1721  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Are You Afraid of KYC? on: June 05, 2019, 10:11:43 AM
I am not afraid of KYC but I am concerned about the security of user information, it can be used illegally for many different purposes, adversely affecting users.

Things on KYC boils down to how trustworthy and credible are the people receiving our data. Considering that we are dealing with new projects and with people whom we don't know in the real world, I am not wondering why many are sounding the bell of alarm. Had I been saying this before that there should be a platform to deal with KYC should be acceptable by all parties...so that we can easily pinpoint who is responsible for keeping the data and we can sue in case of security breach. In reality, when projects and sites imposed KYC it is hard to complain we have no choice but to follow otherwise we can be excluded.
1722  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-06-04] Apple Embraces Bitcoin on: June 05, 2019, 07:39:58 AM

Apple has finally acknowledged Bitcoin by adding a symbol to its new icon set. It appears the mass adoption movement is gaining momentum at last.

If Apple were an animal in the Bitcoin kingdom it would be a tree-dwelling sloth. Moving at an incomprehensively slow pace to join in the cryptocurrency revolution and opting instead to disrupt the credit card industry with the underwhelming Apple Card.

SO, DOES THIS MEAN APPLE IS ALL-IN ON BITCOIN? Not exactly. Not yet anyway. While its recent patent filing to the SEC eluded briefly to blockchain technology, it was far from a battle cry.

1723  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 1 Bitcoin equal to half million USD? on: June 05, 2019, 07:33:47 AM

So I was thinking. According to Google, the 2013 estimates of total m2 money supply in US was 10.5 trillion. So if I owned 1 usd today that would be a so a very small percentage of the total number, yes? But I can own 1 bitcoin today and that means I can own 0.0000048% of total btc supply.. If you think about it, 0.0000048% of total US m2 money would be 504,000 usd.. half a million So can we say that 1 Btc = $500,000? Lets discuss..

Well, if this can only be true then I would not have any problem at all if 1 bitcoin can be worth half a million dollars. However, the comparison and the conclusion may not be that right especially considering that the government has the propensity to print more paper fiat. The supply of the fiat money (dollar in this case) is not a fixed thing as they keep on printing and printing especially when there can be a big crisis on the horizon. And though we usually have the dollar equivalent of bitcoin, it is not tied into it in any way.
1724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitebtc Scam Account Disabled Don't Give My Money on: June 05, 2019, 07:03:38 AM
Seems like this information has been knowing by lots of people especially on this forum. I found some threads who discussed about Bitebtc exchange,

1. BiteBTC is scam exchange
2. A telegram group for people scammed by BiteBTC
3. BiteBTC is a scam
4. Beware of scam BiteBTC exchange
5. BiteBTC..com scam alert
6. Is BiteBTC scam exchange?

And more...

Sad and disappointed to see another cryptocurrency exchange bite the dust and just fly away as another scam. This is just another reason why we really need a strong regulation to combat people like those behind BiteBTC. This could not go on like this because we have people who are very much affected every time an exchange will just decide to stop its operation. I am sure that victims of BiteBTC are now crying for justice but there is nothing they can do but just wait in case something good will crop up and the money they lost can be returned -- something that is almost zero chance based on previous scam stories.
1725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [IEO] Hiway - Platform Explanation & IEO Announcement on: June 05, 2019, 06:48:06 AM

I love the name Hiway but i thought it has something to do with transportation but I am wrong. Based on the website of the project, the team is looking good and the organization behind has been in the business for years so even with these factors alone the project may have good chance of making it into the real and competitive marketplace. I am just wondering one thing: I saw almost similar projects in the past and they are not doing that well today...what assurances that this project will be performing differently?
1726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Harmony (ONE) on: June 05, 2019, 06:32:36 AM
Decided to gamble a little with this one yesterday. Since I've purchased it has gone up about 16%. Really not sure how long I'll keep it though. How do you guys feel about this new coin?

