Oke, this starts to look like a stupid joke. Koinify, get your shit straight.
I confirmed with YES 3 times, and there are almost 24 hours since I did so. My first 10 gemz withdrawal confirmed pretty fast.
I can't trade because of your paranoid/lazy kind of handling this.

I'm needing to buy some BTC just so I can make withdraws, would anyone be interested in selling me 0.0025btc for some GEMZ just to help? At the current poloniex price. This is my btc address 1Az85RdQnFZUdXWNP8Qz8AnbtzDUY6uWWp, if someone decides just to send it let me know your GEMZ address, by quoting this post, so I can send the corresponding amount .
Anyone?

No That's why I'm trying to get some, I spend all by my btc in GEMZ, I should have saved some, I was not aware that you need BTC to send counterparty assets

You guys are pretty brave putting your couterwallet password into your GEMs wallet. I know I wouldn't do that. Just my 2 GEMZ.

Right now no. The only way to send GEMZ within the app is "on-chain" counterparty transaction which requires btc fee. In the future GEMZ will be settled offline to allow for speed, security and zero transaction fees. GEMZ will able to be withdrawn to any external counterparty wallet at anytime.

So, you are going to take the GEMZ in the Gems wallet off block chain and store it in a centralized server? How is that more secure? Sure, cheaper and faster yes.

It looks like gems wallet works like counterwallet.io, so the password is not leaving the device, should be pretty safe if you keep your phone encrypted and protected with password.

Sure, if you trust the gems wallet. At least with the counter party wallet I can audit the code and use traffic monitors to see what is sent to the server. I have no way to do that with the app. Perhaps once a third party audits the code I would feel a bit better. The problem still with a mobile app is I have no way to know the code in the repository is what was actually used to build the app submitted to the app store. I'm just saying, be cautious. There is nothing wrong with having multiple wallets. Also, if you have a rooted phone you have to be extra careful.

The plan was actually to "bring Bitcoin to the mass".. gemz is just a reward for people who use the app so it doesn't matter if the end up on a centralized server.. The problem is that fresh users won't be able to send gems nor bitcoin since they have no btc to cover the fee (or any btc to send btc that is) and that is a big step backwards for the plan.

Its a hybrid solution, very similar to what ChangeTip/Coinbase are doing. At any time you will be able to make a counterparty transaction to move your GEMZ on-chain or off-chain. The hybrid solution is good for the "Airdrop" and for new users while not taking from the security of users that want to have their GEMZ only on-chain.

I'm not saying it's a bad way to go. As you say, that's the way most tip bots work. I'm just saying, it's not "more secure", it centralizes the GEMZ on the Gems server in a db somewhere (or cluster) whatever, which is much less secure (hardware wise and trust wise) than the bitcoin blockchain.

Still waiting for my withdrawal from Koinify, it's been more that 24 hours now...and yes I replied "YES" to email, even though it did not say to in the confirmation email... I hope we get some answers. I messaged Tom too and there has been no response yet... Anyone else having issues withdrawing from Koinify to Polo?

Me too. We need to wait for the man to wake up, and make his "manual confirmations", etc...

All withdrawals are processed, there defiantly was no 24 hour delay in approving and processing (at the time or writing, we haven't even had withdrawals open for 24 hours), we have a team around the clock 24/7 monitoring these. I'd suggest checking you sent it to the correct address, but there are no hanging or pending withdraws that ever sat in queue for anywhere close to 24 hours. I sent to Polo yesterday, it took 3.5 hours to hit my account. Its Poloniex, I have chats from the customer support team saying the "GEMZ network is very slow today"... whatever that means. Regardless, I had a similar experience with Poloniex yesterday. As for anybody else, you're being approved and processed when we see your 'YES' email.

Is there a time limit how long gemz can stay at koinify or doesn't it matter?
