1701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Exchange looking for Projects which want to make IEO on: June 05, 2019, 04:43:37 PM
Hello guys, I'm looking for new projects which want to make IEO
Telegram: @vin_code

I think you can directly talk to people who are having their introductory posts in this forum as I am sure they are also looking for any exchange (I am assuming you must be related to an exchange) where they can carry their IEOs which is now getting more popular and accepted instead of just the usual ICOs. I am just suggesting that you don't automatically work with any project without first making sure that the project is not a big scam and that the people behind the project are real and genuine, this way you are protecting your own reputation.
1702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 100 Powerful people from Blockchain on: June 05, 2019, 04:28:36 PM
Probably, this list has been updated already? I guess some of the people we have never heard about are on this list already, and they take the top positions. More than 12% of Americans own BTC, and the most powerful of them stay incognito.

I am sure this post deserves some updates as we are now in June 2019 and so many things had happened and many new personalities have surfaced into the cryptocurrency scenes and they also are deserving to be included into the list. I am actually thinking of putting up my own list but since there is already here maybe I will just go over them and see if they are still active.
1703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Documentaries (12 Of My Favorites) on: June 05, 2019, 04:13:28 PM

I love watching documentaries but have not concentrated lately with those dealing with bitcoin, blockchain and cryptocurrency in general. I am taking your list and I will watch them later. I am sure that we can all learn many things in these videos and can help us get inspired to continue on supporting the bitcoin movement. Thanks a lot of sharing this list here.
1704  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-04] Apple Embraces Bitcoin on: June 05, 2019, 04:01:03 PM

Why does the sign look like it was designed by an 8 years old? Couldn't they create something similar to this BTC? Idk, maybe it's only me but this is one of the worst Bitcoin signs I have ever seen.

The only 'good' thing about this is that the mainstream media attention for something so irrelevant makes Bitcoin at least gain some exposure.

I agree, a news about badly designed Bitcoin sign added by Apple to its icon set is better than no news at all. In today's world, with so much information around, people must be reminded of something constantly lest they forget of its existence. How many people know that Bitcoin has gained around 100% since March? Not many, I'm sure. But some of them will find that out after reading this news about Apple.

Yes, publicity is the king when it comes to marketing anything. No matter how small it might be or how irrelevant, anything that is mentioned by the media can gain some media mileage or exposure and it is for free so nobody is complaining.
1705  Other / Off-topic / Re: BiteBTC Stealing Funds? on: June 05, 2019, 03:48:15 PM

Quote

The BiteBTC team sent e-mails to traders explaining that account freezing required the verification of the origin of funds, as well as documentation confirming the ownership of blocked assets.

This is a big bullshit, they should have asked that when a member is about to open an account with them. This is obviously a ploy so that members could have a hard time in getting their assets out of the exchange. I am really hoping that soon we can have an industry-approved to deal with exchanges acting like this. This is unacceptable, disgusting and uncalled-for.  Justice must be seek and serve to the victims of BiteBTC. Truly, the exchange is now BITING the very people who did support and patronize them, as what their name says.
1706  Other / Off-topic / Re: [UK Only] Free Bitcoin + £50 cash when switching to Bulb Energy. No Exit Fees on: June 05, 2019, 03:36:56 PM
Join Bulb today via my website https://www.abitback.com/ to get £50 cash and a bonus of £10 worth of Bitcoin or Paypal funds. Not only will your gas and electric bills be reduced but Bulb will supply you with 100% renewable electric energy and 100% carbon neutral gas. The process takes 3 mins to switch, Bulb deals with any exit fees for you and if you switch, you will save, on average, 3.5 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere. So vote with your money, support renewable energy and help save the planet.

I am impressed with this project and this is what many power consumers really needs. I am just wondering what are the areas being covered by Bulb...hope it is global since I am based right now in Asia. Anything that is green and can help the Mother Earth survive is a big go for me. A very nice site by the way.

Update: Okay, I now see that this is for the UK only. I apologize for asking the obvious question. Wishing the project more patronage and success.
1707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is all this "Satoshi" drama? on: June 05, 2019, 03:10:23 PM

"If he really is, he can go onto bitcointalk.org and make a post under Satoshi’s account saying who he is. Otherwise he’s a lier. Or what? Did he forget his password?! Lier lier. And a twat."

This, just this. Or public sign message from any of his wallets. All others are impostors, attention seekers, or simply trolls.

