2701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need help editing the p2pool code to add support for mincoin and bbqcoin on: May 07, 2013, 12:30:47 PM
Contact Narken on this forum, he got the most up 2 date code Smiley

His code is here but it doesn't have bbqcoin

https://github.com/narken/p2pool-altcoins/

2702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WE NEED SOME BBQ-POOLS! on: May 07, 2013, 12:01:57 PM
Will play with p2pool code later today.

I tired https://github.com/teknobasterd/p2pool-bbq

I am getting as far as:  run_p2pool.py: error: error parsing address: ValueError('address not for this net!',)

That's using --net bbqcoin

bbqcoin=math.Object(
        PARENT=networks.nets['bbqcoin'],
        SHARE_PERIOD=30, # seconds
        CHAIN_LENGTH=60*60//10, # shares
        REAL_CHAIN_LENGTH=60*60//10, # shares
        TARGET_LOOKBEHIND=200, # shares
        SPREAD=120, # blocks
        IDENTIFIER='e037d5b8c6923410'.decode('hex'),
        PREFIX='7208c1a53ef629b0'.decode('hex'),
        P2P_PORT=59333,
        MIN_TARGET=0,
        MAX_TARGET=2**256//2**20 - 1,
        PERSIST=False,
        WORKER_PORT=59332,
        BOOTSTRAP_ADDRS='alduin.cubox.me 174.58.242.26'.split(' '),
        ANNOUNCE_CHANNEL='#p2pool-alt',
        VERSION_CHECK=lambda v: True,

The IDENTIFIER and PREFIX are wrong I think, they seem to be the same as the ones for --net feathercoin.

2703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BBQCoin Pool... hit it while its low difficulty! on: May 07, 2013, 10:30:19 AM
Is there are working p2pool version for BBQ yet?
http://hackshardgaming.net:59333/

But it's not working for me eather...please let me know if it works for you.

I was after the source code so I could run up a private pool for my mining machines. All the public pools get DDoS eventually.

I need the appropriate p2pool networks.py values for BBQcoin.

2705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] a new coin based on Litecoin - CHNCoin on: May 07, 2013, 09:36:25 AM
What does everyone think regarding the prices, will they go back up?

The price is too low, it should be somewhere around 0.003-0.004BTC at the current difficulty of 40.

If the difficulty was the same as LTC then CHNcoin should be worth roughly 1/4 of LTC which would be .0075 or more if you consider that LTC is way undervalued.

However, CHNcoin is out of favor in the market place, that's why it can't reach it's true value. Not sure what the answer is.
2706  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL 6 May 2013 ASIC Update on: May 07, 2013, 08:10:28 AM
I thought people were happy with the 5GH/s product, how come that's not flowing out the door?

2707  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who all has received Jalapenos? on: May 07, 2013, 06:51:36 AM

Having an issue with BFL = trolling...
Seems to be that way. There certainly lacks serious discussion on the issues, and there is a lot of customer money at stake. ie. it's not a laughing matter, not time for trolling. BFL need to be encouraged to explain what's going on without the threads being instantly hijacked by the turbo posters on this forum.

2708  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who all has received Jalapenos? on: May 07, 2013, 06:06:25 AM
Maybe this thread should be merged with the "BFL fucks us over again" thread (page 72).

It amazes me how many people choose to troll BFL threads rather than contribute to the OP discussion about how many people have actually received BFL Jalapenos. I am trying to find out if they are still shipping or have stopped for some reason, I am not interested in pictures of chilli's or other silly pictures, and general defamation of BFL. I want to know if people are receiving product.

2709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feathercoin Client Update on: May 07, 2013, 06:01:04 AM
I reckon the difficulty re-targeting needs looking at.
The difficulty overshot, and people have stopped mining FTC to the point where the next re-target is over 10days off, which is really bad for miners, complete disincentive.

I think it should re-target every day to try and maintain 576blocks per day.

2710  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who all has received Jalapenos? on: May 07, 2013, 03:51:55 AM
Wow, this thread has really taken off since BFL started shipping on April 1st...

*tumbleweed*

*crickets*
They actually didn't start shipping on April 1st, all the did then was release a youtube video of someone testing the ASIC board. They started shipping weeks after that,  but it seems to have stopped.

2711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is still holding on to their CNC and why? on: May 07, 2013, 03:49:14 AM
The question posed by the OP doesn't make sense. All CNC that have been mined must be held by someone.

I have seen the Pool Rate dropping over the last few hours, is that the same for everyone or am I loosing some BOOTSTRAP_ADDRS?

Pool rate: 142MH/s (29% DOA+orphan) Share difficulty: 0.105

I have not noticed that, e.g. the pool from the github code linked in the previous code is at the following values for me, taken from my node at http://cnc.crabdance.com:8400/static/

Pool Rate 295MH/s (37% DOA+orphan)
Peers 6 out, 5 in

From the "root" node at http://chn.p2pool.skralg.com:8109/static/

Pool rate: 293MH/s (36% DOA+orphan)
Peers: 4 out, 11 in

Hmm only getting half those figures. It was up over 400MH/s Pool rate 6 hours ago.
I am still running Version: 11.3-16-g104a596-dirty could that be a problems?

are you using https://github.com/skralg/p2pool-feathercoin ?

No, I think I am using the version from git clone https://github.com/chrda/p2pool-chncoin.git is that a problem?

Ideally what you want during a DDoS event, is a firewall with a deny everything rule as the default, then a white list of of IP addresses that are known to have been used by registered users that you let though. Obviously people that aren't registered will not get through, but that's a small price to pay during such an event.

Some kind of site where you can go to register your IP that can't easily be done by a bot like a captcha with email confirmation as an example, could be set up for new users and people that have a dynamic IP that just changed.

2716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POLL: Who would like to see CNC on BTC-E? on: May 06, 2013, 08:12:48 AM
CNC is already on BTC-e, why the poll?

Are you serious?

Yes I am serious.

No more jalapenos?  this number is so low...

If someone has news just post it Wink

Wasn't there some post at the start of April that said BFL would be ramping up to ship 400 units per day?

2719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ChinaCoin dies in a couple of hours on: May 06, 2013, 03:45:56 AM
the issue i have with this coin is the pool options are TERRIBLE.

p2pool.. super hihg share difficulty.. 30% reject rate.. ugh

normal pools.. you mine on them for like 12 hours.. and get 20% of the coins you should

They are supply side problems, which limit the number of coins available, not a real problem, the killer issue is only one place to trade coins.

2720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][CNC][1% Fee] CNC Simple Pool [LP/Stratum] on: May 05, 2013, 02:40:11 PM
Why is everyone concerned about the 51% thing. The khore pool on novacoin has something like 66% and I'm sure coinotron has to have at least 50% of the freicoin hash.

Have you already forgotten about the 51% attack that BBQCoin had just after launch?
