As you can see, the unencrypted backup is useless once you've used the encrypted wallet to generate new keys. That's not entirely accurate: The coins that were already in the wallet before encryping it are still there, also in the backup. But the moment you use a new receiving address, or create a transaction which sends funds to a change change, those aren't in the old backup anymore.

I am using a coin-specific multiwallet that does not have much fee control- but this would have happened with any wallet I guess, because the culprit is the incoming TX. Using coin control would have prevented it: Next time, make sure to use the coin control feature to select which UTXOs you want to spend. If your wallet doesn't allow manual coin control or manual fees: stop using that wallet and switch to a decent one. Take your seed or private key and import it. For now, all you can do is wait until your transaction is dropped. If your current wallet keeps broadcasting it, that may take a very long time. I guess electrum or bitcoin core would have displayed the pending dust TX, but that also can be overlooked. Bitcoin Core doesn't use unconfirmed inputs from third parties.

I'm not sure if I've seen one without the template etched on to the metal. There's not much to sell that way. The etched ones are good looking, the benefit from bare steel is that the seller has no idea you own Bitcoin. one dot in a box for words 1-12, two dots for words 13-24, or three dots if the letters overlap. I like it If it's not too close together: 3 dots in one square and 2 dots in the next square can get confusing.

Transparent sheet is necessary? Why not a white sheet? Editing my text from more than a year ago failed slightly. It's fixed now.
Seems like the idea is inspired by the famous series 'Breaking Bad' - Hector Salamanca's Communication Method. My other seed backup is burried at +34° 59′ 20″, -106° 36′ 52″.

This seems like an overly complicated method with many chances of making a mistake, and no benefits at all. It's not as if you can print the colors and find back the exact HEX number later.
It reminds me of another project I started more than a year ago: "100 dots" ! I never completed it (due to the lack of clean sheet metal), but it's time to post it

After reading n0nce's Steel Washer Backup jig (customisable), Securing Your Seed Phrase with Washers, Stainless steel Bitcoin Recovery Seed Plate, m2017's post and ColorSEED Or how to simply hide your seed phrase, I think it's time to post an idea I've had for a while. I came up with a combination that doesn't require a 3D-printer or laser engraving. Just a normal printer is enough. For security: I prefer to have 2 different backup systems in place for the same data. I do of course test both systems independently, to see if I can recover them (before funding). Printing on paper and transparent sheetsYou may need to adjust the printer setting. There are 2 types of transparent sheets, either for laser printers or for ink jets. TemplateTape the paper sheet on a metal plate, get your center punch, and hammer the first 4 characters of each seed word with one dot per character. Then hammer 4 more dots in the red "oo" for alignment. Remove and burn the paper sheet. The size isn't perfect, it might be too small, but I don't want 24 seed words to take up a very large sheet of metal either. Maybe someone with better graphics skills than me can improve this. Using exact 5 mm squares should make it possible to decipher the dots using only a ruler and a pencil, without printing on a transparent sheet. But that would make the required metal sheet size at least 13x24 cm for just 12 words. With accurate measuring, it should still be possible to decipher the dots without printing again. 100 dotsFor 24 seed words, you'll end up with exactly 100 dots. 50 dotsFor 12 seed words, use only "o" instead of "oo" just because 52 dots sounds less nice DecipheringTape the transparent sheet at the right location, and read back the seed words. With accurate measuring, it should be possible to decipher the dots without transparent sheet. Hiding in plain sightWho's going to suspect a metal plate with "random" holes to hold your money? Do I dare use it?I haven't tested this yet (due to the lack of clean sheet metal), and wouldn't use it as the only backup for real funds. No spamSelf-moderated against spam. Discussion is of course allowed.

It is not suggesting you to give up your coins, they are technical indicators. I know what it says, my point is it's a weird thing to see when I was hoping to see my transaction history. But you are right, wallets should not be for trading. Although, those are not the real indicators, it is only suggesting buy or sell What if you're a Newbie, got this wallet recommended, bought your first Bitcoin, and then the wallet tells you " sell"! I'm not sure yet if I'll be recommending this wallet.

