any one know of price change relationships between different cryptocurrencies?
e.g. for every $1 of price change in cryptocurrency A you might expect $X change in cryptocurrency B or perhaps a percentage instead of an absolute change...
it likes like alt coins take a serious beating every time bitcoin dips. it looks like if bitcoin drops 20% litecoin drops 50%? does that seem like the case with most alt coins ? and is the reverse true as well? if bitcoin goes up 10% will alt coins typically go up more than 10%?
Nope there is no relationship like that, each coin costs a different amount of energy to mine because of difficulty, hash algorithms, and number of coins per block. Then you have the exchanges that are manipulated by bots and shrewd players with deep pockets, so they whole show is pretty random.

Does it matter what kind of JTAG programmer I get? Interested in overclocking my little single board.
Also, has anyone looked at the PCB designs? Is it possible to purchase BFL chips and manually add them to a Little Single board and up its chip count from 8 to 16?
How are you going to melt the solder?

Bitcoin was not designed to be easy for miners, it was designed to facilitate commercial transaction. Miners tend to forget this as they get wrapped up in their own little world. So do traders, as currency exchanges were never part of the Bitcoin design. Bitcoin is designed to be a pain for miners not a money tree.

auto first update seems to be working.. please check for any bugs.. seems to be working fine atm.. props to the coder binaries (mac needs updating, asking maxpower) http://www.mediafire.com/folder/3aa8ukj7v6m5d/Namecoin-qthttps://github.com/namecoin-qt/namecoin-qtplease check and "happy name registering" "There's a small issue - if you reopen the client after 12 blocks, it sends firstupdates immediately (before getting enough connections) and fails to relay the transaction. After some time it relays normally though (no user intervention is required). Maybe need to add some delay." anyone have any expired names? to make sure it doesn't show in the table (i can't find any old wallets with one) The Binary crashes on Snow Leopard. Where is the makefile.mac it's missing from the src dir?

Marked Making instead of just matching up buyers and sellers.
Most foreign exchange trading firms are market makers, and it seems to be totally lacking in the bitcoin world.

Wont the heat sinks bash into each other?
I didn't want to fill the thread with duplicate pictures. Here's a link to my post in the case design thread, with pictures of the inside: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=223680.msg2362815#msg2362815I'm more worried about no entry/exit points for the psu/usb cables.
Good point. Some spacing on the top and bottom would be needed. Or maybe a slot in the plexiglass? Also you wouldn't use plexiglass that close to electronic components, as it has a strong static charge, use something that's known to have a low static charge or anti-static coating.

Coinchoose doesn't seem to be showing the right profitability compared to other sites, it's been like that for several hours now.

I find it interesting that most of the loud voices are big into litecoin when litecoin's current anti-dust relay/mining policy is far more aggressive than anything proposed for Bitcoin. Did you even think when you started this thread? What's the title got to do with your point. I gather you are talking about litecoin not bitcoin.

Only for people that can't read, the thread is about mining at 50BTC.com not at eclipsemc.com

I wish BFL would stop shipping Jalapeno rigs until every other type of rig is shipped up to 08/22/2012. Any information on what order date the two shipped singles were at?
If you bothered to read any of their forum blogs and posts about the other models, you would know they have a team of workers on standby that are not building Jalapeno rigs, waiting to be called in to build the other models as soon as they can.

I would rather have released a working version as inevitably some people are going to see this and think they can jump on it and start using it, and others are going to be critical of my design choices and I won't be able to say "hey, it works". For the record - this is both untested hardware and non-debugged software but the advantages of allowing others to feedback and fix my mistakes appears to outweigh that of keeping it back longer until a working version is available.
My main fear is that now I'll spend most of my time supporting user problems instead of coding/testing. So - be aware, I may not respond to issues unless fixes are also provided.
Do what you think it right, gut feelings are important. If you think you would rather wait until you have tested, debugged, before releasing specific detail, then I think people will generally stick by your informed choice. Just don't feel pressured to swing one way or the other.

Ok so it's not something that's a result of say a 51% attack on CNC, it's just people pumping out different clients.
That's not a bad thing then.

Terahash is already the new Gigahash. what comes after Tera? Petahash, someone already registered that domain.

I read in the main CNC thread that the block chain may have forked into as much as 3 different paths so I thought it was worth starting a new thread to bring it to peoples attention.
I wouldn't mind a summary from someone that has looked into what actually happened, and when it happened, please if you have the time. Also any advice on what people holding CNC should do?

Sorry to dig up an oldish thread, I was just wondering if there was any progress on this?
What I am looking for is a chart over the past 6mths or so that show the price of BTC against Silver, not a live chart, just historical.

BkkCoins,
We have received Avalon sample chips. We did get about 10 K16 boards manufactured locally as well. We want to assemble one board to help with development and testing. We have resources here that can help push the project forward.
Can you upload the silk screen for the components (those nice little labels that indicate which component is to be placed where on the board)? And if possible XY data that can be fed to an SMT machine?
It's good you have samples already, trouble is that you will get the board finished and tested, then just sit there for months waiting on a real supply of chips. I guess you can mine on the prototype in the meantime to help pay overheads.

Very interesting method for making metal stencils from soda cans. I have only one question for more experienced people here: would not the soda can wall be to thin for a stencil? Average soda can wall thickness is about 0.1mm, I was under the impression that regular steel stencils are much, much thicker so you can get enough paste on the board. I prefer stencils you can see though so you can easily tell alignment and if you have missed something.

There is no rises in BTC difficulty. ASIC's are a scam, especially BFL. They have not shipped anything apart from dev units to lure more people in to scam. The rises in Network hashrate is is due to GPU miners adding more rigs and all switching to 24/7 GPU mining.
You sir are a troll, most people here know that BFL have shipped close to a thousand units, perhaps more with countless confirmations in these forums, including photos of the setups. Open your eyes not your mouth.
