1881  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Satowallet disappears with over $1 million in user's funds on: September 30, 2019, 08:09:58 PM
This is the types of scams that sends the wrong message for the government, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they completely block off any kind of cryptocurrencies in their country permanently. From what I know the Nigerian government are just starting to change their views with cryptocurrencies and they barely have started to create their own legal framework from the industry and now this scam hits them? Chances are the government will already create a "solution" without even identifying the problem first and this solution would most likely be shifting their views again and completely ban the crypto industry in its entirety.
1882  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Fiat to your bank account or gift card to buy things on Amazon? on: September 30, 2019, 06:58:18 PM
Considering the cost you will incur I think that GCs as the reward is more ideal in your position. If we are talking about international bank transfers you will just be incurring additional cost just for you to send the prize for your participants as compared to sending GCs to them where they can actually use it right aways. It is much faster and more convenient on your side that is why I think its the ideal reward for you. Aside from GCs why not also send crypto as a reward also? If we are talking about choices here it is much better compared to sending money through bank accounts since it is much cheaper and without the added legal complications from sending money to a bank account.
1883  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The most common mistakes in Blockchain — Deposit to a wrong address on: September 30, 2019, 06:13:58 PM
That's why the best way of avoiding this is actually to double if not triply check the address you are sending, even before that you must always copy and paste directly the address on where you are sending the money to as it is much easier than typing it and every wallet I know has the option to copy the whole address directly. For the newbies reading this you must be aware that copying and pasting the address isn't enough of an assurance that you have in fact the right address recently there was a clipboard virus aka the copy/paste virus where even if you copied the right address the one you will be pasting will be a different one that is why you need to be observant and see if you are sending in the right address.
1884  Other / Meta / Re: Stats question - Females in Bitcointalk? on: September 30, 2019, 04:35:59 PM
I don't think we can rely on the 4.7 males to 1 female member here as an accurate representation of gender ratios here in Bitcointalk. From what I know most of the members here doesn't even update/disclose such information in the forum. If not all members or at least most of the active ones aren't ticking their gender information then we only have a small number to work with and we aren't even adding the possibility that maybe female members here in the forum don't really want to disclose their gender here at all.
1885  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Credit Cards processor who accept crypto business on: September 30, 2019, 01:50:24 PM
I think he is simply asking what credit card companies or banks accepts crypto related business on as a payment process for their business. I got a feeling that he is aware about the news about sone particular banks cancelling and disallowing their clients' transactions once they found out it is crypto related just like how Wells Fargo did with their credit card and ecen their debit card transactions.
1886  Economy / Economics / Re: WHICH GROUP DO YOU BELONG HERE on: September 30, 2019, 10:56:38 AM
I'm on neither side. You see if you want to take advantage of every situation you cannot really be part of one group and just do a certain trade based on what you like to happen you are personally limiting yourself in the opportunities you will have in the market and by doing so you are increasing your chances of accepting more losses compared to having all the options you have. If you really want to protect your capital you will be open to cutting losses, buying on break outs, and maybe shorting and not just the one that fits in a particular group.
1887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Errol Spence Jr. Vs Manny Pacquiao on: September 29, 2019, 09:10:50 PM
This will be like the time when Pacquiao fought against Bronner and Thurman where even I as a fan think that they are both out of his league that Pacquiao is out of his prime and he will get a big beating from them, the same goes for Errol Spence Jr. I always look at Pacquiao as the underdog in all of his latest matches because of his age but time and time proves me wrong that age isn't really a factor for him at least he still is fast and that powerful punch that can deliver a knockdown. This time Spence is on a much higher level and I can't really put too much confidence that Pacquaio will still do the same on his last two fights. For me I cannot really put a final word that Pacquiao can win in this fight or if he can even keep up with Spence in the ring.
Some might think that Pacquiao is not the same as he used to be. It's true, Pacquiao is indeed a powerful boxer when he was still at his young age but as time goes pacquiao did change. Even though he is not as powerful before but experience would also be an ace in his pocket. Pacquiao can still throw powerful punches even at his age now (not as powerful when he was a bit younger as I said).

