2601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY THE BLAME ON BOUNTY HUNTERS FOR SHITCOINS? on: March 11, 2020, 06:32:28 PM
Hunters aren't responsible for dumping. Their share of the pie is very small so that 5% of the supply they get is not going to decide whether the coin succeeds or not. Usually at least the same amount that is given to hunters is airdropped. What about those guys who claim airdrops and dump? They are also not to blame because if the coin was promising most of them owould hold.

Blaming the community for lack of success is like blaming the clients for not eating at your restaurant. Maybe the food is just bad?
2602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Uptrennd? on: March 11, 2020, 06:23:05 PM
Upvoting with tokens is a great idea and other platforms should add this option. Imagine if you were getting some free tokens for using the site and getting upvoted and then you could show your appreciation to other content creators by upvoting them.

It's a bit like twitch donations but much easier faster and cheaper. Also it's more anonymous thanks to cryptocurrency.
2603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We are only rich on spreadsheets on: March 11, 2020, 06:12:38 PM
Honestly bounty hunters are very wealthy in the spreadsheet, suppose I can get 20% of the supposed ICO price of the bounties I have participated on, I will be millionaire.

It's the same with staking rewards. Last year the projections for most altcoins were at least 2% a year if you stake them, some even 100%. Now most of them are down by at least 10% on projected profit and also down on the value.

The only way you can make money on altcoins is if you catch a pump and sell.
2604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Reason behind recent drops in crypto haven on: March 09, 2020, 10:53:04 PM
Well, I really don't think this is the case to be honest.

24 hour trading volume is currently listed as $173 billion.

Let's assume that 90% of this is wash trading, that leaves us with 17.3% billion worth of cryptocurrencies changing hands each day.

Now, let's make another assumption and assume that 50% of this involves bitcoin trade pairs, that's around $8.5 billion worth of BTC changing hands each day.

Thus, even if they did dump 10,000 BTC at once (which only a complete moron trying to draw attention to themselves would do), this would only be around $78,500,000 dumped on the market—or 1% of the daily trade volume.

Overall, it's clear that this was caused by far more than just a simple dump.

That was also my first thought. They were dumping this token since Spring 2019 and there was around 13 thousand Bitcoins to be dumped.

The article and the chart in it show that they were dumping in waves all throughout 2019 which means 13 thousand had to be divided. How many partw were there? 3? 4? So 4000 at a time?

Big exchanges have over 1000 BTC volume per hour so they are used to handling this. 4000 BTC would be a big red candle but it wouldn't be able to keep the price low for long.
2605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DAMMIT, I missed another profit opportunity!!! on: March 09, 2020, 10:43:21 PM
I bought more Litecoin at $61 a few weeks ago, then watched its price rise to the low 80s.

Then everyone started shitting themselves over this Corona Virus bullshit, so the price retreated to $60 again.  If I'd been able to predict the future I'd have sold at $80 and bought back in at $60, but I didn't.

So I lost some profits.  Farq.

And if we could predict the furture we'd all buy Bitcoin in 2016 then sell in 2017 then buy again in January 2019 and sell in Summer then again buy in Winter 2019 and sell again in February 2020. Cheesy

I don't think that the price went down because of corona. This virus literally kills the same number of people as normal flu every year. What's so special about it? Nobody counts normal flu victims every day to keep people up to date.
2606  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-03-04] Supreme Court terms Crypto Ban by Central bank unconstitutional on: March 08, 2020, 11:00:04 PM
With banks trying to fight the rulling the future of cryptocurrencies in India isn't written in stone. They can still reverse it and keep it banned. We all know how persuasive rich people can be. If they manage to buy some judges it's going to be easy.
2607  Economy / Economics / Re: South Korea quarantines and burn their cash due to Coronavirus on: March 08, 2020, 10:48:57 PM
Another stupid idea that only increases the panic and wastes money.

If cash is supposed to contract viruses then sick people should burn all their clothes, their cars and other things they touched. Why nobody is recommending burning tissues and masks after use but they want to burn cash?
2608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Bitcoin and Altcoins bullish together on: March 08, 2020, 10:31:57 PM
Ethereum is bullish since 36hours ago, im surprised even when Bitcoin keeps drowning in the sea Eth is forming some bullish attempt, it's crazy, I think altcoin can do amazing job like the big brother

That's because BTC isn't really falling but traders are taking profit. You can sometimes recognize these moves. Some happen because there's an end of the bull market or some grim news and in such scenarios you can expect a long bear trend to start but sometimes there's no reason for these drops and even some coins drop and other don't like the market cannot decide if it's in fear or not.

BTC will soon go up. There's really no reason for it to go down and the rtest of altcoins will follow.
2609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is fake shit on: March 08, 2020, 10:25:33 PM
If you hate rdading so much then don't trade? If you think exchanges are fleecing you don't use them. You can always buy on localbitcoins or at a brokerage.

These bitter posts always appear when markets take a dive.
2610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Here we go again on: March 08, 2020, 08:55:48 PM
It's really great news. Thats good news that bitcoin is legal in India. And i think this news bring positive effect on bitcoin.
The fact that India lifted the ban on the use of cryptocurrencies does not mean that it has become legal. it just means that people will not go to jail for using cryptocurrencies. Legalization of cryptocurrencies occurred only in South Korea

You don't know what the ban was all about. It was like the Chinese ban that forbid financial institutions to work with cryptocurrencies and people to register crypto companies.

