As for the slam dunk contest, McClung is very impressive and should get this easily, but I would have loved to have Ja Morant on this, he definitely would have dropped some spectacular dunk and sure put up a better fight that Jericho Sims.
McClung saved the dunk contest after that disappointing Slam Dunk Contest last year where all of them are just like average dunkers out there.
Credits to 4 of the participants of that dunk contest. That was way better than last year. Very impressive I say.

McClung just made a history. He's the first player who came in G-league who participated in the contest and at the same time, he's the winner. It's good that the Sixers signed him a 2-way contract at least. His name will be popular throughout the whole USA for the next 48 hours after that dunk contest. Morant and other high-flyers in the NBA will not join on that one because of the prize. Cheesy Kind of ridiculous, but that's how it is.

I hope there will be a time where the NBA will put a contest there where all dunkers from around the USA will participating the Dunk Contest. I mean NBA participants can still join, but they will add more participants. Maybe 4 NBA players and 4 non-NBA players, but dunkers. Just my 2 cents.

I am actually one of those people na sobrang nag lolook forward dito sa implementation ni GCash ng GCrypto. Not to mention, this will definitely garner more people in the crypto space which is a long-term advantage for all.

Pero for a 5% transaction fee, sobrang bigat nito especially if you are someone who transacts using high amounts of cryptocurrencies.

5% transaction fee?

I think baligtad dapat Tongue

Didn’t expect this as well since the way converge played the game, i though they are in control but suddenly collapse in the last quarter, local players failed to help their import though this was a close game.

Actually, it's not that Converge collapses on the final end. It's just that NLEX just really did a great job executing their plays during the final minutes.

We can't also blame the locals for why Converge lost in that game. It's unfair to even their import do have a big production. Overall, the game was being decided on what team will successfully do the very important part of the close game, the "turning point".

Nice to see unusual teams again sitting at the 3rd and 4t spot but I do hope Converge will have a good rally this conference.
I watched the final minutes of the game and if I will find a problem as to why Converge lose, it is their import. Lots of three point attempts, he aren't passing the ball to his teammates or if there is, only once or twice. When he holds the ball, he will automatically shoot it, and the worst thing is all of that are from threes. I can't blame him though if he don't want to pass the ball to his teammates, but at least let the locals involve especially in crunch time.

Nevertheless, it was a good match and I just hope that there are many people watching it on that arena, but it wasn't Ginebra so... yeah. Cheesy I enjoyed watching it on livestream still. Converge has been on the top ever since and they are performing really well since they came into the league. SMC and MVP teams are now on the top 8 while the independent teams that is in the top 8 are ROS and Converge. Anything can happen still especially in that 6th-8th spot. There is a chance that we might see independent team clinching on top while either SMC or MVP team will be eliminated.
1904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Awareness needed, 100$ or Bitcoin??? on: February 18, 2023, 03:54:57 PM
~
Just watched the Youtube short. It seems like those 2 girls out there aren't aware of Bitcoin at all. Bitcoin is a "game" as described by one girl there? Kind of funny, but they aren't aware of Bitcoin and they don't know anything about it.

Well, not all of the people know Bitcoin, and that's a short only. There is a chance that he interviewed 100 people and 99 of them picked 1 Bitcoin, and those 2 girls out there are the ones who only choose the $100 and that's the only video that the Youtuber posted. I believe that there are some people are spreading awareness that a currency like Bitcoin is existing. Its just that there are still some people who until now, don't know what Bitcoin is or at least they've heard it, but don't have any idea or they aren't interested into it at all.
1905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful Many New Tokens on Coinmarketcap are on: February 18, 2023, 03:33:55 PM
I noticed that Recently CoinMarketCap website has been adding new Tokens without verifying the Token team, goals, and if it's legit.
Most of these currencies collapse during the first weeks of its launch.
i Remember that the website used to check every Token before publishing it to the public.
Has anyone noticed that as well?
New to it? Because most of us aren't surprised with it.