I'm curious how you came to the conclusion that you improved the quality of your posts? I checked modlog after reading his post yesterday, and he had one topic and one post deleted. That's just from the last 7 days. For some reason he thinks those 2 PMs he received about it are meaningless. He's now on my Ignore list. The forum is nicer without reading worthless posts.

I now have 4 coins in Unstoppable Wallet, and discovered the Analytics tab. All 4 coins show exactly the same: Technical Indicators Summary: Strong Sell Moving Averages: Strong Sell Oscillators: Sell I've never seen a crypto wallet that basically tells me to give up on crypto The Wallet is separate from the Transactions. I'd expect to see all Transactions "under" each coin, instead of on a separate tab where I either see all coins, or have to select one again. All in all there are some design choices in Unstoppable Wallet that I would not have made myself.

So when I have set to exchange to 0.01 BTC to ETH, is there I have to send the amount of 0.01 BTC exactly? What happens if I send it less or more for example I send 0.009 or 0.012? Will it be received according to what we sent? This works the way you'd expect it to work The Letter of Guarantee doesn't mention anything about an amount, and the transaction page shows this: If the amount sent is different than 0.01 BTC, the exchange amount will be recalculated automatically

I know that right! Vod and OgNasty had balls and it got to a point that Vod was writing to the FBI, reviewing OgNasty real identity and even planned a lawsuit, I mean that was epic. I wouldn't call it "epic". More like it destroyed lives. Don't go down that road. Using the Ignore button and moving on is much better for something as unimportant as an internet forum. Controlling 200 cows is easier than controlling 10 adults. Trust me Lol. What lives are you referring to? Mainly his own, up to the point that the forum contributed to a stroke. Ignoring people is so much better.

@Mods: Why isn't this guy banned yet? BPIP shows 54 deleted posts, AI chatbot spam is plagiarism by definition, plagiarism isn't allowed. So why isn't he banned? It takes no effort to create those posts, but it's a tremendous waste of time having to read through those shitposts and report them. If one report means the user gets banned, at least it feels like it's worth the effort of reporting them. If nothing happens after 54 deleted posts, what's going to happen to the Tech boards?

Let me know if you want to give it a try! I don't easily install software on phones, so I won't try it. But I must admit it sounds more promising than I initially expected.

For all .dat files in one go, start with "cat blk* |" instead I often use sort on large data sets, and can recommend to change the sort command to sort -u -S60% (assuming you have at least 60% of your RAM available). This largely reduces the need to write /tmp-files. Without this, sort uses only about 0.1% of the system's memory. Depending on how big the final list is, this may or may not matter for performance.

The company would be profitable by charging a fixed fee for businesses to accept lightning in their brick-and-mortar store The Dutch company BitKassa offers something similar, I mainly know them from Arnhem BTCitcoincity. They've been around for years, but the statistics don't show much growth. It would be cool if you can pull it off though, I'd love to see more shops accept Bitcoin LN.

We'll pay you in Bitcoin. You should post this on the Services board. We're building a better Bitcoin wallet with simpler payments and effortless security out of the box. It sounds like you're planning to create a custodial wallet. That goes against everything Bitcoin stands for, and handing over private keys to someone else is the opposite of "security". - Sending, easy as a text: Make instant payments straight to your phone contacts, whether they use the app or not Whatever you're sending, it's not Bitcoin. Unless you're sending funded private keys, but that would be terribly insecure. - Private payments: Each payment creates a new single-use address, so even on-chain activity can't be linked, ensuring your privacy. There are no "single-use addresses" in Bitcoin. You can choose to use each address only once though. And transactions can still be linked on-chain, even if you use each address only once. - Secure by default: Multiple backups have you covered, with more recovery methods like social recovery in development. "Social recovery" is terribly risky. Backup your private key or seed phrase, and be your own bank. That's how you backup Bitcoin. - Despite being easier to use, it's completely non-custodial Why didn't you start with this? I have a really hard time believing you can do non-custodial social recoveries, so please start by explaining the technical details. Our team has worked on and founded some of the bigger projects in the space. Which projects? Please provide evidence.
