Jesus suffered great pain and death, even though He was the Son of God. Why? Because that is what it took to turn the evil in mankind into something acceptable before God.
The evil is still here. It simply has been adapted to the righteousness of Jesus. Because of what people are, faith in Jesus salvation is the only way to not lose the adaptation at death. Are you stupid or are you purposefuly ignoring the working of the Enemy? He died for our sins because of the Enemy and his servants. And because of that alone. Am I your reference calculator? The standard distance calculation for the planets is done by radar these days. Once we know the distance to the planets, triangulation with many or any of the planets can give you the distance to the Sun.