I must admit these "news" attract a lot of views, anyone reporting on these faketoshis are sure going to get some nice amount of clicks/views.

Stupidity can always be countered by simple things and as example of this is the failure of these claimants to be the real Satoshi to move any wallet associated with the man or of course he can just sign up with the account here in this forum...and the whole cryptocurrency community will believe. But the point is that the man has no willingness to surface that is why many are bold in claiming to be the the real guy. Of course, everything here is entertainment...that is the only value I see for all of this faketoshi hullabaloo.
1708  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Telegram Question on: June 05, 2019, 02:56:26 PM

My question:
How do I check for a deleted or archived thread or does it have a recycle bin or trash? Already explored it but not sure if I missed it.
Are there any feature in Telegram about deleting account? If so, does it will also delete our message thread once they delete their account?

I don't know if their such thing as archived section exists in Telegram for deleted threads. But since you have mentioned that the user is inactive for several months now, may I know how long it is?

IIRC, accounts that have 5 months or more being inactive in Telegram will automatically be nuked and if ever you have a conversation with these inactive accounts, the message thread will be deleted.

And if you noticed, there are users which named as "Deleted Account". There are still some of it on my Telegram inbox even their account is already deleted. So I will assume that some of them are still under the 5 months period before totally disappearing.

I usually see some "Deleted Account" in my Telegram so I assumed they are removed by Telegram when already inactive for some time. And messages within these accounts are already gone with the wind with no possibility of recovery especially if one is not technically inclined.
1709  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency, KYC and Terrorism on: June 05, 2019, 02:44:44 PM
Some have speculated that terrorists have discovered a way to use the platform crypto currency to gather identities from different people from all over the world. use their identities for terrorist activities. From threads that i have seen, there are people thinking that some ICOs are used to fund terrorist acts by luring investors into investing into their companies, getting KYC in exchange of money, gather a large sum of it and then run away with big bags of bucks. IMO, these scenarios have big possibilities since there is the anonymity factor feature of crypto currency, we really do not have the knowledge as to whom and where the money will go for when it was transacted in cyberspace. what are your thoughts on this?

In the expanding world of terrorism, anything even bizarre can be possible and as for funding these people can be so creative, if ever they have used ICO projects to fund their activities I would not be shocked. However, let's make it clear that these are speculations and as such without proper and vetted evidence favoring the matter then these should remain as speculations. Let's make it clear that these people can easily get funding outside of the world of cryptocurrency and they can get information that they want without going through the KYC procedures. But am hoping that an investigation should be conducted on this matter so that we can know for sure that this industry is not being utilized by unscrupulous people including the terrorists.
1710  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to court a girl you like! on: June 05, 2019, 02:33:59 PM

Wow! You have a very elaborate and intricate way of courting a girl. Yes, many girls would love to see a man with a dog especially if the dog is really cute. However, not all have the resource and the time for this so as for me I will just connect with the girl by talking to her and then slowly befriend her. Friendship is always the best way to the heart of someone you love. By the way, congrats on your blog-type post here in the forum., please continue on posting.
1711  Other / Off-topic / Re: "Time Traveler From 2033 Gives Timeline of Future Events" [youtube video] on: June 05, 2019, 01:59:17 PM

When humans can do time travel that can be the most revolutionary thing that can ever in human history. Just imagine being able to be back to the time when you made a very bad mistake...and maybe you can correct that. Well, some might say time traveling is all about just observing. Still, the potential for this ability can be so huge...as we can now answer so many unanswered questions in our human history. We can even go back to the time when time had just started and see how the universe started. Oh yeah.

Here is another great video on time traveling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpkXwPXsflA

"Do you believe in time travel? In the last of our conspiracy theory week, we speak to Andrew Basiago who claims he participated in a CIA time travel program when he was a child and was taken back to Jerusalem when Jesus was crucified."
1712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Deceiving Rate of Bounty Campaign, New Form of Scam? on: June 05, 2019, 01:22:39 PM

A lot of bounty hunters already understood what you are explaining, that is the norm of most bounties, quoting a certain expected amount as giveaways which does not reflect the reality. Particularly I do subscribe to such, I would prefer a project with much reasonable quote and will likely be able to pay it. It is annoying seeing very new projects with not up to 200 persons in their telegram group promising huge amount in millions as as dollar worth give away where they are struggling to raise few thousands

I know but this case I think is kinda exaggerated, pricing the token 100 times the IEO to attract participants, Veil on the other hand gives at least a reasonable conversion depending on the exchange rate.  See the difference of these two bounty.

