Seems like this is one of the funny places where software poker collides with in-person tradition.  As far as I know, if someone calls me into a showdown, and they show first then I have the right to muck and walk away from the showdown (maybe this is stupid cos I lose the chance to win on whatever's coming, but still, I believe it's allowed if the action is to me).  However, most poker software is going to have you flip your cards on that call no matter what the other person shows.  Am I wrong?

You have the right to demand to see at showdown (at least traditionally).  The last player to bet or raise has to show first, and can demand the loser show.  It's generally considered rude to do this excessively or sometimes at all, since it's basically an implicit accusation of collusion or cheating.

Also, in some games like jacks or better (does anyone even play that any more), you have to keep your "openers" to show you had the right to even play the hand.

Oh, thanks, I just saw this reply.  Thanks for the education!  So, in general, you're not allowed to muck on a showdown.  I didn't know this.
2662  Economy / Speculation / Re: Breakout incoming! on: March 08, 2015, 05:20:26 AM
Oooh, I had no idea that was called breakout.  I remember playing that kind of game but not the name of it.  Still doesn't connect to the lady's eagle eyebrows though.

I don't understand the cause of your bluster, ArmoredDoge.  Were you the one being sent unsolicited PMs?

Yes and also this marcotheminer guy caused alot of beef with me.

After I exposed him for being the Escrow for more then 5 other Signature Campaigns and him just laughing it off like it's cool to basicly just be an Escrow Pump and Dumper I grew tired of his bullshit and decided to show him how it feels to be ripped off when he rips off others.

In my dialect, "rip off" means steal.  Does this mean that (1) you accuse marcotheminer of stealing? and (2) you claim to have stolen from him?

Kinda shocking either way.

How exactly did I steal from him?

[snip]

I dunno, I was asking.  You said you showed him how it feels to be ripped off and in my English "X was ripped off" means "X was stolen from".
2664  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is cloud mining still profitable? on: March 08, 2015, 12:31:10 AM
From Google...

Quote
A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation where the operator, an individual or organization, pays returns to its investors from new capital paid to the operators by new investors, rather than from profit earned by the operator.

Eventually, Ponzis always collapse. Early investors may actually profit but later investors get seriously screwed.

So how can I know if a cloud mining company is actually mining or it's just a scam?

I.e. Is there a site that I can check the GH/S of a pool?

You can't. If they advertise that they use equipment from a certain provider you can ask the provider to approve the cloud miner company to see if they actually did order the miners.

Not that I'm aware of but there's this https://blockchain.info/blocks

What about this?

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Comparison_of_mining_pools

Shows the TH/s of most pools.  Is that what he's looking for?  Maybe I missed something.

I'm looking for how I can check which address generated the bitcoin, so that I can check if a site is legit, or just a ponzi.

Thanks for the kind advice guys.

So you want to check, for a given block, which computer on the network found the block?  Or you want to do this for all blocks?

There's a difference between the IP address of a computer which solved a block and the address where the block reward went.  Are you talking about mining or simply sending a transaction.  Sorry it's not clear to me from your post.
2665  Other / Meta / Re: newbie jail on: March 08, 2015, 12:26:53 AM
This is to persuade Theymos to open newbie jail.
Secondbest option, IMO, would be status-based filtering. Instead of lengthy ignore list, being able to set something like "show legendary, heroes and seniors only".

I often think the same thing, but sometimes i get smacked in the face with statements from certain newbie members that are obviously very intelligent ones,
so it seams rather harsh to judge every newbie the same way, maybe thats why the jail is removed in the first place ?

Indeed while I also sometimes am annoyed by the newbie posts that are stoopid.  I find quite often that some dev who makes some exciting new software often launches a site and then creates a newbie account here to discuss how people are using it.  My point is that many folks hanging around on the sidelines should be able to create an account and speak up whenever they please.

So, I just ran across your casino thread.  I've not tried it out yet but you say special offers for bitcointalk users.  What are those special offers?

