1601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM installed at Elon Musk’s Tesla Gigafactory on: October 11, 2020, 03:14:23 PM
I think that the company who owns the ATM chose this spot as it's full of tech-savvy people, engineers, people open to innovation. It's one of the most innovative companies out there!

Elon did not put it there, but knowing his attitude towards crypto he would not oppose. Is it a significant breakthrough though? I doubt it. ATMs were and still are available in every big city.
1602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Finally!! McAfee is arrested in Spain and now facing extradition on: October 11, 2020, 02:48:18 PM
Extracted this from page 10 para 35 that dude made crazy returns just from his tweets about the ICO lol.

Phew. That is a lot of money for writing random crap with typos and bad grammar. Wonder if he managed to cash in all that or if he also got caught out by dumping. I remember trying to install his stupid app that supposedly pays money for quizzes. A waste of 10 mins of my life as he even managed to scam that one.

He's always drunk or on drugs so don't expect proper grammar from him. He can't even stop sniffing and wiping his nose during interviews. Grin

He sold the last of his dignity when he offered to pump shitcoins for money and shittalked BTC because he did not want to admit he was wrong with his price prediction.

I'm happy he got caught.
1603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It is not easy to make money in cryptocurrency on: October 11, 2020, 02:38:01 PM
Now it may really be much harder with all the projects down from their ATH prices, but isn't the bear market the time to accumulate and prepare for future pumps?

As a matter of fact it used to be very easy to make money in cryptocurrencies. Probably the easiest thing ever was to buy Bitcoin and then claim every single fork and sell it right away. BCH, BTG, BSV... If you also claimed BTC -based airdrops like stellar or MWC you were able to make even more money.

It did not require any additional investment just watching new projects and claiming them.
1604  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: October 10, 2020, 09:44:16 PM
Buying a secure paper that will be used as a banknote is necessary for every country though the question is what is the purpose of this banknote is it really necessary at this time. We may immediately perceive that it can be used for corruption but if we will take a closer look at the purpose of creating a fiat we could consider that there is a possibility that it serves as a replacement of the old ragged fiat.

For corruption? How?
Also, how is that going to improve security? Nobody is going to make fake bills that aren't even worth a dollar when they can make foreign currencies and make 100x more money.

Another reason is for creating a higher denomination is that it could be handier and can be easily kept by an individual including using higher denomination in making transactions using cash it can be easier instead of paying with multiple paper bills. Though isn't the best resolution for hyperinflation for there are still online transactions that don't require paper bills like credit card or debit card but despite this modernization, if cryptocurrency will be adopted globally then there will be no issues on creating banknotes for it doesn't require affiliation on any bank system nor government.

Anyway, this How the political situation escalated in the Venezuela crisis. See how their politician leaders managed their country.

It's handier but what they're doing is not to make storage more convenient. Nobody is going to hold a hyperinflated currency and it doesn't matter if the bills are old or new.
Bolivars are going to be a dead currency soon.
1605  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin is rising suddenly ? on: October 10, 2020, 09:29:59 PM
I think the recent rise in bitcoin is due to the news that China's central bank has released a test of 10 million virtual coins. This is pretty good news for the crypto market so the bitcoin price soaring is understandable, perhaps bitcoin will reach the price of $ 12,000 by the end of the year.

If cryptocurrencies are still banned in China and they are releasing their own centralized coins it will not help existing coins in any way. If I'm missing something then please enlighten me.

I don't know about any new laws in China that might bring back crypto trading.

It's pretty much all about the recent square purchase and the technicals that were pointing towards a breakout for more than a week. Square news just made sure the breakout was bullish Wink
1606  Economy / Speculation / Re: history loves repeating itself. the only question is when! on: October 10, 2020, 09:16:07 PM
The sooner you all stop being so bearish, the better. Traditional financial investments & fiat currencies are in the dirt, there is only one truly decentralized asset with an infinitely capped supply & that’s BTC.

We’re going to a new ATH & far beyond it next year.

I hope your bags are full because it’s going to be beautiful.

 Cool

I think that most holders are just tired. They may sound bearish but they're not. If they were bearish they'd sell it long ago.

I'm still holding my coins although 3 years of the price trying to go break above 50% of ATH is getting quite boring if you're not trading anymore.