We always talk about "experience" when an older fighter is facing against a younger fighter but of course we all know Pacquiao has an advantage for that since he is a veteran in the sport and probably the oldest boxer defending and contending a title in their division. But experience cannot always be the determining factor on who will win a boxing match and it can only go so far, we still have other things to consider like stamina, speed, power, and boxing IQ everything basically comes into play and you cannot rule one out of saying just because of this he will win the fight, it doesn't really work that way and a lot of analyst got proven wrong by that way of thinking.
1888  Economy / Speculation / Re: $5,000 is the number - so get used to it. on: September 29, 2019, 08:15:46 PM
If we are talking about support and resistances here then I would beg to disagree with you since any trader who even have a drop of knowledge about TA knows that we are still on a support level if we dropped below 8,000$ already. I'm talking about the 7,900$ support level we are currently sitting on and it is still unclear if we are out of the woods yet since there is no signs that we will recover anytime soon. Even if we broke down the 7,900$ level we still have the next support level in 7,200$ and even that shows that we are still far away from the 5k level you are hoping for. I've seen members like you posting this kinds of predictions in the forum where they always pick a nice solid number without any kind of logical reasoning behind it, I don't know why you are doing that but I think it's mainly because you want to add some fuzz here.

1890  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine wants to legalize crypto (again) on: September 28, 2019, 08:44:12 PM
With that kind of move I think that the Ukrainian government did this in order to be inline with the views of what other countries part of the European Union are already doing. They wouldn't want to be left out with their other European counterparts when it comes to Crypto and Blockchain development in their country that is why they are doing this in order to be on their level, with their move that they officially labeled crypto as not illegal in their country while not having any proper regulation yet shows that they still want their citizens to enjoy the benefits from it while they are still working on the legal framework. Crypto regulation and acceptance really does work when it comes to other countries being influenced through accepting them, this helps the mass adoption we are looking.
1891  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Take advantage of this recent pull-back. on: September 28, 2019, 07:47:45 PM
The way I see it is it had been more of an advantage for us already hodling Bitcoin is that if we have shorted it by moving our position from BTC to USD and by that point we have taken loads more in the process if we have risked on selling everything. I myself didn't sold everything and went to a more reasonable sell on that situation and that is selling 50% of my holdings with how things look now I don't think it was the best move but I really didn't expect for Bitcoin to drop this low. The good thing is I have somehow participated with the recent price correction and I expect to gain some when this is over, I'm staring at profits as early as Bitcoin goes back above 8,700$ again hopefully Bitcoin starts to go bullish again in the coming days or weeks.
1892  Economy / Reputation / Re: Red Trust Senior, Hero , Legendary Member Account Buyer. on: September 26, 2019, 07:09:56 PM
He probably wanted to milk the hell out of the smerits of those red trust accounts to rank up his alts.
It looks like this is exactly what he wants to do with those accounts.

He received 20 merits from supercops who has been tagged for being an accounts seller/buyer.
supercops woke up on 5/1/2019 and on the same day he sent 20 merits to Clovier, 10 to muricide, 10 to NauticsS and 10 to Sushunt.
I am not sure if this proves anything, but it looks shady to me.

The two transactions might not be connected at all. The one where he received 20 merits from supercop might be his first attempt to buy smerits but if he wants to milk the smerits out from this sr. member+ accounts why not just buy the smerits out of it and not buy the red tagged sr. member accounts in the process. Because there is really no reason why you want to buy a red tagged account aside from spamming/spreading trash in the forum or to do a bumping service like what others have said. The smerits left with those accounts will of course come as a consolation for them and I don't think that is his main priority for this transaction.
1893  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Why Coinbase can't provide accurate tax information to millions of users on: September 26, 2019, 06:46:58 PM
Is it not enough to download your transaction history and try to sort this out yourself, or better still, keep a running count of how much in value you have put in and how much of value you have taken out.

It's helpful to only use one or two exchanges for depositing cash onto as you can calculate your losses much more easily then (and you don't have to kyc in so many places).