The purpose is of course get as much attention from bounty hunters so they will join the project. I am sure that the $3 is just like a very positive prediction of the token price while it is already traded in exchanges. My opinion is that this is not necessary since bounty hunters these days already how to analyze projects and deception is the last thing that one should do because it will eventually boomerang into the face of the people behind the project...including of course the bounty manager. We are not that desperate enough to go down to this level. I am glad that OP is calling our attention to this project -- P2PS -- so that this mistake can be corrected as soon as possible.

1714  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we still expect more from bitcon? on: June 05, 2019, 12:55:54 PM
Can we still expect more from bitcoin? For the past few weeks now we can see that bitcoin shifted up little bit and its more than $8000,this is really great for we have waited for a while for improvement on bitcoin.  But are we going to see more of the increase as its going or it will run around $8000 plus?

I am still a strong believer that this is just a temporary dip. But we will see how bitcoin behaves in the next few days. In case the correction can continue pushing down bitcoin then we might be in danger of returning to the bitcoin winter or bearish mode. Let's hope that eventually the bear will be catching up soon. Let's maintain the overall positive aura of the market...let's all support bitcoin by buying more. This is all just a psychology and figures, of course.
1715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India amazes me!Indian police recovered multi million scam on: June 05, 2019, 11:52:38 AM
The fact that really amazes me is how such a low rank (sorry, no offense) country is able to become one of the leading countries of cryptocurrency using whereas such big countries like Russia, US are doing nothing, except issuing the regulations and taking taxes for crypto using. Ofc there are lot of scam, and a lot of are recovered but the problem is not even that there are a lot of them, but that the government looks at these cases and, in general, with distrust even refers to the blockchain technologies themselves, which in fact do no evil to anyone. People must separate cause and effect. A blockchain is not the cause of fraud. It occurs when general market rules are not created.

I am happy to note that people in the government of India area really serious in running after scammers. Actually this is not the first time I heard about an incident where scammers are brought to justice and have them face the music of what they did. Frankly speaking, it is not that easy to run after scammers so congratulations to the Indian government for this nice achievement and may this inspire other countries to also be strong in following and running after scammers.
1716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why Tron's Sun Paid $4.57 Million Lunch? on: June 05, 2019, 11:36:20 AM

Justin Sun, the TRON & BitTorrent CEO, is on the news because of the huge amount of money he paid to have lunch opportunity with Warren Buffett. Because many are asking why he did it, here are the reasons behind such a move, according to an interview with CNBC.

3 reasons behind the bid:

1. Show of gratitude for Buffett’s inspiration
2. @GLIDEsf charity in San Francisco
3. Want to become bridge between institutional investors & crypto

Update: Justin Sun invites the founders of #Ethereum, #Litecoin, and #Binance to lunch with Warren Buffett.

So what do you think?
1717  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will be the cost of bitcoin? on: June 05, 2019, 11:08:42 AM

Actually I'm in a confusion with the fact that Bitcoin's value will be reduced or increased. Bitcoin was worth 8500 USD a few days ago, which has now fallen to a low of 7800 USD. But many are hopeful that this will increase the price of Bitcoin at the end of June. What's your opinion?

I am actually surprised that you are confused with this latest development with bitcoin. Bitcoin can go up and can go down in matters of hours because of its superb volatility...a thing which has become one of the famous landmark of this cryptocurrency. Now, don't worry about it because soon it will be back going upwards to the $9,000 to $10,000 level. You should start to be accustomed to this movement and should not be discouraged just because bitcoin can jump fast. Rather, we should enjoy the roller-coaster ride.

1718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I read 250 comments of people saying what they learned from investing in crypto on: June 05, 2019, 10:56:26 AM

Quote

Not selling when you're up 40x is literally retarded (obvious, but learned the hard way).

I also learned of this truth the hard way when I realized that it is already too late to sell certain tokens which I kept from bounties. Now, the value of them can be laughable compared at their highest in 2017 and 2018. I should have sold them when they pumped hard and get converted to either Bitcoin or Ethereum which are proven to be the most stable cryptocurrencies for me. Of course, now I know how to deal with the same situation again....next time it will definitely be SELL.
