Yes, Meralco became a different team when they had a good import, so they keep winning, thus far, Mcdaniels is already 2-0 with his new team.

Mcdaniel's impact to his new team really help them to play harder, they won the game to continue the chase of having that spot for the next round, to those bettors who loves in staking with the underdog this win gives them decent amount of money. I was in the impression that SMB will also have that same result since they are the slight underdog and the game is close up to the last minute, but Mags didn't give them that chance to win this one.

No sister team for now for the SMB, as Mags doesn't want to leave the number 1 spot yet.
We know what's the capability and how McDaniels played during his stint with TNT and NLEX.
When he was in NLEX, he is my top bet for import of the year at that time but because of some personal reasons, he left the league thus, NLEX lost in the playoffs.

TBH, I know how McDaniels play and how he will dominate the league again to the point that I bet them to win against the Bay Area and he didn't fail me as they won and now, they are on a 3-game winning streak. I just don't know why other teams aren't prioritizing him to get as an import where he already proved that he can be a dominate import in the PBA. Now the bottom team Bolts without McDaniels are now at the 7th spot already with him.

SMB on the other hand is now on the verge of eliminating in the regular season as they lost against the Hotshots. I don't know but it might be shameful with the SMB organization if they will not clinch the playoffs this conference.
2742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 17, 2022, 12:42:09 AM
I saw the news about Dwight Howard is playing on the league in Taiwan. There's now a follow up news that a team there too, the GhostHawks are wanting to take Carmelo Anthony to their team.

So, it's very likely that he'll take the sign there and play for that league. I felt bad again for Melo when he's got stuck with no team want to take him just like the past seasons when he's on the same situation.

But hopefully, he gets to sign there and play against Dwight's team.

Carmelo isn't signing in that league.  If he doesn't get signed anywhere here he will just retire.  Most likely he gets picked up mid season.  His wife La La wouldn't live there she likes the LA/NY life.

Well, if there is no other option then playing in Taiwan is better than nothing. He is not that valuable anymore in this era of NBA basketball though he still has it. He can still be competitive coming from the bench.

He can showcase what he got in Taiwan, play basketball that he loves and earn a decent income.

If Howard and Carmelo becomes successful in Taiwan, it can be a trend for veteran NBA ballers that can't have a contract in NBA. The schedule there is not that hectic like NBA so even veterans can perform better there.
Carmelo is the kind of player where his ego is more important than any others so I guess I'm leaning to the fact that he will not play any lower league than NBA because that might hurt his ego. I still remember the time where he doesn't want to be a bench player but instead, he wants to be a starter (I guess it was when he was in the Thunder where it happened).

On the other hand though, what Howard did might create a domino effect for some NBA players out there who didn't have an opportunity to play again in the NBA. We might see some veteran players that can still play to play outside the US. I would not be surprised though if Melo will play not only in Taiwan but maybe other league outside US since I guess no team wants his services anymore or maybe... there might be one team who will sign him.
2743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing $350,000 because of a friend, what would you do? on: November 16, 2022, 08:15:21 AM
He particularly chose Black 15 for $10K on roulette which he could have won $350,000 but a friend took the $10K and replace a safer bet. I know this is likely not to happen in real life. But let's say it did. What would you do?
At first place, my friend doesn't have any rights to change my bet because it's my money and not his/hers.
Second, we can't predict the future and that safer bet might be a better choice. It's just that, the riskier bet won and unfortunately because of your stupid friend, you didn't win that money.

These scenarios happen rarely and TBH, I don't know if there are some stupid friends out there who will change the bet of their friend because at first place, it wasn't their own money. Maybe on the next time you will go to a casino, try to go alone so nobody will change your bets. If I'm on that situation, I'll just move on with it, but the friendship will be over Cheesy.
2744  Economy / Speculation / Re: The most stupid dip in Bitcoin's history - and why we can be happy now on: November 16, 2022, 08:02:28 AM
Just what happened last week is a quick reminder to us investors that don't keep too much money on exchanges because things like this can happen.

Stupid dip or not for some, I always like dips. We always like dips. Intelligent investors like dips for an obvious reason. We know that sentiment plays a big role towards every market. Binance not buying FTX was a positive for some but for most, it wasn't because they thought that it would be a good thing if CZ buys FTX and instead of the sentiment being positive, it went the opposite. This just shows that there are some investors who still can't understand what's happening and what can happen in the future.

