1841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you lost money on Bitcoin you either bought in the red or you didn't hodl on: August 25, 2020, 04:33:08 PM
Losing money on bitcoins occurs when you sell them. But when you keep holding it you still have your money. when the price of bitcoin drops is when you have to buy it again, a good bitcoin investment is done using a long-term method, because the price is very volatile, it will continue to move. To reach the new ATH bitcoin will take a long time. this will train your patience.

Not really. If something is valued in a certain way it doesn't mean it will be valued higher later.

You bought coins for 10 thousand and now the price is 1 thousand. You can't say that you haven't lost money on this investment because in the present you have less than you used to have. It doesn't mean you will not get even next month but as long as you are on the loss you are on the loss. There's no denying it.

Would you still be saying that you havben't lost anything if Bitcoin went to 100 dollars and stayed there for another 5 years?

Apologies, this should do it

Ahh, this. I thought you bought the previous high and then did not exit when it peaked the second time.

It looks like your TA has failed.

What you've indicated as a triangle breakout was really a lower high. Even if it became a double top it still would be a bearish formation.
Triangles and harmonics fail as many times as they prove to be correct, especially with altcoins.
1843  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is it when the year will be over there are always talk about the price on: August 23, 2020, 09:33:38 PM
You can see the mood change on the forums every time there's a significant move in price.

In a bear market people are giving up, leaving, taking on other hobbies and turning to other investments. In a bull market they go crazy speculating and dreaming about getting rich when the price reaches some crazy numbers. It's always the same.

When we approach the previous ATH people get excited because there's a chance to make a lot of money if we break that level. In the history of Bitcoin it has never broke the ATH and went back into the bear market. It always kept going.
1844  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What went wrong here? on: August 23, 2020, 09:10:42 PM
The chart doesn't work Sad

If you bought ALGO within the last 24 hours the worst you could have done is buy it for 0.59 USD and just 2 hours ago it was at 0.59 again so worst case scenario you should've been able to exit without a loss.
1845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What sports do you think that can resume amid Covid-19 scare. on: August 23, 2020, 08:55:04 PM
In general sports where players have no physical contact with each other can be played during the pandemics.

There's really a lot of them like all bicycle sports, horse races, f1 races, all marksmanship sports, tennis, ski jumps, skating...

Participants can be easily screened for covid as long as the stadiums are closed down there's really not much danger even in close combat sports like boxing.
1846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New User - Problems Understanding Bitcoins Validity on: August 23, 2020, 08:43:24 PM
What the hell is "Simplex"?Is it a payment processor? How can a bank assume that Simplex=Bitcoin?
Can you tell us the names of the crypto gambling website and the bank you were using?
30% "mining" or transaction fee is a ridiculous percentage.Perhaps you got scammed.
It's perfectly fine to have difficulties as a crypto newbie. There's always a learning curve involved
(sometimes it can be costly,if you don't do your research before trying to buy cryptocurrencies).

We don't know the whole story. Maybe this simplex doesn't do KYC and it's a requirement with your bank so the bank blocks all Simplex transfers. They can't know what Simplex did with the money but they can assume simplex is a scam.

I had my bank send me a warning when I received money from a bitcoin exchange. They explained that they do not deal with crypto exchanges due to money laundering problems and ask me not to receive money from them or they will be sent back. They accepted that first transfer and did not block my account. I guess OP's bank is very strict.
1847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Always look at the coins MAX supply on: August 23, 2020, 08:34:10 PM
You are making sense but heavy supply with a sound staking plan means good, I understand most persons think HEX is a scam, because of this assumption, I boycott the bounty which would have been my best rewarding bounty of all time. Although it has 250B maximum supply, it still came up good in the market, many projects are taking from their lead.

Most people think HEX is a scam because it's a scam made by a shady individual that is a guy who changed his name to Richard Heart for the purpose of establishing presence on youtube. Does he look like a trustworthy person to you? Does HEX have a real world use? For me the answer to both questions is no.

Don't ever think that a scam coin can't have a pump and a pumping coin can't be a scam. You are being naive.
1848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm dumping my coins because.. on: August 23, 2020, 08:25:12 PM
I usually don't hold altcions. They are for mee a means to an end which is getting more BItcoin.

When I get altcoins from an airdrop, a campaign, a raffle, whatever else, I usually assess their potential and either sell now or wait a few weeks and then exchange them into Bitcoin. This is the only coin that I'm willing to hold for a long time.
1849  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top 5 reasons I see $100k in next 2 years on: August 23, 2020, 08:07:09 PM
Reaching $100,000 in just two years is definitely a big exaggeration,

This is something people were talking about every major level. 2 years before reaching 1000 dollars the price was at $20 and 2 years before going to 20 thousand we were at $300.

look at the current price, which since the end of 2017 is still below $12,000, but at the end of 2017 there were many people who used arguments similar to your arguments to say that the price would reach $30,000  in 2018, then last year I also saw something similar and the price did not reach more than $15,000 last year.

So now is a forecast of $100,000 for 2 years from now? the price of bitcoin can't even reach more than $ 20,000 since 2 years and are you dreaming of $100,000?I s a great exaggeration

It couldn't reach 20 because it was in a bear market. Between 2014 and 2016 the price still was wtruggling to surpass 1000 because of the 2 year long bear market.
When we break 20 thousand we will most likely go to 50 within the same year.
1850  Economy / Economics / Re: The number of jobless people has crossed one million in US - worrying sign? on: August 23, 2020, 04:00:15 PM
It's not something we were not able to predict. People these days are unable to do simple jobs, unable to live on their own, do some farming, build their own home. They depend on other people offering them jobs and when they get fired they don't know how to proceed.

