2721  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Ready to Jump in Crypto. Again! (Looking for Advise) on: January 30, 2019, 09:03:52 AM
Actually you are in the right time to jump in, you have a very clear mind of the situation which not all newbies have in the market. You have asked this question about investing in crypto during the bear market which is the complete opposite of what newbies are doing if the bull market is the perfect time to jump in. If you have bought Bitcoin now or any other cryptocurrency I think what is more important is patience as people tend to exit and jump even if they just see a little red in their portfolio so I think learning how to be patient even when times are tough is the most important thing you do.
2722  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: PRIMEDICE SCAMED ME 0.1 BTC on: January 29, 2019, 06:57:16 PM
~snip~
OP probably created this account to complain against Primedice after he received his withdrawal he took off, which a lot of users do to create a stir. This thread won't be locked by him as for sure he won't be online for a long time. What a disrespectful person also he got his withdrawal and stil continued to talk shit against PD.
2723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Threats Bitcoin has survived from lindy effect on: January 29, 2019, 06:09:22 PM
Even though it doesn't show anything negative about the future price of Bitcoin I still be cautious on believing the lindy effect of BTC. This kind of prediction is mostly inaccurate as especially on things or assets with a very little fundamental value to show. Yes Bitcoin has been around for 10 years but does it mean it can be around for another 10 years? We still don't know what the future holds for BTC, we haven't seen any kind of legal progress that can catapult the security of the industry for the next 10 years, or we haven't seen any giant leaps of companies accepting BTC sa a mode of payment in their businesses.
2724  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: coinbase tax on: January 29, 2019, 04:24:06 PM
figmentofmyass is right however things get messier if the BTC lent to you will grow in terms of market value which means if it grows in market value the gain you will be receiving is taxable under capital gains tax. The whole BTC you received is not taxable only the gain or profit you will be having if you have sold it above/greater than the original value on the date you have received it from. Other things to note at is Coinbase is compliant with some governments so if you received a considerable amount of BTC consider yourself to be one of the people being reported by Coinbase for its AML compliance.
2725  Other / Meta / Re: Tracking the difference of merit circulations with Default Trust Changes on: January 29, 2019, 03:07:01 PM
Based on what suchmoon has provided I think its safe to say that the refresh on the sMerits for merit sources is the reason why there was an increase in merits given during the DT changes, it just coincides with the changes in the DT system. Yes it must also be a factor being if you want toe be on the DT list you must have a minimum number of merits as well as your voters but I think the biggest factor is the sMerit refresh that theymos has done.
2726  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: weird transaction on: January 29, 2019, 01:11:58 PM
That's a weird way to advertise their business I mean they are mostly spending nothing but if they are doing this multiple times everyday it all adds up, the transaction ID given by the OP shows that they have sent 0.00000546 BTC to 2800 addresses which is around 50$ in just one transaction, again might not be much if you are just thinking it in one transaction but if its a lot then they are spending thousands of dollars and they way they do that is they are just producing more confusion to their receivers, some of them might not even be active wallets anymore.
2727  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source application of Coolcryptovator on: January 28, 2019, 06:51:30 PM
I will like to see you in DT as well.
With QuestionAuthority removed as Merit source, we are reduced by 1000 source Merits.
When did he get removed?  Was it mentioned in a thread of its own or did I just miss it in another thread?  I'm not trying to derail this thread--and I've already lent my support to Coolcryptovator--but I don't want to make a new thread just about that.

I don't know why he got removed as a source, but I think he was far too liberal handing out merits.  It was something like 10-20 merits per post that he'd hand out, and while there may be some posts deserving of that amount I think it was way too much.

Sounds like there's an opening, then.  May the best man/woman win if Theymos decides to replace QA.  Good luck, Coolcryptovator.

Edit:
Ah yes, thank you--and to LoyceV who sent me a link via PM.
I just knew it by now as well, he was the most generous merit sender here in the forum but his action for giving away 150 merits for just posting first is really a mistake. I just wish the forum will give him another chance to prove himself maybe he won't be careless the second time around.

