just depends on how well they manage the risk of the money at stake.
271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: December 15, 2023, 04:52:54 AM
I have observed that the rich, I mean those who are financially comfortable, win more in gambling than the poor. By poor, I mean those who do not have enough to meet all their needs. I don't know the reason for this. Could it be that the rich understand financial management more? Or could it be that the rich are less desperate to win which make them make better gambling decision? I really want to know the reason for this pattern I have observed.

In fact, the determining factor for rich people to win more often is because they have larger capital and have good risk management.
It affects their mentality when gambling. Poor people will be passionate about continuing to win, they don't care about betting management.
Poor people gamble with the aim of making as much money as possible to meet their daily needs.
Rich people gamble for fun. This difference is what makes it seem easier for rich people to win.
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: December 14, 2023, 01:05:36 PM
Maybe Barcelona were already comfortable as they guaranteed finishing the group as the leader. However I still wouldn't have expected them to lose to Antwerp in the last game. Antwerp also had no goal to achieve left in the end. Barcelona should have played better and won this game. Xavi also stated how bad they were in this game.

They lost two games in this comfortable group so I'm curious about their performance in later rounds. If they don't get lucky with the draw I think they would be likely to get eliminated early. But at least there is some progress as they couldn't even get past the group stage in the recent seasons.

I was quite surprised that Barcelona were beaten by Antwerp in the Champions League. Even though just a few days ago Barcelona was defeated by Girona too.

I see that Barcelona is underperforming, this could be dangerous for the team's mentality when facing the next round of the Champions League.
They might lose their chance to win the La Liga title and also the Champions League if their performance continues to be as bad as this.

Barcelona's current game tends to be individual, not collective like Barca in the last era of Leo Messi.
Xavi has to rack his brains to find the best tactics for his team, or his career as a coach is on the verge of being fired.
273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Logic of some gamblers against math on: December 13, 2023, 08:55:42 PM
Hi guys. Someone will explain to me why gamblers have such a strange logic: if a gambler has received a huge multiplier, then he will not withdraw this money. And he will continue to play, saying, "if I'm so lucky, I'll be lucky again now."
But according to the laws of mathematics, the chance of such luck becomes much less, doesn't it?

Unconsciously, the gambler has compounded his money.
There is no mathematical calculation that can be reconciled with this, the system has its own methods that we ourselves don't know the technicalities of.

According to personal experience, there is no guarantee that I will win if I use the money I have doubled to bet again.
That's just a trick of the human brain, when its mind is preoccupied with winning, it automatically becomes greedier.

If they win, then they will do it again, until they lose and realize it doesn't work.
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler takes his own life after a loss. on: December 13, 2023, 05:14:38 PM
From this incident, a lesson can be learned that gambling must use money that you are willing to lose and that does not interfere with your life.
But most people lose control over it, to the point that they commit criminal acts such as stealing and also commit suicide if they are at the highest level of mental disturbance.

It's better to be a conservative and fun gambler than to risk your life, because for me gambling is entertainment. It's not the main job that I have to work hard to get big profits.
Hopefully many people will immediately become aware after reading about this incident, so they can immediately minimize the risk to their lives.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 13, 2023, 03:42:06 AM
Shorting your play time in gambling is the best strategy in gambling, apart from knowing how to manage your bankroll, don't spend too much time on a casino game, the longer the time you spent the more you lose, this is the truth that many gamblers won't accept at first until they realize it later.

For them it's about your addiction, and that's what brings in more money, and I am here to announce to you that time fixation is also a good way in gambling, spending 20 minutes in casino a day is better than someone who spend 1 hour.

1. Have a amount limit you can risk on gambling every week.

2. Choose your favourite day in a week for gambling.

3. Have a time count down when gambling, to avoid spending too much time.

Go back home or close your laptop once your time is up, and wait for the coming day, go back to your daily life and business, chase your goals using your business and invest more money on assets.

Do you agree or disagree? Drop your reason why.

Controlling time for gambling is easier to do than controlling the money that can be risked for gambling.
Because basically our fear and greed depend on money. In my opinion, the main priority is to regulate the amount of money used.

Gambling also cannot be based on time, it depends on how much money we can play the game.
The more money we are willing to play, the more likely we are to play for a long time. Unless you have a lustful tendency to bet All In.

But as normal humans, we shouldn't spend all day gambling, sometimes we need to relax with family or close friends.
This allows us to mentally refresh ourselves to be ready to gamble in the future. A good gambler is one who is able to control his own mentality.
276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: December 12, 2023, 02:06:22 AM
It was very difficult to see Barcelona's defeat against Girona, because there was a record that was broken too.
First time in history Girona beat Barcelona. Girona has standard player material, but has an even collective game in all lines.
Even when Real Madrid beat Girona at that time, they still had the majority of their core players such as Modric, Tchouameni, Vini Jr.
So I think Girona's current level of play is really surprising. Girona's competition to be at the top of La Liga reminds me of Leicester City in the 2015/2016 season. Hopefully, if Girona becomes La Liga champions this season, they will retain the majority of their starting eleven.
277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are slots hard to understand on purpose? on: December 11, 2023, 07:22:51 PM
If anyone has gotten used to gambling through crypto casinos, it's likely that they've become accustomed to games like dice. With dice everything is crystal clear: You know your winning odds and how much you are going to win if you roll within your target.
However with slots, you never know your win chance. You don't know what increasing your wager or coins does to winning chances and it's generally all so opaque.

