141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What should I do with a 1000$ and what would you do? on: September 22, 2019, 02:03:46 PM
It is not yet time to invest in altcoins. Altcoins always follow Bitcoin into a real bull market. The BTC market is still unsure whether to go up above $13k or go back to $6,000.

You can always try your hand in leverage trading of Bitcoin.
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can exchanges steal my ether on: September 22, 2019, 01:57:22 PM
The title of the thread is very vague. But I will attempt to answer completely. All exchanges can steal your ETH as long as they are in possession of its private key. A centralized exchange like Binance, you just have to trust them not to steal your coins because its their private keys, not yours.

While decentralized exchanges can be spoofed and phished by malicious actors and what's worst the actual exchange is stealing from you.

What you can do is always keep most of your coins in cold wallets, away from stealing hands.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SONM • Decentralized Fog Computing on: September 21, 2019, 07:40:15 PM
why would you people invest in something called fog computing lol

You obviously don't know what fog computing is. FYI, Cisco coined the term which means extending cloud computing services closer to an enterprise's network. It is a trending but still nascent movement in enterprises because it is more efficient.
144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Still Better than US Dollar? on: September 19, 2019, 07:19:02 PM
One thing I learned these past few years is that never put your savings in a bank as fiat. Your 4 dollars today may buy you a Big Mac meal, but in the next 10 years, it will only pay for the softdrink. One should put their savings into hard assets like land, gold and of course, Bitcoin.
145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright is official a fraud on: September 19, 2019, 07:11:18 PM
Craig is a fraud and it was clear from the beginning.

What is gonna happen when his month runs out with the court for a settlement with the Klieman estate for 1/2 billion USD?

I mean, what is he planning to do then? Change his gender/identity and run for the hills?

brad

"Doctor" Craig Wright will probably declare he has lost access to those bitcoins or maybe fake his own death or maybe just disappear. Whatever it is, he won't admit he is fraud. Because admitting is the ultimate humiliation.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Holding Altcoins can get you Rekt on: September 18, 2019, 06:40:52 PM
No,  you are wrong. Trading Bitcoin with high leverage without any trading skills will get you rekt or wiped out entirely of your portfolio. While holding altcoins even with basic risk management won't get you rekt. It is more like waiting for a long time before you profit.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Blockchain-based social media worth it? on: September 18, 2019, 06:36:02 PM
It is a niche for now. Remember most people in the Internet are used to easy usage of web services, not all people can navigate Github, lol. When the perfect blockchain-based social media comes along, it will be better than Facebook - faster, not much ads, user-friendly, without users knowing it's blockchain-based.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are there any Altcoins out there backed by real assets? on: September 18, 2019, 06:30:48 PM
There are lots of coins/tokens that claims they are backed by gold but I don't think that they are really backed by gold.  They just use this scheme to entice investors to invest on their project.  I have seen several projects that claims to be backed by real asset but they failed on proving that they really are backed by what they claim and eventually, the project die or the developer runs with the collected money.

This is so true. None of them that claims they backed by hard assets were true. Even Tether is proven to be running as a fractional reserve. Another unbelievable asset-backed coin is Petro, cryptocurrency by Maduro's government which is turning out to be scam.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alt coins bleeding on: September 17, 2019, 05:57:12 PM
The bleeding of altcoins will stop very soon. Many of crypto Twitter are already calling for another altcoin season since seeing the Bitcoin dominance chart stopping at 70%. Well, it can't bleed forever. It will reverse soon, maybe next month.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Worldopo - Economic Dapp game, Crypto using AR and Geo on: September 16, 2019, 07:07:22 PM
Update: the release of the new version of the game is close as never before. They said in this update, along with updated graphics, you certainly will see new gameplay, which will include the connection of electricity, Internet, influence of buildings, drones and much more. A more detailed list of changes will be posted immediately before the release. And of course, one of the most important components of the update will be strategy and economics, including changes on mining farms.