Well, the dip that happened is like "another opportunity" to buy at a lower price. We all know what will happen in the next years Smiley.
2745  Economy / Economics / Re: Can our work be turned into a full-time investment? on: November 16, 2022, 07:43:55 AM
Do we need to switch our jobs to online jobs or a full-time investment in cryptocurrency? If you were fired by the company, would you still find a job you love as quickly as possible?Or you might choose to relax your mind and look for work again after a while.
Do you have better advice for work?
Online jobs are always at the top of my list, and I would rather do online jobs than a regular 9-5 job.

Luckily, I'm on a state where I love what I'm doing but at the same time, earning from it and it is enough to cover all of our expenses and at the same time, I still have a portion of my income to be used to invest into different assets. Being fired by a company isn't good especially if you sacrificed anything from it. We've seen tech companies laying off employees or freezing their job hiring because of what's happening globally.

Finding job that you love is always the choice for me although there are some people who love to go out of their comfort zone so that they will learn more that will help them in getting jobs easier in the future.
2746  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Never depend on cryptocurrency as your only source of income. on: November 15, 2022, 01:38:58 PM
You can earn in many ways that is related to crypto. If I remember correctly, there are some freelancing websites that can pay the freelancers cryptocurrencies, right?
Trading alone as your main source of job is very risky because you don't know what can happen to the market.

What your friends did was wrong because they left their main source of income to another thing that isn't sure whether they will get income from it or not. They chose to go for a quicker way to get money but riskier than a slower way to get money but more sustainable and can be for long term. On the other hand, if they are a professional trader and when I mean professional trader, they are earning more than they are losing then maybe they can make it as their income source.

TBH, I almost did what your friends did but I didn't continue because I choose to remain on my regular job because it pays me my monthly bills. My earning from signature campaign is what I'm using to invest into different assets, and it serves as my emergency funds as well (I'm converting it into fiat).
2747  Economy / Speculation / Re: I hope this Bitcoin dip won't be deeper? on: November 15, 2022, 08:08:58 AM
Based on recent trend in Bitcoin, this is the worst year in crypto history and the year is not over yet. I was talking to a friend this morning concerning the current crypto trend and guess what? This dude is loosing hope already.
I also heard that bolded text in 2018 when Bitcoin's price is on a freefall. Cheesy

When people seeing Bitcoin and crypto going down, they often use that phrase and it's pretty common already. Now with regards to investors losing hope, if you are new to the crypto space, it's normal I guess to feel this because I myself as well felt this one. I started in 2017 and in 2018, I saw the huge dip and I thought "it is over already". I always read comments in social media platforms such as "Bitcoin is dead" or "It's over for the crypto space." blah blah blah but here we are still.

What I'm trying to say is that, just trust the process. An investor can't be a millionaire overnight (unless he invested into a shitcoin and pumped miraculously, or he is a billionaire at start Cheesy). It takes time for an investor to gain profits and in Bitcoin. If you bought in 2017 at its peak and chose to hold and sold it last year, then you will end up making your money 3x. Patience is virtue like they always say, but not all patience pays off the investor so always do your own research.

And I don't even know how to encourage myself to invest more in Bitcoin, is it right for me to go ahead and buy the dip ?
Just look at the charts.

See the 2017 bull run and the 2018 "year of hell". That alone might be enough to convince yourself but if it wasn't then you might backtrack even more and look at the price of Bitcoin. I always believe that bear markets = opportunities whether it is in the stock market or crypto market or whatever market it is. As long as you invested in long term coins then you'll be fine.
2748  Economy / Economics / Re: Is recession coming actually? on: November 15, 2022, 07:35:50 AM
First of all, what is the basis of a country is in a recession?
The experts said that if a country has a negative GDPs for 2 straight quarters, then it's officially in a recession. US already had a negative GDP on both the first and the second quarter which means that they are technically in a recession. On the other hand, their president Joe Biden said that they are nowhere near the recession.

I mean whether a country is in a recession or not doesn't matter. What matters now is how people got affected by all of what's happening worldwide especially those high inflation from every country. Prices of commodities going higher, salaries can't cope up with the expenses that most people are finding a secondary source of income, employees resigning from their job either because it wasn't enough for them to sustain their daily lives or maybe they want to work from home, etc. etc. Whatever it is, people around the world are having a hard time right now and if you expect that we will be better in 2023, I expect the opposite or at least it might continue until 2023.
2749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: thank god for bringing btc back in 2018. on: November 15, 2022, 07:20:16 AM
First, the first letter of all names pertaining to God must always be in a capital letter.