Yeah, I just don't get why the crypto traders and even the news are trying to put the blame on Coinbase or for any crypto exchange in that matter on why they can't compute their taxes right, after all the exchange really don't have any kind of obligation to do so. Stock brokers and Foreign Exchange brokers don't calculate your taxes for you why should you expect crypto exchanges to do it for you. It's like putting up a task that they aren't required to do so. It would be easier for the client to rely on their own calculations since they are the ones who keep all the records of their transactions if they don't do it then they better start doing so because you can't rely this crypto exchanges to give an accurate calculation for you.
1894  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Use cryptocurrency wallet now in Browser w/out any Extensions! on: September 26, 2019, 05:09:07 PM
Isn't this a bad idea as a wallet for storage? I would understand if this wallet is being used for transactions but I won't recommend it to anyone for storing purposes. It's already a bad idea on storing your coins online and putting it on a browser where anyone has access to it if its not your personal computer is already bad. I would still recommend offline desktop wallets and hardware wallets for storing purposes and use browser based and app based mobile wallets for transactions only.
1895  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Google Alerts Become New Place For Malware, Phishing And Scam Sites on: September 26, 2019, 03:49:47 PM
Adding browser extensions about malware and phishing protection can do the trick if the user barely has any understanding on browsing risky websites this is the way to go. It's free and there is no harm in trying. However extensions cannot do everything and some of these qebsites can still slip through the cracks still the best way is for users itself have a wide understanding and awareness on what sutes are safe to go through and what files are safe to be downloaded, a lot of people are always just search and click and don't go further into detail that is why they always fell victim to this kinds of websites.
1896  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org would like to use your current location on: September 26, 2019, 11:20:45 AM
We might need more than one incident to confirm that this is really happening because of cloudflare because right now we just need this to be treated as a individual problem which is only related to his phone or the app he is using. @OP haven't you experience the pop up on other websites which doesn't usually ask for your location? If it is maybe it is really related to your browser app or you might have other third party apps doing that for you in disguised of a website asking your location.
1897  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Coinsbee.com - Buy gift cards with about 50 crypto currencies! on: September 25, 2019, 09:03:50 PM
You already have a tough competition mate. Coinbase has a partnership with WeGift and it lets you buy gift cards from them with your Coinbase wallet, the only difference is you accept cryptocurrencies from any wallet. If I were you I would try to keep up with them and offer up the same or even more gift cards compared to what they are offering. You are a niche gift card provider that only accepts cryptocurrencies and your goal is to be everyone's first choice for it. You should also know that some local wallet providers also lets their users buy gift cards directly from their wallet so you should keep that in minds as well.
1898  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Is Still bad? JPMorgan Chase Traders Accused Of Market Manipulation on: September 25, 2019, 08:08:57 PM
The news is pretty misleading especially the part when they connect it to the crypto industry. JP Morgan is charged in market manipulation alright but not the crypto market but the precious metals market which is totally a different industry which the crypto industry isn't even connected or somehow affected. I don't know why news sources like this one try to connect everything so that it makes it somehow relevant to what they are trying to show but the truth is they are never transparent of what they are saying and hid a lot of facts about the real news. Here is a more detailed news about the charge filed by the DOJ towards JP Morgan and you will know how different it is, there is not even one mention of the word crypto or Bitcoin in it.
1899  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How To Use Bitcoin (Website) on: September 25, 2019, 07:03:40 PM
If you want to easily integrate the Bitcoin/Crypto payment in your website then I think Bitpay and Commerce.Coinbase is the way to go as their integration for your website is easy as having a plug in installed for it. They are also the ones who will handle the conversion of the Bitcoin payment into Fiat via bank deposits so the process is really automatic. The thing is the BTC to fiat option will be only limited to a select country and the option won't be available for everyone. Just check both of them out and see if it fits what you are looking for.

I just posted this on a different thread and I think it could help you out. Integrating Bitcoin payments is not as complicated as you think as even Bitpay or Coinbase Commerce gives you steps on how to apply it in your website after you have registered an account to them you can even check their tutorial online without even registering. Like what I have said above just check of if the payment service fits you and your website because their payment solutions might be different in your country.
1900  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bakkt on: September 25, 2019, 04:24:38 PM
Bakkt is a failed exchange launch - regulated means nothing for the Bitcoin price. And currently Bitcoin is still crashing at the moment to $8,200 after weeks of consolidation. It will probably stop around $7,700.

It's not BAKKT's fault on why Bitcoin suddey went down its our fault on believing at the hype that on its launch BTC will skyrocket up, its our fault that we believed on news sources that this could signify the next bull run for the market, its our fault on believing the news and not on the charts. BAKKT definitely has nothing to do with this and really hype is the one to blame why we believe that BAKKT is the game changer here. I hope you get the bigger picture that not all price action happens because of the news we are seeing.
