There are seers here. How long will we still fall? All the coins are in a drawdown. Everyone repeats bitcoin movements. It seems like a world conspiracy of elites.

Yes, the elites want in at cheap prices before the market takes off again. Anyway too many have had to pull money out of market to pay taxes. I expect at least a 25% uptick in April.

Hey all I need some clarification on the staking system. I was under the impression that if your ticket doesn't stake after 4 months, you get the funds back. I put in for a ticket on Nov 20, but nothing has happened as of yet. How much more longer until it either stakes or funds are released?  Again, I thought the timeline was 4 months but now I think I got that part twisted Huh

You have some really bad luck here mate sorry to hear that. Chances that you ticket isnt picked in 4 months is very small but it will happen very occasionally. If you have only 1 ticket its even more frustrating I can imagine. I believe if your ticket isnt picked after 6 months you get your funds back. In practice, this will almost never happen but you can get unlucky like in your case. Hope your ticket is picked very soon, I dont think anything can be done in the meantime but maybe someone who knows more about it can add some info.

sorry thought by head 6 months but appears to be shorter than that, as mentioned below my post
Thank you for your quick response, I appreciate it! And don't worry it wasn't my only ticket (well it is right now) I have had 5 tickets in the past vote. It is unfortunate but I knew the chances going into it Smiley.

I think it is 142 days, so you are getting close.
Ah kk then it means ~14 more days at maximum cool stuff. If I waited 4 months I can wait another 2 weeks, thanks for providing that knowledge!

So to stake DCR I need to lock my coins for 142 days? And even after that I could be prohibited to stake and release of my investment?

I didn't know DCR can be staked, but this scheme looks weird to me. What is the interest of staking DCR? Thanks

Yes, you buy tickets, thus staking your coins. The average ticket hits the reward in 28 days, but if your ticket is one of the unlucky .5% to not win a reward your ticket is released after 142 days and your coins are again spendable by you. The current ticket now costs around 87 DCR.

I see this exchange being promoted in ads recently.  I am honestly not convinced yet that it is a legit exchange.   Voting requires that we sign up and pay some kind of crypto?  Sorry, I think that everyone will pass and Incent will stay in last place.

These types of "ads" are frequently showing up on this these threads. Ignore them or report them. Clicking on the link could inject a virus, so I wouldn't.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | NEO Smart Economy⚡Now a Top 10 Cryptocurrency⚡| Official Thread |Updated Aug10 on: March 27, 2018, 10:27:41 AM
I want to ask a question, is the price of NEO pulled up when the price is bear market? It's too long for me to remember, it seems to be rising slowly.

When BTC is in a heavy bear, just about all coins are impacted. However, NEO will likely be one of the coins to rise the fastest once Bitcoin starts going higher.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: March 27, 2018, 10:21:24 AM
This is a great crypto, I wonder why this one is still not on binance? Binance should look into it and put it up.

Coins must pay Binance to be listed, and the fee is not cheap.

And how much is the fee to be listed on binance? I thought binance had a rigorous process for specific coin to be listed, didn't knew their was a fee.

I think about $100,000.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: March 26, 2018, 10:25:49 AM

For those running the sia backbone for storage, how it exists now, how is the interface? Is it working ok?

Anything of note coming to help you guys with this process soon?

Just lurking, not running any of this, just wondering if the interface has improved to at least

toss any comments of note to us NOT doing any of this...just seeing how this part of sia-tech's plan is working (or not so much)

brad

Hi, i run a host for now o er a year. Works without issues.

I heard the GUI sucks (compared to storj) and other user end issues putting it behind ...also did those minerbox's ever ship from last summer or was that a dead end

we need ease of use for newbs like me to set this up for giggles..tried like 3 months ago ..threw up my hands

brad

Yeah I share your opinion here, Sia need a newbie friendly gui wallet. Otherwise if people can find a way to easily get into sia they might go to other coins and wont come back soon

Sia is concentrating on getting the tech behind the scenes working as well as possible. Work on the pretty user interfaces will come later.

Warning! Use the strong passphrases in Agama and BarterDEX.

Few days ago i did some security research with main question "How strong are passphrases used by people?" in Agama and Barterdex and seems some people were used very weak combinations as passphrase (it can be easily bruted or used by other people).
Here is a list of affected addresses:

If you are found your address in this list - create new really strong passphrase and transfer your funds to new address. Don't use previous address for any purposes.

that it means a "weak" password?

So, how could this guy know if you have a weak password? The data he posted can be obtained from a block explorer. What's the game here?

FYI, the address on the bottom got hacked and had his funds stolen as posted on reddit.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | NEO Smart Economy⚡Now a Top 10 Cryptocurrency⚡| Official Thread |Updated Aug10 on: March 23, 2018, 07:22:51 PM
What do you think about this question I found on reddit? I was thinking a lot too!

"Been holding strictly NEO for quite some time, since the antshares days, and earning my gas dividends which is fantastic. But today, I've decided to sell all NEO for Gas, I think it's a wise move here's why.