If you are a trader the last 2 years were a golden opportunity. You just had to follow one simple rule: it goes above 10 thousand - you sell. It goes below 8 - you buy.
The last few months look like the band is tightening and we're going into 10-11 thousand range which suggest an incoming breakout so maybe you're right about that big move next year.
1607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: btc future on: October 10, 2020, 09:01:20 PM
some countries may ban BTC but there are also some countries that accept BTC as a means of payment. In the past, there were several countries that banned cryptocurrencies, but until now BTC is still valuable, this means that BTC cannot be destroyed. I am sure that in the future BTC can be accepted by all countries as a medium of exchange and means of payment.

BTC relies on the free market and that principle can and will never be undermined.

If someone thinks it can happen, point them to the prohibition era. The time when the US government tried to stop people from drinking alcohol but since so many people wanted to do it it was impossible to stop them.

We just have to hope that people will like to use BTC and stand behind it. As long as they do it will be impossible to stop but when it becomes abandoned by its users the government won't have to do anything. BTC will die on its own.
1608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Dash undervalued? on: October 10, 2020, 08:49:53 PM
Agree, Dash is still undervalued but there are more reasons to look from different perspectives. Maybe the years when it was best to buy staking coins have lost the meaning for the crypto community and investors are not interested to invest in Dash.

Is there even an altcoin bull run yet? Most coins are still more than 60% down when compared with 2017.
Depending on the ATH price for each altcoin, almost 95% of altcoins have lost value in the bear trend. The correlation will show us it worth investing in the new projects which have more potential to make the second wave to ATH.

I'd say that 100% of altcoins lost value in the 2018-19 bear market.
The question was are they in a bull market again.

I think that they are not because almost none of them have recoveded more than 50% of their bear market losses. If you look at their all time charts they look like they're still in their lows.
1609  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't reply to private messages from unknown people! on: October 10, 2020, 08:30:09 PM
I don't agree. If somebody has a problem, he can create a thread to ask for help publicly. Why PM? Is it classified information? Don't think so.

I am yet to get a meaningful PM from a newbie. It is either a shill, or somebody asking for merits or a scammer.

They can have a problem with something you said in a closed thread. They may have something to say about your behavior. They may want to ask you  about an auction, a job offer you've posted, a campaign you were in.

You'd like everyone to start threads about every single matter?

A PM is not some kind of invasion of privacy.
1610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fact sheet for bitcoin price (daily low, high, close price over years) on: October 10, 2020, 06:16:36 PM
The question arises, is there a fall now? Or is it still slow growth?

I'd call that a stabilization.

Both the lowest and the highest yearly values are coming closer with each year which means that Bitcoin is looking for a stable line or at least a channel to say in.
The recent 9-12 thousand channel that we've been in for over 5 months is confirming this.
1611  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't reply to private messages from unknown people! on: October 10, 2020, 06:06:43 PM
Read the private message if its suspicious then delete dont ever bother to reply to it. Because once you replied on thier email you might be thier next victim.

OP is going too far with this. With such attitude we might as well stay home all our lives and never talk to strangers because they might hurt or scam us.

Read the PMs you're getting and if someone is asking for help or wants to offer you a deal think about it and decide what you want to do. Don't just ignore every single message because although many will be scam attempts some will be normal offers or questions.

We are here to interact with others not to teach them ignorance.
1612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN basher, the Liar 'John McAfee' is finally Arrested on: October 10, 2020, 03:09:21 PM
There’s a legal way not to pay any taxes, John McAfee don’t know how to use these laws in favor to him and not he’s facing a biggest fight of his life or else he’ll be in jail. Tax evasion is not good because its your obligation to pay correct taxes so if you get caught, you have to face the consequences of being greedy.

Because John has this attitude of a stubborn mule. He thinks he can do whatever he wants and if somebody doesn't like him then fuck him.

He reminds me of all those sovereign citizens who live in the US and think they don't have to obey any laws. The truth is that they and John obey only the laws they like and ignore the ones they don't like.

It's going to be hard for John to survive without alcohol and coke. Jail can be a wake up call for an addict.
1613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to move on if you've failed to meet the due date of a bounty campaign on: October 10, 2020, 02:49:47 PM
Bounty campaigns are made so that they're hard to finish and if you break a single rule out of a dozen you will not get paid.

This is done so that out of a hundred accounts 50% will do some of the work but get paid nothing which makes them free workforce for the team.