Now to what you said, what's happening now is either a good thing or a bad thing for every investor. Most investor might take this as an opportunity for them to buy because Bitcoin's price went back to where it was last 2018. On the other hand, people who bought Bitcoin at a higher price or worst its peak, will be having a hard time because they will be having an impermanent loss. Well of course if that investor isn't panicking and rather choose to invest more then it isn't a bad thing for him/her.

If you have spare money to use, then better buy Bitcoin first. If you are deciding whether you want to buy things online or buy Bitcoin, maybe this is the time to skip buying the things you only want for some reasons and buy Bitcoin instead. Smiley

Bitcoin is still strong enough, I wonder if when/who can bring EOS back to 2018 ?
Forget that coin already. No updates, no developments. I'm a big fan of EOS back in 2017-2018 because of how good they are but throughout the years, they've been forgotten by investors because of lack of developments. There are many other coins out there that are way better than EOS.
2750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 15, 2022, 06:43:03 AM
How about Joel Embiid putting up the best stat line of the year so far last night. He got 59 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 blocks. A monster night. He also scored 26 of the 76ers final 27 points. He did it all while shooting 19 of 28 from the field. They’re saying it was a Wilt Chamberlin style stat line. Not bad. Just yesterday I was reading that the 76ers were trying to work a deal to get Durant to Philly…
If Embiid could put up those type of numbers on a semi regular basis, Philadelphia would be unstoppable. I'm not sure what lit a fire under his ass but definitely impressive.
If he is the lone superstar of the team, then he might do it more often, but he isn't the only one.
In our current era right now, there are only a few instances where a particular player scored 40 or even 50 in 2 consecutive games and the last one that I remember was Kyrie back when there is still that vaccination mandate.

Embiid did that stat because Harden didn't play in that game, and I don't think that he can still do that if Harden played. He can do that on a semi-regular basis and it's true that it is impressive but having a secondary offensive player is still better than doing it all alone. Still impressive for him and Garland on the other hand scored 50+ points but they lost unfortunately.
2751  Economy / Economics / Re: 2022 has been one of the most significant eventful years of crypto history. on: November 14, 2022, 08:05:03 AM
Just another year where sh*t happened. Many more might come at the remaining days of the year and for sure, there will be more next year, and next year, and next year, and next year. Tongue

I mean we are experiencing this on a yearly basis already. Projects becoming a scam, a thing which will be hyped will go down overtime and those who invested on the top will surely lose money. Hacks happening anywhere because of lack of security of the project. More and more that happened in the past and will still happen not only this year but in the future.

One thing is for sure though. People will lose money investing into wrong projects yearly while people who did thorough research are the ones who will strive. People who choose not to ride the train especially when it is at its highest peak already are the ones who will not lose money.
2752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTX exchange is going to be bankrupted. What happens to FTX Token? on: November 14, 2022, 07:52:27 AM
FTX is filing for bankruptcy. Do any Crypto masters know what will happen to FTX Token? Will it get delisted? Sad day for the crypto space.
It's the beginning of an end for FTX exchange both the main one and the FTX.us and also the end for Scam-Bankman Fried (well that's how he's being called right now after what happened).

As for FTX, delisting on different exchanges will happen. Binance already started and some other exchange will do the same. As for the token, it might still have a value but don't expect the confidence of people will return because of what happened. They might still use the token to pump and dump depending on how many exchanges it's still listed.

Too unfortunate for those who have funds in FTX exchange and for those who lost their money holding FTT token, but the one who is most affected right now is the employees who trusted SBF so much that most of their salaries are being put into FTT token. They only didn't lose their jobs, but they also lose months' worth of work because of what happened.
2753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 14, 2022, 07:38:21 AM
The Brooklyn Nets play is just too obvious. Just don't let Durant get the ball and all is well.  Grin
The Lakers won thanks to that lack of ball rotation from them. Plus, AD is superb today as he leads the team with 37 points and 18 rebounds.
This is the Lakers that I want to see, transition plays, everyone touching the ball to get their rhythm, and letting everyone contribute on both ends of the floor.
They did a great job even without Lebron, I hope this continues.

