Suggestion for the first page of this thread: Use the official "available on Google Play" logo and you know make it sort of something like this:  That way its immediately clear that the app is available right now! Its also made immediately clear that there is an image that people know and are familiar with. Rather than searching on Google play for gems/gemz and not finding anything and then having to go through the whole front page and see the "app available now" section. Just think it would be good to make it more accessible and more obvious where/how to get the app. Thanks. I agree. I also wonder if the wording for the app could better reflect what it is. The crypto currency element is hidden in the last line. I would say a focus on getting coins/money as a reward should be cleverer. Maybe you have to careful about pushing a crypto currency, I dunno, but it just looks like another messenger app to me. Good point, the fact that it pays users to operate within the network is much bigger than it being fun and simple which mean that it should be highlighted more boldly in the description, preferably in the first line. It says 'Rewarding. Earn coins for introducing new users to the network' but coins can be interpreted differently. It should be money/get paid or something similar. People should know they get value in return, coin doesn't really reflect that imo. I edited the dutch section. The Google play download logo should just be on the top of the page. I forgot to add in my original post that this is also the case of the official website (getgems.org); there is no android logo anywhere and the website has still not been updated to reflect recent events. I also found the section on the official website regarding the wallet extremely confusing; I eventually figured out it uses counterwallet for storage of coins. This is great, except that it is information that is not conveyed in an effective manner. Again, these are just the thoughts of someone who is new to GEMZ--but I really think there needs to be better work on the communication. I don't believe I'm asking a lot, just at least put the available on android logo on the thread and official website--no one wants to read 5000 pages of boring mumbo jumbo when they hear the term "android app" and see screenshots, the first thing they want to do is download/install the app. Also as another note the app doesn't make it immediately clear what your wallet address is--I think it'd be much better if it showed the address in text and we could then click to copy; hiding the address makes it seem like there is some extra hoop to jump to find it. The wallet should really say something like "wallet on PC via counterwallet.io"; this way its clear to users who don't want to read mumbo jumbo how they can access their account from anywhere. Besides showing the address i agree with everything you said i will forward these post to them via Twitter. If you long tap in the wallet section it automatically saves your address, showing long strokes of digits and letters imo is too much. but i agree on the counterwallet option and the rest you said. |

Just to give some positive news. The download counter went to 1000-5000 today. Which is pretty good going considering the stage we are at.
That's great considering the app is in the fine tuning stage and not 100% functional yet, also the main features haven't been released yet. Up to 10.000-50.000 I have been looking a bit at how social media apps similar to GEMS have grown. None exploded overnight it seems and many took 6 months at least to start getting popular. The first stage is the most important I think. So many apps have 5,000 downloads and thats it, NXTTY is typical of that. I personally think the magic number is 50,000 because if we get 50,000 its really not a jump to 100,000 and then 500,000+. If we get to 50,000 buy every single Gemz coin you possibly can, cause after that I believe its moon time. We should aim for more, it has a great team behind it. Israel has the most successful startup ratio after silicon valey, Gems has what it takes to be one of them. If it makes it, even 50k-100k i would be very glad i took part of its birth at a very tiny space on the internet. I think from 100k network effect spreads faster. |

I won't buy until it reaches 1$. When it reaches 1$, i ll wait for 0.1$. Then I'll wait until its dead.
The point is: btc isn't about making a quick buck anymore. All greedy faggots moving their ass to fiat, which is a good thing.
Why would you use btc in real life?
1) You use it to buy something anonimously.
2) You do not need to have a credit card.
3) You can transfer your high amount of money through the world with nearly "zero" fee.
You don't use it to make money. Yes earliers and luckers got a big piece from the cake, but it ended. Now back to reality. If you want money, you need to work.

You need to have your gemz on your getgems account / address(counterparty)
Then how does tracked activity / balans on the koinify accounts get merged or linked to the GetGems account and I'm not sure I want all GEMZ in the app while the dev. is still working on fine tuning everything. I'm not the right person to comment on technical matters but I'm pretty sure the app is seperate to your actual Counterparty wallet. You need to log into your Counterparty wallet and make a new wallet if you want one seperate to the app one. You can even make an offline one. Hi nextgencoin, thats the whole point, I have no problem creating a counterparty wallet but that puts my GEMS outside the Perky, Reward etc structure doesn't it and what happens to the accounts/GEMZ left on Koinify, will those be eligible for the "how much can we get for free" part? I don't think storing gemz at koinify counts for reward calculation, i think it only goes for the getgems app and imo thats a good thing, because it also an incentive for users to use gemz in the app. |

How does buying pre-sale coins lead to bonus air drops?
If I sell my pre-sale coins will I lose this perk?
Or will there be a link between my Koinify account and getgems account? How would these accounts be linked?

Can a fresh user that just received his first gem from a friend also send gemz without having BTC in his wallet ?
Right now no. The only way to send GEMZ within the app is "on-chain" counterparty transaction which requires btc fee. In the future GEMZ will be settled offline to allow for speed, security and zero transaction fees. GEMZ will able to be withdrawn to any external counterparty wallet at anytime. So, you are going to take the GEMZ in the Gems wallet off block chain and store it in a centralized server? How is that more secure? Sure, cheaper and faster yes. The plan was actually to "bring Bitcoin to the mass".. gemz is just a reward for people who use the app so it doesn't matter if the end up on a centralized server.. The problem is that fresh users won't be able to send gems nor bitcoin since they have no btc to cover the fee (or any btc to send btc that is) and that is a big step backwards for the plan. I'm not saying it's a bad way to go. As you say, that's the way most tip bots work. I'm just saying, it's not "more secure", it centralizes the GEMZ on the Gems server in a db somewhere (or cluster) whatever, which is much less secure (hardware wise and trust wise) than the bitcoin blockchain. At the end its not the blockchain who secures your bitcoin for you, its security depends more on the user. |

Not many people have downloaded the app so far.
Well personally I don't want to promote it, spread the word or invite friends until the basics work without problems and everything is clear to me so I can explain to others.. People are not gonna try twice. Guess I'm not the only one thinking like this so I the surge in downloads due to invites still has to come. Think most are also waiting for iOS release for the same reason.. I agree with you, don't think the app is fully functional yet, some bugs during the first release which need to be fixed. |