You would not go to jail for owning cryptocurrencies or selling some to someone for cash. You would be unable to register a company or get a credit if you had something to do with cryptocurrencies.

You also don't know how many countries legalized crypto. I can tell you that it's more than just South Korea.
2611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies as a Legal Tender on: March 08, 2020, 08:39:31 PM
There is no logic to prohibit anything. You decide what coin you will accept for whatever you are selling. You will accept the one that is totally decentralised and premissionless. Oh and the one that no one can spy what you will buy with it.

I agree. If both the lender and the borrower agree to transact in a shitcoin it should also be legal. The government should not come between them.

People should always have the freedom of choice and the consecquences should stay with them. When you can take a loan in Bitcoin or some scam BSV coin and you choose the scam it's your fault and your responsibility. By legalizing it the government is allowing you to do it which is good.
2612  Economy / Economics / Re: Can corona virus or any other epidemic disease can collapse Banking? on: March 08, 2020, 07:16:50 PM
Coronavirus won't do it because of its low mortality rate. If it was something like ebola that is almost like a death sentence the banking would be paralyzed for sure. All sectors would!

Coronavirus will be contained because early spring in Europe and Asia is the time when people get all the throat and lung infections. It will be much easier to stop when temperatures rise.
There's no need to panic because if you're young and healthy you have less than 1% chance of dying from it. This is less than the probability of you getting cancer.

2613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin declined 3% as the coronavirus spread in italy on: March 08, 2020, 06:53:03 PM
The Coronavirus disease has affected a lot of economic activities across the globe but I don't think it is the cause of the recent decline in the price of bitcoin. Obviously for most people or traders who deal in bitcoin, it is largely online basis so I don't see how Coronavirus comes into the picture here.

It's the cause of the stock market crash and could indirectly contribute to the decline in the price of Bitcoin.

I don't know if it did but we cannot be sure. The corona panic is the most important theme in the media these days. If a stupid tweet by Jamie Dimon and China FUD could influence the price why not this?
2614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not an article about Bitcoin: "I accidentally sent £1,000 to the wrong account" on: March 08, 2020, 06:35:38 PM
I had that once and the bank cancelled the payment. I made a mistake in the IBAN but put the right name and address, which did not match the credentials on the IBAN.

It's unfortunate that the bank cannot sent the money back and charge the account that spent it. Many banks do it because just 1 wrong number makes the money go to a completely different person. Banks were supposed to be better than crypto due to reversability of transactions.
2615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What p2p games will you play? on: March 07, 2020, 11:25:14 PM
Out of the typical games you can play against another person it would probably be poker. There aren't many casino games where you can play against someone. Most of them like blackjack, dice, roulette are played against the house.

If casinos want to increase the popularity of P2P they have to come up with such games. You can play a lot of different easy games against other players like chess, checkers, even battleships.
2616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever lost access to your Bitcoins? on: March 07, 2020, 11:17:37 PM
I did not but I felt like I did so I know the feeling.

I had a cold wallet once that I knew the password to but did not open it for anything for over 2 years and when I wanted to check if everything is ok with it I struggled to enter the right password. I knew the words it consisted of but forgot which one was first and if there were any numbers in between and in the end. It took me maybe an hour of trying different combinations and nervously sweating to find the right one.
2617  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin ready for world wide 1 currency? on: March 07, 2020, 09:10:30 PM
Not without the whole infrastructure built around it. A billion people won't be able to transact in Bitcoin at the same time without the use of solutions like the lightning network and this is the background that needs to be set up. More nodes, more adoption, more laws.

It is ready because it could be used if countries wanted to adopt it and turn it into a state currency but I don't think they will.
2618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: YOU JUST CAN'T SKIP KNOWLEDGE IN THIS INDUSTRY on: March 07, 2020, 08:12:53 PM
It's the same in everything you do. If you lack electrical knowledge and start repairing electronics you will mess up the hardware and maybe even endanger your own life. If you have no experience in construction and start building houses you'll probably won't do well.

People think they can invest with 0 knowledge and profit because some teenagers became millionaires. Cheesy
2619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's End Game on: March 07, 2020, 06:45:01 PM
If your biggest concern is bitcoin disappearing because governments that launch their own currencies will ban it you can stop worrying and do something productive instead.

Not all countries are planning to launch their own cryptos. Even if 20% of the countries in the world do it not all will ban Bitcoin. Many will give people freedom of choice. Germany has already stated that Bitcoin is officially recognized as an investment.

People will migrate to countries where freedom is something more than just a word
2620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need of the hour on: March 07, 2020, 06:35:58 PM
I agree that we don't need new altcoins.

The market is saturated and people have tried many things like different ways of mining, cheap transactions, fast transactions, centralized coins, decentralized coins, coins with high supply, low supply, unlimited supply, expensive coins, cheap coins, anonymous coins.

We don't need experiments but community that will stand behind these coins and use them. Now there are hundreds of coins with 0 adoption and we could use just 1 or 2 that are really used.