If you can't do it 100% you better not do it at all because you'll end up like a slave who works for nothing.
Exactly this, some of those bounty managers know that they could be more flexible if they really wanted it but they prefer not to do so because that means they can get away with not paying a significant deal of their participants and they can do it without breaking their own rules and as such no one really has any room for complaining since the bounty hunters were the ones that did not read the rules or failed to fulfil all the necessary requirements in order to become eligible for the reward.

They don't follow the rules, that's true, but it happens more and more often that teams pay with tokens that never get listed and campaign managers change the rules during the course of the campaign. They sometimes even add KYC requirements to limit the number of people elligible for payment.

It won't end until people start valuing their time and demanding funds to be escrowed and distributed by someone trusted by the community.

Imagine that a moderator decided to delete the post you've quoted and did not delete any of the posts that responded to and quoted me. Double standards?
1614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling sites accepting bets from countries where gambling is illegal. on: October 10, 2020, 02:31:13 PM
The reason for this is not only the illegality of gambling in certain countries but also that some countries require you to obey their tax and KYC laws even if you don't register there.
Like if you provide services to US citizens you are obliged to follow US laws. Many companies don't want to deal with that and simply restrict US ips.

I know that many EU registered companies don't allow customers from countries like Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, because they don't follow the same monetary and KYC policies.
1615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Now Bounty Program totally worth less !! 90% Bounties are scam on: October 10, 2020, 02:23:28 PM
Bounty is dead after all this ICO hype become outdated. Its better to find other job to do in 2020

It's been like that for years, literally and you can't blame only dev teams or bounty managers. They saw an opportunity to make more money by changing the rules during or at the end of a campaign and despite protests still were getting new people in their next campaigns because there's just so many thirsty hunters out there. You can keep scamming and they'll still keep comming.

The only way you can change it is to be more selective and never join suspicious campaigns or those run by compromised teams.
1616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Say btc is Not ponzi but its look like ponzi on: October 09, 2020, 10:14:14 PM
Ponzi is Old investors getting payed from new investors

No. How did you come to this conclusion?

I know people who were early investors and sold in a big bear market for less. Explain to me how does the ponzi system work in this case?

In a ponzi scheme there has to be someone who runs it. There can be no self-running ponzi schemes because it goes against the idea.
1617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Square Says It Bought $50 Million of Bitcoin on: October 09, 2020, 03:45:37 PM
Even if they did a quick trade they made a lot of money because they bought OTC and when the news came out the price went up to form something of a breakout.

Of course if they are as real about the investment as it looks they'll hold it until the price moves above 20 thousand again and grab a nice big 25 mliion in profit. Not a bad move I guess Wink
1618  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-10.01] Research Reveals Crypto Owners to Be the Riskiest Esports Bettors on: October 09, 2020, 03:24:49 PM
It's normal but esports gamblers are often young gamers who play with small amounts of money.

They buy cs keys for cheap and hope to get a rare item they can sell for more than the value of those keys. Most of those transactions are extremely low in value.

When they are to open $100 worth of crates they film it and put it on social media. Adult gamblers can spend 10 thousand USD playing dice and never tell anyone about it.

To conclude, there's a lot of people who gamble and own cryptocurrencies but the value of esports gambling is still very low.
1619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people avoid bitcoin? on: October 09, 2020, 02:53:03 PM
The most important reason for people to avoid Bitcoin even when they're told that such transaction would be much faster is the risk. They trust banks and feel like the money will go through even if it takes a week.

They don't trust Bitcoin because to get it they have to register on exchanges and these exchanges are known for losing money, getting hacked, going bankrupt and employing lazy and unprofessional support.
1620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just discover possible reason why btc is safe heaven on: October 09, 2020, 02:41:00 PM
you are wrong bitcoin is not a "safe heaven".
bitcoin is a currency that has a good chance of appreciating in value over time and increase your purchasing power if you own any amount of it. it is not supposed to go up in price and it is not supposed to be profitable and there is no guarantee.

He even said it himself:
Quote
You buy btc Now its 10k it Can fall down like to 7k

Assets that do it cannot be called a safe haven.
I have no idea what safe heaven is. Wink

Even if you think something will go back up it's only oyour believe and your speculation.

I own Bitcoins but I wouldn't recomend people to put all of their money in it and tell them it's 100% safe.
