2701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos are open - end of the Pandemic era. on: July 14, 2020, 01:01:38 PM

Furthermore flights to Las Vegas are already full, and people are coming in large numbers to play out there, hence I’m sincerely praying that no one gets infected while playing out there.

Our stupid, unnecessary moves is going to kill us. For a gambler it's not something that he must do, but still they have to go just because they feel the luxury. No one is safe until we have a vaccine.

Imagine how would one feel if they caught the virus because they were too stupid to go the casino and got infected from there.

I agree. Gamblers that will choose to get into casinos in Las Vegas will surely die out of stupidity knowing that covid-19 pandemic is still on and having a mass gathering would just create commotion and the spread of the virus will be just a snap of the finger. Although they were thinking to open up the casinos for the sake of their economy, still it is an inappropriate action to do because we are still not safe since there is still no vaccine proven to kill the virus although there is already a vaccine released by Russia that have already done its final stage of trial, it will be still on a process until once proven effective to kill the virus.

It will be okay to open up casinos if they will assure that they will be just operating on 30-50% capacity to further observe social distancing and strictly implement precautionary measures like sanitation to prevent the spread of virus. But still it will be irrelevant to get into casinos at times like this because it is still too dangerous to get outside because of the infectious disease. If a gambler do really want to play gambling, there are online gambling sites to choose with which can provide a lot more convenient gaming experience with the assurance of being safe at home. Let us just set aside the thought of going into casinos for a while until such time that the vaccine is discovered to end this pandemic.
2702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how big? on: July 14, 2020, 12:07:45 PM
Exec Embezzles $22M From ‘Influencer’ Marketing Firm, Spends Nearly Half on Crypto Gambling

I know this is an old article but I'm just surprised that crypto casinos is this big already.

The article says one person has lose maybe at least $10 million in a casino from a poker game, I mean, how big we are already? I'm just amazed.

Can we just discuss the market size not the gambling addiction or anything related to that?

The size of the whole community of crypto casino is already that much big specially at this time that casinos are temporarily closed and people have no choice and if they wanted to play gambling, they will be just dropping by any online crypto casino for a much more convenient gaming experience even players are jus staying at home.

That article is not already surprising because there are lots of cases that lose of money is associated on playing in a crypto casino. That amount stated on the article is not that big if you will compare it into the whole loss being recorded while playing in a crypto casino. That is amount is really massive indeed but just for the individual loss of the player. If you will be better think of it, it is just a part of the big community that crypto casino have. It will just continue to expand as long as there are players that are being encourage playing on this platform so such loss will be stated to be a small part of it.
2703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your favorite crypto for gambling? on: July 11, 2020, 04:03:45 PM
I mainly gamble on casino sites that don't yet accept cryptos, but if I do play on crypto casino's such as stake, I always use dogecoin. Fast transactions and low fees. Never used another crypto mainly because of the fees.

Indeed, but with the volatility, some still prefer using Bitcoin as their main currency in crypto gambling platforms. Those users whom preferred Bitcoin either often had a lot of holdings in the platform they gamble so they didn't bother any fees at all or either they were simply love gambling and play in it constantly, and insist to let those platform hold their cryptos than to withdraw then deposit again.

If I gamble for fun, I gamble with Dogecoin. There will be no feel of guilt or regret if I lose because I'm doing it for fun. I can say that it's my favorite crypto just for gambling and if I gets serious, bitcoin is the choice.
I will mention LTC too, it's a good coin to use for gambling for fun.

What do you mean gambling for fun? And how could you differentiate playing with fun vs playing seriously? lol Grin
Yes, Dogecoin's low fees really are for those whom just want to play now withdraw later or should we rather say those users whom play only for their spare time just to have some fun after their works or stuffs. And I think the serious gambling is when a gambler gambles everyday for money making.. right? If I am, dogecoin can still be an option. TBH, any crypto will do as it would have same amount if exchanged to your local fiat.
2704  Other / Meta / Re: Is counter feedback a good solution? on: July 11, 2020, 03:32:02 PM
Counter feedback isn't 'good' solution but at least there is solution at all. It's like something is better than nothing. To be honest I am not a fan of 'counter feedback', it's better if possible solution by discussion. But if a user become inactive for some reason who have left negative feedback then there is no other way except counter feedback (if case has been solved). Doesn't matter if both rating reflect on profile, when someone will read feedback then they will realize everything. Also the warning for newbies and guests will be removed by leaving counter feedback. So somehow this is a solution although isn't better.

