Madame Alexa knows how many Bitcoin you have i will never own an alexa/google/amazon voice activated device, unless there is an actual physical switch to cut the mics out of circuit. i didnt really understand fully the ramification till the other day when i was going over with my wife how to recover my btc stack in case of my death. i was going to tell her the passphrase to my trezor (it would be written down also, this was just for discussion). but when i was going to tell the the passphrase i stopped. because while i dont own an alexa/google/amazon device, i do have a smartphone and smart watch, which have mics of course. so here i am in my own house, wondering if anything i say might go out to servers that humans can access (humans review random snips of voice data). wtf, my own home, which i have spent considerable time and money hardening both physical and electronic networks, is useless if the closed source algo that trigger sending data for no fully understood reason by the end user. btw many modern tvs have mics and web cams built in now. and IoT stuff like security cameras, some of which have mics so you can use then for intercoms, are notoriously bad at security and most will never get updates. so much the attach surfaces are pretty big. now i dont assume my phone and watch and compromised, but with the amount of money i have in btc it would be foolish to at least consider these scenarios, like any smartphone or laptop with a built in mic is powered off and put in another room when setting up wallet seed words. paranoia? sure but it is based on failings of the current tech used.

This project turned out to be one big joke, i feel ashamed that i supported it, GPUHoarder has become a crying child, no shit people are mad after waiting almost a year, live with it, you cant start crying about it when you havent given people what they paied for. Im happy i got rid of my cle 215's, but i guess ill always have my 2 cle101 on the desk reminding me not to buy shit from new starters.
Just my 2 satoshis.
as an owner of 3 acorns and a couple nests, i cant say im pleased with whats happened. however progress is being made. another stand alone miner for acorns has been released, tribus. this one is a lot more polished. and more stand alone miners are planned. as for gpu assist, seems ip rights are a part of the delay for the gpu assist miner. it has been mentioned that stand alone miners will be much more prominent than originally anticipated. partly because of lost opportunity, and partly due to the overall price of crypto. the gpu assist miner is still on for release once the ip rights are figured out. again i cant say im happy, but i knew the risks when i ordered. as in, i put in an amount i was fine with losing and kissed that money goodbye. if it works out, great. if not, my fault for backing the wrong horse.. however the market seems to be recovering, so there is a slight chance they may actually roi. which would e nice. anyone considering ordering acorns i of course suggest waiting.

I'm holding out for uploading my consciousness within the next 40 years - should I last that long.
if that could be done, and aside from some interesting philosophical questions (is it "you" or just a very good copy), that might be interesting.. for a few thousand years i suppose. as long as you (or the copy, whatever) can elect and is able to end its existence at some point. who wants an eternity of boredom? also, we would need a very good weed simulator that can be uploaded as well.

Also, today marks two weeks of being officially dry. I'm genuinely beginning to enjoy the clarity. feelsgoodman.
congrats man! i dont drink (maybe one or two on special occasions, so maybe 5 drinks a year). simply because i dont like the buzz drinking gives or id be an alky for sure. but been addicted to other stuff. one substance to the point of almost losing everything. nasty time but a good life lesson on humility and what lack of willpower can do if you let it.

Survival skills may be quite different than what you think they are.
Here are a couple examples.
A) ability to build a wood-gas engine for a vehicle B) ability to make a battery C) create a manual control for a device which had an electronic control D) device means of communication, short and long distances
Survival seems heavy on electrical and computer engineering, doesn't it?
to rebuild civilization, yes. someone able to reverse engineer a useful complex machine to the point of being able to create (with existing tools and materials) something, or more likely several somethings, to take its place will be in high demand. as well as those with medical and agricultural knowledge. anyone can make fire with some sticks. utilizing that fire beyond its obvious heat value for cooking/warmth? less are able to do that, and thats the 1st step to rebuilding.

...I just noticed your name sir...your the actual jojo69 from the Wall? gulp uhh..sir..I hate to tell you but there might have been a slight luggage malfunction that may have affected you....and several other guests I might add..
*actual veracity of the above quoted conversation is purely speculative in nature due to the fact of no reliable witnesses coming forward to submit testimony.
i like where this is going. guess the cargo hatch on my private mars surface to orbit shuttle had a malfunction. drag.

Before turning it on, put your fingers in the plug to verify that there is electricity. im not sure that wire gauge is thick enough to be safe. to me it like a possible fire hazard.

I am not saying i want to lower the blocksize now, i meant if i had to choose between the two, i would pick lower the blocksize, as i see more benefits from that, than raising the block size.
I told you my thinking behind why larger blocks will not solve the unconfirmed transaction issue with Bitcoin. It is a bandaid fix, that will need to be re-address time and time again!
We need a solution that is outside normal way of thinking, forcing transaction off chain and to layer 2 and yes the only way to do that is too keep the blocksize where it is or smaller and with the benefits that come with that, although most people will see it as a negative....
lowering the current blockchain size to either increase fees or maybe to force people to l2, as some have suggested, seems foolish. at this size and tx load we doing fine. right now we just need plans in place in case there is an onslaught of new people trying to get on board for the next fomo train. the future though? i do believe some core devs (or some lightning devs) have admitted that for lighting to work with btc well into the futures forecast of far heavier loads, the base layer needs more room just for lightning channels to open and close in a timely manner alone. bigger blocks at some point seems to be a given. but slow growth, as needed and well tested is what i would like to see. as long as the btc base layer can run on consumer/prosumer level hardware, im good. something thats needs enterprise level stuff? no thanks. full node running at home = trust

Thinking of consuming 7mg of dried mushrooms and talking to Jah and The Flying Spaghetti Monster tonight.
What could possibly go wrong ?
bring pen and paper for your trip to meet Jah and co. ask them. write down the answers and list those answers here when you get back. asking for a friend.

My GF knows I wouldn't hesitate to do that [kick her off cliff] if she suggested selling even *HER* Bitcoins. (*)
(*) After the last bubble "fiasco", I gave her permission to start *trying to convince me* above a certain (undisclosed) future price though.
heh from the beginning for many years she was always wanting me to sell btc for this and that. and i did, to a point. now, after what btc has done for us in the last few years, she is the one thats the btc hoarder. if i suggest selling btc for some reason she is like "no!! save those for later!!!!"

Investments would be taxed on a yearly basis (proposal)?
time to buy a boat, just so i can have a boating accident. Losing crypto is easy. The hard part would be how to make it magically reappear later... in a way the tax agency would accept. yeah that is the trick isnt it. im glad i can trace much of my stack directly back to the pools i was payed out at.