Anyways I am in support of Coolcryptovator being a merit source here in the forum. Not only he post great but also he is a good scam hunter in the forum, he had cleaned up the Altcoins section from various scams now.
2728  Economy / Economics / Re: Perfect example of why governments must hold Bitcoin on: January 28, 2019, 05:16:43 PM
If his BTC is worth around 1.4 Billion dollars in December 2017 his BTC would be around 242 Million dollars by now which is more than 80% of its original value. Maduro probably didn't expect that his withdrawal will be put on hold but he also knows the risk of holding his wealth on a very volatile asset. The good thing about him holding gold is that even if the Bank of England denied his withdrawal the money is still his and after a few twist and turns he might withdraw his gold in the future finally.
2729  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-1-27]Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak Declares He Sold All His BTC Holdings on: January 28, 2019, 03:24:21 PM
So what is the point of this news? Make people who are at a loss feel more bad about what they are holding? If he shut his mouth for a whole year I just wished that he shut his mouth forever, there is really no point on telling this kind of story not unless you want to make other people feel sorry for their mistakes. He talking about being "never interested in money" yet he is talking about spending his Bitcoins in a bitcoin only payment hotel and restaurant as well as selling it at its ATH says the other way around.
2730  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much Bitcoin price Expected end of this year on: January 28, 2019, 02:27:27 PM
Bitcoin does not care about investor confidence. It may not sound good but that is the truth.
LOL Bitcoin price won't even go into the bullish market or even go up if the traders has no confidence in the market. If you think Bitcoin can move up on its own then think again we are the ones creating the demand here and without us trusting the market we will see it fall. Even your expectations of Bitcoin being above 25,000$ won't be feasible if you yourself don't trust what you are holding. So if you want to see Bitcoin go up then you should be part of the people who are hodling Bitcoin until now.
2731  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Will you pay for hiding your Home/house address from the merchant on: January 28, 2019, 08:13:26 AM
There are a lot of middle men or buying services existing already and I only use it to buy something that can't be locally shipped to my country, yes there is an added benefit of not adding much more information needed to the merchant but that is not why I am using their services for. On your example I think buying medicine or anything that requires prescription must be required before you can even input an order, they are obliged to receive your info if you really need those medicines as there businesses are always on the line in one wrong move.

In my opinion I really don't care if I am handing my info to any merchant as long as they are trustworthy and has a reputable background, as I know these businesses won't be doing anything illegal with your info for their personal gain.
2732  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Must we always Preach about Bull Markets? on: January 27, 2019, 06:50:59 PM
You shouldn't even rely on what others are saying not unless you can confirm what they have predicted. These Youtube channels, blogs, news articles are only creating their predictions to generate views and traffic for them to earn, some even profit from  you by subscribing to their premium predictions. These are just businesses, they don't care if their prediction is right or wrong as long as they profit from you. Also if the industry is controlled by the government we won't be seeing any price rallies we have compared to December 2017, everything will be much more stable as they control the market.
2733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler resided in Vegas around on this forum? on: January 27, 2019, 05:32:17 PM
~snip~

I know this isn't allowed on most games. I was rather thinking about slots. I know it isn't allowed to use phone or film when you are with other person on a blackjack, roulette or poker table.
If you are thinking it doing only in slot machines then why go all that trouble if you can create your own slot machine for your online gambling casino? Trust me it would save you a lot of time and headache trying to figure out how this will be possible which I think won't probably happen.