Indeed. If it was the case that someone would counter feedback, it would be pretty much mostly based off as a revenge with pure subjective reasons and criticisms. In which is still happening especially if the accusation was based on hate from certain arguments that leads to further investigation of a user's past and finding a little mistake out of it. Meanwhile, IMO, I still don't bother nor judge those who had gain negative trust while having positive trusts as well, because old and veteran users here in the forum often tends to see the validity of the reference of each flags first.

And you're right, CF must only be applied if and only if an inactive only had been active just for a negative feedback on someone. But still, opening a thread in reputation before red tagging a user either a feedback or a counter feedback is the best way to solve a certain issue.
2705  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Haven't tried Lightning? Check out Phoenix Wallet on: July 10, 2020, 05:34:54 PM
~

Is it a good option para sa mga newbie? I mean kahit ako hindi masyadong nag-dideep dive sa mga lightning networks and wallets kasi kampante nako sa Coins.ph at iba pang mga segwit and non-custodial/hard wallets. if ever na itry man namin ito, what features does it have na wala ang mga common wallets na ginagamit natin ngayon? (syempre maliban sa Lightning-like speed of transactions nito and UX na sinasabi mong nagproprogress from time to time)

But still, I might check it out and soon kapag nahumaling din ako baka ipromote ko din ang paggamit nito sa iba lalo na dito sa forum!  Grin
2706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kudos to Bitcasino.io on: July 10, 2020, 05:03:00 PM
Is this a marketing strategy to earn back the trust of Bitcointalk users to Bitcasino ? because the OP is newbie and i dont buy a single word. Perhaps this is related to the other thread posted in this section about an issue Bitcasino not paying in full instead gave the user a small of amount of his winnings in installment.
I can also see a security flaw. First all, it's very bad for a gambling website to not set up 2FA it should be mandatory because scenario's like this could happen.

Indeed. bitcasino.io already had a bad image here in the forum and a newbie promoting and stating that its support help him with his fault is just ridiculous. If their system would be faulty and had a lot of security flaws, them rewarding the victims and those victims such as the OP is just a pure desperate action by the platform to gain back the forum users trusts. Also, if they were generous like that, I might be always tell them that I'm hacked or what, because that generosity isn't a good thing but rather a foolish move IMO.
2707  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to add bitcoin as payment method in website on: July 10, 2020, 04:31:27 PM
Hi guys can anyone guide me about payment method integration one of mine client https://www.ainit.net/ want to add payment method bitcoin in thier website any merchant suggestion website is based for they offer services in sydney dubai pakistan.

Better link your bitcoin address or QR code (if your wallet offers such feature but you also need to indicate on your platform the use of the wallet you're using) on your platform/website yet it is only good for small businesses and one-at-a-time transactions. If you would do that, you might need to have connections with the sender first so that you could validate that they are the one who would send you the payment (which is a lot of work to do especially if you have a lot of payment incoming).

If you like to make it automated and just simply let the users transact and pay you while you didn't need to verify each transaction one by one, better asks or hire programmers in the Services board.
2708  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Automation Nowadays on: July 10, 2020, 03:30:07 PM
Hello!
I am the project Manager of "Trading Automation Nowadays" . This is software that will engage in trading and it is absolutely free. But you must remember that free cheese is only in the mousetrap! For this reason, after receiving the software, you will need to give 50% of the bitcoins that the software will earn you. Isn't this a cool collaboration? Places are limited! If you want to get into a closed project, then contact the founder in the telegram @McSiena

This wouldn't work mate. 50% is a huge deal for traders. Broker are much efficient and cheap as they would only get .25% of your earnings. So basically if we used your "automation" that made us lose, would you give us the 50% rebate of that loss? We'd rather work hard than use a bot that isn't verified nor popular, and give its maker a 50% part of the earnings. And if you really wanted to gain clients (in which you would find a hard time gaining here in the forum), better post this on Services as it fits your idea.