Coinmarketcap isn't like those websites out there who are checking which ICO's are legit and which are not. Coinmarketcap isn't a website where you can see which is legit project or not. Coinmarketcap is just a website for users to see the current price, and what's happening around crypto space (news). Why bothered with this one where in fact, you can see many dead projects and shitcoins currently that is being listed in Coinmarketcap.

With regards with the one you remembered, maybe that's the case in the past, but now it isn't already. As long as the token has value (or even no value at all), they will list it there.
1906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Altcoins in the AI & Big data category become more popular in 2023? on: February 18, 2023, 02:22:01 PM
and have you invested in altcoins in the AI category?

and what coins have you held or are you still reviewing for altcoins in the AI and Big data categories?
And with that, a new hype is born. Cheesy

Just a few months after the NFT hype was gone, here comes a new kind of industry that is becoming more popular in the crypto industry. The AI coin hype has just began and expect more projects that are related to AI to emerge in the next months. Some might be successful (maybe around 5 at most will be), and most of them will be just a scam coin, dead coin, and some projects will just rug pull it's customers.

Me investing in altcoins under AI category? I might try, but for short term only and will sell it as it goes up. When I will do my research, I will try and research these existing coins that are related to AI.
1907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 18, 2023, 02:16:14 PM
My honest option for Westbrook currently is that he will be a good additional to the LA Clippers, no doubt about that as the team is already good given that PG and Kawhi are there and adding Westbrook will definitely give the roster an enhancement to be a more serious playoff contender. But if ever he won't be in Clippers, he's also good to go in Miami Heat where his presence and contribution is really needed. But for Wizards and Bulls, I doubt it. But just like you guys have said, it still depends on the highest bidder, IMO.

Looking at his performance on LA make me believe that Westbrook is not suitable on team that has a lot of star player. He will just destroy the dynamics of the team especially if the star player is already comfortable to each other. He belongs to OKC and LA with both star player before but still he didn’t achieved championship despite he has lot of star player teammates. I don’t know exactly what team he is needed right now but Clippers is already perfect right now if they can maintain a healthy Kawhi and PG until the finals.
It will be different if they lost against the Suns before the All-Star break. Many will think that the Clippers needs Russ even off the bench if they lost against them, but they won on the road.

One game isn't enough for the Clippers to be judged. They have new recruits, and they need to play as a team more games in order for us to say if they are a perfect team for the playoffs already or not. Nevertheless, I still believe that Westbrook fits in the Clippers even as a bench player since that's was his role in the Lakers. OKC? Nahhh don't expect him to go back there anymore. The Thunder now are a different team compare to what it was a few years ago.

As for the Wizards and Bulls, I want to see him though with the Wizards. A reunion between Beal and Westbrook, but now they have Porzingis and Kuzma. It's like a Big 3 plus 1 in Westbrook. As for the Bulls, I guess that's why they really need him. Lonzo Ball is injured and so as Dragic. Their only PG is Coby White. I've read some articles saying that Westbrook can wait and will just sign in the off-season after his contract expires. I don't know if this is true.
No, let him play with the Heat as this team has a great potential to be a match up in the ECF. Westbrook will bring more energy on the team, him and Butler will definitely be hard to stop when they are aggressive going inside.
Looking at how badly needed these teams are, I'm also thinking that the Heat are the ones that will benefit from him the most.

2nd game now between Converge and NLEX seems that in this early quarter Converge driving the game, still have lots of time
for bettors who love to place bets during live games! Good Luck Kabayan!

It's a close game now with Converge still leading by 4 points but i do think the latter will win this one as NLEX is really struggling to make a bucket in this game though i hope that they will win this one or make it close as possible as i bet for them (NLEX +7.5 @1.95) but really not expecting that because of the way they play now.

The 53 points of Converge's import has been wasted because they didn't get the victory. It was a close match where Converge was leading most of the game, but the sequences of possessions in the final minutes of the 4th quarter was the reason why NLEX got the lead and Alas' three at the end was the dagger for the FiberXers.

Good redeem game for Selden Jr. as he scored 35 points, played very good in the paint and has 3 blocks as well, and that is after his awful performance against the Magnolia Hotshots. Alas also has 31 points, and that three of him in the dying seconds of the game was just amazing. If you watched the whole game, you will feel the intensity around it even you are just watching live. Both teams want to win, and NLEX got the last laugh. Now the NLEX and Converge are now tied with 5-2 a piece.