Had you been able to participate on its IEO you could have experience a big windfall of profits. Right now, trading it can already be risky though it has a good potential still to go for an upward movement as this is considered as a good project under the umbrella of the Binance Launchpad. Congratulations for your gains from Harmony.
1727  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price Will be 11,500 by June 2019! on: June 05, 2019, 06:10:52 AM
You got a good analysis of information. A few months ago, I stopped caring about prediction because all of were garbage and shit. But now some technical predictions brought my interest. I heard a prediction that the Bitcoin price would go to 9100-9200 USD when the price was 8100 USD! So, finally, that predictions were great! So, Bitcoin at 11K USD is very much possible in this year but I will not fix a month or time frame for it!

Bitcoin is now having a pullback and is standing around $7,700+ as I am writing this response. There are some people who are thinking that this correction may not last for days and soon bitcoin can be accelerating back to the $9,000 level although another correction might occur again...before maybe finally going beyond the $9,000 zone. Hopefully, it is still possible for bitcoin to go higher than $10,000 this month though as what you are implying predictions are jut predictions they are not guarantee of what will be and anybody even experts can easily be wrong.
1728  Economy / Exchanges / Blockport Now Bankrupt on: June 05, 2019, 05:59:52 AM

An Amsterdam-based cryptocurrency exchange is facing an uncertain future. Blockport has declared bankruptcy after its security token offering (STO) failed to meet its minimum expectations last month.

Blockport’s STO failed to reach its soft cap of €1 million ($1.13 million) in May. Shortly after, the company filed for and was declared bankrupt, according to recently found bankruptcy records.

In the 24 hours after making the announcement, Blockport’s native token, BPT, dropped in value by over 88 percent. Back in January 2018, Blockport raised over $15 million in its ICO.

I supported this project last year and at that time I saw a great potential of the platform supposed to be one of the best players in the industry and I though that the project has a good team behind it. Well, things are not doing well for the project as it is now considered as bankrupt and could not go on operating as it should be.

Now, I am wondering what happened to the $15 million it got in its ICO run and why for the mere failure to source $1.1 million it is now giving up. Something must be wrong here. I pity all of its supporters who threw their money for Blockport which can soon be gone with the wind.
1729  Other / Off-topic / Re: DeluxMine - Verified Cloud Mining Provider on: June 05, 2019, 05:47:28 AM

I visited your site and even liked your Facebook page. Now, just want to clarify something. People are telling me that cloud mining programs are just scams so why call yourself a cloud mining too when DeluxeMine is boosting of  "certified datacenters with GBps connection and full hardware availability"? Please enlighten my mind.
1730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tracking drugs or other stuff with the help of blockchain - Walmart, Carrefour on: June 05, 2019, 05:36:05 AM

This move by Walmart is an affirmation of the game-changing capacity of the blockchain to influence and transform an industry. This news must be referring to it joining MediLedger which aims to “open and decentralized network for the pharmaceutical supply chain,” designed to address the tightening regulations that govern the supply chains of drugs and medications. That said, according to the MediLedger website, network nodes are run and operated by industry participants, so it doesn’t sound entirely open and decentralized."

Whether this can just be another hype or promotional gimmick by Walmart and is not really up to anything, we can see the answer to that question maybe after Walmart can see results with the use of the MediLedger platform. Right now, it is too early to conclude anything. Let's wait and see what will happen. In case the experience of Walmart can be positive and encouraging, am sure other firms will be thinking of joining the blockchain bandwagon too.
1731  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto exchange Coinroom disappears with customers funds, Website Offline on: June 05, 2019, 05:24:43 AM

Polish crypto exchange Coinroom has disappeared along with customers' funds. Their website and all social channels are MIA as well. Ciphertrace reported that in Q1 of 2019, over 356 million dollars from cryto exchanges were stolen which were all visible losses. However in this case the total amount of funds remain unknown which ultimately means that there are even bigger losses at hand than just the 365 million which is insane. I am really disappointed to have to keep hearing about these types of exit scams. What do we do?