Instead of winning chances there's terms like volatility and RTP,  which make little sense unless to the individual gambler. Honestly dice was complicated enough, slots are just too much. Makes me think that it could be on purpose. Players of slots seem to be unlikely to look into these details due to how complicated it is.

Has that been your experience too?

I have several friends who are quite good at playing slots in my opinion. The pattern that I see when they play is memorizing the image pattern, that way they have confidence that there will be some kind of historical sequence of the pattern.

Indeed, to me this doesn't make sense, because it is very difficult to break down the many image patterns in slot gambling. But my friends were successful and had a winning rate above 50%. I've tried doing it but it makes my head spin.

Fortunately, slots are quite fun because they are quite easy to play even for lay people, because you just have to place a bet and spin. Because currently the majority of slots are ones that are quite popular and are played by many users.
278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 11, 2023, 02:46:27 PM
It is Ten Hag's job to overcome these problems, and if there are still no significant changes, I think Man United will have to look for a replacement for him.
If Manchester united can try to replace Ten Hag this season, then they are getting everything wrong, their performance will end up getting worse, at least they are able to win some weak teams even as we all know they are struggling before they will win, but if they can change their coach, and sure they will be losing almost all their matches before the ending of the season, which they will end the season in a worst position. We all know the players are also suppose to be blamed, if the players are not really really to perform well, even after getting a new coach, i don't think their will be changes in Manchester united performance.

Over the years they've sacked too many coaches, Ten Hag is not a bad coach, and he knows about the difficulties around the club ans still wanted the job. It shows how much he loves the club and will do anything for the fans and the club. I doubt they'll be replacing Erik Ten Hag for that would be wrong and unwise decision to make.

They should rather sell out a couple of name within Manchester United. Some players are not up to the task. They should not be soft with them and chase whoever doesn't suits tue long term plans of thr club.
I still believe Erik ten Hag is the right person for the job, but the issue lies with players who are not willing to play for him. A true United fan can identify those players who prioritize money over the club. Ten Hag faces challenges at the club, but it's time for the management to support the coach over the players.
Despite some fans arguing that Ten Hag lacks vision for Old Trafford, it's unfair to say for his sacking. The club is currently in disarray, and they may not deserve a genuinely decent coach until they sort out the bigger issues.

I believe Ten Hag is a good coach tactically, but weak in dressing room management. Maybe he should emulate Ancelotti's style in dressing room management.
Because Manchester United is a big team studded with star players, special handling is needed so that the dressing room situation can be in sync.
But Red Devils fans will always put pressure on Ten Hag because of consecutive defeats, which is natural because the expectations of big team supporters are very high.
It depends on Ten Hag, currently his position is crucial to be replaced.
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 11, 2023, 11:00:58 AM
Does any of feel behavioral change in you based on the win/loss in gambling. Myself had experienced it, and personally I used to be happy and I used to be polite with my family members and kid whenever I am on profit. On the day of losing it changes exactly in the opposite way, even for simple things I get much anger. Particularly while giving food to kid patience is must. On winning days I let him take his own time and eat. On the losing days I used to shout at him. I'm addicted, and I want fellow gamblers to make a self analysis at regular interval and be on the safer side.

I didn't experience it, because I played using statistics to gamble. So mentally you will tend to be safe.
And also I use money that I deliberately set aside to play, so even if I win or lose it won't have any effect on my mentality and habits.

But sometimes humans are also greedy when they win, and afraid and even frustrated when they lose. This is normal and can still be improved.
The most important thing for me is that when I gamble, I have more time for myself.
Because if I play together it will really interfere with my decisions when gambling which can affect my mentality too.
280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: December 10, 2023, 06:40:39 PM

Cristiano Ronaldo is increasingly unstoppable after successfully leading Al-Nassr to victory at home with a score of 4-1 against Al-Riyadh. In that match, Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Al-Nassr with a shot in the 33rd minute using an assist from Sadio Mane. Apart from that, he not only scored a goal but he contributed to the second goal by providing an assist to Otavio which led to Al-Nassr's second goal. Towards the end of the match two additional goals were scored by Anderson Talisca and this also sealed Al-Nassr's landslide victory last night.

So far, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 16 goals and 8 assists in his 15 matches with Al-Nassr in the Saudi league and has also solidified his position at the top of the top scorer list for this season. Even so, Mitrovic from Al-Hilal continues to follow him with 14 goals. I don't think this will end and Cristiano Ronaldo will still score goals during this season and it is possible that he can finish with 30 goals per season.

The Saudi Arabian league is still too easy for Ronaldo even though Ronaldo is approaching retirement age for most professional players. Because in terms of play, Ronaldo has a wealth of experience playing in the world's top leagues such as the Premier League and La Liga.

It is possible that Ronaldo will have no difficulty getting an individual title in the Arab League. Unless 50% of former top league players have moved to Saudi to become Ronaldo's competitors for individual titles.
Unfortunately, the Arab League is still unable to take part in the most prestigious competition, namely the UEFA Champions League.

So I wouldn't be surprised if Ronaldo is currently one of the players with the most goals in the Arab League. Hopefully his game will be consistent even though he is getting older, at least helping his Al Nassr team to become champions of the Arab League.
