Hello guys!
How many DCR do I need for a ticket (for POS)?

Average ticket price is 62 DCR. You need enough to purchase at least 1 whole ticket.

Thx for answer! A 2 month earlier it was ~52. Is this value going highier and highier throught the time?

See https://dcrstats.com/ - scroll down a bit and you will see a graph of ticket prices over time. For me since the ticket price is pretty stable, I just buy one each time one my previous dcr tickets votes, and don't look at prices anymore.
724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: August 14, 2017, 10:41:32 AM
I guess Filecoin could be a blessing for SiaCoin unless they deliver a perfect product very soon. People got excited by the idea, many of them might not heard of it any further and don't know SiaCoin. When time goes buy and no mayor development steps are done by Filecoin team the holders will get disappointed. Since the idea itself is genuine they will search for good alternatives moving their money from Filecoin to Siacoin. I think this is not an unlikely scenario.

Agreed, this is very complex code they are writing with lots of moving pieces. I think eventually Sia will stand out of the crowd as there quality software is obvious to me.

I have around 1k kmd, will I get half of JUMBLERor is 2k kmd minimum requirement to get it?

20.2 kmd= .01 jumblr

Just so it is clear, there is no minimum requirement, so you will get ~.5 jumblr
Ok thanks for the answer.it is exciting to get additional benefits for holding somthing Smiley

The lead developer, jl777, is providing these out of his personal holdings, and has a history of surprises like this. The KMD development team is very dedicated and generous. I think all KMD holders will be happy when this project comes together.

This coin has grown too much in such a short time, it is very scary to get in now...

That's what everybody said about ETH when it was $50, I expect NEO to match or exceed ETH at some in the coming months to a year. Also consider ETH has a circulating supply of 93M while NEO only has a 50M circulating supply, so it may go significantly higher than ETH. Wait till the ICO's start rolling out on NEO and these prices will look cheap IMO.
Let have some ratios so that we can roughly gauge the price.
1. baidu/google stock market capitalization
2. tencent / facebook stock market capitalization
3. no of full time developer (NEOS = 6)/ ETH developer.
4. youku revenue vs youtube revenue any other indicators are welcome.

Now NEOS maket cap vs Eth market cap = 2.6/28 (roughly 10%)
I expect the max it can be up to 50% ETH price but I think it will crash first before reaching newer height.
just my 2 cents

It could crash, or it may consolidate in the 40 - 60 range for a bit, but there is obviously much demand for this coin. Most alts are in bearish or standing still period while NEO keeps showing great strength. A consolidation phase would be healthy.

What's happening today? Shocked

The ICO site is live again announced and more details on the JUMBLR drop were announced.

I guess that's good and it will grow right?

It popped 54% in the last 24 hours, so investors seem to think so. For every 2000 KMD you hold in your wallet (not on exchange) you will get 1 JUMBLR. Someone speculated 1 JUMBLR may be worth 1 bitcoin, so this is a significant reward if true.
If you donīt have 2000KMD do you get a partial Jumbler? As in satoshis of a Jumbler? And does anyone knows the fee to withdraw KMD from cryptopia? I donīt really know if i should hold it there or in agama...

Yes absolutely you will get a fractional payout. Also you must move the KMD off the cryptopia exchange into a wallet you control such as the agama one in order to get the payout. I don't know what the fee is, but it is probably like .1 KMD or less.

Anyway you also want to hold your KMD in your own wallet to collect the 5% yearly interest that you will accumulate just for holding KMD. (you won't earn it on the exchange). Read more about KMD interest here: https://supernet.org/en/resources/articles/receive-free-coins-quaranteed-kmd-interest

Well damn, I expected a crash but I didn't expect it to regress all the way back to the beginning in just one day. Definitely didn't time this one right, should have sold and bought back in for a higher stake count.

Volatility in crypto is unpredictable to me. I find it less stressful to buy and hodl, and cash out a certain % when targets are reached.

Since i opened this topic the price was under 5$

Nice call, since July 4 GAS is up over 10x while NEO is up 6x. Owners of either should be happy.

