261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: i am not able to use my btc`s on: April 15, 2019, 10:54:50 PM
Hello Marie,

You want low transaction fees? Use this https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#0,24h

It's satoshis per byte data.

For example, Coinbin computes your transaction size would be around 256 bytes and at 60 satoshis per byte, the queued transactions are only around 1,000 so you have to pay 15,360 satoshis to be ahead of the queue.

Now you can also wait for the mempool to go near empty.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Worldopo - Economic Dapp game, Crypto using AR and Geo on: April 15, 2019, 07:23:48 PM
I don't really understand what you are trying to talk about, if the announcement thread of a project was removed from the forum, then the admin of the forum don't want to have anything to do with the forum and also don't want bitcointalk members to have anything to do with the forum and I don't see that as our business because the last I checked, an individual cannot delete a created topic but can only edit it, if I am wrong you can correct it but I am sure that I am right about this.

Moderator removed the ICO Announcement thread because it broke the rules on giveaways.

After the ICO, Worldopo gained a substantial number of players and investors. With so many of them in the Telegram group, not one of them thought of posting a new topic/new ANN in support of their community. So, I assume none of them (supporters) are Bitcointalk readers.

Or probably just lazy to make one.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum SCAM? on: April 15, 2019, 02:48:05 PM
Why is this thread not locked yet? Ethereum is not a scam. If it is, the thousands and thousands of ETH developers working directly on ETH or some side service involving the blockchain have been collectively fooled.
264  Other / Meta / Re: How Many Years on Bitcointalk? Take the Poll! on: April 14, 2019, 08:27:36 PM
Amazing. 54% joined Bitcointalk in 2016 and in the earlier years. So I assume these guys have already made a lot of profit and are probably holding to some coins for another possible bullrun!

So, 46% are probably underwater if they didn't sell during the parabolic climb.  Tongue
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Greed is bringing loss for traders on: April 12, 2019, 07:15:55 AM
On the contrary, greed is good. It is the motivator for everyone to buy a coin. Without it, no one would risk losing one's savings. The problem with how we handle greed is losing perspective and let our emotions cloud our judgement and reality.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Worldopo - Economic Dapp game, Crypto using AR and Geo on: April 10, 2019, 08:38:50 PM
I find it weird that the announcement threads of Worldopo (former Worldopoly) was removed and that no one ever replaced it with a newer thread. Also, its Reddit page is looking abandoned. But don't be fooled. Worldopo's Telegram group https://t.me/worldopo has 40,000 members and has a very active chat.

Could it be that those people are not Bitcointalk forum members at all? Not even one?

From the website https://www.worldopo.io/

Can I start playing Worldopo without investing in WPT?
Yes, since there are two different scenarios for both the casual players, that are looking to be more involved in the game process, and the crypto-investors that are more focused on investing and making a profit while playing the game.

Casual players - we call them "Makers" - can build different buildings and / or factories, produce necessary resources for themselves and other players, trade them, earn and develop their Real Estate empire on Hexagons owned by Cryptolords without the need to invest in WPT and purchase Hexes. Moreover, everyone can become a Cryptolord after getting sufficient game experience.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet that you trust? on: April 10, 2019, 03:40:50 PM
Metamask and MyEtherWallet, all the way!  Grin Well, both proven that their developers won't install some backdoor program to steal your keys. As for personal security, everyone is responsible for their own security. Never ever share private keys online.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Converted all altcoin back to BTC on: April 10, 2019, 10:56:21 AM
LMAO. It is the worst possible time to sell all your altcoins. December 2017 was the best time to sell. The next best time to sell is at the maximum euphoria where almost everyone is happy with their investments. However, some alts may not make it so diversification is good for this strategy.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SONM • Decentralized Fog Computing on: April 09, 2019, 08:50:15 AM
So for SONM OS all we need is a standard windows PC, format the disk and erase everything, and then rebuild with SONM OS. From this point that PC will be used on the SONM network and it will start to collect SONM tokens?
haven't tried sonm os yet, but you can dual boot windows and sonm os i guess. you might also have to do some configuration which shouldn't be hard to do.

I was thinking that most of us will have an old PC lying around which is sitting in a cupboard doing nothing, or even an old laptop. Could that be upgraded and used as a sonm generator or does it need some kind of special configuration and meet minimum spec?

i've got an old laptop that i'm planning on using to mine on somn, i dont think you need anything special as the auto installer takes care of that
How long you would be able to run your laptop to min SOMN? I don't think to use laptop is a good idea, desktop computer is better than a laptop. You can desktop computer as long as you want but for laptop you cant do that.

