281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: March 19, 2018, 09:59:19 PM
So, from the “This thread is 2200 pages long and I just can’t find the answer” pile I have a quick question. So if it has been asked and answered before sorry but there really needs to be a simple FAQ someplace. And a big honking blinking arrow to where it is, because if there is one I missed that too.

According to https://lisk.support/knowledge-base/#kb-voting-explained if I vote for a delegate and then add more LISK to the address that voted the extra LISK that I added are automatically counted.

Is this accurate? I had 1 big LISK address and a few smaller ones. I finally got around to combining them in a few weeks ago but the rewards have stayed about the same. Since adding the smaller ones effectively doubled the amount of LISK in that address I would think the rewards would be about doubled.

Or am I missing something obvious?

Thanks,
Dave

Some delegates pay monthly so you may not notice the increase for a bit.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: March 19, 2018, 10:41:00 AM
Should I continue to hold Komodo?  I also have Zcash & blocknet but I see komodo just goign down in the pas 30 days .  I still think komodo  have bright the future.

If you are not going to DYOR then no. This is eventually a top 20 coin when all the pieces together, but it is not for weak hands.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] SingularityNET: Decentralizing the Future of AI on: March 19, 2018, 10:35:33 AM
Exactly that is what I understood as well that team consists real people who are very respected because of their work. AGI token is highly undervalued seeing the potential and here in this market until product isn't delivered people use most of the projects as speculative tools. We can find small number of people investing in tech and concept buy large are quick profit makers.

call me crazy but i see AGI as a 5+ years investment. I will definitely take some profit along the way, but AI is only just getting started

I agree, AGI is not a project for a quick flip. They are establishing something massive and this project should be one to watch in the following years. Possibly the best AI project on the blockchain.

Yea, I took this opportunity over the last week to establish a position. I was wondering if we would get below ICO prices, but there is solid support.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: March 18, 2018, 01:17:00 PM

thanks for posting.
I read this on it: "In Bitcoin, transactions are traceable. In 2018, Decred wants to introduce a proposal for a unique privacy feature that will allow users to send untraceable payments".

So, there will be no way to know if and when i will send some decred to someelse? I don't know all of this privacy will be a great idea or a dangerous..

I think they will implement it in such a way that it is optional to send it privately or not.

yep, will be optional

well, don't you think if someone use to send decred privately people will think that that user have something to hide?
Well, anyway, thinking better, i say that is better have this option than to not have it.

Yes, perhaps from an oppressive government that likes to seize assets.

But, i'm still waiting that they will be listed on Poloniex and Bittrex, i think it is easy for such huge and ambitious project and team. Of course Binance would be great too, but we should start from that both, not so huge in vilume but good to trade too.

I think I read somewhere the team is not pushing the coin to be listed on any exchanges.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | NEO Smart Economy⚡Now a Top 10 Cryptocurrency⚡| Official Thread |Updated Aug10 on: March 15, 2018, 10:23:49 AM
The price of NEO has recently fallen so much that it is no longer so strong. Is it true that the bear market is coming? I'm absolutely sure that NEO should be a vane to judge the bear.

Are you kidding, we are already in a bear market! Neo has already fallen from $190 to $66. It has bounced from $66 twice; on Feb 6th and today, so maybe that is the floor.
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ARDR] Ardor, or Nxt 2.0, a Scalable Child Chain Platform on: March 15, 2018, 10:14:13 AM
Just to be clear, the "Blockchain as a Service" thing is the child chains you previously talked about in NXT 2.0 right?
Blockchain has been claimed to be a tremendous and significant invention of the internet, but nowadays it is not all because there are an advance and newer software to replace Blockchain with higher security. As many have predicted, Blockchain will be replaced in the future.

Ok, I'll bite, what is this newer software?
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: March 14, 2018, 10:58:37 AM
Gonna pledge my vote on liskascend, 3,583,605 Lisk Pledged, 21,521,636 Lisk Still Required. Also like the Lisk.support Estimation Challenge and a chance to win ~ 100 USD in LSK.

Agreed, they seem like a transparent fair delegate, I pledged as well.

Thanks. Thank goodness I got nothing but dust on it.

Saw the warning, quickly made some trades and got everything but some crumbs off of there. It was never my main exchange but it has the token AGI that few other exchanges have.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: March 13, 2018, 07:21:38 PM
Would you really say
2) SEC statements
is FUD and has no influence?

Yes, because they may define a dividend paying token like a Lisk, a security, thus it may need to be pulled from many exchanges. Most likely they will give exchanges a grandfather period to adapt and upgrade to allow securities.

IF they do that then we are all screwed on many coins in that AIRDROPPED FORKS like Bitcoin Cash BCH or Litecoin Cash LCC or any other forked coin would be a real mess...

at last count there are more than 20 BTC forks that payout...this would be ugly and a quick way to destroy crypto in the USA....as an example of above, I'd owe more than

$40,000 counting LISK in this from when the various forked coins worth hit the world (as an example BCH hit the world at $280 each) and of course the LISK staking and other

staking coins.