I also watched the first game between the Phoenix and TerraFirma, and it was all Phoenix all the way. TerraFirma can't capitalize the absence of Phoenix's import during the 2nd half. Shots aren't sinking for them. The ball aren't moving for the Dyip and mostly it was isolation plays. Just an easy win for the Fuelmasters.
1909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 18, 2023, 09:51:53 AM
With the Clippers, I think they are playing good team basketball. If Westbrook is able to play his role well, then I'm pretty sure he will be one of the biggest reasons for this team to improve in their upcoming games. It's very exciting to know where he will end up, but we have no choice now but to wait for the result.
If Clippers buys him out, having Kawhi and Paul George is going to be a good trio for the team then. Aside from them, there are other teams where he has talked with namely,

  • Wizards
  • Heat
  • Bulls

Everyone seems to agree that Clippers might be the best place for his new home. But still, that will depend on his and management's deal.

My honest option for Westbrook currently is that he will be a good additional to the LA Clippers, no doubt about that as the team is already good given that PG and Kawhi are there and adding Westbrook will definitely give the roster an enhancement to be a more serious playoff contender. But just like you guys have said, it still depends on the highest bidder, IMO.
Both the Clippers and the Heat are a good fit for Westbrook, but after I watched the Clippers defeated the Suns, I guess the Clippers might not get him because their current roster right now is better after the trade deadline. They have Mann already as their point guard though I don't see him as a good playmaker, and that's what Westbrook excels at. The Heat really needs a point guard.

1910  Economy / Economics / Re: Lebanese depositors smash up, burn Beirut banks on: February 18, 2023, 04:48:12 AM
Sri Lanka had an economic collapse due to corruption.
Nigeria also is facing cash shortage.
Now Lebanon is facing the same as Sri Lanka. Corruption at it's highest.

I just made a quick search on how much a dollar is on Lebanon, and it's a whopping 14925.37 Lebanese Pound. What's next for them? Government will do the same as what Sri Lankan leaders did where they just go out of country? Too unfortunate and with what's happening worldwide, expect more countries might experience the same. I can't remember the whole context of what I watched years ago, but it says there that the government has been a corrupt government already for a long time.

Just hoping for the best for them. Riots everywhere, rallies everywhere that results to some people losing their lives.
1911  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [NEWS] GCrypto is now available to selected users on: February 18, 2023, 02:24:54 AM

pero madalang itong magagamit but when it comes to storage, very reputable naman yong Gcash, safe naman siguro yong nabiling crypto kahit hindi natin i-transfer sa non-custodial wallet natin.

1912  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 18, 2023, 02:05:36 AM
The scary part about the Phoenix Suns is CP3 has more options for his passing skills. He himself is already a threat with that mid-range perfection skill and it can pull two defenders to open up space for either Booker, Ayton, or KD. So he can do a lob, kick it out, or just let Durant do his magic.
But I will focus on what they will do to make stops, defense must also be as strong as possible to win games.

I have to agree with that "BUT ONLY" if Chris Paul will maintain that kind of consistency in the playoffs.

Regardless of how he performed well in the season, CP3 always choked at the latter part of the playoffs out of nowhere. Blewing a series lead even way back to his Los Angeles Clippers stint up to the last playoffs with his current team, Phoenix Suns.

But who knows with Durant as the new teammate that he requested, things might change in the playoffs.
I thought I was the only one who knew the past performances of CP3 during the playoffs. JK Smiley

Well, that's true and just for the context, CP3 is the only player in NBA history to blew up 2-0 lead 5 times. He's been choking his whole playoff career. From injuries to having a bad night etc. etc. We've seen CP3 consistent on the regular season, but the problem is the playoffs.