This is disgusting. A cryptocurrency exchange is holding a bigger share of the trust and confidence of its members and if it will just go away without a trace then this is a symptom of something wrong with the industry. There must be a solid way that the people behind this self-made heist can be brought to justice. I am not anymore wondering why there are really people who are associating our cryptocurrency industry with scams...because there are really people who are doing it. This is actually the first time I hear about this Coinroom exchange and this is the big reason why we should be careful whom to trust with our coins and tokens. Plus a big lesson to never use any exchange like a wallet. Again, we should emphasize that authorities should do everything they can to get these people behind bars and have them face the music.
1732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After two years of legal battles, The Supreme Court ruled for a crypto exchange on: June 05, 2019, 05:11:00 AM

Great News! A huge victory for the crypto community.
After two years of legal battles, the Supreme Court ruled last night that Bits of Gold will continue to hold an account at Bank Leumi (One of the largest banks in Israel)

Good news for Bits of Gold and of course this can have positive ripple effects in the cryptocurrency community of Israel (which is booming and has a good future ahead). Bits of Gold offers buying and selling services of Bitcoin and Ethereum in exchange for ILS, USD and EUR via bank transfers, cash and credit cards, that is having a good bank account to connect it to the traditional financial system can be so critical. I am sure this ruling can be a watershed in the crypto history in the country.
1733  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where do you think Bitcoin will be by the end of 2019? on: June 05, 2019, 04:53:20 AM

before I make my prediction, first look at these predictions:

Kenetic Co-Founder: Bitcoin to Trade at $30,000 by Late 2019, Regardless of Bitcoin ETF

Upcoming Supply Cut Will See Bitcoin Prices Rise Further, Brian Kelly Predicts

has an exaggerated forecast and has a prediction that can be realistic, my prediction is that we will finish 2019 with the price of  $12000

Ough, and not to mention that "time traveller" subreddit that gets trending mentions every year or so, where the guy's actually predicting much more than that.

I will say though, as unlikely as I think it is, once Bitcoin makes for its ATH again, then 30k and 50k shouldn't be too impossible to think of. Guys like Tom Lee talk about "Real" FOMO at 10k but I think it's going to get unreal at 20k, IF it happens this year (it won't).

I thought 8888 was a good end of year prediction just months ago. And now we've surpassed it.

It's interesting that you bring up the Time Traveler Reddit post. If he really came from the future, he would have known that the price hit $1000 in 2013, not $100 like he said. The price was actually sub $500 for all of 2015, rather than $1000 like he said.
With that first error, everything he says is debunked, but then he makes the second error. I can't believe anyone is taking anything past that seriously, this post was entertainment but it can't for real because he didn't get any of the dates and prices right. When the price doesn't even come close to $100k this year maybe people will finally stop bringing it up.

Seriously, the Time Traveler is all a big joke and of course just to entertain all of us for free. Now, I guess, we can expect that soon an alien can be bringing up its own prediction too of where bitcoin will be months or even years from now. Though I have no problem with many varied and many times wild predictions as they add more color and excitement to the industry, sometimes it can really get irritating and sometimes boring. Ok, I am predicting that bitcoin will be $50,550.95 before we enter 2020.

1734  Other / Off-topic / Re: Tips for Rules of Survival game please on: June 05, 2019, 04:37:15 AM
i'm a newbie on the game and I always loose Sad please help me on how to train myself first or how can it be easier for me.

All I can is that practice makes perfect and that can take time, focus and patience so I guess just hold on and never give up on your favorite game. You can also network with other players and see if they have some ideas and tips you can use. Plus Google is a field of so much information you can tap on and it is just waiting for you to do the search!  Enjoy your gaming days.
1735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Wall Street really interested in Bitcoin? on: June 05, 2019, 04:08:18 AM
I doubt this is good news. Them holding a ton of bitcoins isn't necessarily good. Imagine the amount of manipulation they can achieve with such a huge amount of bitcoins.

