2661  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Kit Sales Open, official sales price $2260 per Kit on: May 31, 2014, 07:51:01 PM
S2 was not a bad deal at the group buy price of 1650.

I hindsight, the $1650 S2 group buy was a great deal. I managed to pick up a few units.

Yeah missed that GB - looking at the SP10...

4.8115 BTC (which includes shipping) for 1.4 TH/s

Still too high for ROI. Stuck between a rock and a hard place - sit on the coins.

What price would please you for an SP10?
2662  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: XBTec Announce. New ASIC manufacturer on: May 31, 2014, 07:44:19 PM
Deal with escrow.

Are you in Jim?

I can increase the bet to 0.5BTC if you want too.

No need for escrow.

And no I don't have that much to gamble.

Deal if you agree to 1+w/gh = you win. Less than that and I win.

Although is far from your 0.7w statement, I am in for the 1w/Ghs.

Anything better you win.

Are you betting that Russian+Chinese cannot engineer a good product? Ask Bitfury Valery Vavilov who just got $20 mil in venture funding.

There can only be one BitFury!

You might want to change the marketing specs to 1.3 TH to 1.45 TH to not disappoint 120v buyers.  All 3 of my miners on turbo is averaging 1320 GH/s @ 25C

On BTCGuild, reported rates are averaging 1250 GH/s each.

Rates were slightly higher when I posted before but it looks like they dropped a bit after a day or so.

It's in the +-10% usual margin.

Customs? Can they do they paperwork? How much they charge it??

They can provide help with shipping through a local Transport company that can also help with custom documents and maybe some custom rates too so yes.

Yes you will have to pay 25,5% VAT of the price on the proforma invoice. This you will get reimbursed within two months.

Not sure how that works for the moment. I just ordered one to be sent directly to them. Hope that I can beat Collider!

2665  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: MinerTechnologies.com - MTCH1, MTCH2, ASM1 for sell and cloud mining available on: May 31, 2014, 10:17:35 AM
Miner Technologies wants to help you mine cryptocurrencies by offering reasonable prices on powerful products.

Why now show us a live demo of the units?

2667  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have 3 Million USD to invest into Crypto Currency - How should I do it? on: May 31, 2014, 03:54:00 AM
May 8 2014 you created the thread, one BTC was 447$
Today it is 609$

Theoretically, if you had bought 3m$ worth of BTC on May 8 you would have made a paper profit of a cool 1,000,000$

And real if sold BTC.

I am sending one sp10 to Iceland, to test everything out.
Will report back at the middle of next week, as everything should be set up by then.

I will have direct access to the miner via webinterface, and i will post some screenshots.

Bitcoin Payment soon! I have suggested them to setup bitcoin payment and they told me that they will put pressure on the CFO to do that. Hooray!

Who is your contact at Advania? I may be interested in hosting a couple there.

Just use the Contact webform and mention Bitcoin mining.
2669  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ***BLITZ GB*** SP-Tech SP15 pre-order - 3TH/s - $2800 *** 0.93$/GH - 0.46W/GH on: May 30, 2014, 10:42:02 PM
Originally I was the one asking for an additional miner, but I was really hoping for something a bit sooner... September is a long way from now...

If we order and pay now, and the value of BTC goes back up to $1000, we lose in terms of fiat by paying now, or if the price of BTC goes back down to $350 (or lower), it'll be that much harder to break even, if that is at all possible.

Do you plan to do anymore GB's for SP10 with a lower price? Maybe at least $2700 WITH shipping? I know the price of BTC have gone up a bit but that's no excuse to, essentially, throw money away.

Well if BTC goes back up to $1000 good luck finding in stock miners sales will explode and if BTC goes back down to $350 then you will still have the most power efficient miners. Win win.

As for the SP10 GB I don't know. I'm not sure many will join or maybe I should put a 100 units minimum.

Whilst I appreciate your efforts and I've been in both the previous group buys....

I'd much rather have a deal on the SP10's that are in stock, the price hasn't moved for a while and difficulty has gone up, as much as I love mine I can't pull the trigger on any more at current price.

Agreed. A SP10 in the hand is worth two SP15s in the bush.  Smiley

They are shipping from stock and exchange rate is up.
2671  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ***BLITZ GB*** SP-Tech SP15 pre-order - 3TH/s - $2800 *** 0.93$/GH - 0.46W/GH on: May 30, 2014, 09:58:00 PM
They are not offloading the risk onto buyers because there is not risk. They are trying to secure a supply chain and the advantages are numerous for doing that.

Lol that is a bit disingenuous Road , saying there is no risk.  And this is coming from someone who ordered sp30s for Aug deilvery.  There is a ton of risk the main one being that the price of BTC falls off a cliff along with high diff which makes these machines nothing but expensive paperweights.

I could name more but you get my drift.  Yes its a lesser Risk than Pr-ordering from BA or KNC but there is ALWAYS a risk to the per-orderer.

