Congrats on the solo solve!

Looks like he still has over 600TH going, not a small rental.
1862  Other / Archival / Re: July 11th to July 25th diff thread. Picks are now closed. on: July 24, 2015, 06:21:07 PM
Price is jumping up! 286 right now on coinbase.

Almost 12 hours later and still over $287, wonder if we'll see $300 this weekend?

Well obviously Kano fixed the pool code, right?  Roll Eyes

Hopefully some/most/all of the hash that came to bust that block stays on this pool.

Hey could you add support for S5 like you did for s3? Roll Eyes Smiley Grin

If you pay for it I bet they'd be happy to.  Tongue
1865  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: What is the best router to use to mine bitcoin with Time Warner Cable internet on: July 23, 2015, 11:32:52 PM
what is you time warner router address?  192.168.0.1  or 192.168.1.1?

if you have  a 0.1   you need your miner to have 0.xx       my guess is your router has a 0.1 ending and the miner has 1.99 or 1.something

Wht he said, I have TWC

x2

It doesn't matter who your ISP is, you have to know some IP address basics to get a miner working.

Change the IP address of your computer to match that of your miner, log into miner, change miner IP address to match your home network, and then change back the IP address on your computer and you're good to go.
1866  Economy / Lending / Re: Good day I need an urgent loan of 3.33 BTC. on: July 23, 2015, 11:29:50 PM
Never mind the site, the OP himself is sketchy.

Newbies asking for 0 collateral loans...  Roll Eyes

Fix your damn house yourself.

If you completely ignore this sticky and make a loan request with no collateral, without having massive trust on the forum, the chances of you getting negative trusted feedback and therefore having a Trade with Extreme Caution tag is almost 100%.

Call we officially call the ASIC boom over?  I think so, ASIC Boom RIP 2013 - 2015.

We've defiantly reached a plateau, haven't been in territory like this since mid-2011 thru begin of 2013.  Where do we go from here?  Realistically I don't know how much bigger the network can grow, especially with the next halving right around the corner.  I think the network becomes more efficient, but not much larger than ~400PH/s.

lol my hash with new firmware is 2,16 gh/s HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh

Reset it a couple times, sometimes my machines come up from a restart barely hashing for some reason.
1869  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Solo Mining on an S3 with 51.1 Difficulty - here we go! on: July 23, 2015, 05:36:13 PM
So here goes. For the next YEAR I'll be solo mininng with an old S3 (actually have already been for a couple of weeks) running about 418 - 450ghs (seasonally adjusted). As of today the best share is 1,816,484,083. Only 49,000,000,000 off! LOL!

I turned off my miners for the summer except a few usb sticks and one S3+ which I solo mine.  My best share on the S3+ so far is about what you have there, 1.8G.  Good luck!

Code:
{"hashrate1m": "534G", "hashrate5m": "491G", "hashrate1hr": "510G", "hashrate1d": "484G", "hashrate7d": "439G", "lastupdate": 1437672803, "workers": 1, "bestshare": 243605588.35215861}

if your mobile phone android you can download alien faucet on google play store. i earn many satoshi using that's faucet

I've used bitcoin alien faucet as well, it's a fun faucet and pays decently.

That same app dev also makes one call Free Bitcoin.  It's not a game like the alien one, but you can earn a few thousand satoshi a day with it.

At some point don't we have to cut our losses and simply assume that there's something wrong with the pool and bail? I've already shutdown my less efficient miners because of this bad luck.

I'd hate to lose my shares that I've built up during this time but I simply can't run my gear with no revenue incoming. I hate to think that I can't support small pools but the reality is... I can't justify (under any circumstances) an entire week without finding a block.  Sad
I would agree with your assessment of shutting down less efficient miners during a difficult block, but don't get crazy and assume that there's something wrong with the pool just because it's stuck on a bad luck block.  Look at the Block Statistics on the web page.  The last 10 blocks were super lucky!  The pendulum swings both ways, and the history of this pool shows that there are more good luck block than bad luck.

It's a conundrum that many people don't like small pools, but if more people supported this pool then it wouldn't be "small".

You post nonsense for the simple and selfish persuits of your signature campaign. On a good day I'd call that signature campaign trolling, but I'd be feeding the troll in you to troll even more. I call you what I perceive you to be from your posts, and you are a pathetic troll (and so what if I can't quote more than one post, if at all ... it's a troll's toolkit).
Wow, how original - just because I have a paid signature everything I post must be spam, right?  Welcome to my ignore list.

But the point is why spend the expense for 3.0 when 2.0 has all the bandwidth required (for hashing) and it's butt loads cheaper. (redundant?)

Is there any advantage (related to stick miners) to the slightly higher voltage a 3.0 port puts out vs a 2.0 port?

What is the use of repeating something thats been answered by the person it was asked in the first place aside from the pleasure in trolling?
You signature campaign troll.

I post with logic and provide a thought-out response; you posts bullshit and call people names.  Hmm....

You also can't seem to figure out how to quote more than one post in a single response.

You're funny.  Kiss
1877  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2900 TH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: July 22, 2015, 09:40:18 PM
are those code changes actually affecting our luck? As you should obviously know, you can not answer that question.

I can answer, and the answer is a resounding "NO".

ck said the same thing a few pages back, and again a few posts up.

Kano chimed in and said the changes have an effect on long term % luck, but not what the pool reports.

You should obviously know that there is NOTHING you can do to affect luck.

And did you really call me a troll?  I'm the furthest thing from.
1878  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2900 TH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: July 22, 2015, 06:47:15 PM
^^ Not sure your opinion counts for anything on this one .....
It is ck who posted (during that good luck streak that coincided to an extent with the network test) that he'd made some changes to the code with the insinuation those changes were responsible for smoothing, aka improving the pool's luck during that storm. Someone else raised the query as to whether those same changes (whose announcement roughly coincided with the start of the bad luck streak) could be playing a part in the current bad luck streak.

I am sure they have looked at the code numerous times since then, doesnt stop me from pondering the question (and wondering whether the same bad luck affliction has befallen the solo pool which I assume also carries those changes).

Not sure my "opinion" counts?  Well I'm not giving you an opinion, I'm stating facts.

You made the "smoothing" statement, not ck.  It's a couple pages back, I just found it.

Those pool changes were made July 10 right before the pool went on a 14 block <100% rampage.  How that coincides with the start of this "bad luck block" is beyond me, maybe you can explain?  Or not, because really I don't care about your speculation.

Luck is luck, nothing you can do changes it, stop pondering.

How I can confirm I am the one finding the block when using this pool? I am using cgminer. Thanks!

You'll suddenly notice an additional 25 btc in your wallet.