This can be both good news and bad news. Good news because here we have an investing group getting into bitcoin (or adding more bitcoin) and this is akin to institutional money entering bitcoin which can mean a vote of trust and confidence for bitcoin as an investment tool. They are buying bitcoin because they are seeing its great potential to make for them...profits later on. Now, when the going gets tough, they can easily dump whatever holding they have and that is when it can be a big bad news. Now, having said that, this is what an open market system is, anybody can buy anything and anybody can dispose anytime.  And we all enjoy that same freedom.
1736  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 05, 2019, 03:55:42 AM
Justin, my price if you want lunch with me is $4.7million.

I'm half price... Only $2.35 million.  Have lunch with me.   Wink

Justin Sun can eat me the whole week and I am charging nothing. But I guess the guy is only interested with an old man who is anti-Bitcoin so we are definitely out of his available options. Just donate your $2.35 to me and my charitable works.
1737  Economy / Speculation / Re: Little dip in bitcoin market, will it be recovered reach 10k on: June 05, 2019, 03:44:17 AM
Seems like selling pressure's gone down a bit in the past few hours and we're starting to climb slowly back up again after a bounce in the low $7400s. The possibility that we break through $7k is still present, but I believe we've reached a local bottom for now. 4H RSI is now oversold, Daily RSI isn't overbought anymore, and the weekly RSI has also dipped slightly under overbought levels, though there's still plenty room for a fall here. Might not be a bad idea to open a low-leverage long here.

Just what I expected. This correction may not last for many days and soon we can be back speculating if bitcoin can see the $9000 level again. This is just another repeat of its own history...and it makes bitcoin a very exciting and pulsating investment vehicle. Volatility can be a ride liken to a roller-coaster. Let's have fun, baby!
1738  Economy / Speculation / Re: Swarm Intelligence BTC Movement Predictions on: June 05, 2019, 03:33:10 AM

OP

I did not understand anything, what are people doing exactly?

They will collect individual opinions from this small group with the help of tools that use AI to attempt to predict market movement. It's a way to strengthen your opinion about what might happen. AI and the graphs have difficulty predicting variables like FOMO. Having a group of people who say their opinions can help you understand such a movement;

That can be the best and the simplest way to explain Swarm Intelligence. There is a wisdom in a group, as they say. Anyway, let's see the results of this Bitcoin prediction mechanism if it can really produce profits if followed in the actual market. Whatever opinions and ideas valid or not...those may matter or not but we are after the results. So show me the results for this, guys!
1739  Economy / Speculation / Re: Address 36png4nUpGkCrYnRXNR4PMSRFEgGadmh8S sent -25,160.31BTC to coinbase on: June 05, 2019, 03:09:17 AM

This is the move many blamed for the current correction or dip and many are crying manipulation. For me, manipulation or not, I think that is just a normal transaction and if that caused the dip then let it be. It is the right of the owner of that bitcoin to move his hoard in any way he wanted to we are out of the picture and blaming that move or even him is useless. As pointed by another member, there are transactions far bigger than that. Maybe the market is just looking for a scapegoat for the correction which was already due at that time. Anyway, let's give bitcoin a break...let's enjoy the dip...buy more bitcoin or convert any altcoins we can convert to bitcoin...this is another window opening for all of us. Always thinking of the positive side is the key.
1740  Economy / Economics / Re: would you give your fingerprint or eye scan for a fair money supply? on: June 05, 2019, 02:52:00 AM
I have never given my personal information other than National ID, I do not want to give up my personal data beyond that, especially if I have to submit fingerprint data or eye scan data.
I will not do that and especialy give it to third parties. we know that third parties are not always safe, they can just sell your personal identity or abuse it? for example if your deposit-box is locked with fingerprints or eyescan, they can rob it with the data they get, don't do it to anyone #imo

Yes, this can be the problem. Usually we don't and will not trust third-party entities to handle these sensitive data and they can just be abused like being used in tracking someone that may not agree with the agreement or can even be use as a bait for someone to do something against his own will...in other words the information gained can use to control people. It does not matter if the present people managing the system can be good or not because later then they can be replace and the risks can be too much. It is enough that we have a good system that can check people who are doing illegal things. Ideas like this should be thoroughly vetted before being implemented.
