Be careful out there, scammers is using another strategy, although this is not new, but still it looks like very effective as it was reported that they have stolen more than $2 million already. You just don't know, you might get a phone call one of this days so don't believed in everything you hear and just your common sense.

The only new in this scam scheme is the use of Bitcoin as the way to pay or transfer funds. I have already heard many similar schemes where scammers are calling people in order for them to trick to do something. There is even big possibility that the operation is connected with those done in an African country. We should always be careful especially with people who just called us out of nowhere and pretending to be connected with the government.
2702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NEW Video Commercial promoting Bitcoin was just released today!! on: May 03, 2019, 02:53:36 AM
So they want to re-brand Bitcoin and turn it into a new gold. It is certainly the simplest way a marketer has to sell Bitcoin. I do not know if that is enough, but it is something that draws attention and can attract more qualified investors who could over time come to think of one or the other.

Another ad from them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ltc5mIK7Ldo

The digital gold is here and it is called as Bitcoin. The ad is very convincing but those of us here in this industry know them already...what we need is to spread the same message to more and more people so they can think and decide to be a part of the digital gold revolution. Unlike traditional platform, Bitcoin is not actually heavily promoted because there is no centralized organization dealing with its marketing department. |So it is always nice to see promotional materials focusing on Bitcoin. I am looking forward for more ads like this.
2703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can lost Bitcoins be traced? on: May 03, 2019, 02:47:06 AM
How is it possible to track lost or stolen Bitcoins? While public addresses are not directly linked to a person's identity, the Blockchain itself is widely transparent. Knowing how many Bitcoin are lost is key towards establishing a correct circulating supply of the cryptocurrency. As such, there might be a slight miscalculation on the total number of Bitcoin in circulation. If it's a lot more less than what's circulating, then I believe that Bitcoin's price should be higher due to its highly-limited supply. Nonetheless, do you think it's widely possible to track lost Bitcoins? Your thoughts about this would be highly appreciated for educational/learning purposes. Smiley

I am not expert on the technical aspects of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency for that matter but based on what I read and heard, yes all transactions in the Bitcoin ecosystem can be tracked as the records can easily be found and mined if you have the time. This is the reason why Bitcoin can be considered as transparent but also the reason why this is not so private and anonymous.
2704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be considered a Religion? on: May 03, 2019, 02:43:55 AM

Believing in something or an idea is not equivalent to a religion. Do you believe in yourself? Does it mean you are therefore a religion? Granting that when you believe in something, there can be some similarities when you are a member of a certain religion but those similarities ends in there. and not unless you are the one running your own religion, here in Bitcoin you have the chance of making some money because Bitcoin can also be considered as an investment and that is something you can never found in any religion.

This kind of shallow definition of a religion can make any membership to any club, organization, association or any group for that matter also a religion. Religion is much more than that as it involves spiritual concepts and ideas...are we spiritual here in Bitcoin? Nah, I don't think so.
2705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Traditional Payment Processors on: May 03, 2019, 02:35:47 AM

Yet, Blockchain technology is still struggling with user adoption and regulatory compliance. Nonetheless, do you believe that there's hope for Bitcoin to beat traditional payment processors or will those same payment processors adapt to the Blockchain in the future?

Bitcoin is still never perfect and there are many things that need improvement especially in the face of many challenges of the modern financial system. One, the transaction time is still not on par with the best of the world can offer but continuous research and testing on this aspect is ongoing. I guess we should always consider Bitcoin as a work in progress. There will always be obstacles and setbacks along the way but there is no question that the future belongs to cryptocurrency. Soon even traditional institutions will be coming up with their own pseudo-cryptocurrency and this can be the big testament of the effectiveness of Bitcoin. One major concern I have with Bitcoin is the power needed for its mining and confirming operation...maybe there must be ways to lessen this electric demand because remember we are supposed to be in the age where environmental concerns are valid issues the global village has to address heads-on.
2706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: does the bull market has started ?? on: May 02, 2019, 02:08:43 PM
It is right that most of the coins have raised in price than last year. And btc also raised from 3k$ to 5600$ and now stable above 5000$ since a month. So it looks like markets recovery started. But I don't think that bull market already started because any time BTC can go below 4500$ from now and we can see another blood birth of alts coin.

