Posting pictures of the three stooges and "LOL INTERSCAMGO" isn't contributing anything useful to an already 80 page thread. It's dumb bullshit that I and I'm sure many others are tired of wading through to read an otherwise decent thread. Yes sure free speech, but you (and several others) are being very disruptive.

As for banning, at some point it's a far more productive use of time and energy than cleaning up after the fact.

Only person I ignore is that gem dude.
2743  Other / Meta / Re: Greek subforum in the 'Local' section on: May 23, 2012, 04:23:43 PM
FWIW there's a Greek thread, which is a good start to getting a subforum. Can't say it's active though.

That's not very convincing proof. Could be that you got a look at someone's computer, and want to use their rep to run a scam. Not saying you are, but I wouldn't get your hopes up. Only thing left for proof besides that is IPs, and that's unlikely and still isn't good proof(could be a housemate/wife/husband/coffee table).
2745  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [ANN] 700,000 Cash Deposit Locations in Brazil, Russia, USA - BitInstant on: May 23, 2012, 01:47:34 PM
Not seeing any walmarts in my deposit locations... What am I missing?

I had the same problem at first, then realized I was on the how it works page instead of the main page.
2746  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [ANN] 700,000 Cash Deposit Locations in Brazil, Russia, USA - BitInstant on: May 23, 2012, 01:32:24 PM
Well that's convenient. Nice job guys.
2747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Emergency ANN] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: May 23, 2012, 01:22:46 PM
All the intersango are cowards. They don't dare to tell everyone what happened since the very beginning. They let Zhou tong talk for them. They just chose to hide and avoid the public.

no the owner of bitcoinica told them not to talk... if they do talk they might get sued by the owner of bitcoinica...

intersango and zhou should not be the target here...

I agree, it's inevitable though.

Not talking is what gets your ass sued. Being up front and honest is a better way to avoid lawsuits.

Depends on what they're deciding to do. At first I thought it was just incompetency, but now I'm beginning to suspect it's something more, just based on how long it's been with no real news besides what zhoutong told us, and now they've shut him up.
2748  Other / Meta / Re: Impose a restriction for the lending subforum on: May 23, 2012, 12:30:03 PM
Age restriction seems like a good idea but it's still flawed. Just make a couple dozen accounts now, wait a bit, then use them sequentially, while continually making new accounts to add to the end of the list so they'll always have older accounts to work with.

Ultimately I don't think there's really anything we can do that would be effective.
2749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should I buy with $100 worth of BTC? on: May 22, 2012, 12:34:28 PM
GLBSE stock Smiley

This is probably your best bet. Mining bonds and whatnot will get you some steady returns.

Not enough incentive

Contributors of 50 BTC or more will receive VIP invitations to an inaugural beach bash held on the island.  This will be a 3-5 day event combining partying and relaxation while sleeping under the stars and enjoying the warm weather and ocean breezes.

Wait, you're saying contributors get nothing unless they donate 50+ bitcoins and then they get an invitation to a party?

Of course not, you also get the honor of buying him an island.

I wonder if it took out the humor portion of his brain.
2753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen? on: May 19, 2012, 01:29:13 AM
What will really happen is you'll restore the wallet file, and the bitcoin client will use the blockchain to verify and update the latest transactions and your current balance. Once a transaction is in the blockchain, it can't be undone.

Think of it as more like a ledger system, your wallet doesn't really contain any bitcoins, just private keys that are verified by the network as possessing those coins.

2755  Other / Meta / Re: Unjust scammer tag on: May 17, 2012, 07:29:43 PM
Moderators can download encrypted copies of the database, including private messages.

Yes we can download the encrypted database, but only the actual administrators can decrypt it, we have access just in case all other backups fail then there will something to recover from at least.

Well several others above agrees with publicly, as publicly is properly better so everyone knows it happens.

I don't really care what random people posting in the thread think. My opinion doesn't matter either, I'm just pointing out that his excuse for avoiding communication via pms is false.

Dump of posts. Doesn't include PMs or restricted forums.

Private messages are private.

Anyone can delete PMs without any trace at all. You post address in PM then delete it and say "bulanula has not paid" and I am scammed and tagged too.

Not true, once they send you a PM they cannot delete them from your account. Report to admin is also enabled in PMs so you can easily have it verified.

2759  Other / Meta / Re: Tired of the hate campaign on: May 16, 2012, 04:20:30 PM
You are probably all wondering how I avoid posting hateful things so well. The truth is I haven't actually written 4772 posts here, it's more like 10000. I just write the post and click on "Home" instead of "Send".

I do that a lot too. So much time wasted.
2760  Other / Meta / Re: Tired of the hate campaign on: May 16, 2012, 04:01:19 PM
By all accounts, the majority of people here are happy with the way the forum is moderated. If you aren't, then you are in the minority and probably would be well served with a forum of your own. We can always use more forums, there shouldn't be just one or two. If people really do want more moderation of "rude" or "mean" comments then they will use it.
