Yes you can, you just can't register.
1822  Other / Meta / Re: Ban ALLCAPZ on: July 07, 2013, 04:32:36 PM
Banned, thanks.

Smells like a setup for future 'oops the program has a virus lol!'
1824  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: brambi - Another Trojan Spreader on: July 06, 2013, 03:34:50 PM
Brambi here. I am not a scammer, my account was hacked because of my own stupidity after openin file with trojan from legitnick 4th of july scam. As I can see two of my posts in 4th july thresd were edited too. One of them consisted attacker ip adress; what tells me that it was his real adress. I got it from mtgox email when he was trying to change my mtgox password.
I am asking here to unban my account and change its email adress back to mine as it was changed to something else by hacker. please unblock my ip too so i can use forums from my pc, not from the phone what I am doing now. thanks

Pm theymos, only admin can unban people.
1825  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Watch vs. Notify on: July 05, 2013, 06:08:01 AM
Indeed, the emails were spammed. Silly me, never thought to check.

So, in effect, they are the same thing, only notify sends email and watch keeps notifications on-site... right?

Yeah, sounds right.
1826  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Watch vs. Notify on: July 05, 2013, 01:33:03 AM
Check your spam folder, they've been getting flagged as spam for some reason. Mark it as not spam and it shouldn't filter them out anymore.

Watch will add it to the watchlist, the link at the top by your profile picture, so you can keep up on threads without posting in them.
1827  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: brambi - Another Trojan Spreader on: July 05, 2013, 12:37:27 AM
Don't forget to hit report to admin on the pm if you haven't already.
1828  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Pishing scammer! legitnick! on: July 05, 2013, 12:11:17 AM
I cant believe someone fell for that

this times like, 5 billion. people these days

***USERNAME r3wd (who posted in this thread) might be a legitnick sockpuppet*****

In the thread below, username "obama" (likely another legitnick sockpuppet used in his "award" pm's), offers to buy r3wt's account:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=238432.msg2591196#msg2591196

Mods should forbid account trading.

Would be pointless, there's no way to actually enforce it.
1829  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Pishing scammer! legitnick! on: July 04, 2013, 09:04:25 AM
Banned and gave feedback to tank his trust.

In b4 he got 'hacked'.
Duh, he got phished by whoever runs the script.

nah, he's not banned. i just got a pm from him as well. i think he has been hacked though. why would an account with 536 activity start randomly scamming people.

Yes he's banned, did it myself. Sent pms are still going to be there, that's why the feedback.

He coulda been compromised, sure is convenient timing though.

1831  Other / Meta / Re: Forum is acting funny! on: July 03, 2013, 09:05:24 AM
Is maintenance currently being done, for the entire site is formatting weirdly, then corrects itself when I reload.

I believe I'm logged onto the proper URL with the green https thingy.
I think this is how the bitcointalk phishing site loads.

Oh dear, I hope Phin's account doesn't get jacked, we might have to endure off topic spam with images and goats and...oh wait  Grin.
1832  Other / Meta / Re: Banned For Trolling... on: July 02, 2013, 06:41:27 PM
The ban was the response, go away, you're just nagging. It isn't doing you any favors. Chill out and come back in a couple weeks or more. And try not to act entitled to a response.
1833  Other / Meta / Re: suggestions on improving the forum on: July 02, 2013, 03:36:20 PM
The alt-coins forum doesn't need to be nuked. It simply needs aggressive moderation to remove scamcoins.

Might as well just nuke it from orbit.
1834  Other / Meta / Re: suggestions on improving the forum on: July 02, 2013, 12:42:26 PM
Nobody cares about alt currencies child board. That was the alternative to deleting them, nothing more.

If they're gonna be so big, they should have no problem making their own forum.

1835  Other / Meta / Re: Banned For Trolling... on: July 01, 2013, 03:43:39 AM
He is clearly ban evading can we just IP ban him and move on from this.

Yeah as far as I know for most ignore functions PMs get through which I think is a daft idea, also JackJack who cares about trolls? They're harmless and sometimes actually quite funny Cheesy, while I think scammers who don't use virus' etc. shouldn't be banned but mocked the ones who try and force their way into the computer are the same as thieves and muggers. You should be concentrating on them, not going around banning people someone said something the others didn't like and if there is no PM ignore function it would be a good idea to put one up too.

Banning people for saying mean things to each other is the kind of thing the people who claim to represent us do and it's pathetic, this is why I'll only now show up on places that have properly working block functions, people have every right to say what they like about me or someone else, doesn't mean I have to read it leaving block functions off just leaves room for all sorts of harassment.

I believe those who are not INTERESTED in bitcoins/alt currencies should be banned on this forum.

I believe stupid beggers and trolls like you should be ban.
After my first ban I never begged again. And I only trolled 2 times INTENTIONALLY on this forum.

Intentions rarely count for anything, in the end it's your actions that show who you are and affect how others perceive you.
1836  Other / Meta / Re: Hannibal: account hacked? on: June 30, 2013, 07:55:55 PM
If nothing else, I banned him for the spam today, ~25 replies in 15 mins, all variations of welcome.

Thanks.
1837  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust System on: June 29, 2013, 08:31:44 PM
What kind of third parties do you mean?
This is a forum feature and should be obviously handled by mods/admins.

Sorry, reading your post with no context I thought you meant as a way to handle trades, not for the feedback.

I think the feedback system is better left decentralized, a dispute system would put it in the hands of the few. As it is now, people can look on their own to determine is feedback is genuine or not.
1838  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust System on: June 29, 2013, 08:19:08 PM
Could you guys at least think about a dispute system?

Stuff like that is better left to third parties.
1839  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: June 29, 2013, 08:14:08 PM
That's a nice troll on a forum that heavily supports a deflationary model. I bet you'll get a few bites.
1840  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Garr255 reputation on: June 29, 2013, 08:00:06 PM
I mostly agree with TaT, it's a scummy thing to do, especially how his first confession stated he was doing it because of Inaba's ultimatum. I also have to wonder if he only owned up because he was going to be outed anyway/already had been. I don't consider it theft though, fraud would probably be more accurate. He repaid it at least, so he's got that going for him.

Scammer tag? No, this what the feedback system is for, and it's working. Scumbags tend to fuck up, there are consequences sometimes.