Everyone would have to sell main parts of main coin hoard of many crypto flavors....driving the price into the dirt for all coins, to catch up on if this stuff was suddenly taxable.

IRS guidelines in the USA as an example dumped on the world 10 days before April 15th, 2014, deadline and went back to 2009....pay asap, please Sad

anyway, if LISK staking is a problem to the SEC then forks of $$$ falling out of the sky on to my many blockchains is also a problem ...indeed much bigger...

anyway, hopefully, I'm wrong...but that would toss quite the wrench into our plans for crypto..this worse case idea.(Hopefully my fantasy)

Yea, worse case, but one more thing to worry about. Hopefully the US gov will be happy with the tax revenue from crypto and be cooperative with regulation (which is what I expect).

From what I can tell.....murky as my view is....1/2 the tax folk in USA think LISK type STAKING is INCOME.the other threads I've read etc say NO...I did count lisk as income, as such in 2017 for taxes...my CPA said it was NOT..so I took it out

so toss a coin, remember nothing is clear tax wise in USA...the 2013 Tax Guidelines are pretty much it....and they are, as my CPA say, guidelines..not hard and fast solid rules yet.

As to the forked coins to my chain, that I had nothing to do with about $$$ on paper falling from the sky on to my blockchain address...er...my CPA says that LIKELY the IRS

will treat that as just ..I think she said like a 'stock split' and or growth ..so IF I don't spend any of it I"m golden

Everyone in USA is confused on how to follow tax law on crypto...it is very murky..this is why I spent $2k to the CPA last year, $775 for the taxes done..the other was guestions

on what to do with crypto and stuff like above....Main reason I paid the CPA this amount of $$$, was I damn well want to explain to SOMEONE, like a CPA what I'm doing and have

them think it is reasonable and also sign off on my income tax forms....(it is so lonely otherwise) ....so at least I can show my INTENT is good..even if they say someday I owe something...

or some such...it is quite the cluster

Sorry, I strong disagree with your CPA. I did a lot of research and are sure DPOS is income. I entered it as other income. The IRS is going to want to know your cost basis and origin when you sell, what are you going to put down?
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: March 13, 2018, 06:44:27 PM
the world is a bigger than the USA.

Of course it is, but one countries FUD can have a big impact on valuations. Remember the China FUD.

294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEX on: March 13, 2018, 05:46:39 PM
I registered for the lotto drawing this afternoon. It's going to be interesting on how the lotto system works out.

It is available to US citizens, but there are asterisks. It is basically available until it is not. If a branch of the government like the SEC states that US citizens are not eligible, then everyone from the US will be removed from the lotto drawing. (Which is March 31st @ 18:00 UTC)

I almost get the feeling they know the Gov. will not allow US citizens to participate. But this is a golden opportunity for them to get your Neo address, email, and get you to install their chrome extension.

sorry to ask again but I cant find the answer

Im still stuck on block 20000190 but I see on neo tracker that blocks are way passed that. Does this have something to do with my gui wallet and do I need to sync again ? Or does this still have something to do with the consensus nodes that where (broken?)

Been trying to sync my gui to send funds for more then 10 days now, this is already the second time I had to sync and I still cant send any funds   Sad

Yes, it has to do with the gui wallet. Someone has a fix here: https://github.com/neo-project/neo-gui/issues/212
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RADS] Radium - Bringing Advanced Utility to the Blockchain on: March 13, 2018, 05:29:30 PM
Tax law concerns? It is funny. RADS is not a money. They are tradeable token and nothing guaranties they preserve market value. It may even dropped to zero. Just pay tax from conversion to fiat on common basement.

In the US all RADS rewards are considered income (for the typical holder anyway), and any sales capital gains/losses. This is the way I reported it on my tax returns.
yes, that is the correct way to do it, from what I understand for US tax laws. The current tax situation is terrible, and needs to be clarified fast.

Actually it is treated similar to stock paying dividends. I seriously doubt the laws will change anytime soon unless we start electing crypto friendly people to government.

299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: March 13, 2018, 10:35:28 AM
hi, does anyone know the maximum supply of this coin

Max supply is unlimited...however coins will get burned through transactions/usage

Just need to get to the point where there actually are transactions and usage for the siacoins to get burned! Not sure when this will actually be achieved, and with all the asics on the way.... you'd hope burning starts sooner rather than later.

Why? The # of coins mined will be the same, just the difficulty is increasing. Since it costs more to mine the coin it should be more valuable.
300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: March 13, 2018, 10:34:18 AM
i do not understand why there are few exchanges that exchange SIA
it is a good coin, with very high market cap, good community, good dev team. i am not saying that SIA is the one, but till now it progress very nice and smooth
sure it has its ups and downs but in total its a good coin with high market cap

so somebody answer me, why we do not see SIA in Binance or other big exchanges ?

Binance requires a large listing fee.