This is may not the bull run but we are already experiencing upward movement and in my opinion I would prefer something like this rather than a bull run which can produce so much speculations and overheating. A slow and steady growth can be what we really need as it can be easier to manage and adoption of the underlying technology is slowly rising also. Bull run can be exciting though there is no question on that and there can be more media coverage inflaming more interest and participation from the masses.
2707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: New Coins with huge ICO price on: May 02, 2019, 02:03:57 PM
Yes, I think ICO is very good because it has high selling value. But you still need to be vigilant and try checking the ICO. And if the coin has entered the exchange market, the coin will only decrease slightly. But after that the price will rise again.
I have Bought an ICO and IEO.
IEO better than because have exchange and ICO have not exchange before developer send them proposal to exchange. when customer sell all ICO bought on exchange price wiill be down on time. this happen when they developer not attention for investor for not sell and hold for along time

There is no question that IEO can better than ICO all because the whole crowdsale activity is primarily done within the exchange so there is no more need for the project to apply to an exchange except adding new ones. However, we sill also be careful because not all exchanges have good reputations. Once the necessary trading volume of the project can't be sustainable anymore the exchange may have no choice but to drop the project. ICO has already suffered irreparable damage into its reputation due to many scams sprouting like mushrooms left and right. The market is now demanding something new and better.
2708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XBY] XtraBYtes Speculation on: May 02, 2019, 01:59:04 PM
First time looking at this https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/xtrabytes
Where is it headed to ?

This is heading nowhere. In my opinion, XBY is just another of the many failed projects which is now bordering to be a "scam" unless the people behind this project do wake-up and do something about it. I got my XYB in one of the many exchanges and until now I could not move it as the exchange also do not care. I am therefore one of the many helpless victims of this project. Guys, always be careful with any project that you participate because most of these projects are just there for the sake of getting money from us.
2709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BNB accused of money laundering for terrorist and market manipulation-->DUMP? on: May 02, 2019, 01:53:52 PM
This accusation is nothing if not coming from a government agency especially the AMLC (Anti Money Landering Council)
I don't get the point on why an Exchange could launder money when they are just facilitating traders, if this accusation have a substance somehow then I'm afraid Binance will fully require traders to comply with KYC first prior accepting them, currently, they don't for 2 btc and below daily withdrawal.

I am sure that this can be floated by people connected with those governmental agencies though it can be hard to know their real motives...will it be to rattle the people behind Binance so they will submit to their wills and whims? Anyway, I am certain that Binance can weather any storm coming into its way with flying colors. I am still a believer in Binance though I am sure it is not a perfect exchange and there are things they can do more.
2710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is NEXO currently the best lending platform? How about future? on: May 02, 2019, 01:46:51 PM
Whenever I watch videos on youtube, Nexo's ads are popping out. I would like to hear someone who really used their lending service platform and explain probably in detail or summary on how's the experience using them.

The first dividend payout to NEXO Token Holders in December of 2018 was reportedly for $912,071.
well,who know about this year.
Wow that's good amount that has been distributed as dividend. That means that their company earned a lot.

I am already a signed member of this crypto-lending platform and I am watching whether this can be a serious contender and has long-term potential in this industry. I am sure this can command a big share of the current market since many players in the past just withered (hope this will not happen to Nexo also). Does anybody know how much can I loan with a cryptocurrency that I deposit with Nexo?
2711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cripto's best price perfomance in 2019 (till now) - Did u guys got one of then? on: May 02, 2019, 01:43:33 PM

There is no question that as of today BNB is making a big killing in the marketplace. People are even still expected that this can grow more within this year. Sadly, I sold my BNB when it was at the $5 level...a very sad decision which is still haunting me right now. The potential of this token is very much tied to the Binance exchange and since Binance is killing the competition the token is also flying high. Congrats to those who took the ride with BNB.
2712  Economy / Economics / Re: Craig Wright sues a podcaster for saying Craight Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto on: May 02, 2019, 10:51:36 AM

Craig Wright is a man who always love publicity and has this grand assumption that he is a very important man in this side of the universe. Maybe this suit can be the best way for him to prove of his claim to be the real Satoshi Nakamoto so that the podcaster can be wrong. Anyway, we should be glad that Craig Wright is actually contributing something for the advancement of the blockchain and cryptocurrency movement and that is being a comical relief. Good job, sir Wright...way to go, man!
2713  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Make Sure You have 2FA enabled on your exchange accounts on: May 02, 2019, 09:59:20 AM

Hackers are now really using their talents and genius in order to inflict pain to others and to gain wealth for themselves and in today's cryptocurrency-loving society they are finding a big paradise to explore and exploit. Hence, we users have the responsibility to do what we can do on our side in order to protect our digital assets which can easily gone with the wind once these evil people can gain access. We should always use 2FA in all our exchange accounts...this should already be one of the basic protection measures we should adopt.
2714  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-02-01] Square Cash App Allows All Users to Buy Bitcoin on: May 02, 2019, 09:50:00 AM

Have you ever used Square Cash app?