151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Massive $1 Billion Bitcoin Whale Transaction Makes Waves on: September 15, 2019, 08:17:10 PM
Did the whale transfer his coins to a Segwit address? Plus he also moved his Rogercoins and Craigcoins to new addresses.

https://bchsvexplorer.com/address/1JCe8z4jJVNXSjohjM4i9Hh813dLCNx2Sy

Those are good "dividends". Cool

Aha! At least we know the Bitcoin whale is definitely not a Bitcoin maximalist. If he were, he would have already sold both BTC wannabes long ago.  I think the BTC will end up with Bakkt's custody.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bakkt Will be launched by 23 September btc vs altcoins on: September 15, 2019, 08:09:54 PM
Bakkt Launch Will bring bull run for btc Right?
Not sure yet. BTC price must break up above the triangle formation.

But what about alts like ETH, LTC, BCH. Do You think that Bakkt Launching could affect alt coins aswell somehow?
Altcoins will get a bull market when BTC is in a bull market. Right now, a lot of people still think we are in a BTC bear market.

What You Think 23 september what Will be the btc price gain by %
Down to $8k or up to $14k

And who are the investors who Will be using the BAKKT platform?.  Its Wall Street, so They are bigger investors Right? Or are They retail investors?
There is a minimum deposit, I think. So, this is not like Coinbase at all.

153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Based - 0$ fees international money transfers wallet on: September 13, 2019, 05:56:53 PM
Zero fees are the bait alright. The intended target here is the crypto illiterate. You can't have zero fees when most blockchain networks require transaction fees, even the PoS networks has fees. How will they suppose to profit from this? I might believe them if they shilled cheap fees instead.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are ICOs success factors? on: September 12, 2019, 03:57:10 PM
You can't have an honest survey with altcoin bagholders. It's like asking a poor man what is the secret to making a million dollars. You probably need to talk to Ethereum heads or similar coin teams with a positive ROI in their coins.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When Bitcoin pumps in 2020 after halving, what effect will it have alt coins? on: September 12, 2019, 03:53:07 PM
If you note the first and the last time altcoins had a real bull market it was during the rise of Bitcoin from $14 to $1100 plus and most recently the rise from $600 to $20,000. Altcoins do well when Bitcoin is in an obvious bull run.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what do you think of the next crypto wave/pump? on: September 11, 2019, 04:21:27 PM
last time it was ethereum and ico.
what do you think the next wave would be?

The thinking back in 2018 was the next wave will be about security tokens. So far, none have made a successful security token offering. Every security token offering has to be approved by the government.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Many new traders are playing to lose on: September 11, 2019, 04:05:50 PM
Many traders are dumb, thinking they could outsmart the markets without having any skill in analyzing them. Some even mock technical analysis as nothing and compare it to tarot card reading. I'm sure they will get wiped out one day.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My greatest crypto regret on: September 10, 2019, 09:55:57 PM
Still my greatest regret is not knowing about Bitcoin in 2010 or 2011. I thought of myself as a computer geek, but it was all about commercial programming for me. I spent more time in Stack Exchange, learning about javascript, html, and PHP. If I have known about Bitcoin, I would have tried mining it from my desktop and kept it for a souvenir.
159  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ⚠️ How Scammer tried to Hack my Bitcointalk and how to Protect yourself?⚠️ on: September 10, 2019, 09:50:34 PM
I think everyone should think about personal security as a standard operating procedure. Gone are the days that simple and similar  passwords across all web properties are enough. Everything is getting on the Internet, even your finances. That's why every link should be thought as suspect.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will There Really Be An Altcoin Season or Just a plot to Keep us in the Loop on: September 10, 2019, 09:46:11 PM
Fact: No one really knows how long a bear market lasts or do they know how long a bull market lasts too.

Fact: Another altcoin season will come. Why? Because innovation is not limited to one group. Anything revolutionary can happen from an unexpected source.
