What cooler do you have? More than 80 degrees is already a high temperature for such a processor. I would buy a good cooler with a TDP of 170-200 watts, but the problem is that you will pay for it for a long time with such a profit on this old processor.

Will this be used for new ASICs?

There are a lot of video cards in mining, so even manufacturers are postponing the sale of new models, because the secondary market is crowded. For video cards to be in demand, a new coin is needed, and there are no such coins yet. Ethereum mining will end and the price of other coins may fall in a bear market, then mining on video cards will be boring.

Yeah it’ll be 2015 all over again. GPU mining was so boring and unprofitable that i switched to Bitcoin ASICs because there was profits there while with GPUs there wasn’t.

There were more POW coins then, much more than today. However the miner supply and the low market cap made them a waste of time to mine prettt much. Dash was probably #1 POW coin then, however the profits weren’t that great.

Same will happen now most likely.
In 2015, asics did not have a consumption of 3 kilowatts, and they could be used at home. I even remember silent models.
But modern asics consume a lot and are noisy. They are not suitable for most miners.

3kw miner is just about right for 1 20A breaker with 1 outlet..home "minimal" miner will just manage 1 equipment.
Until the neighbors complain about the noise... Smiley

LOL, yeah, fuck them..apartment(large room type) maybe..but for houses that does not share a wall or walls, i think it is good enough.

a storage room or basement will make it quiet enough for a home occupant, unless it is almost as loud as a hammer drill, drilling through cement then yeah it is noisy.
My friend in the village has ASICs in the garage. His plot of land is more than 20 acres, but neighbors hear this noise at night. Asics are very noisy. He does not want to spend money on expensive soundproofing and ventilation. Even 5 ASICs are already a problem in a private house, you yourself will be bothered by the noise.

The 6700XT has more than 6GB of memory and that's a true winner here. Future Proof First.
Then it might be better to look for a Radeon RX 6800 XT video card. It has 16 GB of memory, and if mining requires more than 8 GB of memory in the future, then this will be a good buy. This video card is also cold and there are no problems with it in mining.
No PoW coin has made it to 5GB yet like Ethereum and ETH pow is going away in September 2022, I believe that 6GB cards still have a long year ahead and 8GB cards are perfect for long term mining, 16GB is overkill, I doubt a coin will made it that far.
There was one coin that required more than 7 GB of video memory. A large amount of memory allows you to mine 2 coins in dual mode.
Perhaps AMD and Nvidia will want to increase sales of video cards and come up with a new coin that needs video cards with more than 8 GB of memory.

The fate of cloud mining companies ends tragically. I have seen it many times. 10 cents per kilowatt is very expensive. My electricity price is less than 5 cents and I will buy an asic myself if I want to mine another coin.
2646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: this is a bear market, what's mining is better to get an income? on: July 20, 2022, 01:29:20 PM
Nvidia is probably delaying the sale of the 4090 video card because many 3090 and 3090ti video cards are not yet sold out and are in store stock. For other video cards, the price does not change, because they are in great demand among miners and gamers.

Any solution or advice would be greatly welcome :-) Thks in advance.
Show your settings in Hive OS and write the configuration of the mining farm with the power supply.
What drivers do you have installed?
Have you tried changing the miner?
What memory do video cards have? Hynix or something else?
Need more information.
2649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New Rig Results ... on: July 20, 2022, 01:06:04 PM
How does a 10 year warranty work? The fan will break after 3 years of mining and the video card is not designed for 10 years of mining. In my opinion, there are important nuances here that you need to know about in advance. I have a 10-year warranty on the Corsair power supply, but there are no problems for 4 years.
I asked the RMA department and they said the card is covered for 10 years. Many manufacturers do not supply the fans separate and don't want you to replace them yourselves.  The card has to be disassembled to replace the fan. Sure most of us can do that no problem. But if you have a warranty might as well use it. They basically send you a replacement card and once you receive it send back the damaged card with fan included. Only thing is with a RMA like this you have to leave a deposit, in some cases double the amount of the card. They did that because of scarcity of cards. Some people lied about damaged cards and once they received the replacement card just held on to it and parting with the deposit. By requesting a double deposit they are assured people won't play those tricks. So for a 3090 that means a deposit of around $4,000 for a RMA!

I would imagine as the supply chain issue is resolved this double deposit amount would go away.
In my country they also give a replacement, but we have different rules. First, you send the faulty video card to the seller and he makes an examination and informs you about the warranty repair confirmation or returns the video card back.Next, you need to apply for a replacement video card for the repair time. But the service center can give you used 1080 for example Smiley instead of RTX 3070
That does not sound like a good deal. I've heard instances where they upgraded the RMA'd card to a better model due to availability issues. But never downgrading. I would not be happy with that arrangement.

We can also choose to go with your procedure. You mail the faulty card to them, and after they have received and reviewed the card they mail out the replacement if it is a valid RMA. But I prefer to opt to leave a deposit and then have them send me the replacement card. Once received I mail back the faulty card. After they have received the faulty card and it is a valid RMA they credit back the deposit I left. I've done it a few times like that and so far it has worked great!
We have different warranty laws. Service centers do not always stock enough replacement graphics cards, so you can get an older graphics card. If there was insurance at the time of purchase, then other options are possible, but a big plus is that after 45 days the seller must return a working video card or money to me.

Hi,

Advice me if i should start crypto mining or not in 2022?
if yes then can you recommend me list of hardware i should buy?
like 6 GPU board ? or 8 GPU?
i have in my mind 3080 and 3090.

Let me know please
These are inexpensive tested motherboards.

New video cards, this is Nvidia 3060ti-3070. DO NOT take 3070ti, 3080 and 3090 series. AMD 6700-6800.
From the vulgar series, the RTX 2060 super and RTX 2070 video cards are very good.

Thank you, how about choosing the grahic card with very less noise ? which graphic card series best for noise reduction?
Very quiet video cards AMD 5600XT, 6600XT, 6700XT. They practically do not heat up when mining, but they are not good for all coins in mining. There are a lot of rumors about hunix memory problems in the 3060ti. Recommend 3070 without ti. If you buy new with a guarantee, then choose what is cheaper for you.

[Tim] Suggested time-line for discussion:

Goerli/Prater client releases 27th or 28th of July.
Announce 28th/29th.
Prater Bellatrix on the 8th of August
Goerli Merge on the 11th.
ACD 18th August plan mainnet Merge:
Bellatrix early september;
Merge two weeks later (week of Sept 19th).
Could be more aggressive in places, e.g. could have off-schedule ACD to set mainnet TTD earlier. All would be subject to Goerli Merge not blowing up!

List Of The Best Cryptocurrencies To Mine
Here is the list of popular Cryptocurrencies to mine:

ECOS
Vertcoin

Monero
ZCash
Ravencoin

Ethereum Classic
Litecoin
Ethereum
Monacoin
Bitcoin Gold
Aeternity

Simply put, this is a very obscure and sporty list. Coins are mined on ASICs and GPUs, and for many coins I wouldn't buy ASICs in a bear market. Most investment calculations will advise you to buy the coin now rather than mine. I am always for mining, but not for all coins.

From this study, it becomes clear that mining Ethereum is much more profitable than Bitcoin, although in reality this is not the case. In most countries, it turns out that bitcoin mining is not profitable, and there are still many miners there. Apparently the analytics is not very accurate.

And I have an interesting question about building mining farms in such an area? It is hot in summer, so the regulator will ask you to turn off the asics to save energy. It is cold in winter and the same situation will happen. Mining equipment must work.
