Blu Products also makes budget friendly smart phones.  I like the styling and design a little better and they have several models to choose from.

The link below shows a rendering of the rumored new iPhone 6 coming out soon.  Some are speculating it will include a curved display.  Samsung is also rumored to be preparing a curved galaxy s phone in their next generation.  I like the the looks of the device and the extra screen space it provides.  One drawback may be the way cases/bumpers fit.  Opinions?

263  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why can't we just keep accelerating in space? on: April 24, 2014, 01:35:46 AM
Space is not a perfect vacuum.  Also, it takes more & more energy to accelerate. Theoretically you could accelerate to nearly the speed of light with enough energy but then time would nearly be at a standstill.  The reason it has hit its limits is because of the amount of energy used (and gravitational slingshot effect) to thrust the vehicle.

I think you can only search for drugs and other illegal substances. it is like google with special filter.

You can search lower than the Charter Web with it. Hopefully nobody does this. Crazy shit goes on below the Charter, and even Tor can't protect you from it. You have to have at least 1-2 VPNs. Most users from HackForums haven't even gone on it. And I thought we were the craziest fan base out there.

Charter web what is that?

The Charter Web is the Level 4 and dark secret part of the internet. It mostly deals with Government and legal/political stuff/secrets. It is a high chance you will be tracked here and the FBI will show up, especially if you find out something big. Other than that, child porn, human trafficing, cannibalism and more lurks in this area. Though most people tend to choose level 3 of the internet (the deep web), or level 5 (the Marianas Web). Level 5 is beyond this and The Marianas Web. It is good to have some Proxy or Tor here. Though in this level, Tor and most other protection add-ons tend to start becoming unuseful as this is where the super hackers lurk that can easily outsmart mostly anything thrown at them. I would not suggest going past this level, even entering this level at all (same with level 3). But if you do, be warned.

Guys....grams is just a google like search engine for the darknet.  It makes it more simple to search for sites on the darknet.

Darknet will soon have decentralized "everything" using dark market.  Even servers like Silk Road will be decentralized.  Content will be distributed on users and vendors computers instead of a server.  This includes forums and others typical server platforms.  Amir Taaki is working on the project.

"DarkMarket is an open source marketplace technology which utilizes every user—both vendors and customers—to host product pages, messenger pages, and the market as a whole."

This article describes it fairly well.

Here you go....buy 20 of these DVDs when they are available.

Looks like the largest hard drive to be produced in the near future is 60 TB

I have several (3 or 4) external drives filled with video data (not porn lol).  Ok well...not ALL of it is porn.  And I wish I could just have one drive to rule them all.

http://www.drobo.com/storage-products/drobo/

I have one.  It's awesome.  You can hot swap any drive, any size, any manufacturer without formatting or partitioning.  Your computer recognizes it as one drive.  By putting four 6tb drives in there, you would have 18TB of storage in one drive!

+1 for Drobo....I have one as we'll and they are great.

I don't think people comprehend how HUGE a PETABYTE is.  1 PB could store 13.3 years of HD video.  1 PB is supposedly how much video Netflix stores.

Hell, Wikipedia database is only 9.85 gigabytes compressed (44 uncompressed) (and available for download.)

With tax day fast approaching in the United States, the subject of Bitcoin and taxation has been all over the news lately.

Lol...I stopped reading after the first sentence.  Tax day has come and gone already.  Today is the 16th of April!

274  Other / Off-topic / Re: MtGox: What would Marcus Lemonis do? on: April 11, 2014, 06:55:10 PM
For those of you who have watched "The Profit", if Marcus Lemonis were to buy MtGox for 1BTC like that investor group is proposing, what would he do?

I'll start...

Overhaul the website in multiple languages
Update the logo
Disrespect the current management
Offer to pay customers back their stolen BTC over the course of the next 2-4 years

$400+ million (or whatever the going rate is now) is a lot of money to try to "pay back".  Cheaper to just start your own new exchange.  And I am sure there is a lot of investments out there that are less risky.

Updated title looks lot better Mktrader.  Thanks for revising.

It's not getting bought out (for 1 BTC) - it's just a proposal that Karpeles will turn down. So, fix your title - it's misleading!

No kidding!  Fix title...so misleading.  That group only offered 1 BTC for Mtgox.  I can't see that happening anytime soon.

It does not matter as they are taking burden of a major portion of the account holders' investment.

Your title:
Re: Breaking News: Mt.Gox to be Bought & Revived by a U.S. based Investors Group

Mtgox is not being "bought & revived by a US based investors group".

There was just an offer put on the table according to the article.  I am sure there probably has been several offers already.

(Linked to reuters because of stupid WSJ paywall blocks some people)

You also forgot to mention this from the article:

"The acquisition must be approved by a Japanese bankruptcy court. However, the near-zero valuation of the proposed deal could prove to be a hurdle, the Journal said."

Instead of a card why not a phone app?  You could just create QR code and let the machine scan it.  Once you are linked up, everything would be seamless.  Last thing I want is another card in my wallet.