Indeed, this is a really high-quality job.  It would be beautiful to print it out and set it up somewhere physically (an elevator shaft, a stairwell?  it's very vertical).  In any case, thanks for this great job.

It's always good to know about the tools that are available out there and what's more it's always good to have alternatives and options.  Glad to know about this alternative blockchain explorer.

This is the most fun I've had playing poker since Pokerstars. I love the lightning fast software. It blows away the old Seals in speed and feel. I love all of the new games. So many options.........and I didn't even get into OFC yet but I plan on it.  Anyway, I know the few bugs people have mentioned will get fixed. This should be a big year for SWC and I hope everyone spreads the word (so I have more people to play of course).

I'm certainly not trying to be a negative nelly and I'm definitely sore that I can't play until they come out with a non-compromised client.  Still, I just wanted to throw out there that things might be so fast because most people can't play now because of the issues with .exe

Missed the old .exe the new .exe make me confused

You should step into the future man, all .exes are gross.
2672  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Most Popular & Trusted Bitcoin Game | Huge Community | Free BTC on: March 07, 2015, 11:43:19 PM
any ideas how to make that design as in pictures? i scrolled over the themes and nothing similar also theres no night mode

I took Paradocks' original dark theme and lightened it up a little bit more to my liking.  If you'd like to use my lighter version, the script can be found here.  Otherwise, Paradocks' original theme can be found here. His also has notes in the script, which may help beginners.  The background can of course be changed to another image of your liking, url found near the top of the script.

EDIT:  A note that my version also removes the header up top, simply to give the main betting area more screen real estate.  It originally also removed the MAX button, but I deleted that line.  If you still want the header to show up, just remove that line from the bottom of the script.

thanks! added it to the linklist at http://pdstats.co.nf/!
Really nice site, is this completely owned by you? Or is it run by primedice itself. Also how do you get your stats? Does primedice have an API you can use?

Its not owned nor run by pd . Hui done all the work for it, and i provided domain.

Its a community site. As you can see most of the scripts and bots are made by someone in primedice community.

Yah, it's a great resource, I just learned about it the other day.  I appreciate the effort that went into this.  I'm just starting to play with the primedice API and it's a lot of fun.  I think funtochoose was asking about this, it's got a little documentation at primedice.com/api and the actual computer running the api is api.primedice.com

I know there are a lot of DT players who use this forum but there's never much action in this thread.  I'm not really sure why.  Other gambling site threads are always getting discussion and bumps and whatnot.  DT people, where you at?

Maybe Teppy should offer us some incentive to get the bitcointalk discussion going.

That's a strange graphic man.  Eagle flies off face.  Is that supposed to be like the bitcoin price taking wings or something?
2676  Economy / Services / Re: Giving 4 days unlimited traffic for 1 BTC on: March 07, 2015, 09:48:41 PM
Right, this OP seems as cryptic as it seems scammy.  I can't imagine anyone sending 1BTC based on this one liner sentence about "unlimited traffic".  Nuts!

you have to come back after those three months, now many people just wait Wink

Huh?  Well I assume I'll still be around and active in three months.  Neverthless, my point was that these guys basically up and stole my money and they won't reply now to any contact attempts.  That's seems pretty low if you ask me.  I don't know how they expect that anyone would believe in any new business they form until the old business gets debt straightened out.

I read your post like five times trying to figure out if you were asking a question or answering one.  Ha.

I finally decided that you were answering so I've got nothing to add.  Wanna bet on who makes legendary first (j/k)?
2680  Economy / Securities / Re: [CRYPTO-TRADE] Crypto-trade.com IPO and official thread! on: March 07, 2015, 08:11:02 PM
I guess if they reply to my email in 3 months that would be better than never.  Still, what a shame about these guys.  Was it really better to take everyone's money and lose your reputation?  How do they think they're going to be successful in a new venture when they have all this baggage from their last try?