Is this the same coin with 50 million pre-mined? so half the supply is yours just as well as the other half being sold in what ICO? how many alt coins have you copied into this one? I want to know what people using this NEO for, just it doesn't make any sense, there is no decentralization here.
We are unable to get some NEO without paying for them, that's not a crypto currency.

NEO has committed to using those funds for the benefit of NEO. To create future connections, pay developers, marketing and so on.
733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | NEO Smart Economy⚡Now a Top 10 Cryptocurrency⚡| Official Thread |Updated Aug.9 on: August 13, 2017, 02:36:36 PM
What do you think will happen to the NEO course if a military conflict between the United States and North Korea begins?
There are forecasts that all Asian markets strongly collapse..

Who knows, but my guess is that crypto remains strong. It seems the more chaos there is in the world, the more Bitcoin and other strong coins will be seen as a place of stability. Fiat can be printed for the cost of paper and is unlimited unlike crypto. If NEO's only market is China, that is still extremely bullish IMO.
734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: August 13, 2017, 02:26:14 PM
There are currently many cryptocurrencies based on PoS (Proof of Stake). All these PoS algorithms differ from each other. Some or maybe all of them (I don't know) implement some kind of random election of nodes who participate in the "bookkeeping-process"/"block-forging-process" via having some amount of stake.

How can a random election work in an trustless decentralized environment? Mr. Vitalik claims that he found a solution. Is there anything published so far that there is a solution to this or how do other PoS cryptocurrencies or cryptocurrencies that do random election in a decentralized environment realize this in a working and fair way?

NEO is the new ETH

I said it first on this board when NEO (then antshares) was only a dollar: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=428589.msg19307682#msg19307682

This is only hypothetical ... the conversion rate from the jumblr snapshot will derive from , it looks like for every 2000 KMD will be equivalent to 1 Jumblr. As of today's KMD value 1 Jumblr will almost correspond to 1 BTC. Again this only for explanation purposes as we all know by the time jumblr tokens hit the market , it can be influenced by dumpers or pumpers.

Wow, if 1 jumblr = ~1 BTC, the value of the jumblr drop would be even greater than the value of the KMD holdings value (at the current prices), this would be amazing!, and very bullish.

Agreed, I can see no compelling reason to update the old Antshares wallet now.

it's per month, another useful tool for calculation ROI is http://www.posmaster.info/

Actually, I think it's per ticket with no reference to the time period.
If the ticket takes 1 month to vote, then it also happens to be per month but you can't know that.
It has 50% chance to vote within a month and must vote within 6 months ore expire.

This is a return of currently 2.34 percent. With continuous buying, this value works out to be return per month. With at least ~100 tickets you can expect to see this return each month. Fewer tickets will still average to this value each month over time, but you will see increased variation on a month-to-month basis.

is anybody smart enough to figure this out if the above statement is correct?

The statement It has 50% chance to vote within a month is not quite true. Actually on average each ticket will vote in 28 days. Read the official Decred thread for all the details but it is technical: https://docs.decred.org/mining/proof-of-stake/

I found the ROI statement on https://dcrstats.com/ seems pretty accurate.

Yes, and you need another full day for the stake to mature, and then another for a ticket purchase to mature again. So the whole cycle takes about 30 days.
Also, it is possible that the ticket votes from the beginning (after it matures) instead of 28 days, which means you can rebuy and start the cycle again even earlier.
So if I buy 100 tickets in day 1, I would expect at day 30 to have more than 50 voted as some of them will have voted very early and others would be bought in their place in the mean time.
But still I would not expect to have 100 voted on average every 30 days, so the return per month should be less that 2.34% because that return would imply that with X tickets holding (and rebuying) you get on average X votes per month

I think it it would still be about 2.34% return, since you can start buying more tickets with those tickets that voted early. I just looked back at my last 30 days and it seems on average each of my tickets voted once.

Targets for RADS: 0.003, 0.007 and the favourite target 0.013 BTC
https://www.tradingview.com/chart/RADSBTC/Ak9aFmsk-Radium-s-path-to-the-tree-of-life/

Hope to see it in 2017

0.013 would be nice, I just picked up my first RADS bag yesterday. I have a soft spot for POS coins and it seems like a reasonably good value at these levels.
