Most iconic erm... I mean most ridiculous topics from Off-topic board

According to the description of Off-topic board, the materials presented there should be "Other topics that might be of interest to bitcoiners. ".

Furthermore, according to the sticky topic from Off-topic board,

1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads.
...
3. No pointless or uninteresting threads.

Off topic is a section for any other topics that do not fit into any other sub, however, it is not a subforum for account farmers to lazily spam their way through the ranks and doing so will no longer be tolerated. If you are caught spamming unsubstantial posts just to farm or rank up your account your account(s) will be immediately permabanned without warning.

However, during time, I noticed many topics which have absolutely no connection to bitcoiners nor present any interest for them. So I decided to make a list with such topics (those interested are free to contribute), in part for the lulz, as they are hilarious, and in part thinking that maybe their authors may be banned for posting such content, which violates the description of the board and the rules quoted above.

As of February 26, 2020, notbatman - the Supreme Leader of this gang - closed the gates of his Church, without any explanation, leaving the believers lost under the (flat?) Sun. The terrible news were brought by suchmoon: "Unfortunately Bitcointalk's most famous flatearther locked his thread after merely ~800 pages without conclusively proving whether the Earth is flat or not". After almost 5 years of hard, scientific debates, everything appears to be lost. Not entirely though, thanks to suchmoon, which although declined her competences on this delicate matter, she generously offered a shelter for these poor people who lost their leader, but hopefully, not their faith. Thus, with her help, maybe the remains of what was once a prosperous gang, will raise again!

It is 187 pages of exactly what the title infers, with (NSFW) pics to back up the discussion.

This topic probably must be of very high interest for bitcoiners. Sadly, it was locked.

I don’t know whether they will pay attention to reports with low-value posts, but I think everyone understands that this is an open window for increasing activity.

However, the bans applied in this section for breaking its rules are very low. Maybe posts get deleted for having zero-value and for being one liners but, since hilariousandco stated that bans will be applied for all these cases, I don't understand why many of these users don't get banned.

This one here was just annoying and just like @lovesmayfamilis observed, it was a one lined question. As if the forum would shatter if they put more effort in their questions. Who even gave the rule that most of these questions should be one line or one worded? Or is it reserved for stupid questions only?
 Instead of the board being littered with spam from account farmers, isn't there a way to just scrap it or maybe turn it to someplace useful?

This thread is the best topic on bitcointalk.

It ran for 3.5 years before it got locked. There was one member, dragonbird, who posted there 414 times... as a matter of fact, every post he ever made on the forum was in that thread, lol. He was a dedicated expert on the subject.

Such experts are rara avis. This also made me remember notbatman and Flat Earth topic, which was also, sadly, locked after so much academic debates. I listed both topics to OP.

There is no rule about the format of nicknames, while each board has its own rules.

Since I read that, I sometimes go there and report a few topics. They either get deleted, or locked if the topics are older. It's rare to find a topic there that's actually interesting.

I thought posts in Off-topic aren't counted as "Posts", but it looks like they're still counted as normal posts.
All I found back is this:

• Certain sub boards shouldn't count to post count or activity (Bounties, Games & Rounds and possibly Off Topic).

OK in principle, would require thought/adjustment/implementation. Many of these things are more complex than they look at first glance.

Patch time? Although this would risk moving the spammers to other boards.

OMG! I did not think that such topics also exists or existed here on BTT and this one ran for 3.5 years. Well, tbh, now I started to wish that the Imgur or the image hosting provider used to host images there would be live today   I read some replies, and they are really exciting hehe.

Well, overall the topics mentioned above are really worth reading, which means they are so relational but only a few ones. I know they are off-topic but worth discussing.

What good is that if those accounts aren't earning merits?  Sure, their activity goes up but that isn't worth much ever since the merit system got dropped like an A-bomb on account farmers and shitposters.  I don't get the benefit of making stupid one-liners in the Off-topic section or any other.

Not sure if I've ever really browsed Off-topic, but those threads are about what I'd expect.  There are similar sections on a bunch of different discussion forums (not necessarily related to crypto), and that's usually where the conspiracy theorists and other assorted nutjobs hang out and spew their idiotic nonsense.  I suspect a lot of these threads are just trolling, too.  Then again, some people really do believe the earth is flat, so....

Thank you GazetaBitcoin for bringing up this thread discussion here, when i first saw it, the first thing that rang my mind was that of the shit post hall of fame thread which look similar to this, but this is actually talking much of the topics while that one about the contents, there are topics in which i wonder how they would have constitute other boards if there were not off topic section to place them, I can't imagine people posting about weird topics here on the public, what came my mind was that, how could this same people be imagined on real life.

Do you know that some people in this forum despite how long they have stayed in the forum they have not know when their discussions is entering off topic or not...actually any discussion that is not being related to a particular discussion in a thread it's an off topic.

Have we asked ourselves while people post is been off topic....one of the reasons while some of the discussion is been off discussion, is when someone have a numerous of accounts and sometimes it not pay concentration into discussion and exactly what the thread is emphasising on....A multiple accounts causes some discussion been derailed, so therefore scam bursters suppose have fish them out...because when you cross check majority of our posts you can notice that some discussion are not meaningful.

Secondly..some haters report post's that is off quality, some of the topic or threads moved from were it's was established or created to off topic should as result of haters...at least before we report some posts that lacks meaning, we have to at least read the post at most three times  before reporting.

😆 Your first line cracked me up. Maybe they're psychic like that and wouldn't want to do anything that could shatter the forum. You never can tell... On a serious note, many of those posting in Off-Topic are newbies who are lost about Bitcoin discussion and need time on the forum to catch up with the general flow. You know how we all started, right?

You need to align this with what happens at the Altcoin Discussion board to be able to draw a conclusion and see if you won't rescind on your verdict. There's great spam happening at the Altcoin board, only that they don't come as one liners like Off Topic posts.

Lol...i don't read threads like that... I'm not sure about the last time I visited that board to start with... I really think it's not necessary to do so since there's actually not much I'll have to learn in there.
I've read so many of those miscommunicated subtitles and it's quite amusing that most time, the main idea which is conveyed doesn't even tally with them ... I think they may sometimes feel since alot more isn't said in there, alot of supervisions aren't made a priority...but that's a big lie.
