2761  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: March 31, 2015, 06:01:41 AM
Earned some today from a twitter campaign and from a mining pool (go go lucky S1).
2762  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: 2 AVA4.1s Won! [2200 TH] CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: March 31, 2015, 06:00:18 AM
so basicaly if one restarts the miner the dust becomes valuable duff and will be paid out???
Well, the dust has no loss of value, just it wont be paid out to anyone until I've made the 2 changes needed.
Your total dust is above the dust limit (10,000) so it would be payable in the default way I'll be using to semi-automatically handle dust bunnys - dust build up Smiley

Just think of it like an extra bonus, one day you'll wake up and there will be a few more satoshi in your wallet.
2763  Economy / Services / Re: [CAMPAIGN FULL] Rollin.io Twitter Campaign - Earn Up To .02 BTC Weekly on: March 31, 2015, 04:11:58 AM
** ANNOUNCEMENT **

Okay folks - I just finished the tweet count for the past week. Just about everyone was able to get the max
number of tweets sent so GREAT JOB! Thank you all so much for the wonderful things you've said about
Rollin.io and for your participation in the March Twitter campaign.

The final payout for the March campaign will work just as it has ever other week since it began, meaning
that I will have all payments sent within 24 hours from now - though most likely sooner rather than later.

Once all payouts have been sent, I will backup the March campaign spreadsheet and then clear it out for
the April campaign.

Thanks for a great campaign, I will not be seeking to re-enter so others can have a shot at it.  Good luck!

Thanks for letting me know, Mike. Glad you enjoyed it while you were a part of it Smiley

Final payment received, thanks again.
2764  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: March 31, 2015, 04:02:12 AM
Well if it's right in the gui like that it will be way easier to set than on my S1, thanks.

I'll keep looking for a performance summary, bound to be 9ne posted around here somewhere.

at this point in time, someone should figure out a way to undervolt and underclock these things instead of trying to overclock them.

they are near the end of their profitability.

True, but for a hobby miner that is not concerned with profit I want maximum hash rate at the most stable setting.   Cool

Changing personal message is DONE  Grin Wink

i haven't seen any reaction from you towards my application !?

since you are just not replying to me
i'm out

It's been said many times, check the Google doc if you are in or not, they don't respond to every post in the thread.
2767  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.319/GH & 0.51W/GH on: March 30, 2015, 11:15:17 PM

if you were rude to them why would they be nice to you??

also, does it work?? even if it had some dust on it, doesnt mean it was sold to someone and returned.. it could have been sitting around the warehouse or one of their control test models. (which would probably still qualify as new if it passed their tests)

Business have to be nice to customers, that's how it works if they want more customers.

Electronics do not get dusty internals from sitting around a warehouse, and no test procedure should run long enough to get the device dusty.  A dusty device = a used device, plain and simple.

Anyone willing to sell its C1?
I can pay around 100$ for it (without hoping to roi neverthless).

Best regards,
ilpirata79

This is a thread for the S5, not C1, but regardless C1s resell for like $500, I don't think you'll find one for $100.
2769  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 30, 2015, 11:06:11 PM
See if the reseller will give you the info from the original invoice like date and #,it might help but the warranty starts when he got them.

Good idea, I will try to track that info down from him, thanks.
2770  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: March 30, 2015, 11:02:20 PM
Would someone be able to save me 400+ pages of this thread and point me to S3+ overclocking directions?  I'm assuming you have to ssh in like the S1?

Also, if there are any posts showing various frequencies and associated hash and error rates I'd appreciate seeing that as well.

Thank you.
2771  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: March 30, 2015, 08:20:43 PM
Pool luck is just that and, theoretically, not influenced by hash speeds / rates.
Call it what you want, it's still just math.  There is no such thing as "pool luck", in fact there's no such thing as "luck" at all, it's something humans made up.  A pool may "seem lucky" from time to time, but that's just math at work.  You can check all the bitcoin code and you won't find luck in there anywhere, but you will find lots of math.

Maths may be the basis of the blockchain / algorithm, but luck decides determines who finds (and reports to the blockchain) "the block" first.
Nope, no luck in play there either.  Chance determines who reports first.  You may call the finder "lucky", but luck had nothing to do with it (since it doesn't exist).
2772  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: March 30, 2015, 07:59:54 PM

I know th theory is "luck" evens out over the long term, but I am begining to believe luck increases the higher the pool hash-rate, and that does not seem to even out in the short to medium term.

That's not luck increasing, that's the result of higher hash rates.  Of course a pool with high hash is going to find more blocks, that's math, not luck.
2773  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New Diff thread Mar 22 to Apr. 5 not ready for prime time on: March 30, 2015, 06:50:46 PM

Now, that being said, if this speculation is true, how will that affect us in the near term?  Obviously if they're shipping out another 30PH or so worth of gear we'll see upwards of a 10% diff adjustment going when it's powered on, if it's meant to be new equipment.  If a good portion of it is to be able to replace and retire older, more inefficient hardware, then the diff adjustment would be a little less and even out to probably 4-7% given a 30-50% replacement rate.

I have a feeling it's mostly the latter, replacing old gear.  I think you might be onto something about that initial spike in relation to the S5 batch, that would explain it.  With summer in the north coming up hopefully difficulty will slow down a bit.

2775  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 30, 2015, 06:33:06 PM
Bitmain,

I think need to RMA one of my U3s, it has stopped hashing all together.  I came home from work yesterday and it was zombie (which is nothing new) but this time nothing I can do will get it to work again.  I've zadig and restarted several times, plugged and unplugged, but when you plug the USB in the one red power led comes on, then the hashing red led flashes a few times and that's it, the hashing led never goes solid.  cgminer does not ever recognize it being plugged in (but it does give an error when I unplug it).
If you didn't buy it from Bitmain you need to RMA it where you bought it. Bitmain will not RMA it.

Bought from Amazon and the seller will not accept for exchange because he doesn't have them any more.

If you are having problem with your U3, please PM us.

or you can return the U3 to the following address in the original box, and the replacement will be send to you from the factory

Bitmain Warranty
3700 Quebec St.
Unit 100-239
Denver, Colorado 80207

Please include the purchase receipt from where you purchased it from.

Maybe I'll PM them...

Congratulations to 1CJV5SLxQcHRMswuFhWWbMGYWmALwdCoqK with only 550GH !!!

Wow, that's great!  That's about how much hash power I have, and what I'm hoping for some day, a lucky strike.  Cool

Congratulations!

That now makes 30 blocks solved. Everyone, mine on!

Super exciting, here's to the next one!

Thanks for the recent updates and upgrades, really digging this pool even more now.  Hitting a few blocks always helps, too.  Just picked up an S3+ that will also be pointed here as soon as it arrives.