Ball rotation, not too many dribbles. I just hope that they learn on the Jazz are playing because they are playing like they are dancing, and they are in sync. Passes everywhere, that's why they are on the top when it comes to assists and if you are up against them, you will be having a hard time for them (though they lost against the Sixers tonight).

Lakers played well and maybe a thumbs up for them. As for the Nets, what they are lacking is a secondary offensive player that will help KD run the offense. Him alone isn't enough obviously and they need another one. Kyrie can't play still and Simmons being there is still helpful because he can still create a play for his team. Overall, a good win for the Lakers.

Warriors lost again unfortunately. I don't know what's happening with them at this moment. Maybe they are still experimenting but nevertheless, they lost.
2754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: November 14, 2022, 07:24:21 AM
Converge improves to 8-2 with a 7-win streak. They are now tied with Bay Area Dragons with the same record. Rain or Shine slides to 4-6.

With that win, they might be able to clinch their current spot and will have a twice-to-beat advantage in the Quarterfinals.

Their last 2 games in this elimination will be against NorthPort and Brgy. Ginebra.

They might extend their winning streak to 8 against NorthPort as I'm sure they can handle them. Although against Brgy. Ginebra, that would be tough.
The top 3 teams right now are already qualified now for the playoffs. I'm not sure though if they will maintain that spot because the 4th spot right now, Ginebra still has 5 games left. If they will be on a winning streak or best, if they will win all of those 5 games, they might take the top spot. Of course, it still depends on how the top 3 teams will play on their remaining games especially Magnolia that has 4 games left.

Converge might stay with the top 3 spot, I guess. The 2 losses of Converge are against the current top 2 teams right now and the current 4th spot, Ginebra have only 5 wins against them who has 8. On the other hand, Ginebra still has 5 games left and their way in getting the 3rd spot is to win 3 out of their 5 games (4 wins for a higher chance) and one of their wins is against Converge while Converge will lose on their remaining 2 games. A win for Converge means sure 3rd place and them securing the 3rd spot is higher if they will defeat Ginebra.

Ginebra is well-known for their strong performance when it comes to an import-conference Cup so I will not underestimate them even though Converge is on a 7-game winning streak
2755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Does Gambling/Casino Ads Help An Addicted Gambler Who Wants To Stop Gambling on: November 12, 2022, 02:32:38 PM
I was just reading some articles on the web and upon every scroll, there was this gambling ad belonging to a casino that just displays, sometimes even covering parts of the text of the article i was reading, then at some point, i began to imagine myself as a gambling addict who is struggling to quit or reduce my gambling habit, and going online and seeing Ads of different kinds from different casinos, would this Ads lure the gambler back into gambling notwithstanding that he or she is trying to stop ?

If this continues to happen again and again, do you think such a person will ever leave such a habit?
It will all come to you being a disciplined person.
I believe that a disciplined person will not fall into some ads from different gambling websites are there. Even a particular website is full of banners of gambling sites, you as a gambler if being disciplined will just simply ignore it or just exit from that website.

On the other hand, this is hard to do especially if you are an addicted gambler because they tend to have a harder time quitting on what they really want to do. Maybe not visiting too many websites will help. Spending your time into different things like playing online games might help you. As with the habit one, it will be hard because if you always see banners of gambling ads on a daily basis, you will feel the urge to gamble, and it will keep going as long as you see gambling website banners.

And another question is, if you are addicted to gambling and wants to quit but discovers that seeing gambling Ads on the internet is one of the triggers that lures you into gambling again, is it possible for you to stay away from the internet until you are sure you've completely healed from that addiction?
Staying away from the internet? It might help but the question now is can you live without internet.
For me, it isn't necessary to stay away from the internet but spend your time in other things on the internet. Watching videos, watch movies or play online games. Anything that will entertain you might do but just stay away from websites that has many ads of gambling sites.
2756  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX has been hacked, delete the app, don't go to website on: November 12, 2022, 02:03:38 PM
Many people lose money in LUNA and now many people lost money again in FTX (particularly investing into FTT token).

Hacked or whatever it is, FTX is f*cked up right now and I just hope that only few here lost their money in that exchange. I personally don't use that exchange and I'm only using Binance, but seeing investors lose money makes me sad for a bit but I guess it's normal in crypto already. Many also lost money in the past for different reasons and people just move on with it and be careful with their next investment.