This offer is really funny and ridiculous. I mean, 50 freakin percent for a bot? Hell no! Cheesy no hard feelings dude...
2709  Other / Meta / Re: Paraphrasing, is it ok? on: July 10, 2020, 03:02:08 PM
An example:
The system has no balance. We can all see in the luxurious mansions of the wealthy San Francisco that only a few blocks away from the poor tents of the homeless. We can well feel this in individuals and certain businesses that do nothing better for civil society but earn ridiculous amounts of money. We can understand this by looking at those who are just as eager to spend money, and on the other hand, we are witnessing a very difficult situation for those whose debts have crushed their souls.

original text:
Quote
The system is rigged. We all can see it in the opulent residences of the rich in San Francisco which lie blocks away from the squalid tents of the homeless. We can feel it in the way that certain people and businesses do little to better civilization yet make ludicrous amounts of money. We can hear it in the frivolity with which certain people spend money and the morbid gravity of those whose souls are crushed by debt.

This was indeed a plagiarism. Paraphrasing is changing the whole context, from the positioning of the parts and figures of speeches to the whole context itself, onto your own vocabulary and your own word styling, AND indicating your idea's source (This is a common issue in academic papers and researches). The text you've accused didn't paraphrased at all, but rather synonymized [1] other words yet remains most of the literal words used, the idea, and the parts of speech.

[1] synonymize
to give or analyze the synonyms of (a word).
2710  Economy / Reputation / Re: Earning fraudulent Merits: automated translations to local boards on: July 10, 2020, 02:34:52 PM
~

What I found funny here is that Google Translator translates so off that you couldn't understand it well in your own language. In my case, if someone uses the translator and translates some English context onto Filipino, the proper construction of the sentences would be different and wouldn't be that understandable. And shouldn't be the local community be knowledgeable with the google translated articles?

But if there were really users that do such ridiculous activities, negative trusts isn't a fit for the issue, but rather a report or deletion, and a warning by the moderator. Negative trust should only be implied if and only if the user did not comply with the warnings (for the 3rd time/3rd offense), while if the user is already high ranks (in which they already know such activities is prohibited and never been tolerated in the forum), negative trusts upon 2nd offense would be fine..
2711  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Fake Atomic wallet phishing app on: July 10, 2020, 02:02:35 PM
I have decompiled the APK and reported to AtomicWallet via Twitter DM

The app loads a local HTML file into a webview and asks for mnemonic phrases which then sends to a Google Form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfUiPHs1lOr_XLMemq6aMLcS3BQ4BaYOJXDUTMEMqibPgazsA/viewform)

Can you indicate here the apk codes that has the line that leads to that file? Knowing that it redirects to a google form then sends to the attacker wouldn't be enough, evidences such as screenshots or the real code will do.. The file you've indicated only is I guess a dummy file form. If they would use google, wouldn't it be that hard and difficult to link due to security measures of google?

Now I see why they only need network access permission, so that they could redirect the user's phrases input in the fake app.
2712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it beneficial for the crypto casinos to add stable coins? on: July 10, 2020, 01:39:24 PM
.......
Now, here's my questions, is it beneficial for the crypto gambling industry and can we expect other popular casinos in the forum will soon add stable coins?

It is the dream of most gamblers here, to somehow have a safe haven for their holdings. With the common volatility of decentralized cryptocurrencies, many find it difficult to have a certain and stable amount of their winnings. They might win a hundred dollars now, but the time they need it, it could be only 90.

Meanwhile, some would still find having stable coins unnecessary and unrealiable, due to the fact that having stable coins could also be risky (even riskier) as you couldn't expect that later it could cost half of its price today depending on the big time holders of that certain coin (with USDT, once the USDs price suddenly go down, then their holdings in USDT would be pretty off as well)

Both have pros and cons. It would only depend on how and when would the holder withdraw his holdings.
2713  Other / Meta / Re: Is this a bug? on: July 10, 2020, 12:53:24 PM
~
Although it is smaller issue, I think we need to know here of what we should do when we encountered that bug? Do we need to erase the sig materials and refresh before it wear again or we just let it be fixed?