100 years ago people would find something to do, something to fill their time with. Now all we do is complain about not being able to find a job in some fancy corporation.
1851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you lost money on Bitcoin you either bought in the red or you didn't hodl on: August 23, 2020, 03:54:51 PM
Bitcoin is such an easy investment, pretty much like Apple, Amazon and Microsoft. If you had balls to buy and hold it for at least 2 years you made money at any given point in time.

I don't get why so many people hate on Bitcoin. You tried to play the game and the game played you. Is there even anything to complain about besides the part when you prove that you're one of the maybe 5% of Bitcoin's investors who lost money? It's like saying you failed primary school Wink
1852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to call the people into crypto on: August 23, 2020, 03:32:29 PM
Do you think now is the right time to call the people into crypto world?

What do you mean by calling people? Should we start telling our friends and families to invest? I wouldn't want to take responsibility for their losses.

While I see all the benefits there's still a chance this will fail or the investors lose money dou to their stupitidy or carelessness. Crypto is not easy nor safe for people who aren't tech savvy.
1853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never invest in any cryptocurrencies! on: August 23, 2020, 03:16:02 PM
I'm very happy with my investment after buying every single year since 2016.

If someone were to ask me if they should invest I'd say yes. Those who don't play don't win and chances of you winning with cryptocurrencies are by far greater than in gambling or investing in startups.
1854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still sleeping? on: August 23, 2020, 02:42:25 PM
Why is everyone talking about "investing"? This is speculative trading... And everyone knows this will be a pump & dump like in 2018. In other words: in the coming months, someone that puts money in crypto has to daily or hourly check news which for some people is a lot of effort....

Because many of us are here for the long run. I haven't sold almost anything in 2018 and still hold coins bought in 2017. I've even managed to increase my portfolio in the bear market of 2018 and 2019.

Scared cats call it speculative trading but for strong hand holders it's still investing.
1855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much you earn in bounty hunting for the year 2019-2020 on: August 23, 2020, 02:29:58 PM
Some campaigns are no longer worth the effort, I even joined last year from a reputable Bounty manager still ending up with zero payment. I was not really expecting that much from past campaign since the ICO hype died, but I had one project that I joined from 2018 paid just this year and it was a good amount, worth waiting for.

Most are not.

Even if you find one run by a reputable manager all you can be sure of is that you will get paid but not if the token will have any value or even be listed on an exchange. When it gets listed it can have low volume or be abandoned soon or have a very low value.

There's so many things that can go wrong that it's not worth the risk. New coin bounties are only for desperate people.
1856  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting scared is useful! on: August 23, 2020, 02:20:35 PM
Fear can be good and bad at the same time.

Fear keeps your feet on the ground and stops you from being overcondfident but at the same time it can turn into panic and turn off your thinking.

I guess it depends on how you react to a little bit of fear. Like when you approach the edge and are about to fall a litle bit of fear will keep you from killing yourself but too much will paralyze you and make you stuck there unable to move back.
1857  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Having loss is part of experience as a Trader on: August 23, 2020, 02:09:18 PM
Most traders catch themselves making this one little mistake. They think that any loss is unacceptable so they don't sell at a small loss and wait hoping the market will reverse and they're at least able to break even. In the end they need money and after months of waiting take a big loss.

You either are a trader and exit fast or you're ready to go all the way and don't worry whatever the market becomes.
1858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain solution for Pension system of Primary school teachers of Bangladesh on: August 23, 2020, 02:04:18 PM
There is evidence of blockchain technology being explored by the various institutions without considering the token or any utility. Just a few weeks ago, One of the foremost bank here in my country hosted a webinar on blockchain and artificial intelligence. they discussed extensively on these two areas without mentioning the token aspect. If the blockchain technology will be more transparent to the pension system of the teachers in Bangladesh, fine but what makes you think they will consider the blockchain token as part of the utility?

They like to add some information about blockchain to make the title look catchy and their presentations more sophisticated. Government speakers all over the world are doing it even when there's no chance of this technology being used by their country. Reminds me of those years of FUD when Russian government was supposed to do this or that with blockchain.

Bangladesh is such a poor country that it's safe to assume most of the world will use blockchain before them. I'd rather focus on what the Indian government does.
1859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe in crypto ratings? on: August 22, 2020, 10:34:33 PM
I never watch ratings and statistics. They aren't very important in my opinion.

What matters is your own research and what the coin has to offer. Like if you compare the market cap of XRP to ETH they are very close to each other but XRP is a worthless centralized shitcoin made only to make its creators richer.

Numbers will be numbers Wink
1860  Economy / Economics / Re: Bangladesh Government Comparing Gaming with Gambling and Cryptocurrency on: August 22, 2020, 10:06:54 PM
Games are created with the intention of making people get addicted to it then only they can make money out of it and most of the modern day games are making profits from in app purchases which maybe against in some country that is why they banned gaming along with gambling.Pick the leader who is enough to understand what it is really meant for if you want to enjoy it.

It should be the choice of the user if he wants to get addicted to a game or not. Subscription-based games like WoW or Eve can be addictive but they can also be the source of entertainment and even allow people to meet new friends and build relations.

You can never stop people from becoming addicts. If they won't fall victim to computer games, casinos, oinline trading, they will become alcoholics or something else. This is pointless.