Now that they have KD already, CP3 can just focus more on the passing if he is having a bad night. He can still shoot perimeters as well because that's almost automatic for him, but now he has many options. He's a leader. He's a floor general and the Point God. He has more options now like KD, Booker, Ayton and some role players out there. As of now, the expectations towards the Suns are very high knowing that they are the top seeded team for 2 straight season, but on the other hand, lets wait for how KD will be fitting himself on the team. We've seen all-star players that played very well in their respective teams, but when they're on the same team, they became awful. I'm not saying that it will happen to them, but don't expect too much that's what I want to say Smiley.
1913  Economy / Economics / Re: does bitcoin help in your economy? on: February 17, 2023, 03:00:42 PM
I believe that there are many people here in our country that are earning thru Bitcoins like me, and to answer that question, obviously yes.
Me paid thru Bitcoin > I convert that Bitcoin into cash > I used that cash to buy some goods > I helped the economy already.

I mean it isn't Bitcoin directly, but we're converting it into our own currency and that's what we are using to buy. I guess this is pretty obvious already right? Why OP needs to ask a question to it?

To be honest any people who invest in Bitcoin aren't losing, most people are lost because they're trader and don't want to hold it at least for four years long.
That's the problem. They don't want to hold Bitcoin for a long time and yet, they are jealous to those early adopters who are now millionaires because they've been holding their Bitcoins for nearly a decade already.

If investors want to at least have a large profit in Bitcoin, they have to hold it for a long time - say at least 5 years or longer because the longer, the better.
1914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Momentum Falters as Bitcoin Retreats to $23.6K on: February 17, 2023, 01:28:07 PM
Nothing new. Smiley
I knew that $25,000 will act as a psychological resistance before it goes down. It's on my prediction as well that's why I thought it will be and it seems like it happened... at least for now.

It's just a common retracement that's all. Now the question is, will the downward movement will continue, or it will make another bounce again and surpass $25,000 "again". Let's just observe what will be the next moves of Bitcoin and the whole crypto market. Just continue to accumulate at least.
1915  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Is Your Bitcoin market speculation for the month on: February 17, 2023, 01:02:51 PM
-This new price recovery has opened the door to for new speculations on the benchmarks Bitcoin will touch in this month of February, just as it did in January-February.
What are your markets predictions for the month?
My prediction for it's price movement this year might be wrong. Cheesy My previous prediction was $17,000-$25,000 the whole year, but looking at how Bitcoin's price movement this year, it seems like it will be slowly going upwards. It's ok if my prediction is wrong because I've made many predictions already, and most of them are wrong like what the analysts, experts, and financial gurus' predictions are. Tongue

1: Do you think BTC will break the $25k benchmarks in this month even though there will be a lot of pullback and resistance knowing fully well how close we are to 25k at the moment?
Bitcoin just crossed $25,000 just yesterday, but it only remained for around 1-2 hours. After that, it went down below again.

MACD is starting to cross again, RSI is near the overbought signal. I don't know, but there might be a chance that we might see another pump in the next few days and if that happens, my prediction is gone, but I'm ok as long as we all see Bitcoin's price going up then we are all happy... I guess.

2 What are the variables to consider in making future uptrend predictions?
Interest rates? CPI Index in US?
Anything that can affect the stock market of US will also affect the price of Bitcoin. If US stock market goes up then, so is the crypto market. I don't know if this is a factor as well, but I've seen numerous posts regarding Bitcoin halving already.
1916  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading addiction, are you coping? on: February 17, 2023, 12:31:32 PM
I read the article (even though I don't usually do), and I saw this part of it.
Quote
Symptoms of this addiction, according to Family Addiction Specialist, include constantly checking the prices online — particularly in the middle of the night.
When I saw that part, I was like "How lucky I am that I'm still not experiencing this kind of addiction still."

TBH, this is the kind of addiction that I see that has some benefits or at least there are some good things that you can get by getting addicted into it (maybe). I mean for short term traders, futures traders and those scalpers, they look at the charts constantly because a small move of the market will be huge for them especially for futures traders because a move = either profit or loss to them, but the difference is that, these traders are only trading for a few hours only. An addicted into trading is they are constantly looking at the chart and when I say constantly, maybe around once or twice every hour or 30 mins maybe.