Of course I was talking about the non-delivery/being late risk. The difficulty and the exchange rate isn't in SP-Tech's hands.

He's talking about market risk. The company itself is probably the most solid in the industry.

Mining companies would have you believe that the only reasons they build and sell equipment rather than build and mine equipment are altruistic: For the good of the network, bitcoin in general, etc. Reality is that, just like in every industry, they are doing it for a managed risk/profit margin to people who have slightly different needs or desires. By doing presales, they guarantee their revenue even if the market becomes saturated with equipment, which it just might.

Any rate, we're way off topic now and in the OP you wanted this thread to stay on topic and ignore profitability debates. I'm really interested in getting one of these myself, but I need to make sure I have the coin first. Unfortunately the interest in this isn't what I expected it would be when I first saw this. I'm hoping we can make the 400 to even make this a possibility.

Don't you think that this is good for further and better development?

thanks for the lightning quick response

just some clarification if you dont mind

so if by june 5 you collect 400 reservations i would get request/instructions/whatever for the full payment

is that immediately, what is the deadline for the actual payment?

what if you collect 400 reservations but some people dont pay, is the group buy still valid?

what if you collect 400 reservations but they decide to not make the sp15, i guess thats a possibility too?

If by 5 June there are at least 400 reservations you would be required to pay immediately. I think that a decent 2-3 days are allowed extra for any type of payment that you wish to use.

If there are 400 reservations but some people won't pay there will be a decision right then depending on various factors. Can't say anything for sure, but I can say that I will try to make it decent.(like I won't cancel the GB for missing 3-4 units or stuff like that)

If there are 400 units paid there will be a SP15 for sure. Maybe it will be available for some future batches, but if the requirement won't be met then there is a good possibility that the "Home Edition" miners era is dead.
2672  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 30, 2014, 08:52:37 PM
So selling 10% of the network hashrate and having another 20PH worth of hardware to sell along with loads of assets = worthless?

So the money from the sales got reinvested into more wavers? All of them?
2673  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ***BLITZ GB*** SP-Tech SP15 pre-order - 3TH/s - $2800 *** 0.93$/GH - 0.46W/GH on: May 30, 2014, 08:47:18 PM
when would i need to pay the $2800?

After there are 400 units reserved. If reservation isn't met I will return you the reservation fee.

The product itself looks very good. It's the three month pre-order at only half the cost of currently available hardware that is not so good, but to each their own. If the price of BTC is much higher in September than it is now, this could still work out OK for buyers in fiat terms.

I can't really blame spondoolies-tech for trying to presell as much hardware as they possibly can because it offloads their risk onto buyers.

They are not offloading the risk onto buyers because there is not risk. They are trying to secure a supply chain and the advantages are numerous for doing that.
2674  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ***BLITZ GB*** SP-Tech SP15 pre-order - 3TH/s - $2800 *** 0.93$/GH - 0.46W/GH on: May 30, 2014, 08:08:32 PM
Not worth the risk for razor thin margins.

Agreed. Very high level calculations show that this unit costs about half per GH as much as currently available mining hardware, uses half as much electricity, but won't be delivered for 3+ months.

If difficulty goes up more than 2x over the next 3 months, which is VERY likely, this is not a very good buy. Money would be much better spent deploying hardware now at twice the cost per GH and mining with it for the next 3 months.

Well people showed interest about this kind of product:

SP-30 Home Edition?  So... 50% of the hash rate of the SP-30 is 2.7TH/s running on a single PSU?  Quiet?  Wow... effectively double the hash power of the SP-10 that I don't need to have a personal data center to run.  Um... yes please!

Seems people are not happy that this months divs went towards next months production costs.

Uh oh. I just stumbled across this article: http://www.kitguru.net/components/anton-shilov/tsmc-extends-28nm-chip-lead-time-to-16-weeks-puts-chip-designers-at-risk/

Quote
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. has extended lead time for production of chips using 28nm process technology from ten to 16 weeks recently, a media report reads. The company reportedly claimed that the demand for 28nm manufacturing process is very high and therefore orders placed in May would take more time to complete.

According to DigiTimes, TSMC had warned its clients that orders placed this month may not be fulfilled until September or October due to tight production schedules.

Old news. August SP30 not affected!

2 Spondoolie SP10's for sale in NJ

If you live in or around NJ and want a couple SP10's let me know. Dad and I are selling ours that we just received this week. Both work perfectly, are built like tanks but just a little too noisy for us in our homes. My girlfriend rules my world I guess. We just don't have the accommodations and setup like some of you have at home so that's why we are selling them. And it kills me as I write this because bitcoin is now over $600.

We paid $2795+$193 shipping = $2988

We are selling both for $5200, which is $2600 for each one. Gives you almost $400 off each one. Please, the price is firm.

If you are interested please message me here on the forums and I'll give you my contact information. I would need to drive my SP10 to my Dad's place, which is a couple hours away so if you are interested please contact me as soon as you can. I'll check the forums as much as I can today.

Thank you,

Michael