But don't get me wrong it wouldn't only be live play. I am intending to launch a regular crypto casino but will add the live gambling feature as an addition.
If you are thinking about having live dealers in your casino then you can go for it. But you should not try to use Vegas dealers as they are already inside a casino and I don't think a Vegas casino will let you profit from their games, even if you asked them too. Also live dealers on gambling sites really don't work well especially a lot of them have a bad reputation on being rigged. Unlike most gambling games that are already pre-determined, the live dealer games won't have that kind of assurance.
2734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler resided in Vegas around on this forum? on: January 27, 2019, 04:51:11 PM
The project I am working on is that people can play any game live in Las Vegas while even being 1000 mile away from Vegas.
So to keep it straight you will just broadcast the games being played in a Las Vegas gambling casino? Well I am pretty this will be hard on you since you can't even use your phones when you are in a table with other players especially if that game has a factor on which card they are all holding. I also think this won't be legal as you need to be licensed in order to broadcast their games live which I have never seen before. There is also an issue about their privacy a lot of people going in a casino secretively which they won't like if someone sees their face being broadcasted online. You be better off improving your online gambling casino instead of venturing out on this kind of activity.
2735  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't let those spelling mistakes & poor grammar turn your post into a shitpost. on: January 27, 2019, 12:49:21 PM
I doubt that even a post without any grammatical errors but has low in substance will still be counted as a meritable post. If you look at people who are not receiving merits their posts mostly contains off topic ideas which means even if they are grammatically correct they still won't receive anything. In order for you to even receive any merits in the first place you must always be on point is what you are saying as well as it needs to be relatable in the topic, remember substance is what being looked here not the spelling.
2736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung S10 Embedded with Cryptocurrency wallet on: January 26, 2019, 09:21:04 AM
I think Samsung being a South Korean company made it possible for them to apply such crypto wallet in there mobile phone. We all know that South Korea is big for crypto and having a crypto wallet in there phone made it attractive for the South Korean market or for any people outside of the country who is interested in this kind of feature which was not available in the market for the first time. Of course the question is will we trust Samsung as a company who will  we allow one of their devices for us to store big amounts of money in? There is also a question of privacy of data, do they have access on out private keys?
2737  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Does a Legal Adviser make an ICO more "legal" and free from scams? on: January 24, 2019, 10:57:16 PM
I would rather trust an ICO who is showing their team members on videos as well as events rather than having a legal adviser listed on their ICO page. Most of the ICOs I know only upload their faces online and ends there they never show up to the public and of the things I can only think about why they are doing that is they are people with fake identity and is waiting to scam people. So if you want to build trust and reputation I would rather do events with my investor as it is the most fastest way to build trust and reputation in the market.
2738  Economy / Speculation / Re: We must work together to crash the price of all coins on: January 24, 2019, 05:12:07 PM
We're way pass December now and I didn't see any significant drop until now so I think it safe to say that OP failed on his plans. Spreading FUD this way won't work as it is not enough to influence the market as well as even if you have a group that can off load 100 BTC it is not enough for it to influence the market maybe one exchange but not all of it. Panic selling starts when I whale off loads their holdings and of course the weak hands will follow the wave so groups like this on big market cap coins won't work. Maybe if you are working on a shitcoin you can short that trash.
2739  Other / Meta / Re: Discussion about acceptable and unacceptable behavior. Community values. DT on: January 24, 2019, 04:33:03 PM

As far as I recall, referral links are permitted in the signature area.  I don't think users should be tagged for that.  Perhaps this is something forum staff could clarify?

Categorically no referral links in the body of posts, but that's arguably something better suited to being dealt with via the 'report to moderator' button.  Trust doesn't really come into it unless the site they're linking to is a ponzi scheme or something else malicious.
Of course ref links of HYIP site whether they are in a post or inside a sig code sure needs to receive a red tag. Most of the previous tags I have seen coming from sig codes of gambling sites comes with a shilling of the website encouraging them to click their sig code which of course contains their referral link. So I think shilling the gambling website also needs to be considered when it comes to tagging them or not.
2740  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-1-24]Binance Follows Major Cryptocurrency Exchanges With Launch of OTC. . on: January 24, 2019, 04:16:26 PM
I think the deeper positive effect on this move is a boost in their trustworthiness by launching an over-the-counter desk they are assuring to their clients that their company is real and that they are not hiding their true identity to them. I know their CEO is never shy with this kinds of changes but this one really differentiate them from the pack even if they are still ahead of other exchanges when it comes to daily traded volume, I'll expect their competition to follow what they are offering in order to stay competitive with what they are offering.