There is a famous quote which is "Too much of anything is bad" so too much looking at the charts can really lead you to addiction. I'm a bit curious on why investors are constantly looking at the market?
1917  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If it was you on: February 17, 2023, 08:33:39 AM
A very subjective question and we have different answers for that.

Futures trading isn't for newbies out there because they might get liquidated in just one trade especially when they used a high leverage. What's good with Binance though is that, the maximum amount of leverage that you can use if you just registered into their platform is 20x. I had registered an account a few months ago and I can't use more than 20x until next month. I guess this is their way to at least minimize the risk, but overall, futures trading is very risky, and I don't recommend it for newbies.

Spot trading is more of a safer way of trading. Safer = less profit. Futures trading is very risky, but it gives way more profits than that of spot trading. I guess what's important in trading is that, you always set a stop loss because anything can happen with crypto. We've seen Bitcoin pumped days ago so the shorts for sure got liquidated because of it.

As for me, I'd go trade with futures trading because I already experienced trading in spot trading.
1918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin class with my students. on: February 17, 2023, 08:19:58 AM
Mind telling us a few pointers on what you specifically talked about? Hopefully you truly know what you're talking about, because sometimes no information is better than bad information; especially in the context of bitcoin and investing in general.

I introduced them to the concept called bitcoin, how decentralised it works, how it is different from our local currency,  I told them how bitcoin is held as a digital and electronical money, that you can store it, exchange it and use it to make payment.
A good start I guess.

Don't ever ever use the word "invest now" against them because from the looks of your students, they're like high school students, and can easily be attracted especially when it comes to money (sorry I might be judgmental on that part Cheesy). Anyway, having somebody that will guide to them is always a good. Just don't let them invest at least for now and at the same time, let them watch documentaries with regards to Bitcoin as well. That help me know more about Bitcoin when I was still new to it so I believe it will be a big help for your students as well.

Last thing, teach them how to know if it's a scam or not in the future.
1919  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Scam Alert: BKC Trading unauthorized investment scheme on: February 17, 2023, 07:57:06 AM

Experience is the best teacher ika nga nila.

Bucks though continue their winning streak with a win against the struggling Bulls.
And that's without Giannis Antetokounmpo after hurting his wrist in the first quarter, I hope he is okay.
https://www.nba.com/news/giannis-antetokounmpo-bucks-assists-record
Chicago Bulls are super struggling. The Bucks without Middleton and Giannis should be a good match for them and I even thought my bet will lose after I saw what happened to Giannis, but they are punished by Brook Lopez who stepped up his game.
It's rare to witness Lopez make a 33-point game and yet he had done it tonight against the Bulls. There's just a lack of defensive pressure and they are leaving him even knowing he is a good shooter. 3/6 in the three-point line.

With or without DeRozan the Bulls are not looking good to reach a playoff spot. That's 6th losing streak for them, and the Bucks just claimed the 12th winning streak.
Also, give credits to their point guard, Jevon Carter who started because Middleton didn't play because of injury.
He is known for being a good defender for the team, but as I watch him play especially during the 4th quarter, this player isn't been given enough credits. He's the one that's stepping up offensively if some of their players are injured. In that game, he scored 22 points with 6 assists, and he and Lopez are the ones who carried the team with the absence of Giannis and Middleton. Hope Giannis' injury isn't affect him on the All-Star game.

Looks like Phoenix is taking an L in the final game before the all star break. They could have used Durant tonight but it won’t be long now before we see his debut. Paul George had himself a game tonight that wasn’t totally reflected in the box score. He was making big plays and hitting hard shots all night. Eric Gordon looks like a great addition also.
That game destroyed my whole parlay bet. Cheesy

Anyway, it's a night for Terance Mann who scored 26 points, same with PG13, and Kawhi only scored 16 points. On the other hand, Booker only scored 19 points while CP3 scored only 5 points with 11 assists. Okogie is their leading scorer with 24 points, and after being traded and waived, it's good to see Terrence Ross finding a new team and on his debut, he scored 16 points off the bench. I also watch the game and the problem that I see with the team is their defense. Too many open shots both on three and inside the paint. Anyway, the new additions to the Clippers, Gordon, Hyland and Plumlee played very good as well.