Service providers are right now ramping up with their offerings so as to entice more and more users to get involved with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I have not yet used Square Cash app but this is interesting and I am really curious to know if this is a good company to deal with. There is now a big demand for the same service and soon customers or users will be the real winners with this development.
2715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [2018-04-02] Russian Gazprom to use blockchain technology on: May 02, 2019, 09:44:52 AM

Gazprom is Russia-based global energy company and is the symbol of Russian wealth and influence. Gazprom is now ready to start implementing the process” of digitizing contracts using blockchain technology. Gazprom developed prototype model would allow data sharing between contract participants as well as help protect their security. Gazprom developed a prototype of a technological platform to automate the process of concluding, monitoring and executing contracts. This system also provides for automated arbitrage and calculation of payments for gas. Gazprom will begin working with some big industrial consumers to implement the automated processes.

2716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tech Savvy Student Steals $7.5 Million in Cryptocurrency on: May 02, 2019, 01:38:44 AM
Ortiz was a smart hacker and yet I don't admire him because he spent all the money with worthless things. That was too huge and he just spent it with his friends. He's too young and will be spending 10 years in prison, I pity him but I guess he should pay for what he did. That's the reason why we have to handle our mobile numbers well. Hackers could do anything by just using our personal numbers.

Such a great talent and genius can be put to use for the benefit of the cryptocurrency industry. How I wish that instead of victimizing other people, he could have put up his own fintech company offering many good services and products for the whole industry to enjoy. Anyway, he is still young and he can spent 10 years in jail sharpening his skills and I am hope this time around with legitimate activities that can make his own parents, friends and relative so proud. This is a great reminder to people of the same skills and talent to use them well...

Do you think Bitcoin being legalized will still happen for Indians?

I have no doubt that eventually the government can be coming up with its long overdue regulatory sandbox for Bitcoin and the whole cryptocurrency industry. This is a matter of time especially if crypto-leaning leaders within and without the country will show their support for this movement. Though I am sad that it is taking some time for this to happen, we have to respect the government's decision on the said matter. I am encouraging cryptocurrency enthusiasts and lovers in India to continue expressing their support for Bitcoin so that the government will eventually see the need to make it legitimate.
2718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Canada approved paying bitcoin with Bitcoin for Innisfil town on: May 02, 2019, 01:29:41 AM
Just now noticed from investinblockchain that Canada accepting bitcoin for paying Tax. This is one of most important positive news in my opinions. Accept paying tax with bitcoin means, bitcoin is fully supported by central government. I believe more country will encourage when most of rich country will start accept bitcoin officially.  Tax payer can pay tax by using Coinberry app, and it will convert bitcoin to Canadian currency.

There are now many governmental agencies in many parts of the world that are now starting to accept payments using Bitcoin and even other well-known cryptocurrencies as well. However, this does not mean that the government has already approved Bitcoin as far as its legitimacy is concerned. For these agencies, this is just another way they can provide easier ways that people can pay their obligations. However, this can be a good start and soon we can have the government take a look at ways they can support Bitcoin. I am just hoping that more taxpayers can be paying their tax with Bitcoin so these agencies can be encouraged to continue working with Bitcoin.
2719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this a good idea? on: May 02, 2019, 01:24:17 AM

There will always be a big market for t-shirt business since people of all ages can be your captive market. Here in the world of cryptocurrency, many people would love to wear something that can identify with their love for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. This is just a matter of offering attractive designs or maybe let your customers choose the design they would love to be printed on their ordered t-shirts or even other apparels. Another thing you have to focus on is the marketing...as this is the arena where even good business can fail and die. Good luck on your endeavor!
2720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The use of Crypto currencies in our country. on: May 02, 2019, 01:10:53 AM

The business environment in the Philippines as far as Bitcoin and even other cryptocurrencies is facing a bright future. We have governmental agencies who are not closing their mindset on this new development as they know that the country can eventually benefit from this rising trend. The service provider called Coins.Ph has been doing a generally good job in responding to the needs f the Filipino people. I could not think many people can be able to participate with Bitcoin without Coins.Ph. And now we also have coming competitors all making this industry here merrier and more exciting.