I just saw a Facebook post a while ago saying that SBF is trying to escape using his private jet. No links though and no articles being released yet so maybe this isn't true. Just forget about FTX at all.
2757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 12, 2022, 10:10:20 AM
The only news I'm waiting is that Lebron James will request a trade and seriously I won't be shocked if that happens because this situation he's in is the least thing he should want, at his age, I know he still wanted to win another championship before he depart the league and he won't get that in his current situation. What I'm thinking is he might go back to Miami where Butler is.

I don't think so. Winning another championship is not an option for him anymore. I bet he just realized he cannot carry a whole team anymore. That indicates he's past his prime already though he still filling that stat sheet but totally stopped winning.
His goal now is to break the all time scoring record and be in the league as much as he can until Bronny gets in the NBA.
So, we will be expecting more resting time for LeBron as his durability also decreases due to age.
I also think that he isn't thinking of another championship anymore.
TBH, it's hard to know what he really wants to do right now. Surpassing Kareem's career in points is achievable already so let's remove it from the list. Maybe I'll agree with what you said that he just wants to play, teach these young players in the Lakers while waiting for his son Bronny to enter the NBA.

With the current era, you need at least 2-3 superstars or all-star players in order for the whole team to win. Just look the past teams who won a title. Most or probably all of them have all-star. We can say that LBJ, AD and Russ are all all-star players but that was a few years ago and now, they aren't the same anymore.

I think the best thing to do right now is to just support LBJ and the Lakers instead of bashing him because in a few years, he will retire and will not play anymore, and we might not see another Lebron James type of caliber again. Also, don't expect too much with the Lakers even you're a fan of Lebron. Smiley
2758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The bear market is your friend on: November 11, 2022, 09:07:39 AM
The Bear Market is your friend "only" if you took the opportunity and bought at the bottom.
The problem is most of the investors right now are scared. Most of the investors are afraid to buy because they believe that if they will buy at this moment, there is a high chance that it might go lower even more. What a pessimistic mindset these investors have.

Always think of this quote. "Most of the profits are being made during the bear market." Bear market is like a flash sale where people have the opportunity to buy top coins especially Bitcoin at a lower price. I'm curious why there are some investors who aren't taking the opportunity. Maybe because they don't have any spare cash to begin with but for those who have and bought at a lower price, just be patient and profit will come to you Smiley.

I'm just happy that I have an opportunity to buy Bitcoin at the lowest price possible. Smiley

It is unbelievable what Bucks players are doing even without Giannis and Kris Middleton at the same time. I mean this team is keep winning games and they are missing their 2 best players. I used to think that Bucks was great thanks to Giannis, and even believed that Giannis alone couldn't do much if Kris didn't help so much with the scoring.

Now.. well I am not so sure, apparently Bucks is already good and Giannis is of course 2 time MVP and having a third MVP season nowadays, but that doesn't mean it’s like Lebron in Cavs and when you take him they sucked type of deal, it is actually good even without their MVP caliber player and that’s an amazing thing.
It's because the Bucks are a well-rounded team that's why they are playing great at the start of the season.

They have defenders, they have rim protectors, they have a dominant big like Giannis, an army of elite three-point shooters, they also have good role players. I mean what else do you find with the Bucks right now. Maybe they need Middleton but even without him, they are very good already.

Maybe let's add the fact that they are playing well in their first games because they are up against teams that aren't that great, and some are below 500 as well. Bucks almost got in the NBA Finals last season if only they didn't lose to the Celtics and they are the defending champions at that time. There aren't that many changes in their roster either. They are good as a whole team and will be a title contender this season as well
2760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTO CRASH on: November 11, 2022, 03:56:31 AM
FUD's can be either beneficial or harmful depending on the investor.

Let's not forget that every market is heavily moved by emotions. Sentiments play a big role in every market and it's more on the crypto market. What happened in the past few days is a proof that a single negative news can wipe out your whole profits for months in only 1-2 days.

CZ is the kind of businessman that you shouldn't mess up with if you are into crypto. That's how powerful he is right now when it comes to crypto. FUD can be beneficial if the investor will take the opportunity to buy when the market is down and on the other hand, FUD can be harmful when you already holding tokens and it went down significantly but more harmful if you panicked and sold it all at a loss.