A laptop is better. Low power consumption. My laptop participates in another network testnet which is sharing disk space. Like I said very low power consumption since it involves mostly the hard disk resource. It can't obviously use its CPU for PoW.  Grin
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Liberland Merit (LLM) on: April 08, 2019, 08:57:32 PM
This year the Liberland anniversary wil be celebrated in the Serbian town of Sombor, for more details on our anniversary activities you can click this link: http://anniversary.ll.land/

I've been watching Liberland development for years. Unless you get a very rich sponsor, the country won't progress at all. The fact that all Liberland activities are still based outside Liberland tells you a lot that is still wrong.

Seychelles is a perfect country to emulate from, a roadmap if you will.

I don't think raising revenue from crypto is a good move.
271  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much time you spend to read forum post ? on: April 06, 2019, 06:28:24 PM
In my case, I am an altcoin holder and I hold 15 to 20 different types of altcoin. The Bitcointalk forum is the first stop for reading updates about the coin I hold. And then I move on to the coin's Telegram chat. I rarely visit their Reddit pages since I prefer chronological posting and not lists that prioritised popular posts.

So around one hour to three hours a day.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why Bounty Hunters Should Be Exempted from KYC/AML Procedures on: April 05, 2019, 07:18:25 AM
Be against KYC/AML Procedures by ICO fundraising projects or be for it. It doesn't really matter. You have no control whatsoever. The crypto space, more specifically, the ICO space is not well regulated so these ICOs can do whatever they need to do. Usually, they do KYC to avoid being hounded by the G-man.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Obyte: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: April 04, 2019, 07:20:40 AM
I'm sure the 1,000 pages of the Obyte thread accounts for something, maybe even Google's search engine is directing new queries to this thread. And also the old holders may go back to this thread to look for updates.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Smart Containers SMARC ICO 🗺✈️ Scaling a Running Logistics Business on: April 03, 2019, 12:04:37 PM
Dear all,

please read our quarterly report for Q1/2019 here: https://medium.com/smart-containers/smart-containers-quarterly-update-q1-2019-e7c35fc1d5ba

Regards
Ineff

According this report, listing is going to be slow and hard since the SMARC token is after all a security token.
The SMARC token (SMARC) is a profit share token: 20% of future dividends and exit profits will be paid out to token holders. ~ The SMARC token smart contract evaluates the current holdings and dis- tributes the profits to the token holders in Ether.

Security tokens are new and more regulated by governments so expect delays.

Wow, Dent trading volume continues to increase and has been increasing since March 27. Something is up and no one knows what it is. I 'm betting a lot of the posters here will soon be dumbfounded.

strange that update cause so much price movement down...

I don't know. It looks to me, someone cashed out his EDG winnings or income in a hurry. He couldn't wait for buyers to buy up. I think it's just a temporary glitch since many tokens or altcoins are returning to green again.
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SENDING BITCOIN WITHOUT THE INTERNET on: April 01, 2019, 04:54:58 PM
If a signed transaction is not broadcasted to the network, it won't end up in the mempool of a mining node, so it has 0 chance of getting into a block (getting confirmed)

Does this mean that it is possible to do offline transaction but still need internet for the transaction to be confirmed?
You can DEFINITELY do signed offline transactions and yes it needs to be sent to a node to be confirmed on the blockchain.

I think you can actually avoid using the internet if you can send the signed Bitcoin transaction over to a miner to confirm the transaction for you. It would be a big hassle though, inputting the TX from paper.
278  Other / Meta / Re: I'm not going to comply KYC on: April 01, 2019, 10:43:02 AM
I think you should fill out the KYC, its important that the forum knows who you are...  Grin

Remember to upload a good picture of yourself, so everyone can verify you if they want to.  And after that, you will be a trusted verified member, with a nice green line in your profile.  Shocked

Yeah, very important  Wink especially the lines stating that you need to list all your addresses and what crimes you have committed. You do this and you will be immune from red tagging by the DT members.  Grin
279  Other / Meta / Re: KYC is now required for Bitcointalk on: April 01, 2019, 07:43:35 AM
First, want to say this was an excellent idea Theymos and if you need someone to grow this KYC process further (for maximum exposure), I'm your man. Time to rid the plague of all the corrupted assholes and scammers; having 100% transparency in crypto is a brilliant idea.

Why should you submit it? It's like everything you do in life, you prove who you are and your good intentions? Fuck privacy and all you shady characters who linger on these forums for nothing more than profits. This is the real world. Uncle Sam spies on you daily, there's nothing that you can do to resist this new era.

Oh man, your post sounded serious and believable. Many know that Theymos wouldn't do a KYC. It has been discussed many times long ago in the Meta Section. And it's April's Fools Day. Crazy shit happens in Bitcointalk on April 1.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Holding multiple altcoins on: March 29, 2019, 06:14:20 PM
You are crazy to hold all coins in a single wallet. One mistake, all gone. My tip is to create one virtual machine for each coin. One wallet, one virtual machine. Store private keys on paper or in several places offline. Why separate machines? So that in case it's a trojan, it won't affect the other wallets or your main OS.
