I vote for Mixing too, not having to rely on external mixing services for anonymity. After the Asset Exchange, that would be a killer feature that no other currency has at the moment.

Concept is not ready, hard to find good cryptographers these days...
Matthew Green and his team (Zerocoin) are very helpful with coin developers reaching them for help - I bet they will have bigger interest to see how their concept can be implemented in a PoS coin.

I will try to reach them, any developer here interested should contact me - I plan to make a bounty about this (maybe paying Zerocoin team too for helping).

Another team should investigate CoinJoin + NxT..
2762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 27, 2013, 06:12:08 PM
I would like a Dark Wallet feature where wallets would endlessly mix the coins in the background - big stakeholders are pretty much fucked up regarding anonymity and hoarding for mining purposes makes the situation even worse.

I suppose it is the other side of the NXT coin Wink

But then users would need to spend many coins as tx fees, right??
2763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 27, 2013, 06:06:15 PM
By mixing you mean making a transaction anonymous? Then yes, that would be a top-priority for me.
Yeap..
2764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 27, 2013, 06:03:17 PM
In continuation of the announcement that we r looking for more Nxt core devs, there are features we r planning to implement till block 525960 (in alphabetical order):

- Alias System (done)
- Arbitrary Messages (partially)
- Asset Exchange (done)
- Distributed Computing (concept not ready)
- Distributed Storage
- Instant Transactions (requires peer review)
- Mixing Service (concept not ready)
- Multisignatures
- Service Providers
- Shrinking
- Smart Contracts (concept not ready)
- Transparent Mining (partially)
- Two-phase Payments
- Voting System
- some non-revealed features

I'd like to get ur opinions what features should be implemented in the 1st place.
All but sooner or later mixing is essential.
Any ideas whether zerocoin is applicable with NXT?

I want opinions before I ask the professor and his team - I think they may match idealy...
2765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: uplisting NXT to btc-e? on: December 27, 2013, 03:17:24 PM
NXT/USD would be great!
2766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Trading Thread for Nxt :: Descendant of Bitcoin on: December 26, 2013, 10:40:05 PM
I am selling at 0.0001 (big amounts).
Time for more people to join!

I will do only with escrow from bybitcoin or you will send first.

I will keep a big amount of NXT and will continue to be involved heavily in the NxT community, so it is NOT of my interest to scam anyone!

Thank you.

PS: Public or PM
My offer is valid for dgex price <= 0.00015
2767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anon136's NXT Giveaway Thread (weighted by forum notoriety) on: December 26, 2013, 10:37:22 PM
Watching, sorry for not replying it was a hell of a week!
Will try to PM you asap..
2768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Test Net Thread on: December 26, 2013, 10:22:05 PM
We need to be able to 'play' with the code after it is open sourced - optimize it maybe.
Any change should be always heavily tested.

Guys I am not sure what you need (except from the genesis account) so post here if you need any help from me, I am watching it!

Regarding the account I need some time to think about it..
2769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 26, 2013, 08:13:42 PM
Can we put test funds there??

That's hard, there is no code to generate a new genesis block. One of the founders should use his account (if it's empty in the real blockchain) and send coins to ppl. NEVER USE UR REAL ACCOUNTS, test transactions can be broadcasted to the real blockchain.

Yes if one of the founders could please PM that would be great. I am one of the founders but my coins were sent to me later since I missed the time to claim them.
I am dumb, I don't understand!..

If you claimed your coins in time for the genesis block creation, they are in there and can be unlocked using your secret phrase. Since I missed that, BCNext sent me mine later so I can't use the phassphrase to get to them (my coins only existed under my control at block 100 or something). Someone who was in the Genesis block can give us their passphrase we can unlock those coins and use them on testnet. Obviously only if they have moved those coins out of the real account on the real net (since the passphrases are identical on both real and test net).
I was in the genesis block - if I create a new account and move all of my funds then you could use the old account right? I could leave the bounty amount for the test purposes but I am not sure I wanna do this yet.

Why is this essential? To fund test nodes from a genesis block account?

Regarding TESTNET:

Please anyone interested start to co-ordinate! I don't have time to manage this at all, I want a united team to fund only.

Would be 100K be sufficient? Too low? Too high?

Decide how you will co-operate and who is gonna receive the money...

What is the testnet for this time?

General testing of features as they come out. Testing anything really.

Why don't we use the testnet we used lastime for testing alias system? There are testcoins which can be issued. Cfb was responsible for the last testnet.
Sure we can! I don't know if it needs more nodes etc.
Does it need administration? By whom?
We need a team dedicated I think..
(CfB has more important tasks atm)

Ok, I have one testnet server setup at : https://162.243.81.243:6875/

can CfB generate us a test blockchain with some accounts with funds

Can you be the proxy in this effort?

Certainly! I may be more useful in this as NXT grows since I still have a full time job.....hopefully not for long Wink

The good news is that for a test net, we can prob get by with min spec VPS.
https://www.budgetvm.com/account/cart.php?a=add&pid=254

def should keep the group small and very private to keep DDOS out.

Im in for a few VPSs
Ok you two maybe need to start a new thread (post link here) and tell me what expenses will be needed for the infrastructures, how many people will be involved etc so I can make decisions on the rewards.

Also we will post this in the BOUNTYS thread too in case we can gather more funds from other stakeholders..

This will be a way to keep the price for a while @dgex in check, a severe bubble pop just before the code launch would not be good..

I have no idea how to set up a Testnet!

I can give a bounty to whoever implement it - it is of great importance to be ready after 3rd Jan every change to run it first there.

Even know it would be good.
