You can say that but greedy people will always be greedy, and they will always find newbies in crypto that they can fool thru their hype. There will always be newbies that they can play their pump and dump tricks.

IEO will be more secure and less scam will happen because it will be at least screened by the exchange. If the IEO is being hosted by a top exchange, there is a lesser chance that it is a scam. This is very different from ICO where scam is very rampant. And since an Exchange is guaranteed in an IEO, you are sure you can sell them tokens if need be. It is way better than ICO and can offer a better chance for a profit.  The only way you can lose is that if the token is shitty and you become a bag holder or get dumped on.

There must be something that you have done that allowed them to take control of your eth address. Maybe one of those small stuffs that you need to do in order to receive airdrops. We can never really know unless there is more information.

There is nothing to be gained from doing it, just fake volume of members. I normally just report them as a scam and get out of it.

It did not happen at the height of ETH, ICO and smart contracts, I doubt it will happen in the near future. ETH has its uses and it is good in its own way. But it will never overcome bitcoin.

Created by Satoshi or not, if it is a better version than the current bitcoin client, then I will support it. But if it does not have anything better to offer, just the name Satoshi attached to it, then no. The only way is to move forward. ICOs are startups so it will take years before they can realize any profit for investors. Most ICOs did not fare well during the bear season. This does not mean that they are all scams. If you see their team are legitimately trying to improve their product and open to discussion in their communication media, then they are not scammers. But some newbie investors readily scream scam when the price doesn't move or falling without even looking at the current status of the market or the project itself.

The bear market is practically over. Even after the bitfinex scandal, bitcoin price slides only a few hundred dollars. If we are still in the bear market, this kind of news will hurt us very badly maybe a thousand dollars price slide or more. But it does not, so it means the bull is strong enough the put the support above 5000$.

If you put it that way, then it can be true. Much more if you are using leverage in your trades. But it is also true that you can lose massively if you made a wrong trade. If only we share the same sentiment with everyone. They view bitcoin as an instrument or investment to make more fiat. They will see bitcoin's value when they experience the crisis caused by the hyperinflation of fiat.

New exchanges often have very low volume, so trading with them is a disadvantage. I rather stick to exchanges that I am already familiar and have high volume.

A scandal that huge and we only see a 5% drop. This just shows that bitcoin has become much stronger, stable and the holder more diversified. A few years ago, if the same scandal happens, we will see a massive dump. It is different now. There is no bank run because there is no bank.