Pffrt already mentioned that he had slow internet connection at that time. This wasn't a bug but just a loading error. Try going to a certain bitcointalk page and instantly stop the process while it was loading (depends if you have a fibr optic connection in which you would have a hard time stopping at the right moment). Try it on threads that requires a lot of images to load such as signature campaign threads. You'll see that it wasn't a forum-wide bug, but rather a slow connection leading to slow load of website elements.
2714  Local / Pilipinas / Re: More online stores, less tax generated on: July 10, 2020, 12:26:38 PM
~
Any thoughts about this?

I don't really see the essence of taxing na may reason daw na "para sa pandemic" while the government already had trillions of donations from other companies and countries just for the support of the pandemic alone.

Same idea lang naman ng online gambling vs land-based gambling, both has taxes to pay and dapat ganun din ang lahat ng businesses whether it is small, medium, or big. But what really bothers the FIlipino people is the funds and the reasoning of the BIR na "for pandemic". Dapat gamitin nila yung legitimate reasons nila, na it is really mandatory and para fair sa mga physical businesses na nalulugi din naman dahil sa pandemic.
2715  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Those reliable exchanges on the market on: July 10, 2020, 11:56:55 AM
~

Those years were already on the long run of success. Meanwhile, there would really be people whom could be scammed because they were fooled by other platform's offers which are often too good to be true. Nowadays, there were projects more specifically trading platforms that were just starting and trying to build an audience. Yes, your list is the far most reliable, yet there were also upcoming exchanges that were faster and better than those on the list but was just taking their first steps.

Also, there are features in some low-key trading platforms that wasn't on the list, while some platforms are better because they accept ICOs as soon as they registered. A inventor of a coin doesn't always afford such registration on famous exchanges.
2716  Economy / Reputation / Re: Scam attempt by @ebaymx (packtor/404city/itliame) on: July 09, 2020, 03:33:31 PM
Here is evidence of insults, but this does not apply to this forum.
I know that this is a serious forum and not a kindergarten where they describe their grievances.

Can you even try to translate those "evidences" you've posted? LOL it's just ironic that you were more pissed off than the OP, leading you to make accounts just to support your actions, all by yourself. If you wanted to show us proofs that you were right (100% impossible), better indicate valid evidences and not screenshots of your own local language and indicating insults that only says "st***d f***". Dude is eckmar holding the grievances here or you?

BTW, Flag supported. It is a desperate and subjective action trying to make yourself right by making alt accounts with no further proofs of your stand.
2717  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Fake Atomic wallet phishing app on: July 09, 2020, 01:53:17 PM
~

FLAG SUPPORTED!

I've also looked at the fake app's permission and it was too suspicious as it only requires full network access permission while most wallets needs almost everything, and the fake wallet app's features contradicts it's permission required. Also, its file size seems to only need its phishing activities to run as crypto wallet.

Good catch op!
2718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top Bitcoin and cryptocurrency open source wallets on: July 08, 2020, 02:54:03 PM
~

How do you define Open-Source on you article? Because all I've read was just wallets that were just transparent and secured (some were not).

Open-source, in technological terms, is being defined as:
Quote
denoting software for which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified.

In which simply means that their application codes / source code must be free to download, access, and change for either an update, a bug fix, or an enhancement. Meanwhile, indicating that those wallets are open source without indicating it's github or code link is just a pure fraud and a clickbait.

If ever a wallet would be open-source, it can be used by other people to duplicate that wallet and pretend to be an original for their thefts and attacks. It would be ridiculous to have nor trust an open-sourced wallet as you would be vulnerable in many aspects, including your holdings to be exact.

2720  Other / Meta / Re: Where do Locked topics on the forum move to? on: July 08, 2020, 01:15:55 PM
1. Where do the topics go? after a Minute I set my eyes on it and I come back again to check for that topic I won't find it

There are instances that some topics are deleted, either by its maker or by the moderators. Meanwhile, locked topics only stays on what section/board it was posted. And the fact the it was locked, it will only be pushed down by the most recent topics. Though some weren't deleted, moderators often move those topics onto Archival or Off-topic (if the post was indeed off-topic in the section it was posted)

2. Who has access to locked topics in the forum apart from the creator of that topic?

You can still view locked topics yet no one can bump nor reply onto it depending if the thread poster unlocked the topic to provide an update (if and only if he locked it in the first place). Meanwhile, if moderators locked your topic, you cannot do anything at all (but AFAIK you can delete it)