NEO's all time high was about $190.00, Gas reached $90.00. That said, I think everyone here is in the same belief that NEO and GAS will reach their old all time high's again and much more. So if NEO were to reach it's all time high again from today (neo is currently $65), then you'd almost 3x your money. If Gas were to reach it's all time high (it's $21.00 today) you'd more than 4x your money"

Do you need to pay capital gains taxes on those sales? They can also change the GAS fees at any point, I am not convinced that this is the right move, but it might be.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ NMR ] Numeraire - What do you think about? on: March 23, 2018, 12:33:41 PM
I stumbled upon this old thread ..and was interested to know if the above posters were still holding on to their NMRs. ( Now that 1 NMR=$14 today )

By the way - Here's an update on the NMR front -
Numer.ai is giving away $1 million in airdrops ( but only for those who have a kaggle account - a data science platform by google.)
i.e 5NMR right away + 1 NMR per week. ( If you are above 'novice' (on kaggle) and have a numer.ai account ) and can put your profile url to that of your numer.ai url.

Link here : https://numer.ai/airdrops

Confession: I still hold considerable amounts of NMR . ( After many ups and downs and value erosion.)

No I dumped all my NMR for AGI recently, which appears to have a much better vision that will reward investors in the long term.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] SingularityNET: Decentralizing the Future of AI on: March 23, 2018, 12:32:09 PM
To be honest: it is a mistery for me why the value of the AGI tokens keep dropping. I do not have available funds, but if I did I would buy a lot more. People are crazy selling AGI for this price..

Maybe this is why: https://www.reddit.com/r/SingularityNet/comments/86jno7/note_about_speculative_trading_agi_on_the_newly/

Bascially the team doesn't care about the price at this point. They are purely focused on building the system and not marketing the coin, which is fine. Still in this bearish market all is going down, so who knows where the bottom is.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: March 22, 2018, 07:16:51 PM
Is it me or Lisk need a new/better way to handle delegates and reward associate with it ?!?!!??!?!??!
It is a big mess, trying to find who to vote for, how much they share and how many lisk I am accumulating from each delegate.
And I am even not talking about the big "monopole" around the 101 delegate and referral voting system in place...

Delegates are a basic fundamental of LISK, I think the DEV team should handle it with a better interface and RULES !!!

Yes, the team is aware of the problems and have put it on their list to address. However, they have bigger fish to fry right now, so don't expect any quick fixes soon.

I use the neo-gui wallet to track my NEO and I want to get access to my Ontology tokens received in the airdrop.

Can I open a wallet in Neon using the neo-gui private keys and access the Ontology tokens, most importantly is it safe to do this.
Another way I thought of doing it was to move my NEO to another wallet and then open a Neon wallet with the keys from the NEO wallet that has the ONT tokens, and if it goes wrong all I lose is the ONT, will this work ?

You can see your ONT in the neo-gui wallet, follow these steps:

 Go to Advanced:
 1 Options
 2 Add ONT Scripthash: ceab719b8baa2310f232ee0d277c061704541cfb
 3 Apply/Ok
 4  Wallet Sync
5 You should now see your ONT Tokens

Thanks that helped, but it was "Invoke Contract" and not "Options" that I had to use. The ONT show up but there is no option to transfer them, the "Issuer" part of wallet shows "ScripHash:0xceab719b8baa2310f232ee0d277c061704541cfb" and it is greyed out (there have been many confirmations of the transaction).

I tried the same thing, Invoke Contract, with the Hashpuppies, 2328008e6f6c7bd157a342e789389eb034d9cbc4, I have but these did not show up, I can see then on Neotracker but they not appear in the neo-gui wallet.

EDIT: Hashpuppies now showing up in neo-gui wallet, as "Redeemable HashPuppy Token"
It looks like I had to do both "Invoke Contract" and "Options" to get the tokens to show - still can't transfer ONT to Binance but Hashpuppies are now an available asset to transfer, but nowhere to transfer them to.

Will ONT show up on neotracker? do you need gas to send ONT?

Yes, the ONT I received in the airdrop shows up on Neotracker. I don't see ONT, or Hashpuppies, on other NEO block explorers just on neotracker.io.
I don't know if ONT needs GAS.

Update;
I opened my neo-gui wallet - no ONT showing - did the "Invoke contract" and "Options" thing again and now ONT is showing as transferable asset.
On Binance it says that there is a transaction fee of 0.1 ONT, but what is it if I send from my wallet to Binance ?

No exchanges that I know of charge for deposits. Just FYI, I would't sell ONT at these low levels, unless you really need to.

ok, no, I skipped that idea Smiley would say PoS in title is mentioned kinda misleading

huh? this is exactly what pos means, ahhahahh

POS = Proof of Stake
By staking your coins your you will receive rewards depending on the amount staked and time.

neo is falling hard... do you think it will recover ATH ?

Of course, they are aiming to be the #1 blockchain by 2020. China is also showing signs of starting to embrace blockchain. Will it take weeks, months or longer to get to ATH is the unknown.
